She moved through the town of RhyDin and made her way near to the Market area. Sha'uri found the old building that used to house the small complex where Exodii City used to sell its wares.

The portal was still there, a portculus between the buildings leading back into the courtyard area, a pathway big enough to take two wagons side by side. Vines now grew over and around it signalling it's long absense of use, not even just to move a wagon from the front area into the back. No one had bothered it in all this time.

It wasn't surprising that no one had used it. The Portal had been out of commission since the days of the Change upon Secak. Rightly so, for the Realm of Secak was no longer where it had been, changed once to a universe and then again it shifted leaving only a solar system.

All the portals leading to/from Secak were naturally shut down, the magic broken. Even the one at the light house used to move ships into RhyDin Harbor.... she often wondered who had bought the little island, but that was a tangent best left for another time.

Today, she looked at the small complex, the deed in hand claiming ownership of the buildings. She even brought materials to start cleaning up the place.

She could imagine Alex on the flipside putting in place the jump gate in Exodii. Tomorrow, he'd be here putting in the one for RhyDin side and then the testing would commence for the next week or two, making sure the two were set properly and that all was working as it should.

Soon, very soon, the trade routes would be fixed and business between RhyDin and Exodii City would be open again. Travel would no longer be an issue between .....

A few weeks after the New Year began, Sha'uri finally finished cleaning up the stores and warehouse on RhyDin while Alex finally finished taking out the old portals and putting in and testing the jumpgates, making sure they were safe. It was then she finally announced the opening of the jumpgate portal between Exodii City and RhyDin and that the stores could be open for business.

In Exodii..

A huge building was placed over the road in the center of Exodii city harboring the jumpgate portal. This was to ensure travel in winter would not find those from RhyDin walking unaware into a deadly freeze zone in the arctic mid winter month of January on Exodii, but instead moving into the safety of a huge barn, for all intents and purposes. This barn would help house horses and goods temporarily. Business could commence as it used to do so long ago when the Woodshadows ruled the city.

In RhyDin...

The Gate in RhyDin is located on the east west road along the northern side of the river towards the western edge, almost directly across the river from Belarus Corp.-Port. A few blocks North gave easy access to the Market area. Directly south of the Gate along the beachfront were the warehouses and the Woodshadow-Arrowny private beach house. North of the Portal was the cluster of four shops, the Exodii Enterprises, nestled together along that corner of the block.

Travel using the Gates....

Travel through the gates would be limited to either walking or vehicles no wider then a wagon, nor moving through faster then a walking pace and certainly not flying in the air over the height limit of 15 feet. Four gaurds were placed to each destination side of the portal to help direct the flow of traffic not only through the portal but those passing by and around it on the street. The portal is wide enough to allow two wagon loads side by side if necessary. Four more guards are on the Exodii side. The guards were there to make sure that all coming in or out were properly noted and checked.

Also, there were no fees for travel through the portal, though a general search would commence for everyone going through, along with some questioning ... for example: name, reason for travel, expected length of stay. .

As an added insurance, an anti magic zone was centered covering everything fifty feet from the portal. Teleportation, other Gate magics and transporter type technology were also blocked within the same range.
