The trip back from Miami had been long and, thankfully, uneventful. His charges were in the back of the black Hummer, sleeping. The younger ones needed to get back to school and the older ones were needing to prepare for the annual changing of the guard. So home they went.

Reaching the compound, he pulls to the main house and hops out of the vehicle. Opening the back of the SUV, he gently shakes Chris' and Doug's shoulders. "We're home, guys. Grab your gear and head on to bed."

Walking up to the house, he spies the note and chuckles. He'd be on the lookout for this Eddie guy.

He'd noticed the figure slinking around the perimeter every night at about the same time. Surveillance cameras were great tools of the trade buddy. So far he couldn't see that there were any disturbances, but he kept on an eye on it none the less.

Perhaps he should catch this trespassing wanna-be peeping Tom? You bet. So, that night he dresses in an all black body suit and steps out into the bushes of the perimeter.

He steps out of the bushes and holds his hands up. "Dude, chill with the Ginsu blades. You're on my property, do you wish to explain yourself? Or taking yourself off of it?"

He coolly and calmly folds his arms over his chest.

He hid his surprise well when that hood fell back, revealing a woman's face. His crystal blues take in everything as she sheathes her blades.

"Yea, I'm a bro. But nobody's said a word about allowing anybody into the compound. You're going to have to leave. And don't worry about security honey, we've got that taken care of."

He smirks and takes a step back, waiting for her to walk so he can escort her from the premises.

He shakes his head and lets his arms drop to his sides. "Listen, 'Eddie', Russ isn't here. The bros are on a vacation, as you can obviously see. Come back in a few days."

He stands there, waiting. But he's not a patient person. "Ma'am, please, step this way."

"I don't have to do anything but escort you from here. Now there's the easy way and then there's the hard way. It's your choice, really."

Just then the radio he's carrying goes off in his ear and he pushes a button on his belt to talk. "Yea, it's a lady and she claims to know Russ. Name of Eddie?" A long pause. "Alrighty."

As gently as he possibly could, he places his meaty paw on her arm. "Come with me to the gate. The President wants to deal with this himself."

He moves behind her and before she knows it, both hands are on her arms and he lifts her up and seats her on one of his shoulders. "Faster this way."

His long legs carry them to the front gate and the sets her down gently. Turning to the gate, he enters the little security room and picks up the phone to the main house. "Yea, we're at the gate."

Just back from Miami, not just that but also recently assigned to his new position and here he is dealing with a security issue already. Rhydin never ceases to amaze him.
The walk from the house down to the gate is not a short one but Jaden walks it nonetheless. Long strides take him down the path, passing most of the guest house and all seems rather quiet, unusually quit, nothing like he is use to of course.
He stifles a yawn as he continues on. A woman to see Russ, a woman named Eddie. Interesting.

As the gate comes into view he slows a bit, his shoes in the gravel surely alerting Matt and even this woman that he is there.
"What seems to be the problem here, Matt?" He says as he stands behind the gate, punching the numbers into the keypad, the gate opens slowly, he steps aside to let it slide past him. His brown eyes land on the young lady which of course he has never seen before, and then to Matt.

Eddie looked up when she heard the crunch of gravel, assessing the President - this had to be him - as he unlocked the gate and stepped through. Something about him - she couldn't quite place what - make her all nervous. She ran a hand through her strawberry bangs, settling them away from her eyes, looking from Matt - and she'd remember that name - to the President. She took a breath to settle her nerves.

"Hey - I'm sorry about all this - Russ never mentioned security or anything. We met up at the Inn a couple months back, and every now and again we have a drink and chat and the last time we met up he said I could stop by whenever. Guess maybe I should've come by earlier, but I haven't been able to. I patrol West End most every night and when I saw you all were gone, I thought I'd keep an eye on the place. I didn't mean to cause so much trouble. I was just - I haven't seen him in some time, so I swang by to make sure he was OK."

She stopped then, looking from one man to the other. She made no move for weapons, not feeling threatened in the least. They were protecting their own, just as her Sisters did.

She didn't pry - she knew better, but the disappointment was hard to hide as she heard the President speak. She again ran her hand through her bangs as she looked over to him, with glances over to Matt.

"Well - it was around the Holidays, so maybe he did forget. I'm just glad he's OK. I'd love to swing by again in a few days - there a better way than skirting the perimeter?"

She gave him a smile. "Anyway - sorry about all the fuss... what's your name? I mean you know mine and all."

"Yes sir." He nods towards Jaden and makes his way back into the guard shack to do as ordered. Stepping out, he glances over to Eddie then back to Jaden. "I'll be sure to give Russ your note. Is there somewhere you can be reached when he returns?"

A smile right back at her as she shook his hand and held it, honestly he did not give it much thought that she held onto it.
"Ah, Dirk." He laughs lightly.

And as his hand is released he takes a few steps back inside the gate.
"Yes well it was a pleasure meeting you also Eddie, I will be sure to let Russ know that you stopped by and I am sure he will be in contact with you. I hope you have a pleasant rest of the evening."

Brown eyes back on Matt. "Matt when you are done here we have issues inside, seems some of the younger brothers think they can sneak out still." He grins and nods then turns and walks back up the path.

Eddie smiled and waved to both Jaden and Matt, then turned and headed back up the path, a little surprised it took her so much longer to get back to where she first ran into Matt than it did to get to the gate - boy Matt had some long legs.

When she reached the main street, she pulled her hoodie back over her strawberry hair and disappeared into the night - smiling as she headed back towards the West End. She hoped Russ returned soon so she could see the rest of the house. Plus she wanted to kid him some too.. the brothers really protected one another - a good sign in these trying times.
