The breeze, it was fresh and crisp. No longer carrying the scent of flowers, it carried the scent of...spices. Just barely though... It was a wonderful scent to The Witch.

She stood outside her atelier, pale green modest neglige and crimson curls gently swaying as the winds blew past. Bare feet pitter pattered across the dew covered grass and a few stray leaves that had begun to fall and collect on the ground. It was a quiet morning, just after sunrise as the sky was starting to shift from shades of orange to pale blue. No birds were singing, even the insects deep within the woods had not awakened. Peggy was sleeping, the pumpkinheads were all dispersed and left to their own devices, most of course, probably slept... The only sound around her was the quiet flow of water in the river that ran close to her atelier, and the occasional 'crunch' of leaves beneath her feet.

Violet eyes slowly move down towards the ground. Her gaze remained there a moment before she leaned foward, plucking a leaf from the ground to study it carefully. Soon a grin was spreading across her face as her eyes danced with excitement. Leaf was cast to the winds as she laughed heartily, allowing her small frame to fall backwards onto the soft ground.

"Autumn is here~!"

With her exclamation, the woods became alive as morning took over.

The Witch laid there for a few long moments, relishing the feel of damp grass and crispy leaves... BUT! She couldn't waste time! She had a festival to prepare for! No matter what realm she happened to occupy, she simply had to have her own Harvest Festival every year during this season! It was her favorite season, it simply had to be celebrated! Not to mention, it was great for making nice with other people.

Quickly she started to pull herself off the ground, clumps of grass being gripped between fingers as she scampered on up and started running towards her atelier at full speed.

"Iiiicky~!! It's tiiiiiime~"

If The Pumpkin had eyes, he'd roll them. In fact, all the pumpkinheads would. The Witch's favorite season meant a lot of work for them.

A lot.

She hurried into the inn, and in a quick orange poof! she was back in the usual attire of green, hat included!

"Icky~! Icky~!?" A panicked look around. "IIIIIICKYYYYYYY~??"

"BABA BOO~!"

A sour mood he was in as he trampled out of the back, fliers gathered in his clothy hands. "Baba~! BA!" He waddled on up to The Witch and held the fliers out for her, frowning.

"I'm so sorry Icky~ There's just so much to do~" She gathered up the usual fliers, reading, re-reading, and nodding in approval. "And so little time to do it in~ I need to figure out where I'm going to hold the Festival~ I need to figure out the music, the food, the entertainment, the decorations..."

Panic.

Without missing a beat The Pumpkin produced a brown paper bag and held it to the panicked Witch. Every year, the same thing. It was routine by now. She kneeled down and grabbed the bag, holding it to her mouth as she breathed heavily, almost on the verge of wheezing. This was the event that makes or breaks her... if things didn't go right, why..why she might have to find yet another realm to stay! And that list is getting shorter and shorter too...

"Icky~" Whining.

The Pumpkin offered a reassuring pat to her shoulder. "Bababa~ Baboobaba~ Babababa~" He pointed towards the door, smiling at The Witch, being supportive for a change. Seems the season had strange effects on everyone... "Baaaa~"

The Witch smiled brightly at The Pumpkin. His words were so comforting and encouraging. "Thank you Icky~ You're right~!!"

She planted a quick kiss to his forehead and hopped to her feet with a loud click! of heels. The clicka clacka continued as she raced out the door towards a groggy Peggy, recently awoken by The Witch's exclamations.

"Come on Peggy~ I need to hang these fliers~!"

Fresh off of a visit to Yotsuba's cake Shoppe, Brian was strolling through the market place, cake chomping as usual as his blues caught sight of something purple tacked to a tree near the grand fountain. A pause in step, and a quick change of direction as the elder Ravenlock made his way over, still a cake chomping as he read..

~"Professional Cooks are needed! They need to be able to cook a lot of food! It has to taste good! Workers and help will be provided. No sweaty people please!"~

Well that is not 'all' of what it said, still it was enough.. Someone needed cooking, and lots of it and help would be provided to boot! Now that did indeed appeal to Bri, since he cooked for the Scath's and sometimes at the Inn, and he was nearly sure he could snag Rosie for this as well. Catching the location as to respond to, he grinned...

"Blue toe hair.. Oh yeah."

Brian laughed to himself, and took the flyer down headed home quickly. Along the way he recalled his first encounter with Miss Elly, and how he played 'The Great Hambino' with one of her pumpkins, of course he didn't 'know' it was hers. Then on a whim he drank something special she made and it caused our boy's toe hair to literally turn blue.. Oh gods how it took FOREVER for the effect to leave. He had seen her a few times since then, but not enough to speak with her and he was curious about her shoppe.

So after a quick romp home to leave a note for his beloved 'Jenjen the Terrible' and recover his horse, then a quick side jaunt to Rosie's Deli where he left her a note as to what he was going to speak to Elly about, Brian was off and runnin'.

Brian had heard of where her shoppe was, but had never been there before. After a bit of time, he knew he was in the right place... Either that, or other shoppes had wandering pumpkins nearby. Soon Brian came upon it, the Atelier and a grin formed like no other. Blue eyes settled upon the majestic.. well Pumpkin shaped building in front of him, and he felt like a child again. Sliding off his horse and tying him off, Brian then went to what was the door and knocked a few times, and opened on up.

"Hello?? I came about the flyer.. Anyone home who isn't a pumpkin??"

For the moment, all residents of the atelier were pumpkinheads. Without The Witch around barking orders at them, it was rather peaceful, like a small community of pumpkinheads going about their...normal (?) lives.

Out front, two pumpkinheads were playing cards, sharing laughter and drinks. Not too far in the distance, some pumpkinheads could be seen fishing, one pumpkinhead in particular seemed to be struggling to reel his prize in, quite the catch! Most of the pumpkinheads were content to wander around, enjoying the nice crisp autumn day... for the moment at least. They all knew what would happen when The Witch returned. These moments were their last moments of peace and freedom before she started setting up for her Festival.

"Hello?? I came about the flyer.. Anyone home who isn't a pumpkin??"

It was at that moment, all pumpkinheads swiveled around to stare at the man. There was tension building suddenly as the pumpkinheads started mumbling and murmuring amongst themselves, pointing to the man, laughing...plotting.

"Ba~!"

One of the more friendly pumpkinheads stepped out of the atelier, Wally. "Bababoo~"

With his words, the pumpkinheads all resumed their activities, no longer giving the man their attention. All seemed to be well again. Wally the pumpkinhead waddled on up to Brian, smiling widely.

"Bababa~" Shaking his head. "Boobaba~" Shrugging. "Ba~? Baaaa~ Bababoobab-" A pause, his attention going elsewhere, off in the distance. "BA~!"

And with that shout, the pumpkinheads were in a panic. Playing cards were tossed to the air, fishing poles were lost to the stream, and some pumpkinheads even took their chances, diving into the water to make a break for it. The ones once on their peaceful walk were running around in a panic, shouting, running into one another, heads smooshing and regenerating.

Oh it was mayhem. You'd think something terrible was coming... there was a clop clop sound, faint at first, but it grew louder and louder with each passing second. Whatever the pumpkinheads were so afraid of.

It was almost there.

The Witch sensed tension as she approached her atelier. As well as the presense of something foreign.. human?

"I wonder what's going on Peggy~?" She gasped suddenly, gently nudging her rainbow pegasus to hurry along with the pressing of heels against her side. "Oh no~! What if someone is here to force me from this realm like last time~!? Why would they do that though~?" Yet another gasp! "Do you think this is about the graffiti Icky left on the outer wall of Rhydin~?"

The Witch sniffled as she offered a reassuring pat to the top of her pegasus' head...not that Peggy needed it. If anything, it should be the other way around. "I'm not going to be driven out of my new home~!" With an orange poof! and flick of the wrist there was suddenly a red Mana Wand in her hand. A harder nudge to Peggy's sides made the pegasus move even faster, now going at a fast paced gallop. "Not without a fight~!"

Within seconds her atelier was in view, and even the silhouette of a person standing at her door! The pumpkinheads? They were retreating! Oh no, this wouldn't do at all... "Stop Peggy~!"

As the rainbow pegasus came to a sudden stop, The Witch used the speed built up to do a little 'leap frog' over Peggy's lowered head. Feet back, arms and wand foward, violet eyes narrowed, and flames encircled her small body as it was catapulted foward towards whoever that was outside her atelier.

"Aiiiiiiieeeeee~~~~"

"Bloody Hell is there anyone here who is not a pimpkin??"

Brian looked about and noted the pumpkins activities and truth be told was rather interested, but that was neither here nor there. His eyes went to the one that seemed to have cause the others to resume the previously mentioned activities, as he simply looked a bit dumbfounded. Which mind you wasn't too hard of a look to pull off as of late. Then he heard it..

"BA~!"

"Wha?!"

Again.. dumbfounded.. That was about it, as Pumkins went into a full on panic that made the Scathachian Sister's dinner frenzies look like children's games. Cards flew, Pumpkins dove and rolled, some ducked and covered. Brian looked around trying to figure out what could have caused such a scene, and was left with nothing.

"Hey! I'm sorry guys! I just asked.. Wait, was it my breath?"

Of course he checked, and per SOP it was minty fresh, gods bless those mints with the 'kung fu' grip. Bri's eyes widened a moment, as he heard something.. The distinct sound of 'clopping'...

"Horse?"

Blue eyes glanced around, as it neared. The sound strengthening, and quite quickly at that. Whatever it was, it was coming at a great speed and with some serious power packed into it, he could feel at least that much. His hand extended as 'Pulgasari' appeared, sheathed in said hand. Bri crouched and readied himself, leaving the Atelier to his back to minimize points of possible attack, while his eyes roamed the area wondering just what was coming. Then he heard it, and saw it.. gods he was hardly prepared for any of it. This was a simple case of 'just when ya think you have seen it all'.

"Aiiiiiiieeeeee~~~~"

A sight like no other, a scream to match.. Brian blinked a few times and simply stared in amazement. His eyes made out what looked to be a person, in flames.. Headed right at him, and from the sound of it she didn't quite have a handle on whatever she was trying to do, then again she might have and he still was cluseless. We'll let you decide. Still, Brian recognized the voice, and dropped the sword. His mind told him to duck and cover, but he knew she was traveling too fast, and he was literally a sitting duck.
