Ember Pallin cued the com link to the frequency Misty had given him. He tapped the call button four times as instructed and waited for the message bot to pickup. Hearing the tone he spoke.

~Ember Pallin here. Message for Misty. I spoke with you the other night about transport to either Star's End Space Station or to my Imperial Dreadnaught the Bi-Duran. I am ready to depart this morning. What docking bay are you located at? The bot should have my frequency code. Ember Pallin out.~

He would take no chances broadcasting his com link code, or stating where he was. In fact, he was on the move. He didn't have much on him when he stayed some place. Just enough supplies in a back pack, and his cloak. He was away finding a new place to lodge in, ever on the move to avoid tracing.

Misty shot upright from her bunk, glaring at the oddly silent alarm clock. Noooo, that wasn't the noisy thing. Oh! The comm. Duh.

She listened to the message, and yelped!

"Fardles, the flight!!!"

She keyed in a reply quickly.

"Docking Bay fifty-three, prepped for depp in twenty, max!"

Then she shot out of bed like a cannon went off, dashing here and there to get things ready!!!!

He got the message on his com link. Walking the west end of the slums, Ember found a perfectly good motorcycle, belonging to some gang rift raft, unattended in the street.

"Looks like their loss." he mused. He placed his pack on the black racing motorcycle, and mounted it.

Shout from an alley way where a craps game was being held caught his attention for a moment. Seemed the owner had a different view about his beloved bike. Ember just grinned as the hulking human and a few lackeys came out of the alley waving planks with nails and a few short swords.

"Where ye head with me bike runt?" grunted the huge human. He looked like a bouncer that mated with a lumber jack.

"Your bike? I am sorry, but your bike is back there a few blocks down." he didn't do the mind trick gesture most Force users did. He had no need with his unique acquaintance with the Force.

The large guy looked at him a moment, blinked his brown eyes and looked for his bike. The lackeys were puzzled at what the boss was doing. Ember touched the bike with his gloved, metal hands and the motorcycle roared to life. Another look over his shoulders and he grinned. The gang was bewildered as the big guy picked a fight with a rightful owner. He was a Force Balancer, one who kept the scales of good and evil level. Nothing said he couldn't tip the scale a tad.

The motorcycle squealed as he headed for the launching docks and right for docking bay 53. He pulled up with 5 minutes to spare taking in the sight of the Fur'za Flyin' ship. He was impressed. Dismounting he waited for Misty to show.

Woe be to the pilot who didn't sleep with her ship! It took all of a minute to don jumpsuit and boots, another thirty seconds to get EmFive on flight prep, and a precious two minutes hammering on the cabin door of her first mate.

"Horam!!! HORAM!!!! Get up! It's time to go! We've got work to do!!!"

If he wasn't up in two minutes, she was piping the Looing Cows soundtrack into his quarters!

Misty popped up into the bridge, her eyes quickly scanning the surroundings. Fardles, he was early! Well, time to make as good an appearance as any! She raced out of the bridge, slapping the bay door control on the way out. It would be down by the time she hit the cargo deck, so as to step onto the ramp.

"Morning! Welcome aboard the Fur'za Flyin'!"

Ember Pallin

Ember smiled to Misty for a moment. "Quite cheerful this morning. Interesting ship you have."

He walked toward Misty up the ramp, running a gloved, metal hand over the hull of the Furz'a Flyin' in a loving way. One of the few telling signs that Ember Pallin was a spacer, that he own his own ship.

"Fine looking vessel indeed. What type is she?" he asked Misty. The only cargo he had was his back pack and himself. Light saber hanging off his belt as well as a very odd looking blaster.

Misty

"Danku! The Fur'za's a Kay-Ay Bronco light frieghter, but I've had some stuff added to it. So, where to?"

She beamed at him, smiling broadly, as she led him up to the main lift.

Ember Pallin

Date: 2009-08-13 23:54 EST
"I've just tracked my ship. The Imperial Dreadnaught Bi-Duran is over head as we speak. It would be more prudent to dock with my ship. From there I can get to Stars End Space station on my own. And don't forget. Once docked, you will be inside my cloaking field. It will give us some time to find suitable compensation for your time." Another grin.

The he looked over his shoulder for a moment. "Do you mind if I bring the motorcycle along?"

Misty

Date: 2009-08-14 01:20 EST
She smiled, broadly. "Oh sure, that's fine. There's tie-downs over there, since I can't knock Horam outta bed just yet. I'll be putting up a cloaking field on the ship as soon as we close the door, and I do gotta ask that you don't touch me when it's up, or we'll lose it, m'kay?" This all came out in a rush as the lift reached the main corridor, and she took off towards the bridge. Speed was of the essence here!

Ember Pallin

Date: 2009-08-14 23:12 EST
He nodded to Misty with some surprise as he raised the motorcycle by Force and floated it in. He was quite familiar with cargo tie downs. Ember did look at Misty as she ran around. He had never heard of cloaking shield that ran off the captain. When Misty wasn't busy he would have to ask how it worked.

For now Ember made sure the motorcycle was secured and then found a place to seat and buckle up.

Misty

She dashed into the bridge, hopping into the pilot's seat, and starting an abbreviated pre-flight check, flipping switches and toggling buttons, listening to the engines whine to a satisfactory pitch.

"Everybody better buckle in, 'cause we're flyin's!"

The Fur'za lifted slowly from the pad, turning in mid-air to a random direction in the "up" category, and blasted off!

Once in the air, she looked over her shoulder at Ember.

"Okay, you wanna tell me where we're going before I put the cloak up?"

Ember Pallin

Date: 2009-08-17 22:00 EST
Ember smiled and cued up the plot points for their flight from his com link.

"The locations have been sent to your nav comp. Basically point us straight up. The Bi-Duran is 10 klicks away." He settled back, curious to watch this unique brand of cloaking at work.

Misty

Date: 2009-08-17 22:44 EST
"Okies! We'll go subsonic, just to be safes."

With that, she fed the coordinates into the computer, and closed her eyes, her tail twitching as the ship's lights dimmed dramatically. For anyone outside the ship, it was as if the Fur'za simply disappeared in midair! Stealthily, for a ship anyways, they flew onwards to the Bi-Duran.

Ember Pallin

Date: 2009-08-25 01:38 EST
Ember kept from distracting Misty as it was quite apparent that this cloaking tech was not a generator, but Misty herself.

As the Furz'a Flyin' sped on, Ember watched for his com link range meter to tell him he was in contact range of the Bi-Duran. Once in range he sent a tight beam message to the Dreadnaught. Wouldn't do to get blown out of space by his own ship.

The space before the Furz'a Flyin', about 1 mile away would shimmer and the Bi-Duran, painted pitch black running a myriad of light floated to view. It easily dwarfed the Furz'a Flyin' as it was 900 meters long with several LAZ cannons pointed in their direction.

Flight directions would soon beep at Misty on her navigation computer that was sent by the Bi-Duran for a safe approach vector. Ember breathed a sigh of relief to see the ship in one piece and that the droids on board had repaired most of the damage from the space battle he was in two months ago.

He opened his com link and spoke. "Bi-Duran, Captain Ember Pallin, Right Hand of the Sith Imperium, deactivation code Alpha-Trinity-Zara-Tan-Lu."

*Confirmed Captain Pallin. Welcome home. The Bi-Duran misses you.* the computer chirped over his com link.

Misty

Date: 2009-08-25 02:58 EST
She breathed a sigh of relief as they glided into the hangar bay, letting the cloak drop as the landing gear came down. She took a few moments to breathe, then wiped a film of sweat from her brow, before looking back at Ember.

"Okies, we're here!" The unspoken question? *Now what?*

Ember Pallin

Date: 2009-08-25 16:02 EST
Ember just grinned and opened the hatch. A raise of his metal hand and the cargo straps fell from the bike. The bike rolled forward as if on its own will and into the massive cargo bay. Ember walked down the Furz'a Flyin' ramp and beckoned Misty to follow.

"Welcome to the Bi-Duran. Human occupancy, 1. Droids, 12. I mostly do salvaging missions during wars and offer support fire. You have gotten me to my ship, now then, let's get you paid." Ember grinned.

He would lead Misty to a turbolift and descend 6 decks to the cargo holds. Each bay had varying salvaged items, ranging from medical equipment that Riverview Clinic is now sporting, to Cloning tanks that Whisper Paws Clinic are still waiting for, to military armor plating, shield generators, whole laser systems, and more. One cargo room was full of every size, make, and model of astromech and repair droids.

Ember let Misty look at it all and chuckled a little. "I was born in space, and a spacer I am. I have been salvaging since I was 15. Please take a look through the bays and let me know what you want."

Misty

Date: 2009-08-25 20:25 EST
She followed quietly, and when they arrived, she looked around whistling softly.

"Wow ... ummmmmm ... well, I'd like to get a bit more oomph outta my engines, and get some more lift that way. More Tee-To-Double-You means more pay, right? * giggle * Ummmmm ... Oh! Do you has any small repair 'droids? I'd like some of those in the engine compartments, just in case."

She giggled again, looking around for a while, making mental notes of things that she found interesting or useful. Finally, she tallied up the weight to around seven tons of salvage and parts. With that in mind, she went to meet back up with Ember, and get down to haggling!

Misty would run into an ancient looking C-3P0 unit that was tarnished bronze in color. The droid was more than happy to escort Misty to Captain Pallin. He was in the aft cargo bay, on deck 13B. After several minutes of walking and 2 turbolifts, they would arrive on Deck 13B Cargo Bay.

Ember was in the middle of the bay, right in the middle of what appeared to be a war zone. He was dodging blaster fire, attack drones, and two droids wielding lightsabers. He didn't look worried and when hitting one of the droids it shut down with no damage.

All around the bay was a few placards and pictures of young kids and adults. Most would have Ember with them shaking hands, hugging, and dueling with sabers with ease. A name was under each one. The most recent additions showed two Lupinossi. One was a younger looking, wild eyed Ammy Spiritor, the other was a very spirited Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor.

Soon, the fighting was done, and Ember extinguished his violet lightsaber. He saw Misty and smiled walking for her.

"I see by the light in your eyes, and the thoughts in your head, you have found what you need?" a grin was among that red, short trimmed beard.

Misty

She giggled, after watching the display. "Yup! I brought a list for you to look over. Tell me what you think!"

Ember Pallin

Date: 2009-08-27 00:32 EST
Ember took the list and looked it over nodding in approval, then stopped a moment. He looked at what she wanted to use for engine upgrades.

"How fast do you want the Furz'a to travel? 'Cause if you want fast, I have a storage bay you will love to see with better upgrades."

Ember kept the list and waved for her to follow him. 10 minutes later, going so far down in the bowels of the Bi-Duran, you would think they'd run out of ship, but nestled deep inside was a small bay with hundreds of star drive systems. Mostly Correllian or Calamari line systems, but there were a few Kessel, Kuatti, and Mandalore systems lying about. To one side were upgrades for a Star Fleet ship, and he even had converters and dynamos for an old Firefly Hauler.

"Take a look around here before you make a final decision." he was being very generous. He was happy to have his only home he had known for years to be intact still.

Misty

Date: 2009-08-27 00:46 EST
"Wow." That was all she could say after following Ember around and down to the cargo bay!

"Ummmmm ... well, her FTL is fast enough, but I thought maybe some extra atmospheric thrust would be a good thing? In case of emergencies?"

She wondered what Horam would make of all this ...

Ember Pallin

Date: 2009-08-27 17:59 EST
"Extra Atmo thrust eh?" Ember rubbed his red beard in thought and began moving about the various engine systems.

His mind was putting together the various factor he had seen from touching the Furz'a and what he felt from the ride up. More thrust was indeed something Misty's ship could use. He eyed a Kuatti Raptor Scram Jet kit for a moment, but knew there was better in this room. He moved on for a moment. A hybrid system wouldn't hurt her either.

5 minutes later he found what he needed. Cyber Dine HK 3000 Boost Jets along with a Corellian Grav Buffer and what the hell, throw in a Kuatti Pulse Amplifier and bingo! He turned and looked to Misty and pointed out the three systems.

"Mount the Cyber Dine HK 3000 Boost Jets were you like, tie in the Corellian Grav Buffer to your ships repulsor and lift jet systems, then run your power core feed line for the Boost Jets through the Kuatti Pulse Amplifier. Mach 20 will be in your grasp, and you can overdrive the boosts to squeeze out Mach 30 if your desperate. Warning though, it'll shred the Cyber Dines, and most likely tweak the Furza's frame. It'll give you enough boost to leave your fur behind." He laughed.

Looking at the rest of her list he just smiled. "And you can pick all of this up to when you're ready. I am not a hard nosed scavenger. Ask Dr. Valkonan, or Dr. Wolf."

Misty

Date: 2009-08-27 18:12 EST
She gaped for a moment, then giggled, clapped and squee'd with glee! It didn't take her long to have the agreed-upon salvage loaded, not when she'd had a couple lifter-'droids on the list too! Shortly thereafter, she had the Fur'za pointing nose-out towards the door of the hangar bay, and went to find Ember.

Ember Pallin

Date: 2009-08-27 21:35 EST
Ember would be found on the very empty bridge. It would look huge for having only one living crew member. He was looking over radar tracking and discussing something with an astromech droid.

"Raise shields, and cloak. Close the bays. Let's give the little snoop a surprise." Ember ordered calmly. He looked out the view port and made calculations in his head.

He knew Misty was there and waved her over to the view port without turning.

"I have welcome home visitors." His metal fingers pointed out to a Tagarian light cruiser and several scout ships closing in on them.

A barely visible shimmer would happen to indicate the Bi-Duran was cloaking. Ember looked over to Misty. "I hope you understand that I can't let you leave just yet with hostiles out there. Give me 10 minutes and it will be safe again."

As Ember spoke a barrage of green laz fire erupted from the Bi-Duran's port side lancing out and turning the scout ships into beautiful flowers fiery death. Hole were ripped open in the Light Cruiser, and within two minutes a brace of 8 proton torpedoes turned the Light Cruiser to slag. The Bi-Duran lurched a little as the AI sent the ship into a different course to keep their location secure.

Ember just chuckled and looked to Misty. "Okay, 10 minutes may have been too long. 3 minutes was all that was needed. Have you everything you need?"

Misty

Date: 2009-08-28 13:44 EST
She blinked, inwardly very sad for the loss of life, but knowing that this was the order of things.

"Yup, I think I do. We got everything loaded up, and I hope the astromech's can get to work as soon as we make port. Thank you again!"

Ember Pallin

Date: 2009-08-30 03:37 EST
"By all means then Misty. Safe travels, and I hope the salvage will help the Furza' Flyin'." Ember grinned and walked Misty to her ship.

He released the hangar bay locks and waved her off with an Imperial Salute and watched the ship leave. Ember turned, closed the hangar and walked for the bridge. He set course for Stars End Space Station. More repairs were needed still. Repairs beyond his droids capabilities, and he needed parts for a new shuttle.
