Hi! Thanks so much to Cris and Saila's writers for the folder love! Also thanks to Eve, Aaron, and Ray's writers for this folder!!

For those interested, Charlie's Wordpress has a little backstory that explains who Frank and Oz are, Aaron even gets a few mentions and there, and Isaiah is showcased in a post while being alluded to in others. An extended profile is located here.

If I am as ambitious as I'd like to be, Part II of ninety miles per hour into a brick wall should be up before the weekend officially begins on Saturday and Part III should be up before weekend's end. There may be an Epilogue afterwards, and if so, that should conclude the thread. These are 'retroactive' posts, technically, as the story itself finishes tonight!

Had a blast tonight with everyone. Fun stuff. Thanks to Charlie, Aaron, Ray and Cris for letting me be part of it!

Last night was seriously stuff of legend. Special shout out to Charlie's writer for organizing it and steering the ship so wonderfully story wise. And of course to Ray and Crispin for being some badass demon-slaying studs.

Oh, and Eve too, I guess.

... jokes ;). Eve is my hero! Rock monsters, swarming insect hordes, magical novellas. All in a day's work.

Book-throwing demon was probably my favorite demon. Second favorite? Close. Thank you, everybody! I couldn't have done it without Aaron's writer running it with me and as for our (anti)heroes, you all did splendidly. I expected it to be fun, but not that amazing.

Also thank you to Sabine's writer just for coming in and leaving some love. <3

Would like to thank everyone for putting up with my idiotic time zone... I have an interview for an internal transfer back to the mainland tomorrow, so hopefully in a month or so I won't be keeping people up until the wee hours to run stories! :)

Thanks for working with it though - so so appreciated.

Congratulations on the folder! I have so much love for all the delicious stories that are unfolding. Can't wait to read more! <3

A belated thank you to Ketch and Josie as well! It means more than you'll ever know as I am a big, big fan of Broken Parts, Missing Pieces and Josette in general! <3

I added more to ninety miles per hour into a brick wall way later than I said I would, and I do have a Part III in the works! It might be awhile because I'm waiting for a burst of inspiration for it, but it will be finished one of these days. I'm terrible at backwriting!

In the meanwhile, look at Eve's Polyvore sets because they are lovely, poke Aaron's writer to post more so we can see where his story goes, and stare at Ray's writer until they write something. <3

Huge thanks to the writer of Aaron for posting up some of the older interactions between Aaron and Charlie with me! Such a trip reading about where and how it started, all the little things that happened in between, and where they are today!

I always thought their relationship was the most intriguing to write when they were enemies, but had to deal with each other due to extenuating circumstances neither could shake free of.

Eve, too, was always and is always so fantastic.

Look, even a passing Ray mention from the first time they met in Chicago in early 2015, eee! The very best.

That was a fun read.

And also! This line?

"...although she wonders if the sacramental reconciliation truly purifies her soul or if it just comforts her to have someone tell her that she is not beyond saving,"

Could be that it's mainly because I'm reading it just as I'm singing Schubert's Ave Maria over and over in rehearsal, but it struck a powerful cord and continues to resonate. Nicely done, my friend.

It was my pleasure. :)

It's always great seeing some of the origins and history of where things started, especially now-- considering we have the context of how everything turned out. It adds another layer to it.

Besides, those Charlie comment posts you wrote were way too good not to share.

Big, big, big shout-out to an old (and super incredible) friend of mine from back during the AOL days when it was booming and the MT was king on the Member Chats! She's just coming around to play, so if you see her, give her a warm, warm welcome!!

It's great to have you here, writer of Millicent Grim! <3 I hope you stick around. You're the best kind of people! This totally made my week.

Chemical Eden forever.

I may just have to resurrect a certain concert pianist meets modern-day aristocrat meets reincarnated Persephone just for you. ;) I can't believe we made these characters in the 90's. Late 90's.

Forgive the indulgent nature of my first post. It's merely meant as an introduction.

I was going through posts from circa 1999 that I was thinking about posting as a first post. But, they just didn't cut it. I was not that surprised to notice that a large portion of my posts were from the perspective of other people. Man, did I have a lot of NPCs.

So, I resurrected one. I figured that was the best and least narcissistic way I could fill the post with descriptions of Milli now. I needed an onlooker.

For the record, this onlooker has some issues that stem from Millicent's first incarnation. (Not literal, I mean the character I played that I cribbed things from to make a much more insidious and less magical character.) Milli has no magic. He just has problems. A few more, and a few less than when we last saw him.

Artists.

Psh.

This is just a subtle announcement that I am, in fact, not dead! Things will come as real life settles down, hopefully after the holidays. I'll be stumbling over a muse at some point to start tossing things into this folder again.

So, today is the one-year anniversary of Charlie Darling and Ray Kowalski! However, five days ago, it was a year from the day he entered the inn and she saw him for the second time ever - an evening that changed her story irrevocably in such an unexpected and powerful way. I love these two. <3 Also, a shout-out to the writer of Ray Kowalski because you've been amazing to write with.

You have this beautiful and rare ability to create characters with such depth and realism that it always feels like he could be a real person. I'm an enormous fan of character studies and how you provide that with Ray is so compelling that it often leaves me rapt when you let him strip off his mask to start showing the layers underneath. Also, I appreciate how out of your comfort zone you are willing to go with action scenes, but your writing has such a grace that I can never tell it's the first time you are writing something.

Thank you for giving Charlie an unshakable foundation in Ray and for creating this character that fits her so perfectly that I think a better match is impossible; especially where they fit because they're yin and yang, so opposite each other that all this lovely friction and love-like-war happens and it practically sparks off the screen. I look forward to more adventures, tragedies, and moon-howl nights! And I'm endlessly grateful for the year of them to date.

I wrote this a long time ago elsewhere except for the quote as you know, but it's still an immaculate description:

Also, everyone should ask Eve's writer to prove she isn't dead by leaving us pretty words.

Ray Kowalski

you are too kind!!

ray has been through several 'reincarnations,' and it's thanks to charlie's player that this is by far the best one - the most developed, the most subtle, the most real. i'm definitely pushed out of my comfort zone in creating stories with ray and charlie, and my writing and characterization have both only been improved by it.

thank you so much for your patience (starting scenes with me at 5am when i got home from work at midnight in hawaii, writing all night long, battling illnesses and personal issues, european vacations) and your constant faith in my writing - it means so much to me, and i am so lucky to have you as a writing partner!

i am also lucky to get to write so often and so closely with a character like charlie. i am typically not a fan of supernatural-type stories (only because i find them so hard to do well), but i have never once hesitated in jumping in to charlie's story - and in fact, i've loved every second of the way it's developed. i love her flaws, i love the subtleties in her nature, and i love the doors it's opened for ray's development, too. i can't see ray fitting with anyone better either; their push-pull is incredible, they have incredible highs and amazing lows, and from the first time we wrote them together here, i knew they'd be great to write with each other (though i would've never guessed just how good things would get).

thanks for a great year! here's to many more best words!

It's officially been a year since we opened this folder and I feel like, on my end, nothing has really been accomplished! I've done a little writing here and there for Eve which does sadden me; she's a great character who I would love to dive deeper with and hopefully my muse will pluck me back up from the floor.

However ...

There is one person who has completely kept this folder alive and well with plenty of beautiful words and written stories that are on no shortage of drama and interest. Charlie Darling's writer and I had this idea to showcase a folder together when in reality, it is definitely Charlie's home.

And she's made a beautiful one.

Happy one year anniversary to this folder and to all that have made use of it!

Aww, lady love! In reality, I have accomplished precious little as well?most anything I've written has been a repost from the other blogs I have for Charlie out there on the web. In my memory, it was supposed to be the four of us because we are all such terrible slackers that it would take all of us to keep the folder out of Catacombs.

Truth be told, it isn't really home without you. <3

You should make a blog for Eve and make it beautiful to see if that wakes your lovely muse! I have to agree that Eve is an amazing character, and I love writing Charlie or Lia off her. If the muse ever stirs, you know you have a dance partner in me for always.

In the meanwhile, we know Charlie and Eve are meeting up to shop and eat delicacies with their manicured fingertips as they remember monsters best kept hidden beneath their beds?and sometimes we let them slip off their leashes and they pick locks to buildings with lights better left turned off to shake the bones of lesser ghosts.

This is an update to admit that I will probably no longer be posting in this folder, though I deeply appreciate the time that we spent sharing it and I couldn't care for anyone more than these three people here I've shared it with (except you, you're included.) I still count Aaron's writer as one of the three since we removed him from moderators to add a new character of his making after Aaron parted ways with the three due to the events of the story, but he's such a slacker so we should have just kept Aaron!

I care for all three of you so intensely and there's no three writers around I'd rather write with to this day. Eve's writer and I have known each other since we were teenagers, maybe even before I learned to drive a car (I'm not sure what the year was) - and I feel like we understand each other, but maybe it's because we came up in this hobby in relatively the same circles with similar ideologies.

Aaron's writer is one of my best friends in the world and I'm pretty much the luckiest girl in the world to have him as a friend which isn't sycophantic praise. He's not just one of the best writers online that I've ever encountered, like Eve and Ray (and you), but he's a genuinely good person with an unusual depth and ability to perceive. Expect a book from that guy. he'll take the world by storm if he decides it's what he wants.

Ray's writer -- I think I've said it a million times over so I won't repeat, but you're someone I'd write with regardless of character or pairing. I really lucked out with getting to write Charlie with Ray, and it means a lot to me, too, that we can both have busy weeks, months, whatever, and there's no pressure. I also love your fearlessness with storytelling. Aaron's writer and I were just discussing the other day over the phone that we think the best characters aren't those tailored to make friends, but to stay true to the story even if it means costing character popularity. You have that bravery and I dig it. What you also have is this incredible understanding of the importance of character consistency for the sake of realism, of believability that I honestly think is very rare and therefore unspeakably valuable.

All of my Charlie writing now is on Wordpress and Livejournal. I'm kind of an aesthete so I really love that both can have a custom appearance and I'm drawn to the privacy settings that allow me to mindfully protect my art (or character framework) from anyone I suspect would try to duplicate it. You should join us there, Eve-love! I miss your love affair with language that is different than my own and those almost imperceptible touches that are inspired from the comic and anime world you like because it makes it so visual.

This folder may still survive if Eve wants it to (or she might prefer to strike out on her own and make an Eve-only folder, I'm not sure - but seriously, lady love, you'd love Wordpress!), or if Millicent's writer makes use of it from time to time, I'm not sure. Thank you, beautiful girl, for wanting to share this with me. If you do decide to strike out on your own, I am willing to pick up our Lia/Eve letter series whenever you want, no expiration date. Or we can ask for it to be moved to Dragon Tales independently if we let this place go completely after a couple months of inactivity, whatever you want!

I love us no matter what the format is. <3
