?Please, your grace??

The female Sun Elf approached the throne and, as instructed prior to entering the throne room, bowed her head and avoided eye contact, keeping her hands in front of her and clasped. With the little time she?d been here, she?d learned that the king was a surface drow, different from the subterranean version she was used to dealing with, and was believed, though several generations removed, a direct descendant of the Goddess Eilistraee. While Kings ruled the people in this city, the Queen held reign over the military. One never saw the Queen without first seeing the King.

She had spent the better part of the day trying to get audience with the King of Krexarn himself, which was required before anyone would do anything about her claim. Now, as the sun had disappeared below the mountains, she was finally getting to see him.

?I am Unodia Loladar, an Ambassador of the city of Exodii. I come with an urgent warning.?

?So I?ve heard.? The King?s lavender hues regarded her calmly, yet he wasted no time getting to the point. ?You have made quite a stir. Tell me, how is it you know of this attack even before our scouts have reported any movement in the area??

So he?d been told prior to her arrival. She knew they?d had plenty of time to do so and was glad to finally cut through some red tape. ?The one who attacks you is our enemy. We have noticed increased movements in the mountains, one that tells of armies gathering. We believe she seeks to increase her own army by taking over your city and your people in order to increase her chances against us.? Unodia briefly explained.

?She? Who is She?? The King asked.

Unodia swallowed, fearful to even say her name. Her silvery blues lifted to look upon the Drow King of Krexarn, not hiding the fear in her eyes. ?King Anur Enentar? She is someone powerful and of higher blood then most kings on this world. She has been tainted and is now the enemy of us all. She seeks the destruction of this world.?

He looked at her looking at him and his gaze hardened. ?Do you dare blaspheme??

?No your grace! On the contrary! I?m trying to help you.?

?Then why do you look at me so? Why do you say such things??

?So that you can see the truth of my words, that I believe them to be true and that I only have your best interest at heart. Please believe me when I tell you? She has the strength of the gods. You, your city and your people are seriously in danger!?

He was silent for a moment, studying her keenly with lavender hues. Yet he could only see and feel her honesty, the tenacity for truth and the deep fear she held inside. To him, it was a shame to see such things on a beautiful face.

?You Exodians like to stir things, no?? A smile touched his lips for a brief moment, showing a hint of a lighter side beyond brooding baritones. Yet his gaze soon laced with deep concern.

The drow king moved from his throne and came to stand before her. He towered over her much as a human would. The drow of the city seemed to be of comparable height to humans, unlike their subterranean counterparts, who were usually even shorter then the lighter skinned surface elves.

She shifted her gaze downward, fearful that she had overstepped her bounds too far. Yet he lifted a dark skinned hand, fingers connecting gently to the ivory of her skin and lifting her chin gently upwards, catching her silvery blues with his lavender hues. ?Why us??

?You are the first in a chain of large cities fairly close together. She takes this one, it?s easier to take the next. Within a few short months, maybe even as little as weeks, she?s got enough people, resources and power to wage war on every part of this planet. We believe she will try.?

?But there has been no movement that we have seen that would suggest what you are saying.? The King countered, letting his hand drop away from her. ?How can you say there has been??

?Your scouts could?ve been taken out or moved around. Her movements have been enhanced by the gods. We noticed them because our technology battles through magic generally used to hide such things?.?

He was silent for a few moments, realizing what she said might be true. While they had not received word that an army was on the march, they had not received any word from their scouts at all. He knew what she was saying was completely possible.

?She? Her? what name do I call this demon spawn? And why have we not heard about this Exodii that you hail from??

?Exodii is almost directly on the other side of the world from here. She is from there and, until her recent taint, was once considered a hero of the Change? she was one who helped the Gods try to pull our lands together and save not just our people, but as many people as she could. She, her mother, and Father ... Many of the gods and those of similar power pulled together to do this. Do you not have stories of this as we do??

King Anur Enentar inclined his head with a soft nod realizing now the power that could potentially be against him now. There were many questions he had but it seemed fate would not give them time, nor easy answers.

He became aware that alarms were going off in the city, faint as they were to their location. It was the opening of the grand doors that allowed the sound to enter as the doors prior to them were also open as if in a rush. A runner darted into the room and fell to a knee several feet from the King and the Ambassador.

?My Lord! North gate is being attacked! And as I ran here, I could see and hear the alarms sounding all around? East gate, South gate and Western side as well. And that?s not all!?

?Who attacks??

?Undead, my Lord? Barbarians, Orcs, Gnolls? Humans? and the Lost. I saw them coming out of the sewers too. A city guard informed me that what started out as a bar fight with some of Erythnul followers quickly spread into chaos within a ten block square. Soon after they were being attacked by undead and the lost Drow flowing from below and spreading to all corners of the city while on the outside the gates are being attacked. This started not ten minutes ago. They carry the symbols of Hecate, Erythnul and Lloth.?

?They come through the sewers by the hand of others from within our own city. It?s the only way they could?ve gotten past the wards. War of the Gods?? the king looked to Unodia. ?I fear we should have listened to you sooner.?

Even before the word came from the ambassador, Alex had been informed of the attacks beginning on the city of Krexarn. What surprised him was that the attacks seemed to start within the center of town. Alex acted upon them as quickly as he could. With his own troops virtually ready, it made the action that much quicker. Within minutes of the first attack launched inside the city, Alex had troops mass teleported and transported to the outside of every gate around the city. Shuttles were also set in motion to bring more troops along with fighter pilots gearing up for launch to attack from the skies.

Although Alex knew he could use the ship's power to deal killing blows, he knew the destructive force the ships in orbit would have on the land and the people. He still harbored hope for those that had fallen under Sha'uri's control and hoped for a miracle to her swift ... demise. He hated thinking about it, but he was getting used to the fact that she needed to be destroyed in order to be saved.

For now, he would use ground forces and small craft from the skies while the ships in orbit were used to try and break through the citadel defenses. All the while they were using the attempt to hide a transport beam, moving Cadence into position nearby the Citadel. All they had to do was get one little opening, one tiny little opening through the Citadel shields and Cadence could transport herself undetected... plus anyone she could fit into her room. So far, it was pushing over a hundred people into her little tiny cubby hole.

The troops now stationed around the gates began fighting against the forces of Sha'uri. Alex would wait on word from his ambassador before he would release troops to enter in and defend the city there. After all, he was trying fight a war and make friends at the same time.

?They come through the sewers by the hand of others from within our own city. It?s the only way they could?ve gotten past the wards. War of the Gods?? the king looked to Unodia. ?I fear we should have listened to you sooner.?

Alex signalled the Ambassador with a quiet double beep through the combadge. She knew this meant things were in motion and he needed to hear from her soon. The sound brought both the Kings and her own gaze down to the amulet pinned on her chest. She glanced back up to him again.

"Indeed. That would be our General Arrowny getting his troops in motion. They will be willing to add their forces to yours in your defense of the city.. which would ultimately be to our defense as well. We only need your permission before we do enter our troops in through your gates.. or rather teleport them in. Opening the gates would not be wise at this time."

The king seemed to consider this a moment while his amethyst gaze flashed with glowing embers briefly. He could sense her sincerity and her trust of this General. "You have shown good faith in trying to warn us as you did. Even respecting our ways. Tell your General he may bring his troops in. I'll deal with my wife. Just give me three minutes to inform her."

Ambassador Loladar nodded.

"Go with my guards. They will take you to a safe place." he motioned to four guards who stepped forward ready to escort her. The king gave a nod of reassurance before he left the room with four other guards.

Ambassador Loladar relayed the news to Alex. Within moments, she was jogging down the hallways of the palace and descending with the guards deep within it's confines....
