Topic: Confrontations: War on the March...

Only a few weeks had gone by since the last encounter with Cutter. However, much had occured since he had tried to throw Sha'uri into a portal, pelting her with shards of the Nether rays, launching her and Knite through a small adventure where they ended up on Zed. Cutter had been chased out of the Inn that day, but returned later to attack once again. He had put Tina to sleep and had almost had her for his purpose of using her as a key to a devistating weapon. The weapon was designed for the purpose of destroying Exodii. It had been the intervention of those present, which brought her back into safety.

When she'd been awoken back at the Ravensheart school, Tina had been changed into a humanoid of flesh and blood, spirit honed ... body and soul newly formed in the Awakening by the souls of Briarius Ravensheart and Sha'uri Arrowny. It had been their hope to change her to a real child so that she was no longer useful to Cutter and this weapon. That left Shati the only one that could be used for it. She had agreed to play as bait...

Preparations had been made. Even though they weren't sure how useful it would be, the fleet was put on alert and every military faction on the ground, in the air and in space were constantly on patrol, scanning beyond the horizons and preparing for the inevitable confrontations. War would soon be on the March.

With so much to be prepared, Sha'uri left Tina mainly in the care of Briari as there were many things she needed to do here in Exodii. Her visits to RhyDin were strictly for teaching classes. She knew the brundt of this war would take place in her part of space, the Exodii System. For whatever reason, Cutter seemed to have some vendetta against Exodii. It was known the weapon was designed specifically to destroy the beautiful place.

Alex had the bombs placed far under the the complex on Mardra via transporter beams and monitored constantly to assure they were still there. He had hoped his mother would give the order to just destroy the place, flushing out the mole so to speak and forcing Cutter into action. But she insisted to wait and let him take the bait.

Communication devices had been given to Briari, Triv, Bryce, Shati and even Lyndra, Melody and Tina, to ensure they could be contacted, or to contact, should Cutter rear his monstrous head. This would signal the game was on. Everything was ready and in place, just waiting on Cutter to take the bait.... Shati, who was somewhere in Exodii city, one of the logical places she might be setting up residence. And so it would seem...

It had only been about a week since the very small, very private wedding of Triv and Sha'uri had taken place. She was down in the practice room trying to run herself through a crash course, sparring an automated droid, in the attempt to hone her hand to hand combative skills; skills that used to be so easily performed. It had been too long and she was admittedly out of practice. She'd been successful the last three days without Triv knowing, sneaking down there after he'd fallen asleep. It was now exceptionally early in the morning....

Suddenly the droid did something unusual and backed away from Sha'uri and raised it's arms. Black enegry struck the ground around it and some more droids pulled their way up out of the floor. They were much like the original droid, but seemed to be missing the cosmetics of technology. They had servos and wires that were not housed. Their batteries dangling from them. There seemed to be 3 of these skeletal droids that advanced on Sha'uri.

Triv murmured softly in his sleep and rolled over to wrap an arm around Sha'uri. When his hand found nothing but the mattress something inside Triv told him to wake up. He forced his eyes open to see that his new wife was gone. Probably gone to the bathroom, he thought. He called out her name. No answer. Hmm...

In the mess hall, perhaps? She was eating for two now, after all. Triv rolled out of the bed and slid into his pants. A glass of milk would help him go back to sleep, anyway. He pulled a shirt over his head and grabbed the communicator off the nightstand before leaving the room. It occured to him that he could use the device to find out where Sha'uri had gone off to but he decided to leave it for emergencies. Despite all the turtoring he was getting, he didn't really trust technology just yet. He'd lived his whole life without 'replicators' or 'computers' and didn't see why he needed them now.

A group of guards had apparently decided to grab a bite to eat before heading off to their beds. Triv shot them a sort of salute/wave and poured himself a glass of milk. "Y'all seen Sha'uri?"

One of the guards smirked. "Lost your wife already, eh? You know, I could give you a few pointers if your having trouble keeping her...happy."

Triv scoffed. "If I needed pointers for you, Levine, I'd fall on my blade." He took a sip of milk. "But seriously, none of you have seen her?"

Another guard, Wallace, cleared his throat. "It's possible that maybe, just maybe, I saw her headed towards the practice room. But you didn't hear that from me."

Triv smiled and gulped down the rest of his milk before putting his glass with the rest of the dirty dishes. "Thanks, partner. I'll have to buy you a beer some time." What was she up to, he wondered as he made his way down the hall. He thought of the old days back in Dar Oma. All the times they had sparred. She had given him a run for his money back then and bested him more times than he cared to count.

A parry with one sword and she sliced the droids midsection with the other as she spun round to come facing back at the ready. Her movements, though not up to par by her standards, were still fluid and graceful like a dance. Her style was that akin to the drows though she used two elven crafted longswords instead of scimitars.

She fully expected the droid to come in after her, but when it didn't she was surprised at first. But as she felt the flow of magic that cracked down around it and formed up the other three droids. She knew in an instant who was peeping in, or hidden somewhere in the room. A smirk formed though she kept at the ready.

"Okay, Bri! Come on with you! Only three? You're being awefully kind... wouldn't happen to be because of the baby, would it? What do you think I am, a whimp?! At least I don't always hide behind my magic like one!!!"

Yeah, she was baiting him to get his arse in there and practice, too.

As the three magical droids advanced on her, she took up the attack and psionically blasted them with a force, meant to knock them back against the wall.

A chuckle could be heard...and then the Headmaster of the Ravensheart School stepped out of the original droid as if he were possesing it.

"It was merely to make certain you were ready for...surprises. I am certain Cutter has many up his sleeves."

Shauri

She sighed and wiped the sweat off her brow.

"You got that right. I'm sure he does have a few surprises. It's why I've been down here trying to train. I'm so out of shape on this. Triv, on the other hand, would probably have a fit if he knew I was down here. He's so protective of the baby, it's so sweet. Even though I ..."

Her gaze suddeny shifted to the doorway and she got a sinking look of guilt on her face.

"Speak of the devil, he's coming down the hallway now. I'm gonna hang the little rat up for spilling the beans as soon as I figure it out. I bet it was either Levine, Wallace or Stark. I passed the three on the way here."

Sigh. Then she smirked.

"Guess I'm in the doghouse tonight. "

Briarius

Although not originally an elf, the Headmaster's elven look of aloofness seemed to be perfect. He stood there with a look that said 'I'm sorry about your troubles.' and 'I am above such petty things' all at the same time.

"I see...regardless of where anyone is sleeping tonight, I would imagine that we don't have much more time before we have to make our strike."

Shauri

Date: 2007-02-26 21:42 EST
"You've got a point, Bri. I guess I've slept in worse places. However, it is not us who's going to make the strike, it's Cutter as soon as he takes the bait."

She grinned and moved a few paces away, allowing Bri room.

"Care to join me?"

Activating two droids, she began to go through a series of thrusts, kicks, parries and twists in action and reaction of the droids movements. There was room for Bri to jump in along side her if he wanted or she'd take them both on. The salt of her sweat stung her eyes...

Briarius

Date: 2007-02-27 07:33 EST
The Headmaster moved in and one of the droids took notice and advanced. As the droid advanced, Briarius just stood there. The droid attacked and with elven grace he dodged every attack. It simply looked as if the Headmaster was just going to dodge all day when he dodged into the droid's area of attack and placed a finger upon the droid's head. A black aura surrounded his hand and then the droid seemed to be electricuted and fell over, completely shorted out.

Shauri

Date: 2007-02-27 15:55 EST
Sha'uri shielded her mind. She didn't want to be left out of the surprise giving, so as she was fighting with the droid on her, she noticed what Bri was doing. When his attention seemed full on the driod in that moment of frying its wires, Sha'uri spun round yet again, to hit her droid in the arm and launched a side kick with her foot not at her droid in front of her but at Briari's bum end to her side. She quickly jumped up and flipped over her droid to get it between her and Bri, spinning around to the ready with a grin.

"Surprised?"

Briarius

Date: 2007-02-28 22:26 EST
As Sha'uri made contact she could feel the fleeting of magick as if being quickly dispelled.

"No...if I were surprised, you may be lying in a heap on the floor."

"No...if I were surprised, you may be lying in a heap on the floor."

Triv smirked as he entered the training room. "Did I just hear you threaten my wife?" The slight grin adorning his lips made it obvious that he was just teasing. "You're lucky I'm not armed." The playful grin grew as those green eyes settled on Sha'uri, taking in the long swords and her sweaty form. "What's this, then? You left me all alone in that big bed to come down here and fight with these over-grown toy soldiers?"

He kept his unease well hidden. He didn't like the idea of her sneaking down here to train in the middle of the night. She had to be training for something, right? Something she didn't want him to know about? If she was just doing it for the exercise then why would she hide it from him? The secrecy did not sit well with him at all.

He'd spend the rest of his days making sure she never had to swing a sword in anger. After all this time, they were finally a family and there was simply no way he was going to risk losing her. And the fact that she was pregnant with his child settled the matter.

Briarius

Date: 2007-03-01 07:09 EST
The Headmaster calmly replied.

"It wasn't a threat. It was a mere statement of fact. Understand that I keep several wards around me active. If I did not dismiss them, they would affect any who touched me."

He looked at Triv.

"You must be Lord Trivial. I am Briarius Ravensheart, Headmaster of the Ravensheart School for the Gifted."

Shauri

Date: 2007-03-01 15:46 EST
"Oh, I.."

She cut herself short of the statement as Triv walked in. Instead, she shut down the remaining droid and took a moment to watch the exchange as she put away her swords.

Triv's smile didn't go unnoticed and it always had a way to bring out her own smile, even though she could sense his unease. She'd expected it, though. Still, she snickered at his comment about toy soldiers until Bri messed up Triv's name, to which she cringed and stepped closer to Bri.

"Triv.. his name is Triv, not trivial."
She quietly and politely corrected Bri, though a silent message was nudged into his head.
~Please, Never call him trivial again. It's really bad Karma with him... and me. Bad childhood, long story, and I'll leave it at that.~

"Yes, Briarius, this is my husband Triv. Triv, Briarius was my mother's first husband."

She then quickly went to Triv's side and slipped and arm round his arm as sapphires looked up to him. She was embarassed and ashamed she just didn't tell him to begin with. Why didn't she just tell him?

"Sorry, Love, I just ... well, I didn't want to wake you, nor worry you. You've been fighting for so long that I just.. didn't want to worry you with more talk of war. And well, ... I needed the practice. Remember I told you about Tina and some of the story about Cutter? Well... he's not going away. He'll attack any moment. I need to be ready."

It was the truth.

Trivial

Date: 2007-03-02 05:00 EST
Triv chuckled. "I assure you, Briarius, I've never been 'Lord' of anything." He ignored the mix up with his name. Triv had come to terms with his past a long time ago and the headmaster couldn't have known, anyway. "But it's good to meet you."

He smiled down at Sha'uri. "You're right. It's probably best to be prepared." Triv didn't like sitting around waiting on Cutter to suddenly show up and start dealing out merry hell. It had been his experience that when it came down to it, the aggressor made the rules. "But if he does show up here with an attitude I don't want you to take any unnecessary risks. Let me and Bryce handle it if at all possible, okay? It's what we're good at. You're a strong woman, I should know but I don't want anything to happen to you."

Shauri

Date: 2007-03-03 12:42 EST
"But you are a Lord, Triv ... You are Lord of this Citadel."

If she hadn't made that clear before, she did now.

"And I hope it's as easy as just letting you and Bryce deal with the likes of Cutter, though, I'm pretty sure it won't be. I don't want anything to happen to you or Bryce. But I will most definitely need your help here, your expertise in matters of war and physical combat. Cutter is not of this realm not like anything I"ve come across. The way I understand it, his power comes from the Nether lands. Perhaps, Briarius could explain this better."

She shifted her gaze to the Headmaster.

"Would you explain this situation with Cutter to Triv? Perhaps your explanation about it all can better shed light on it for him. Perhaps Triv has some last minute ideas that we should try...."

Briarius

Date: 2007-03-04 10:23 EST
"Very well"

The Headmaster stepped back while the two were talking only to step forward again now.

"From what I have gathered about this 'Cutter' is that he uses powerful necromancy in conjunction with technology. Typically, the arts of magick and the arts of the arcane, or even divine, rarely mesh well. In this case however, it seems that Cutter has found powerful forces of death within the Nether, which some call the Deadlands, the Afterlife, the Grayworld, etc etc ad infinitum... Regardless, he has consumed the powers of these powerful forces, probably demons who were banished from the Abyss or even angels banished from Celestia. So, in this case, the necromancy has essentially bonded with the technology in a way that only a True Necromancer could possibly fathom. He uses souls to posses objects and empower said objects. He uses his necromancy to subjugate the spirits within. This is why, by my theories, he wishes to cause death on a grand scale...to empower more technology.

Why he chooses Exodii is beyond me..."

He pauses to see if everyone seems to be comprhending.

Shauri

Date: 2007-03-04 19:11 EST
"Why he chooses Exodii is beyond me..."

"That is beyond me as well, except maybe he was from here...?" she shrugged to Briari and looked back to Triv.

Trivial

Date: 2007-03-06 07:24 EST
Triv blinked at Sha'uri. Lord of the citadel? The way he saw it, 'Lord' was a term of respect and he hadn't done anything to earn that. Having everyone call him 'Lord Triv' would just make him feel like an impostor. Any one of the guards had more of right to that title than he had. "If it's all the same, I'd rather you just call me Triv."

He listened as Briarius explained. Technology and magic? Great. The two things Triv knew next to nothing about. "I hate necromancers," he muttered. He wondered if he could defeat Cutter with sheer anger. Of course, there was something to be said for keeping a cool head on the battlefield but Triv knew a lot of fights came down to who was more pissed off.

"I wonder what he stands to gain from attacking Exodii. If he's from here, like you said, and it's personal then he's all the more dangerous. Have the guards been told what to expect?"

Briarius

Date: 2007-03-06 08:03 EST
The Headmaster smirked slightly.

"I would be careful of whom you decide to hate before knowing any better. I too, am a Necromancer. Though my magicks focus more on the proper balance of life and death, I am a Necromancer none the less. My insight on this is to restore Cutter to where he belongs in The Great Ring."

Trivial

Date: 2007-03-06 12:24 EST
Triv cocked an eyebrow. "And why would you assume I don't know any better?"

Briarius

Date: 2007-03-06 13:31 EST
"Touch?, but regardless of your emotions towards me, I am still your ally in this matter.

My thoughts are that Cutter is a powerful human, but a human none the less. He will not be able to keep his attention focused if we respond on several different fronts. Which is why I am here. I had thought that if Cutter uses souls to power his technology, what is to say that we cannot disrupt that? For a Necromancer and a Guardian of Souls should be able to create something to disrupt that soul enough to free it from Cutter."

Shauri

Date: 2007-03-06 15:30 EST
She listened to the two and tears just started welling in her eyes. The two men she loved the most were nit picking between them, perhaps even hated each other already.. Nothing else mattered. She walked away, though, preventing herself from just grabbing the two and knocking their heads together. She was her mother's daughter and had that urge yet she was her father's daughter too... and just walked away, quietly not saying anything as she resumed knocking the snot out of the practice dummy with a new fervor, beheading it even, taking out her frustration on the souless thing rather then the ones she loved.

Trivial

Date: 2007-03-07 01:42 EST
Triv caught the look on Sha'uri's face as she moved away from him and sighed. "I apologize if I offended you, Briarius. It's just that I've had some... bad experiences with necromancers in the past." A necromancer was the reason he hadn't got to watch his son grow up, after all. And now here was another one, threatening to take Triv's family away from him once again. He shook his head.

"If you can disrupt his necromancy, Bryce can attack him with magic, and I can engage him in melee, we should be able to take him down, right? Like you said, he's powerful but still human. Surely he can't defend against all of us at the same time."

Briarius

Date: 2007-03-07 07:21 EST
"Precisely my point. I was hoping that you or Master Bryce would stay on the planet to help the defenders. I would see that the proper enchantments are laid upon you. Rest assured that though I share the title of necromancer with many villainous beings, my magicks stem from the The Great Wheel. You are born, you live, and you die...only to be born again. Nothing is to remove you from The Great Wheel unnaturally. I do not bind the unliving, nor do I use necromancy as an excuse to practice fell magicks."

Shauri

Date: 2007-03-07 18:11 EST
She started to feel calmer as the head rolled on the floor. Just to release that last bit of frustration, she kicked the thing across the room, away from the other two. Then she moved to a nearby bench and sat down, picking up a towel to wipe the sweat from off her neck and face. Her swords she unstrapped and sat on the bench beside her. Then she picked up a water bottle and began to sip water, listening to the other two.

She could feel Triv's frustration from past experiences begin to fade a little, at least towards Briari as she let Triv feel her trust of Briari, which was of a great amount akin to that of her trust of Triv.

"I'm still going to need to confront him, myself."

It was firmly said. There wasn't going to be a choice of it, she knew she'd have to face Cutter. It was inevitable.

"Someone has to banish him from this realm...."

:: They would hear a laugh from within the shadows as slowly he walked into the light his head slowly shaking in amusment his eyes looking to them filled with the green nether energies of the Underworld..it was there Briarius would know what Cutter was doing... he was using the Nether itself as an energy source not just the souls..his hands rising he shot green bolts into the three dummy's the forms slowly rising and changing into metalic undead hounds...slowly he pets one of the metalic monstrosities before moving infront of them::

So.... you honestly dont know who I am...the name Cutter was given to me long ago ..I had a different name once

:: A laugh as he slwoly voiced his words into a transmitter::

Activate the Angel of Death

:: SHa'uri would feel it then..the core of the moon his base was on suddenly being sucked in and pieces of the moon being shaken off as the devistating weapon of destruction was revieled to Exodii in a terrible fastion::

She felt it all right... and smiled, calmly touching her combadge as she stood to face Cutter, both swords coming to her hands and her holy armor revealing itself from its invisible cloak. Cutter wasn't the only one with surprises. She'd set some things up without most knowing just to make sure Cutter wouldn't be prepared for it. Sha'uri's eyes began to glow with flame flickering both sapphire and emerald hues, a feminine duality heard within her voice.... Bri would now begin to understand.

"Ya really are a fool... how omnipotent do ya think you are? Think you can trespass at yer whim and piss off a god and get away with it? .......... You're ruining my mother's favorite place. That's her moon and Corellon loves it just how it was before. You'll pay the price..."

The moment tremors began on the moon, the explosives near the core were set off. Hundreds of fighter pilots and two destroyer ships dropped cloaks to reveal their hidden positions. They all began firing on the moon. Deflector shields were activated between the satelites and several ships in orbit, ready to bounce some of the attacks to the planet back at the moon. They wouldn't last forever, but could withstand a few blasts. It was fortunate that they had time to prepare for the strength they knew would come from the weapon.... thanks to all that info they found. Plus time to recalibrate all cloaking systems.

"You're name from before matters not for ye'll not exist when we are through with ye. You brought it on yourself.... don't you know names are not that important to one who can track souls? Souls are not duplicated ... and I smell yours."

A sneer crossed her features. Psionic energy mixed with the holy fire from the gods was released in a blast at Cutter while Sha'uri advanced with swords in hand.

"Let's dance!"

Chanting was heard throughout the room, but the location was difficult to pinpoint. There were several voices and they were all chanting a spell of combination, in preparation for something....

:: He grinned and simply waves away the holy magic his form slowly walking forwards:: Did you honestly think Shati was able to tell you all....goddess...come come now...that moon was changed and made ready for this day...and to prove it I'll demostrate the full capabilities of my Project...after all...when was the last time you saw the pour girl hmmm...four five hours ago:: he laughs a bit then:: Maybe you should have never let her leave for the inn Tday Sha'uri...for now even if you destroy the Battle Station and me...my cannon will still fire apon Exodii so I can finally extract my revenge

: He laughs and while the explosives of the moon were going off more and more of the station was revieled..those seeing it woul see a massive shield of nether energy...so thats what all of that power was for...the Station looked very much intact after all said and done....slowly the would see a Mech cannon being extended towards exodii...the size of the cannon itself ooked near two miles in length..on each corner was an amplifier the thing charging both nether energy and soul energy into a massive force..something technology could not protect against::

So go ahead and kill me SHa'uri...I died long ago remember...my heart died my soul devoured the day your kind took her away from me!...amd now you will pay with the very planet she so wanted to leave

Shauri

Alarms went off in the Citadel and all across Exodii. People quickly made for the portals or began using their teleportations to make their way off the planet. Many flooded into the streets of RhyDin, pouring out of the jump gate into the streets. Others teleported to other places off of Exodii planet.

What Cutter apparently forgot was that the deflector shields were like most other technology in Exodii... often mixed with magic of sorts. They were indeed augmented, because of recent events, to withstand some massive forces of nether energy and to protect against soul draining forces...

While the explosions were revealing portions of the station, it also put into motion vulcanic erruptions... as it had done before.. the station began to sink into the hot magma core of the moon.

Sha'uri closed the distance between and just when it appeared she was going to strike Cutter, she pulled in her blades close to her, twirled round three times as she shifted away from him. A single arcane word was spoken and two identical forms split off from her. There were three Sha'uri's all identical down to even the souls. There was no way to tell the difference between them.

The one in the center stopped spinning and came to the ready to defend herself.

The one on the left vanished as did the one on the right.

In the STation, Sha'uri number 2 appeared and began to hunt for Shati's body and soul....

As for number 3, Cutter couldn't trail it.

The Number One sneered.
"Since you seem to want to tell your story... I give you this last request. So, Who is she?"

Cutter-Cut-Cut

Date: 2007-03-09 18:27 EST
:: He sneered in return his anger being prevoked caused his face to take on a more serious appeal his eyes changing from the ominous green to an orange as he slowly walked forward his hands whispering softly until she could hear what he was saying...no spell...no arcane words...he spoke something though:: Maya....Maya Shitori.....she wanted so badly to leave Exodii..to leave everyhting behind..her family that treated her like scum...her job that had enslaved her life...but when she did leave..or try to:: His voice roared with malice and hatred:: She was shot down!...and why you ask..why..I'll tell you because she got into the middle of a crossfire from Exodii forces and a band of rogues..but instead of helping her..saving her..they blew her up with the rest of them...nothing left for me to restore her....no way to save her...and all they said was......SHe should have not been there!!!!:: They would feel the tremors as the abomination started to disconnect from the Moon the shockwaves felt from space as his eyes just grew more and more hateful:: I will destroy what she hated most as our revenge...I will use the power of the sun and death as hand to destroy Exodii!!!...

:: He riased his hand up and then slowly set it down:: So go ahead and kill me..send me into the nether..it matters not to me anymore. oNce she died so did I Sha'uri...ohhh goddess who saves the innocents..tell me why not my Maya!:: He just walked towards her then neither weapon nor spell being chanted his eyes going from rage to utter sadness and sorrow. The waves of these feelings spreading out..now they knew it wasn't the souls who had been tormented...what they had cleansed that day aboard those ships was Cutters very feelings his pains seed that had slowly taken route in one spot..and now the source was infront of them begging to die::

Bryce's combadge beeped loudly from it's place on the nightstand. He started awake so violently he rolled off his bed and landed on the floor with a crash. A muttered curse escaped his lips as he pulled himself up to look at the combadge. It took a moment for it to sink in but when it did, he sprang into action immediately. He donned his armor and strapped on his swords with military efficiency, grabbed the combadge and dashed out the door.

The alarms sounded as he made it out into hall. He closed his eyes and concentrated trying to tune out the sound of the alarms and calm his thoughts. After a moment, he was able to locate his mother and father. Good. They were together. Bryce set out for the training room at a dead run.

*********

Triv clenched his fists and moved towards Cutter. The fact that he didn't have a weapon didn't even cross his mind. He would pummel the necromancer into oblivion with his bare hands if need be. The red mist of rage was beginning to close over his vision when a familiar voice rang in his head.

'Don't be a fool, boy.'

What?! Triv thought he recognized the voice but that was impossible...

'Shut up, boy, and listen,' the voice said. 'I'll not watch you die needlessly a second time. Trust yer new wife. She's smart and she knows what she's doing. Let her do what needs to be done.'

Triv seemed to nod to himself moved off to the side so he could be ready if he was needed but still be out of Sha'uri's way. He would do as he old mentor said. He would trust her.

Bryce sprinted into the training room then. He met Triv's eyes and caught the slight shake of his father's head. Bryce had fought with his father long enough to read his body language to an extraordinary degree. His father meant for him to hold steady. Bryce gave a brief nod to show he understood before drawing his swords and tossing one to his father. He switched his remaining sword to his right hand and took up a position behind Cutter.

Sha'uri number two on the moon moved swiftly through the complex, even shifting through the walls, to where the device was holding Shati. Connecting that link to Shati's soul, Sha'uri then attempted to remove her from it without killing her. One try is all she'd spend before just pulling her out of the contraption and keeping hold to her soul.... She'd promised to keep her soul safe. Time was running out, the walls were hot and the place trembled as it was being sucked down into the hot magma core of the planet.........

"Come on Shati!!"

**********

From her location in the heavens, Sha'uri number three knew, felt, heard and saw all that went on with her other two counterparts. Knowing the name of the spirit of Maya, she conversed with Corellon to find the location of the woman's soul.....

*********

Pain.. sorrow... loss. She - Sha'uri number one- knew it all too well and it hit her hard, enough for her to take a step back. She could relate and was reminded of that pain. Though, seeing Triv and Bryce now gave her the strength she needed to stay and not fold.

The name of Maya meant nothing to her, nor the situation Cutter had described. Still, that didn't lessen the wave of emotion she sensed from him. All that sorrow... how she herself had been down that low before, just wanting to die.

Her eyes misted, expression set hard, forcing herself to keep her stance, to keep her defense up and ready, to keep her emotions from physically moving her. Though, her hands trembled just a little as did her voice.

"I'm no goddess... and I know your pain, know what it's like to lose someone you love that deeply. But, I had nothing to do with her death, nor the ascention of her soul. Another guardian must've taken her. But why didn't you try to have someone ressurrect her? Were you so angry with the gods that you couldn't bring yourself to ask? I doubt her soul was obliterated from just an explosion. Or is that what you've been trying to do with this ... with Shati and Tina? You've been trying to recreate Maya haven't you... so that she would be with you when you sought your revenge. What would she say? Really, If she knew what you were doing to others... right now if she were standing here, what would she say? You've got to stop this. It's not too late. Just stop... now. Turn it around..."

:: Her eyes slowly opened while inside the machine...Sha'uri had given her enough time to see everyhting around her..and it was long enough for her to bring up a picture of Maya on the screen...inside that machine she was everywhere and nowhereher mind able to see through time and space itself...when the picture was brought up so was the long term history of the woman...she had met cutter...or as known here Jack Davidson..at one of the local clubs..they had gone out for many months until Jack had proposed to her and she accepted..on the day of their departure the military went to try out a new weapon on several known rebels and rogues near their area...and when she had came out into the open she was immediately shot down because she did not get the notice to evacuate the area.....Soul Collector...was the name of the weapon to collect the souls of the individual so that when they were killed they could be immediately ressurected in the prison cells..providing easier capture...however what went wrong was instead of collecting the souls..each was shattered into many pieces..its no wonder he couldn't ressurect her..he did not have the power::

Sha'uri..I cant stop the countdown..even if the system is damaged beyond..he will try and destroy the moon using its natural forces on Exodii...the only one that can stop this now is Cutter...I'm sorry

:: Quickkly however she gets out of the machine somehow with strong concentration she keeps ahold of her soul long enough to get over to SHa'uri so they can escape::

You think its that easy...just turn it around...I tried and tried and tried to bring her back....destroying demons and angels for the power I needed....no I woul never ask the gods..why should I..it was their own people that caused her to die...I would ask my loves murderers to bring her back

:: He laughs once more his voice in pain as he coughed his hands waving to destroy the devil hounds guarding him..there was little need anymore::

I dont know what Maya would have wanted..I never got that chance to find out

:: His eyes turn behind him in slow motion:: I would suggest you stay back...even if your Necromncer destroys the gate I will still ahve MY ppower..did you think NEcromancy was all I had...I spent over two centuries in books trying to find a way...the magics that I know you are no match for...if anyone is going to kill me..let it be one from Exodii..a fitting end I must say

The Headmaster manages to undo the wards that surround the base and flies directly to the gate within. He collapses the gate with a fair amount of work. His scrying ward he left behind, relays to him what has transpired at the Citadel. He flies back to the surface calling to his spirits. They all come to him bearing a small white orb. Briarius teleports back to the Citadel.

"You have risked millions of lives in exchange for one! Although distastefult o me, I will not abide by it! If getting your Maya back will save this world, then so be it. Mistress Sha'uri, after this madman deactivates the device, allow him the death that will rejoin him with what I am about to give him...

...and tell Tina her daddy loves her...always."

The small white orbs fly around Briarius as he begins to intone a spell that most people thought was only legend. The Headmaster's soul rises from his body and seems to be transferring energy to the orbs which are coalescing into the soul of Maya. In one final burst, Maya's soul is restored, but the Headmaster's soul has been shattered and is gone. The spirit of Maya stands where the Headmaster's once was and his body falls dead to the ground.

Bryce lowered his sword when the necromancer addressed him, a look of disgust adorning his features. "I wouldn't foul my blade with your blood, you sloppy, wet streak of piss."

The look on Triv's face mirrored Bryce's. "People like you shouldn't be allowed to simply die your way out of things. Make all the excuses you like, Cutter. You're still a coward and a dog." He watched as Briarius began his spell casting. A curse escaped his lips as the headmaster's body slumped to the floor. "What in the name of everything good has he done?"

They did not forsake love..you turned your back on them...you know what you have done is not the way....if you fix this I shall forgive you..but if you do not..i'm sorry my love but they are right..one life should not mean the sacrifice of millions...and a little girl love...you would do all that on a little girl

:: the figure begins to tear up as she shakes her head in sadness...Cutter all he can do is weep to her words the harsh truth hurting more than the lie he had built...but slowly he rises::

I will fix this...I shall..but the moon is ablout to implode without my say..the system wont stop the countdown...:: he sighs and then looks to the fallen headmaster..then back to his love they both nod...and soon the figure vanishes when he closes his eyes::

Thirteen I have taken into my form I call apon you all for one more summon...Shi, Doi ,Matic, Cil. Vras, Omic, Oni, Sinda, Sul,Wil,Qui,pouni, and lastly Shetia demoness of the Gate..open these gates once more I command thee and give my the power of Sacrifice!

:: One by one as each demons name is called and each angel is heard they appear around him in a circle...each granting him the power..each being destroyed as they did so before his body suddenly explodes in a burst of white light rushing forth to the moon..one beam however helped gather together the headmaster to bring him back to his body before joining the team of white as it engulfs the moon::

Now my thirteen..restore what we have destroyed!::

:: Soon the moon was being restored his monstrous contraption being disentegrated before their very eyes until it shot off envelopeing far away tina and Shati slowly erasing what horrid memories they held until Cutter once more reappeared infront of them::

"What in the name of everything good has he done?"

Sha'uri stood there in disbelief.. almost. She shook her head to Triv's question as she watched Bri's form land on the floor lifeless. Her thoughts reached out to Triv.
~I don't know, Babe... just don't know for sure... except maybe chaos in its worst form. I don't feel so good...~

She looked a bit pale, but that was due to Bri's death. There had been a link there between them...akin to that of a dragon and rider. Her swords were slowly put back into the sheath as people just kept popping in and out doing all kinds of things..... her brain felt numb and remained that way until Cutter showed up again.

Her demeanor seemed to darken as she looked to Cutter once he finally reappeared after all that.

"Indeed .. no.. you should not be allowed to die your way out of things. I don't care if she forgives you... because I don't. I don't even care if you've fixed things.. it does not make up for what you did, especially to Tina. I know what you did to her..."

And then she darkened even more, eyes began to flare with dark sapphire flame. Something evil stirred then, a darkness Sha'uri had always held down within herself. Not today.

"I...accept my fate..."

Dark Emerald, nearly black, fire flared in her orbs. Her voice was abnormally harsh, commanding authority that could not be ignored.

"You're right you will accept it because you are damned! I should curse you, Jack Davidson, to suffer a thousand years in limbo! I'll not kill you today. No... you don't deserve death for that would be merciful, nor do you deserve to be with Maya now, or ever. Did you really think you could do what you wanted, how you wanted, whenever you wanted and get away with it? YOU ARE IN EXODII!!"

Spit shot out from between her teeth as she screamed at Cutter in a voice that would make a banshee paralyzed. And with one motion of her hand towards Maya's spirit... Sha'uri sent Maya away, into the heavens where she belonged. In the next motion, her fist came crashing up swiftly into Cutter's jaw.....followed by another, then a kick ... She had every intention of beating him stupid. Sha'uri was also literally going into a beserked rage.

The form fizzled into view as it was teleported in by the door, the look of worry and surprise on his face. He's watched the schoolmaster collapse and could do nothing to stop his mother. She was what held him frozen by the door with terror. He'd never, ever seen that look on her face, marring her beautiful features with hatred and blood lust. It unnerved him but not enough to keep him from action.

"Mother! No!"

Triv nodded at Bryce and moved towards Sha'uri. He took his time getting to her. Better to let her get it out of her system, he figured. He caught sight of Alex pointing the phaser, however, and his sword clattered to the floor. Triv lunged, reaching Sha'uri just in time to catch her after she was struck with the beam from the phaser. "Are you mad?!" The words came out as more of growl.

Bryce quickly moved to stand between his parents and Cutter. "One step, Cutter, and I'll show you a whole new world of pain the likes of which you can't even imagine." The air seemed to coalesce around his free hand and a sword took shape. The blade seemed to be made of heavy mist and blue sparks danced up the length of the weapon. He was taking no chances. He spoke over his shoulder, keeping his eyes on the necromancer. "Easy, Father. She might have torn you apart had you got between her and Cutter."

"Indeed"

It was the Headmaster's voice, coming from his lifeless body. The body made no moves, but the voice continued.

"It seems my preparations were not enough to predict this particular outcome."

The amulet...the voice was coming from his amulet which now was glowing with a pale red light.

"Though fortunately for me, over a millenia in the multiverse had taught me a few tricks to be prepared with. Master Davidson, now that you have seen the error of your ways and the horrors you wrought in the name of vengance, I will initiate your sentence."

A narrow beam of red light opens a portal to Limbo which seems to draw Cutter in.

Searing hot pain shot through her whole nervous system as she was shot in the one of the few places along her spine that could've made her paralyzed. Alex was a good shot, even in his terrified state, knowing of those few points to target. He hit one dead on and she was down instantly.

Though she couldn't move for several long minutes, she was fully aware of what was going on around her. Most people would've lost consciousness being hit anywhere on the body by that phaser. STill, she couldn't move though she felt Triv catch her and pull her close in his arms. She could feel his anger towards... a lot of things.

Her breathing was labored, raspy as if she were still struggling in that beserked state. In fact, she was for a few moments until the peace she usually felt in Triv's arms finally seeped in and calmed the rage inside of her. It helped, too, that she heard Briari's voice from somewhere.

After all that anger, followed by such peace... it drew tears to her eyes, the only part of her that could still function normally. It would be a few more minutes before she could even speak, a few more before she would be able to move, though her thoughts were quite open to Triv and Brairi.

~Triv... Love....Alex did right. I spoke of forgiveness with Tina ... to forgive Cutter and I was not following through. Alex had every right to stop me, for there is a level of darkness that I would not be able to turn from. I just can't let that happen...He knew this.~

She closed her eyes tightly to force the tears from them, restoring her vision as she blinked them open.

~Briari this is wrong... Close the portal into Limbo. If Tina is to have any closure with this, she and Shati must come face to face with him. I think we should put his fate into their hands. Where have you hidden Tina?~

******

Sha'uri number two had taken Shati up into the heavens until they came to calm pool of water where she used it to scry down upon those in the Citadel. Seeing things calm down, she pointed to the images.

"looks like the fight's over. You ready to go there?"

~Thanks, Briari.~

Sha'uri number one finally began to move a little, shifting her head to gaze at Briari's still form on the floor. She finally began to understand what Bri had done, sensing a sliver of his soul still around there. His sword began to warm slightly as a halo of light illuminated it softly, giving the pieces of his soul a stronger beacon to be drawn to. It was all she could do for the moment to help him pull all those scattered pieces of himself back together.

*******

Sha'uri number three managed to collect what portions of Briari's soul that she could and flung them back down towards his body.

*******

Likewise, as Sha'uri number two came to the citadel, (with or without Shati), she gathered other portions of Briari's soul and brought them with her. Kneeling down by Briari's body, she put her hand upon his sword and the other over the amulet and there she began to chant softly, calling all the pieces of Briari's soul to her and to the thing they were drawn to.... putting them into the amulet...

"Are you mad?!"

Alexander cringed when his mother fell. He cringed even more hearing the voice of his new father growl at him. What a way to start a relationship... He almost dropped the phaser and ran, but the training he'd recieved kept his feet planted firmly in their place.

"Medical and Clerical teams to the training room. Stat!"

His hands shook as he lowered the phaser, so did his voice as he called for the teams. Not that they were needed, but he had no way of knowing that. He wasn't going to take a chance.

"What in ball blazes....?"

He muttered as he now looked at two of his mother, the newest having entered and now kneeling by Brirari. He entertained the thought of having the computer locate her, but he was too certain it would tell him that thEy were both in the room and he wasn't halucinating.

Seeing that this second one was doing something... he held off the two teams from disturbing her with Briari as they entered. Instead, he directed them over to the one he'd shot in the back. They began to check over Sha'uri number one, giving her something to help counteract the paralyzing effect.

As the medical team approached, Sha'uri assured Triv.

"It's okay.. They know what to do."

Sure enough, the team injected her with an adrenaline mix and her full arsenal of movement came back almost immediately. As the team moved away, Sha'uri sat up and gave Triv a kiss on the cheek. Then with his help, she stood up. Gazing over to Tina, she held her arms out to her daughter, whom she could only imagine was not only bewildered but perhaps even a bit scared.

"Tina.. come here. He's not going hurt you and your father will be all right in a little bit. You and Shati can decide Cutter's fate if you want. I was going to dump him in Limbo, a place where nothing happens, no sound, no light, nothing of substance to feel... it's a total and complete nothing, but those cast there are fully aware of it all. In some respects, it's worse then hell. However, it's only right that it's up to you and Shati ... unless you just want to forgive him."

She let that last part trail pointedly, as if forgiveness was the hardest thing but the right thing to do.

Triv smiled when Sha'uri kissed him on the cheek and helped her stand. He already regretted taking that tone with Alex. He'd have to try to remember that Alex wasn't like his brother. Bryce would have simply growled back. That was how their relationship worked. It had taken quick thinking and a fair amount of guts to do what Alex had done. He made a mental note to apologize when he got the chance. He sidled away from Sha'uri and retrieved his sword. He decided to stand back and let her handle the situation with Tina.

Bryce looked from his mother back to the necromancer. Forgive? He wasn't so sure about that. Forgiveness was important, sure, but so was justice. He lowered swords a fraction but held them at the ready. He didn't want to scare the little girl but he still wanted to be ready if Cutter turned aggressive. He supposed it was important for Tina's piece of mind for her to forgive the man but that didn't change the fact that he deserved to be punished. Had he forgiven the two men from Caer Dac when they had taken his father's soul hostage? Had he and Triv forgiven the orcs that had taken Dwyndan's life? He met his father's gaze, then, and saw him give a slight shake of his head. He knew Triv was trying to tell him to calm down. Now isn't the time. Bryce nodded and took a deep breath. He would wait.

Sha'uri number two stood with Briari. As if to seal in what the Headmaster was saying, this one said nothing but moved round to stand a few feet behind Jack. By the body posture, it was evident that she was ready to do any action should it be needed. A sly smile was sent in her husband's direction, gaze shifting to both her son's, a nod for Shati's words and a wink to Tina. Then her gaze came back with intent on Jack.

Meanwhile, A handful of Citadel guards came in, moving to surround the situation, Garin by Briari ... Mick sauntered in by Triv .... Leona and Kara moved in to either side of Sha'uri number two ... all without directions being said.

*********

Sha'uri number one held all the emotion in her, watching Shati step up to forgive Jack. She held Tina in her arms until then. With a kiss on her cheek, she set the girl back down though she laid a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

"Whenever you're ready... you just tell him what you think is right."

Then she looked to Jack. She didn't see him but rather saw the memory of her rapist and wondered if she could really forgive him, give him a second chance at life or if she'd just end him and be done with it.. or take away all his power, make him vulnerable as he'd done to her.. then cast him aside like a piece of garbage. And as she thought about what he did compared to what Cutter did, it wasn't so hard to forgive her rapist. She finally felt peace about it and let go of that pain.

As for Cutter, she realized something as her gaze finally saw him. He really did seem different from when she saw him in the Inn. Then he'd seemed almost crazed with power, lust, vengence almost too similar to the guy that had raped her.. and she realized the power Jack was weilding is what had currupted him, used him, in many ways raped his soul as he'd done to others.. or had something forced him to it, using his own desire for vengence?

Sha'uri took another, closer look at Jack Davidson to see if some demonic presence was around, near or even attached to his soul... for it would certainly explain the kind of power Jack Davidson was able to weild... why he seemed to heal so quickly from the beating she'd given him.

Bryce smiled when Tina hugged Cutter. That was certainly unexpected. He'd come down here expecting bloodshed and carnage and instead there were apologies and forgiveness. Ah well. At least it didn't look like anyone was going to be seriously hurt. He certainly would've liked to square off with Cutter, though. At first, Sha'uri looked at Jack as if he were insane... and he probably was.

"I just offered you a life with Maya and you want to still be punished? Put away from her? My intent is not experimentation on you or anyone else. I'm giving you a chance to Atone for your transgressions, and in fact you will feel the effects of the Gias placed in conjunction with your atonement. Headmaster Briarius is right... that your road will be a hard one to travel, but I tell you that if you succeed the rewards will be worth it all."

She frowned, resolved of her decision.

"Atonement is never achieved so easily... and in doing so a reward of being with Maya if she so chooses first to be alive or even with you. I only said that I would try to bring her back as that is all anyone can really do. If she does not want to be, then she will not be. You, however, will not know until you try... Limbo is not an option unless you regress and mar your clean slate with doing things of the past, which will also mar Maya's chances. Her life as a mortal is in your hands. This is your punishment. Otherwise, as far as the natural order of things go... she had her chance in life here and now she's in the heavens. It is the Natural Order."

With his words, the chanting seemed to subside and fade away.

"Yes, Jack. That's it."

Her voice soothing, understanding. Sha'uri knew how he felt.

"I know it's hard, I know what it's like. Yeah, I've been in a similar situation.. in that I lost someone very dear to me as you have. See that guy over there?"

She nodded towards Triv.

"I know ... Trust me when I tell you, you can do this and come out right. Hang on to that hope and don't let go. It will be your guiding light to find the right strength within yourself."

She gently squeezed Jack's shoulder.

"Come on, Jack. Let's get you a room and some rest. I think we all need a rest..."

She held a hand out to him and waited for him to take it.

:: He nods a bit listening to her..feeling a bit more..whole now he carefully takes her hand and rises up..he seemed older...more frail than the tyrant they had faced::

Rest..yes..rest is nice....so long since...:: a small smile and nods to the idea before looking down to Tina...a soft sad smile given before he would let himself be lead away from the girl and anyone else that may be left behind..a cell...a room..it didn't matter...he was finally back on the right track::
