The radio tower stood a lonely skyscraper in a sea of forest vegetation. Rhy?din seemed to be full of forested land. It was full of other things as well, beings as varied and powerful as any he had ever known. It had been weeks since his encounter with Wanda, somehow he felt lucky she hadn?t attempted to kill him. His power wasn?t limitless even here though they had grown immensely. As a way of proving that to himself he pushed himself into the air with nothing more than a manipulation of magnetic fields. He could push himself skyward and travel this way. Previously he had been very reliant on manipulating a piece of metal to ride upon.

He flew nowhere though; instead he warped the signal coming from tower 12 of Reilly Recording and WHAM. It amused him greatly to think how the voice coming from the radios receiving was bent to unrecognizable pitches. Yas went from sounding like herself to sounding like a burly man in his fourties. He had nothing against the station, or the enigmatic DJ. No he was trying to attract the attention of someone much different. Would she be able to pick through his distortions and find the coded message he was making for her. His search of this place had revealed many who would make wonderful founders of his new brotherhood.

There were others to approach as well, some were obvious choices, and others would need to be wooed on a different level. Of those it was correct to say that it could go either way, and there would only be two choices. There would be some who agreed with him, the others would likely feel it their duty to stop him. This was how he liked it, and it was this that proved that Rhy?din and Earth may be different but they are also the same.

... And some he would have never expected.

There had been one part of this little family seemingly forgotten in the move from Earth to Rhydin. A woman that would not let herself be pushed aside...

... forgotten. Especially not by the man that sired her.

The energies being used to transform the tower would not go unnoticed by the girl haired woman. No, it was a a brief amusement that she watched the metal be twisted and reshaped by will alone.

And so it was that the green-haired woman floated above the tower as Max surveyed his handy work. Afterall, the power attracted her like... well a magnet.

"Well, hello, father." There was a smile on those green tinted lips.

Max looked over to Lorna, he gave her a nod that held delighted surprise in his eyes. ?Polaris?you managed to find your way into this place as well? I?ve already seen Wanda; she seems to be of mixed emotions towards me these days.? He gave a small frustrated sigh at the fact then turned to look across the cityscape. ?I hear Pietro is here somewhere, but haven?t seen him as of yet. The only one?s missing will be the dead.?

He regarded this place, it?s people called it Rhydin, a strange name if ever he heard it. He wondered idly what it translated to. ?Does this mean that Havoc will be making an appearance as well my dear?? He turned those calculating clear blue eyes to Lorna, and gave her a smile that had held many secrets. ?Will he stand in my way? Will Wanda, and Pietro or will they join me? Will you Lorna dear join me in cleansing this city so awash with violence between our own kind??

He had been here scant weeks in that time he had seen the empowered, some would term them mutants, engage in battles with one another. His term for their kind was Homos Superior, and he would defend that belief with all the power at his disposal. He had done so on many occasions. Of course what he termed defend others named terrorism. Is it terrorism to want to gift the whole world with empowerment? Surely not. So why did these super groups always seem to want his blood? A mutagenic bomb here and there that kill none and simply enhance mere humans isn?t a bad thing. Okay so they lacked any kind of control of themselves when the change came over them. A minor tweaking would solve that issue.

?I had thought to disperse some in the water supply but I fear no one drinks it here. They have an unnatural fear of it, a belief that if they drink the water something bad will happen to them. Is that not a ridiculous notion?? His grin was toothy in his amusement at the irony of the statement. ?The ale supply might be a good place to begin though. I will need a few more test subjects to see if the mutagen will stand up to being dispersed in alcohol.?

Was that a request for her to pick up a few volunteers? It might well have been. ?We need to fill our ranks if we are to survive long enough to see this through Polaris. Stay open to anyone you might deem worthy to join us.? His mirth became more serious then as he fixed his eyes on her face. ?It is us?isn?t it??

?Does this mean that Havoc will be making an appearance as well my dear? Will he stand in my way?"

She scoffed at the question about her former fiancee, "I do not know, and frankly I could care less if he does. He's too much of a Summers to not get in the way."

"Will Wanda, and Pietro or will they join me??

She looked over to the city were her siblings were, "Again another good question, but can you truly blame them? None of us knew who our true parents were until it was dropped on us like a lead balloon... Or we forced the issue." Geophysicist though she was, it didn't stop her from doing the baseline testing. "Wanda, I hear, is an Avenger still. Somethings do not change."

Will you Lorna dear join me in cleansing this city so awash with violence between our own kind?

A double edge comment to be sure. "That remains to be seen, father. I will not turn my back on you."

She waved off the idea of a mutagen, "Not a wise idea. I have been doing some research in my time here. There is enough Magic in this realm, aside from our own people to render such a plan useless. Would this place not be more ideal for a Utopia unlike any that could have been dreamed of on Earth?"

There was a slow smile on there lips, "Then let them come to us and throw themselves against our defenses."

The last question threw her for a moment, "Us, Father?"

There was arrogance in his smile, a feature that had crept into his life early on after the loss of wife. She who had run when he had so justly punished the mob that had killed baby Anya. "I could blame Magda for separating me from my children but what good to blame the dead...You are another matter Lorna. One that I hope shares my vision, you are right the war here is long since won."

He held a hand out for her, a chance to hold something closer than rage. An opportunity to bond father to daughter, would she accept him or reject what he represented. "There can be an us, if you would only choose it. You are welcome...your presence is desired in fact. I have seen what amounts to great talent in this place, to unify it under one cause would be a miracle. One that I don't believe can be accomplished." He turned blue eyes on her they were shining with possibilites.

"I have heard tell of a force called Nexus, this is something we should look at deeper Polaris. I think that there are things in our future...assuming you want to be a part of it." Would he have given away too much if she chose to oppose? Perhaps but it was too late to take the words back.

The view before him new, and perhaps a little on the boring side. He needed a hobby, one that could hold his interest. This was a lot to ask for, much to expect. Over head a ship flew readying to land in the space port. Possibilities...teasing temptations, the place was filled with secrets. He prefered mysteries.

She truly had nothing to say about her father's late wife. She had no connection to the women, though she could sympathize with the need to flee... To protect her unborn children.

"You are another matter Lorna. One that I hope shares my vision, you are right the war here is long since won." He held out a hand to her, one she took willingly, while he continued to speak. "There can be an us, if you would only choose it. You are welcome...your presence is desired in fact. I have seen what amounts to great talent in this place, to unify it under one cause would be a miracle. One that I don't believe can be accomplished." He turned blue eyes on her they were shining with possibilities.

"I have heard tell of a force called Nexus, this is something we should look at deeper Polaris. I think that there are things in our future...assuming you want to be a part of it."

The look was shared. The scientist in her thrilled with the idea of exploring this place. So rich and brimming with raw potential on so many levels.

"I did say, father, I will not turn my back on you. For too long I have been without my family. For too long I tried to be something I am not. A new beginning is it not?" The space ship was a familiar sight for the Star Jamming mutant. It did not phase her, but then her father never spent time away from Earth aside from his asteroid.

"Let us see what the folk say when we start gathering others to our side." The die was cast and her choice made.
