((OOC Note: The following post was written with the cooperation of Sarah's player. Batosai's lines are in red, Sarah's are blue.))
A golden bracelet flickered on Sarah's wrist while she listened to Batosai. Her fingers twiddled as she processed what he said before the door opened and the receptionist entered with some warm chai tea. One mug was placed before the feline and the other before Sarah, who nodded her thanks and gave a warm smile. Shifting in her spot, golden specked eyes watched the receptionist leave before she spoke to Batosai. "What, may I ask, is your condition?" Knowing full well that Batosai would have to under-go a physical with Dilyn before he could fully teach.
For a moment the predator frowned. He'd hoped to avoid specifics, however it seemed that wasn't an option here. With a quick nod, he explained, "It is known among my people as the Hunger. My body consumes a form of energy which we know as Shii'Koh. I must hunt and feed off the energy of prey, or else my body will begin to consume itself. I have learned ways to manage the Hunger, but it is a fact that all of my race so afflicted will eventually succumb."
"Will this be a risk to the school?" Both her brows lifted upwards as her curiousity grew. One leg folded over the other, the planes walker curiously studying the male as if he had more to discuss. Golden red hair fell over her shoulder, her finger tangling in a few strands.
Baosai shook his head quickly, "No. Part of my own training enabled me to recognize the warning signs that he Hunger is waking in me, allowing me to hunt before it grows too strong to control. I can assure you there will be no danger to the students. Be aware though that I may be absent from time to time."
"No more absent than Khoom is from time to time I assure you." She gave him a faint smile before switching gears. "What skills can you offer the institute?" Of course, Sarah kept her composure, though she didn't normally do the interviewing. Rin said he was dealing with acceptance letters, but she didn't entirely think it was true. Something was amiss with her Dean of Students and she was going to have to attend to that matter eventually.
The matter of the Hunger dealt with, Batosai nodded again, "It is my intention to offer two primary fields of training to your students. The first is known as Shaping among my people. It is the ability to physical alter and control the matter around us. The other is the ability to control and use the Shii'Koh energy I mentioned. This training also involves an amount of martial arts."
"Shape shifting, or the use of magic to shift forms?" One brow rose upwards as she asked this question. A small grin was forming on her lips, her toes wiggled a bit. She shifted right before the feline's eyes, so that a black kirn sat right before him. "Granted I can't do it with magic."
A soft chuckle answered the woman's question and display, "No. It is not shape shifting, but the shaping of elements." Batosai demonstrated, hovering a hand over his tea, moving his hand in a circular motion, the tea floated up out of the cup and hovered in the air for a few moments before descending again. "Shaping is divided by elements, though it is possible for a skilled student to learn multiple elements."
"I see." Her muzzle wiggled a little as a smile blossomed on her face. She leaned back, golden gaze locking on him. "Do you have any refrences, anyone who could vouge for your character?" Granted, policy was policy, but she could feel he had plenty to offer them.
This time Batosai shook his head, "I do not know, other than my mate Suri, there are few people on this world I have made connections with."
"Any of them Kirn?" Her head tilted to the side. "Because if so, I'm sure they could give me proper information. Kirn are very observant."
"I have seen several Kirn on the magic isle, however I do not know their names." He proceeded to describe Misty and Dilynrae.
She nodded, knowing exactly who he was discribing and making note to speak with them. "Where are you presently staying?"
"I live in a cabin in the southern forest."
"Very well. I must inform you, that there is always rooms on the grounds. All the teachers actually live within the main part of the Estate... Well aside from the weapons master, who insists on living on the side grounds." Both her fingers laced together, a gentle smile on her lips. Her frame leaned to the side as she murmured. "When I have reviewed your refrences. You are welcome to stay on the grounds."
"Understood. Thank you for the consideration."
"You are more than welcome, Batosai." She shifted back into the golden red headed woman and murmured. "I would like to remind you, that I don't appreciate harm coming to my students. Whatever your hunger feeds off of, with proper warning, whatever you feel you need to do to, assistance will be given."
The predator nodded quickly, "I understand. At the moment I have been confining my hunting to the werewolves and feral dragons which inhabit the forests near my home."
"Werewolves are people, feral dragons might offend Icer," She grinned," But to be quite honest, feed as you like, if you provide us with specifics, we shall see what we can't do for you. Perhaps Dilyn, can help find a way to fend off this hunger, or cure it."
"Perhaps." The feline didn't believe it, and it his voice betrayed that.
She shook her finger a little. "When I first met Harper, A'rus' prize student, she had an issue with her psionics as well as her concintration due to shrapnel lodged thoughout her brain. There was no help for her in any way, until Dily came around and suggested something. Dilyn is the best at what she does, and I'm quite sure that if there is anything that can be done for you, she will work night and day to figure it out."
"I do not doubt her abilities. The Hunger is something which my race has dealt with for generations. We have found no 'cure' in that time, nor have any of the other races who have tried to 'cure' us. I simply do not believe it can be cured."
"Well, if permitted. I would like for her to do a physical and take samples if you'd like?" The physical he'd have to understand, was not to be objected to, but samples, however, is something he could object to.
The feline nodded slowly, "I understand."
"Good, I reccomend you make an appointment with Dilyn as soon as possible while I review your refrences and learn a bit more about you." She gave him a kind smile. "I will be in touch with you tomorrow." Despite the clutter and chaos, Sarah worked fast.
Batosai finished his tea and stood, bowing his head to Sarah, "Thank you again. I will speak with your healer before I leave."
"Thank you, Batosai. I look forwards to our next meeting." Sarah nodded, her fingers twisting over her bracelet slowly. "Have a good day."
"And you." The feline turned to make his way out.
