Topic: [OOC: Read! Background, Characters, and Warning!]

Vanion Shadowcast

Date: 2006-06-07 03:44 EST
Below you will find a list of characters involved with these stories. In this folder you will find various stories, mostly dealing with a similar through-line, all involving the misunderstood, but brutal villain, Vanion Shadowcast. Some of these characters, particularly Vanion, are from an RPG called Clandestine MUD. The history and background on Clandestine is very indepth, rivalling the entire RDI - and Vanion has been central figure there for 8 years. These events mostly take place after his exile from Clandestine, during a particularly dangerous religious crusade.

Warning! There is adult material in these stories. Vanion is brutal, and the social norm for him would be considered sick, deprived, and sociopathic by common day standards. If you are easily offended, please be weary. If you can see the good in a creature so twisted, or if you just love a character you can hate, please read on.

If you wish to become involved with any of the stories, or Vanion's character, I suggest emailing me at the address below. PMing me is taking a chance, as I am not, historically, great with PMs. I would love to run into many new characters, as my primary involvement live-roleplaywise, is in the Rings of Honor chatrooms. I would be game for more, if anyone is interested in my character.

Before I continue onto the character descriptions, let me say this. Vanion has big plans for Rhy'Din. To avoid powergaming and mongering, I have placed a rather difficult task upon myself. For Vanion to finally initiate the Rituals of Avoozl, I've decided that he will need to gain the powers of every last "Tower on Twilight Isle". This means that he needs to have been a Keeper of each individual Tower. Currently, he has achieved as much as any other player, with three Keepers in his history, but there are still two more. Once the Avoozl SL does begin though, I will need great co-operation with many players to make it work. Hopefully, though, it will be fun for all. : )

---- Characters ----

Character: Vanion Knightwood-Shadowcast

Preferred Weapon: Top-Notch Swordsman, though Necromancy is truly his most fearsome weapon.

Age: Over 2,600 years old in spirit, though this body is floating near the 600-700 range. You lose count after a while.

Race: Golden-Elf, from the world Clandestine(see "Temple of Asmodeus", "Temple of Myr'Khul"). Turned nosferatu at the age of 22, the combination of undeath and abuse of necromantic and empowering tattoos and magic have caused Vanion's hair to turn from golden to near-white, his golden eyes to turn white, and his tan skin to turn a pale-blue.

Background: Vanion serves as the head priest of the Temple of Myr'Khul in Rhy'Din. This cult worships the Death God of the world of Clandestine. Vanion uses these rites to gain power through dark magic, in an attempt to gain influence in this world. Though little of his history before Rhy'Din is known to the living, it is known that he was a butcherer who enjoyed public displays of torture and cruelty to men, women, and children alike. He was chased from Clandestine during that world's great Vampire Crusade. His opportunism brought him here, where he was able to dispell a curse put on him with the aid of Etherean Esperwind. Vanion is back to his old self again, hoarding power through the Rings and Isle of Twilight - and scheming. Always scheming. Sometimes, though, his actions are suprisingly not sadistic, always creating more mystery around this darkened elf.

Jono Slava

Preferred Weapon: Cursed Familial Broadsword, Tentacle

Age: Early 40s.

Race: Jono was once human. After his resurrection, he would best be referred to as an Death Knight or Anti-Paladin.

Background: A Russian demon cursed his family long ago, scattering them throughout the nexus of worlds. Jono and his brother, Sergei, both found themselves in Rhy'Din. With nowhere else to go, they turned to the Adventurer's Guild for shelter. Trained by Rakeesh themselves, Jono stayed with the Guild, while Sergei joined the Rhy'Din Watch. In an attempt to avenge his brother's murder, the young Paladin-in-Training sacrificed his life to attempt to stop a rampaging Dimitri Locherin. His deaht was not only in vain, though, but the Necromancer of Myr'Khul added insult to injury. The God-fearing man was resurrected as an undead creature in Vanion Shadowcast and Myr'Khul's service. Vanion experimented with Jono's body, grafting a vampiric-flayer's long tentacle onto where Jono's left arm had been torn apart. He now serves the Dark Lord frighteningly, his sad eyes often wrongly insinuating that this Anti-Paladin has an ounce of mercy left in him.

Character: Tybalt d'Tange

Preferred Weapon: Guns of all shapes and sizes. Explosives also, when the time is right.

Age: A couple hundred years old. Appears to be around 40 years, human age.

Race: Human, vampiric.

Background: Forced into vampirism the hard way, this ex-gunsmith murdered his Master and is known as a hot-head by those of his kind. Always righteous, always violent, Tybalt would like for nothing more than to know that he and his daughter may never fear to sleep through the day again.

---- *-* ----

Character: Ignatius Vossen

Preferred Weapon: Powerful, if un-tuned Mage, though his skill with stealth and poison is rarely matched.

Age: Unknown, even to him

Race: Half-Pixie, Half-Elf; shorter than most humanoids(under 5'), he once had an unusual set of giant-sized(for a pixie) wings, though they do not give him the ability to fly. During a cruel religious crusade on the world, Clandestine, his torturers tore off his pixie wings, however.

Background: Ignatius serves as the secondary High-Priest of Myr'Khul. He too hails from the world of Clandestine, where Vanion was his combat mentor while they served Myr'Khul there. Once a kind creature, years of brainwashing have turned Ignatius cruel and close-minded. Now, he serves Vanion's wishes without question. Only he knows of the dark elf's true wishes.

Character: Utau Jigoku

Preferred Weapon: Dual Gunblades

Age: Doesn't know, doesn't care. It's been much too long.

Race: Oracle... Was made undead by Housenka Jigoku, who led him away from the village where he lived. Thus, he was not there when the race was thought to become extinct.

Background: He comes from a family of more proper, noble Vampires, but has had enough of discrimination. He doesn't want to let his family know about his inolvement know, for fear of being alienated. He is a priest of Myr'Khul, but is given crap by other vampires in it because of his attitude. He's righteous, but in a vigilante sort of way. He'll do what he has to, and he will do it HIS way. He has acquired two transformations available to his race, and is not afraid to use them. He can do so more easily than living Oracles as well. He's well versed in energy use and magic. His favorite spell is a fire-based one called Vehemence.

Character: Mishaelna Knightwood-Shadowcast

Preferred Weapon: Her fangs and bare hands, when she is forced to scrap.

Age: Mishaelna appears to be a girl of 8 or 9, when in actuality she is over 300 years old.

Race: Mishaelna is half-elven - the pure golden-elf blood of her father mixed with the dirty, Felpur blood of her mother. In appearance, though, she is certainly Vanion's child.

Background: Little is currently known of Mishaelna, though I will reveal more in-time. It is known that she came to Rhy'Din with Ignatius, though she has not yet made her presence known to either Ignatius or Vanion. She is Vanion's daughter, and one of the few lives he has ran across that he would sacrifice himself to protect.

---- *-* ----

Character: Neo Eternity

Preferred Weapon: Sakaba-tou (reverse bladed katana)

Age: 24

Race: Oracle. He is thought to be one of the last 4 living full-blooded Oracles (Utau is dead anyway). One of the others is his older brother, Jin, and the other two are a couple of long-time friends of his.

Background: At the age of 5, his parents were killed by his cousin Zero Eternity. It turns out that Zero eradicated the entire Eternity clan, save for Neo and Jin. He went to RhyDin at age 16 via a spaceship that his two close friends, Link Akami and Vawn Makuamie had made, and met Zero, who turned out to be much more powerful at the time. At age 21, he finally killed Zero. He then created the Edges of Life, a vigilante police force of sorts, consisting of himself, Jin, and his friend Yen Powers, who was murdered.
