The door was pushed open and in Captain Moceanu strode. Even though she was dressed in street wear, she held herself like military. The blaster on her hip and the tags around her neck confirmed that. She made her way to the bar; those eyes taking in her surroundings. She was alert and on guard even on leisure. She took a seat at the end of the bar.

She glanced down the length of the bar to see if there was anyone tending. Wasn't sure with so many people behind the bar, even though there was the typical *Self Serve* sign. She quirked her lips and looked. She really didn't want to get up again. Still she wanted a beer more, so she was back on her feet and moved for the break. She surveyed the set up a moment. "(vq) Honor bar eh?"

?Yes, ma'am. Put your money in the till, there and mind Mervyn the till snake.? Another woman, Gemethyst, nodded.

She nodded to Gem, "Thanks." She had converted some creds at the starport and dropped a few coins in the till before looking into the cold storage. "Positive archaic." She snagged a couple of bottles of what looked to be beer. She read the labels carefully, "(vq) Badsider... Bad Orc Brewery..." She shook her head. She would love to see the look on Raleigh's face when he met his callsign in person.

She moved around to the less crowded hearth area. She was tired and she wanted to lounge a bit. She placed one of the beers on the table next to her and popped open the other one. She was in a tank top and jeans. She was not expecting anyone. She brought the bottle to her lips and took in the sounds around her. A bit chaotic and yet soothing at the same time. Booted feet were pulled up underneath her legs, though her weapon was in easy reach.

Bryan pushes into the Inn, tall with dark hair cut almost down to his skull, dressed in black cargo pants, combat boots, a t-shirt olive-green in color that clings close enough to show the muscular frame underneath. Strapped around his waist is a simple web belt that holds what looks like a sidearm of some kind or another. Hazel green-gold eyes scan the room as he heads over to the bar, an informal salute tossed to Cori with a half-grin.

She chuckled and tossed off an in formal salute with a second bottle of beer in her hand. She was checking out the Colonel's departing assets. Hey, She could look!

He steps up to the bar and waves to Amber. "A bottle of tequila and a glass." He grins at Amber, nodding as he drops a small pile of gold coins on the bar and takes the bottle and glass. "Thank you, ma'am. Keep the change." Heading over to the hearth, he gives an up nod to the Captain. "What has you sitting over here by your lonesome?"

She gestured widely to the inn, "No one has deigned to notice." She grinned up at him, "You planned on drinking alone yourself?"

He chuckles, setting both bottle and glass down, not sitting yet. "Well, if you'd like I can get another glass."

She grinned, "Yeah, Sounds good." She had the two bottles of beer; one half finished.

He chuckles, heading back to the bar and snagging another glass before returning to the hearth and handing it to her as he takes a seat next to her. "There ya are."

She grinned at him and drawled, "Why Thank you kind sir." She eyed the Tequila, "Fully taking advantage of leave?"

He grins, pulling the cork from the bottle and pouring himself a generous amount. "Yep, you got it. Not often I get the chance."

She laughed and took a deep pull on the beer, "You and me both, Bry. You and me both."

He grins, taking a big swallow of the tequila, the only sign of the burning sensation it makes a soft sigh as he exhales. "Price of command."

She pointed to him with the beer bottle firmly in her grasp. "Got it in one." She sighed and finished the bottle off. "Worse here."

He chuckles at that. "You mean here as in here, or as in for you personally?"

She poured herself some of the Tequila and took a quick drink, wincing only slightly with the burn, "Personally. Hades, I got accused of being married to my duty."

He snorts at that, taking another swallow of the tequila. "You mean by that jackhole Jameson?" He waves a hand at her, shaking his head. "C'mon, you can't still be bothered by that remark. Besides, he wouldn't be able to find his own ass with both hands and a flashlight."

She chuckled, "You never did like him. Then again, I got the promotion, not him." She shrugged and leveled a look at him, "And yeah it still bothers me."

He snorts again. "Of course I didn't like him. Man's doomed to be second fiddle for the rest of his career. He wasn't good enough for the sister of my best friend."

She chuckled, "The way you are talking, it sounds like I got two brothers." She shook her head, "Yeah, Wife to a second stringer and he wondered why I turned him down."

He grins at that, draining his glass as he eyes her over the rim. "I'm sure the opportunity to be XO of an entire fleet and captain of your own ship on the most ambitious mission the GTVA ever devised probably didn't have any effect on your decision, huh?"

"Hell yeah it did. That and the sinking feeling in my stomach when he proposed."

He smiles at that, picking up the bottle and refilling his glass. "I can just imagine. Still, you got a lot closer than I ever did."

She finished off her glass, feeling mellow, "Huh, I did? No one could catch the elusive Colonel Myers?"

He shakes his head, taking another swallow of his own glass, passing the bottle over to her. "Nope. Had a few little flings here and there, but as it turns out, the Corps owns my ass, it seems." He chuckles softly. "If anyone could be accused of being married to their career, it'd probably be me."

She chuckled, "Nah, you just gotta find someone that understands what being career means."

He shrugs at that. "Well, there's that, I guess. Not easy to find someone out there that would understand the idea of someone committed to their duty as much as they are committed to the relationship, let alone accept it." And for some reason, he's suddenly thankful he brought his sidearm along with him.

She half smiled at that, "Only someone as committed, I'd imagine." She poured herself another glass and offered to top his off. "Kinda harder the higher you go." She's also glad her blaster is on her hip.

He grins, accepting the offer. "Yeah, only because everyone's beneath you. Yet another bad thing about being in charge. No dating subordinates."

She had a wiry grin on her lips, "Only up and welp..." She shrugged and filled his glass setting down the bottle. She was feeling comfortable at this point.

He sighs, drinking his tequila in silence for a moment. "Truth be told, I never thought much about it. Just been... too busy, really." He nudges her with a shoulder. "And you shouldn't be thinking about what that douche said anyway. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that he was actually jealous that you got the offer and he didn't."

She shrugged, "Just been thinking and the words come back to haunt me." She downed a good portion of her glass. "Hits me at night when I lay there questioning my decisions."

He frowns at her, setting his glass down for a moment as he looks into her eyes. "You regret not saying yes?"

"Not with him. Just missed opportunities." She took another drink of her tequila.

He sighs, rolling his eyes and shaking his head. "Here you are, captain of the flagship of a fleet, on an adventure the likes of which no one back home could even comprehend, and you're wasting your time thinking about that?"

She chuckled softly, "Hey, I'm a healthy adult female that's been living like a nun." She took another drink of the tequila.

He laughs at that, picking up his own glass and raising it to touch to hers. "You should fix that."

She tipped her glass to touch that, "Hmm, how? Dun wanna do the one night thing."

He shrugs at that, draining his glass, feeling more than a tad mellow at this point. "So don't. Find someone you'd like to stick with a while."

She slanted a glance to him, "Maybe I have but it takes two to tango." She said quietly enough.

He gives her the same look back, a slight grin on his lips. "So you do have someone in mind, then."

She downed the remaining Tequila in her glass, "Have for a long time now..." She sighed, "Even Jackoff Jameson wasn't ... To me he was just a fling."

He chuckles softly, raising an eyebrow. "You stuck around a long time in that fling, Cori."

She shrugged, "How long was it really? I got assigned to a tour on the Hecates." She half-smiled. "You remember Senior Prom?"

He chuckles softly, nodding. "Vaguely." He nudges her with his shoulder again. "I seem to remember you utterly refusing to wear anything even resembling a dress."

She laughed, "Mother won that one though." She grinned. "Aside from dress uniforms." She did another refill of the glass. "Gods, who'd I end up going with or I end up playing the wallflower?"

He arches an eyebrow at that, grinning at her as he drains his glass. "As I recall, we went together... and played the wallflowers."

She looked at him seriously, "We did get one dance in, though."

He grins, nodding. "That we did. After you threatened me with bodily harm, that is. I never was much for dancing." He gives her a slightly more serious look at that. "You know, come to think of it, I haven't danced with anyone since then, not even at the Marine Corps balls."

She chuckled softly, "It worked." She regarded him over the rim of her glass, "Yeah, I know what you mean. Even Fleet functions, you couldn't get me in a real dress." She took a deep drink of the tequila, "Funny, we both enlisted and drove headlong into our careers. Get on the same ship and we're at arms length."

He gives her a speculative look from where he sits next to her. "Nah, a bit closer than that."

She chuckled at that. "Ya know what I meant, Bry." She placed the glass down feeling the tequila and the beer. "(vq) The best part of senior year was that one dance." She was resisting the urge to look at the man dropping. She has seen enough death and fighting.

"Really?" He can't help but look - just to be sure that everything is under control - before turning back to her. "I always thought it was you saying yes when I asked you to go to the prom with me."

She smiled at that, "Close second. I'd... had been praying you'd ask." She sighed again, "Hades... I've... (vq) Never gotten over you either."

He raises an eyebrow with a grin, turning towards her. "You know, it's funny that the Admiral is always saying you're one of the most outspoken officers he's ever known."

She shrugged, "'Cause I don't keep quiet like the rest of those career arse-kissers. Only about personal stuff."

He sighs, shaking his head slightly and rolling his eyes. "You could have said something, at least to me."

She had the grace to blush, "What should I have said when we got assigned to the same boat, 'Oh hey, I've still got this crush on you?'" She sighed then. "No... No excuses. I was too chicken #$%^&* to say anything."

He grins. "Well, I'm sure there are better ways of saying it... such as this." And with that he leans over and kisses her softly.

Okay, now that caught her off guard and in a heartbeat she's melting into that kiss. The heart was racing as she latched onto his shirt.

He slips an arm around her waist, pulling her closer into that kiss, his lips lingering against hers for a long moment before he finally breaks it, though he doesn't move away. "They say actions speak louder than words..."

She moved closer to him and those arms moved to rest across his shoulders, "You were always big on actions." There was a smile on her lips, "Like I said, you just need someone who understands what career means." She winced at the yelling.

A flicker of annoyance passes over his face at the yelling, though he doesn't look away. "Well, if anyone does, it would be you."

She smiled up at him, "The mission was sold as a Once in a lifetime thing." She dropped her voice lower for his ears only, "(vq) Good thing we work so well together."

He grins at that, nodding, his lips brushing hers with the movement. (vq) "Yeah, but that's the way we've always been."

She brushed her lips against his, "And here I thought I was the annoying tag-along."

He grins at that again. "To your brother, maybe." He chuckles softly. "Let's hope he doesn't want to kill me after this..."

She laughed softly, "I'll take care of Jace. Probably be glad we finally got our acts together."

He smiles, shaking his head, his lips again brushing hers softly. "You never know. Brothers can be funny that way."

She kissed him again. "(vq) Why don't we head on back... I can sneak you into my quarters"

He grins at her at that, raising an eyebrow. (vq) "Why shouldn't I sneak you into mine?" Still, he stands, pulling her up with him.

She got to her feet a little unsteady from all that tequila and beer. "Hmmm, Either or... Though mine is bigger."

He grins, keeping an arm around her waist to steady her as they head for the door. "Quit bragging."
