Eddie sat under a certain tree in the park close to the Marketplace. After running a hand through her strawberry bangs, she opened a small book, turned past pages of handwritten wards, past jotted scribbles of half-remembered dreams, balancing a fine fountain pen between her fingers. A smile on her lips, she began to write, the afternoon sun dappling her hair.

Where do I begin? It feels like a lifetime since I've been here, yet timewise, it's only been a couple months since I - we - left. Those dreams got worse - so bad, I didn't sleep. And not sleeping - I learned the hardest way possible why we need sleep. The other Sisters talked about sending me back to the Isle, but - when I talked to Jaden, he had the perfect solution - he took me home, to where he's from. The time away from here - I feel like a whole new person. Jaden's family welcomed me with open arms, making me feel like one of them from the minute he opened the door.

Eddie paused in her writing, a blush high in her cheeks as she fiddled with a brushed gold ring set with garnets she wore, and with a happy sigh, she went back to writing.

I don't have enough words to write what Jaden means to me. Without him, I think I'd be locked up somewhere. The way we looks at me, touches my hair, it's like I'm the most beautiful girl in the world - his Daisy. About a month into our vacation, we were walking along the river, when he took my hand in his, held it over his heart, and asked if I'd be his, forever - if I'd be his wife. He dropped to one knee and everything - his eyes, I could see his heart clear as anything - and I could hardly talk past the lump in my throat. I did manage to say yes (no hesitation there), and I could hardly see the ring he slipped on my finger through the tears, I was so happy. He chose garnets, and brushed gold - so I can wear it even while patrolling, he said. Then, he took me in his arms... We just got back - I know Jaden's missed everyone, and I have too.

Eddie smiled softly, and doodled little hearts in her journal. Jaden had a ton of paperwork, but he said he'd try to break away, so she sat under the tree where he'd first asked her to be his. And, if it turned out he couldn't get away, she'd meet him later for a bite to eat. As she doodled, that smile lit up her whole face.
