Eddie sat on the edge of the fountain in the middle of the Marketplace. Next to her was a little basket, with an assortment of sandwiches wrapped up inside. She wasn't much of a cook, but she was able to make a decent sandwich. She ran a hand through her strawberry bangs, her sandaled feet swaying. There were two things different about her today - one, she actually was wearing something other than black, going for a light green tee, and black belted shorts. And two, she had left her blades and chakra back at the Sanctuary. Not to say she was totally unarmed, but all the obvious weapons she usually had on her were in her room.

She fidgeted as she sat - the butterflies coming back in force. This was the second "date" she'd had with Jaden - not counting all the mornings they'd met for coffee and tea. The dinner and movie and the walk after went down as the best night she'd ever had. They'd talked for hours, about everything from the new brothers to her bad dreams and everything in between. Aside from her Sisters, he was the only one she'd ever told about the nightmares. His reaction had been to cuddle her close, even giving her a sweet little kiss as they said goodnight.

She knew she was a little early, but she'd been looking forward to this picnic all week - so she waited for Jaden, curled up on the side of the fountain.

Jaden had a few bouts of paper work to get done, brown eyes glancing to the clock here and there to make sure he is not late. But it seems when one paper is done, more pile up and he is busy yet again. Being the Fraternity President is not all sitting in your office and being the "Adviser" like Jaden had thought at one time.

A small laugh at that thought, he could always see Russell sitting in the room behind the large desk and sipping on hot chocolate like he had all the time in the world. At one time Jaden even thought that maybe Russell had parties late at night that nobody knew about. A small shake of his head and a smile on his lips at that. Finally once the papers are filed and up to date he stands from his large leather chair and slides a hand through his hair.

One more look down at the desk and he nods. Time to meet Eddie as then brown eyes drift down to his wristwatch. And everyone will be surprised to see that Jaden is for once is just in a pair of black slacks and buttoned down baby blue shirt, and that the sleeves are rolled up to his elbows, no suit today.

On down to the intercom and he calls for a car, of course it takes mere minutes and Jaden is sliding into the car. Through the gates, a wave to Nate at the guard station and before he knows it he is stepping out of the car at the Market Place.

He lets out a breath, it has been a couple of nights since he has seen Eddie and he will not hide the fact, she has been on his mind for the majority of those days as well. As he walks through the Market he stops and pays for a small bouquet of daises. He continues to walk towards the fountain, the place they agreed to meet, daises in hand and he smiles as he sees her.

Walking up behind her he holds the daises around her shoulder, his other hand resting on the side of her.
"Hello Eddie." His voice soft and a hint of a smile is held in it.

She had drifted off into a daydream, leaning sideways against the fountain, one leg tucked under her. Then, pretty white daisies appeared over her shoulder, and that soft voice and touch to her other side had her turning around, her smile bright as she saw Jaden. The daisies were taken, and she gave him a hug, still holding on to them, even a kiss to his cheek.

"Hey Jaden - how'd you know I love daisies? Thank you."

Then, the little bouquet was set atop the basket, which she picked up with one hand, still smiling as she looked up at Jaden.

"We picked a perfect day to do this - and I hope you're hungry, I sort of went overboard with the sandwiches."

She then slid off the side of the fountain, to stand next to Jaden.

As she turns around and he moves over to the side of the fountain so that they can hug properly, no fountain in the way. He smiles at the kiss to his cheek and he returns it with a kiss to her forehead as she leans back.

"I am happy you like them, and you are very welcome." His smile still in place and reaches out to tuck a strand of stray hair, from her face, behind her ear. "You look lovely today, Eddie." As he watches her pick up the basket he moves over. "May I?" As he takes the basket from her and holds it with his left hand.

He reaches for her hand, with his free hand, and then intertwines his fingers with hers. "It is a very good day for the picnic I agree, not a cloud in sight." He nods and begins to walk with her towards the small park not too far from the Market, away from the people and bustle of the day.

"You know, you really do look lovely today." As brown eyes glance down at her as they walk. "As beautiful as a daisy.. if not more so. Perhaps I will have to call you Daisy, sweet and beautiful Daisy. " He smiles and brings her hand up to kiss it gently.

The gentle brush of his fingers as he tucked that wisp of hair behind her ear had Eddie blushing, as did the compliment - whenever they spent time together, he always made her feel like a princess. Of course she let him take the basket, and then they were walking hand-in-hand to the little park. They'd discovered it during an early coffee meeting, and it was the perfect place to sit and talk away from the traffic in the Market.

As they walked, the butterflies returned in force - the blue shirt brought little highlights out in his hair, and made his eyes seem an even richer brown as he smiled. The more time they spent together, the more time she wanted to spend with him. There was nothing Eddie felt she couldn't tell him - from her childhood, such as it was, to her Temple and patrolling duties - and what it meant to be a Daughter of Scathach. Where someone else might have run screaming, Jaden asked questions, encouraged her to share more about herself.

Her blush came back in full crimson glory when he called her Daisy, and kissed her hand just above the scales tattoo. She was Diana to her Sisters, Eddie to most everyone else..

"I like that, Jaden." The little squeeze of his hand and her soft smile as she looked up at him showed just how much she liked the nickname.

After walking a little while, they came to a shady spot, and Jaden helped Eddie spread out a blanket, and after she kicked off her sandals, they sat together, enjoying the breeze. She took a daisy from the bouquet, and wove it into her ponytail, very, very content in his company. He'd set the basket near them, and she looked over to Jaden as she opened it.

"I made turkey and ham, and roast beef sandwiches - which one did you want to start with?"

"Daisy it is." He nods and continues to walk with her to the shady spot, brown eyes left her for a few moments and gazed around the park. What a lovely day it really is and he can hear the children running around, the parents chasing after them and that causes Jaden to laughs very softly.

Then they get to the spot and he helps her to spread the blanket out and his own shoes stay on as he sits on the edge of the blanket and keeps his shoes off of it. A smile to her as she puts one of the daises and puts it in her ponytail, how beautiful she looks to him and the smile on his face can probably give him away to that fact.

"I am partial to roast beef." He nods and sits back against the tree they happen to be right under. "It feels wonderful to be out of the house and getting fresh air. All the little dramas of the house can sometimes be overwhelming and it helps to relax, sit back and enjoy the day." Brown eyes look back at her and smiles again.

"Nothing like sunshine, fresh air and excellent company."

When Eddie made the sandwiches, she cut the roast beefs into rectangles, and the turkey and ham into triangles - saved unwrapping each one to find the right one. She reached for the nearby basket, and rummaged lightly for a rectangle sandwich, and a triangle one, giving the roast beef to Jaden, that little blush back in her cheeks.

"Here you go."

She unwrapped her turkey and ham, done up with just the right amount of mustard, lettuce, and tomato, where the roast beef had a light horseradish dressing instead of mustard. She settled back against the tree, taking a bite of sandwich, tucking her feet underneath her. The breeze caught her bangs, tossing them lightly.

She turned light brown eyes to Jaden as he talked, that blush back at being thought of as excellent company. The way she looked up at him, all rosy-cheeked, showed how nice he looked to her too.

"We couldn't have asked for a nicer day to enjoy together, Jaden." Another bite, then she rest her head on his shoulder as they sat together against the tree. "It couldn't be more perfect - thank you."

Brown eyes watch her as she rummages through the basket, a smile when she turns back around to him and hands him the sandwich. He takes it and unwraps it. "Thank you." He says softly and takes a bite from the sandwich.

"It is delicious." He says after he has swallowed the bite down. A reach over in the basket for the napkins and he dabs at the corners of his mouth with it then hands her a napkin of her own. "You could rival Cook at sandwiches." He chuckles and takes another few good bites.

"Yes, it truly is a wonderful day to be out and together, I agree." He whispers and finishes his own sandwich and wipes his mouth with the napkin, then sets it down on the blanket next to him. He clears his throat and brings his arm around her and slowly places his fingers on the ring that has been on his right hand, his presidential ring.. and slides it off.

"Daisy." He says softly. "I was hoping that you would.." A pause, how nervous he is, but it felt absolutely right. "Wear my ring." He holds the ring closer to her, his other arm around her and holding her close.

"We have been sharing so many moments together and I would like for there to be many more. And for us to be exclusive." He looks down into her eyes. The ring still in between his fingers but with the back of his hand he caresses her cheek. "Will you be mine, and I yours?"

Eddie took the napkin with a soft smile, and caught a little drip of mustard that escaped her sandwich after she took another bite. She grinned when Jaden compared her to Cook. "Oh I've got a long, long way to go before I'm as good as he is, but I'm glad you like them."

She got one more bite, then she set her half a sandwich down as Jaden drew her closer, light brown eyes widening a little as he took off his President's Ring - she knew how much it meant to him. Cheeks all rosy at his words, she closed her eyes at the soft touch to her cheek, and she took his ring with slightly trembling fingers - butterflies swirled in her stomach, but it was so right.. Her voice was a whisper as he kept her close, looking up into his eyes.

"I can't see being with anyone but you, Jaden. I'd love to wear your ring, and be exclusive to each other."

She slipped his ring on her left index finger - it was way too big for her, and after thinking a moment, she reached behind her back, and unhooked the little knife she always kept on her, sheath and all. With very rosy cheeks, she offered the blade to Jaden, hilt first.

"I don't have a ring to give you, but I never go anywhere without this blade - I won it on the Isle, when I beat everyone else in the Chakra, the youngest ever to win this." She unsheathed the knife enough to show that her Scathachian name - Diana, was etched into the blade, just above the finely wrought hilt. His ring clicked against the knife as she held it out for him, echoing his words to her. "Will you be mine, and I yours?"

A small smile as she takes the ring and places it onto her index finger. Even a small sigh of relief exhales from his lips. The look on his face is nothing short of pure happiness that she accepted.

Then dark brown eyes watch as she unhooked the knife, he looks down at it and the smile grew. He knew this has to be very important to her by the way she even handled it. Jaden listens to her speak and nods when she is finally done and looks at the knife as she unsheathed it.

He nods and takes the knife in his hand that was not around her and he whispers. "Yes of course. I am yours." He places the knife close to him on the blanket so that now his second hand can move over and touch her other cheek. His fingers caress both of her velvety cheeks and he hopes she can see just how happy she has made him.

"Thank you so very much." He says softly and then he leans in, his lips pressing to hers in a very small but so very sweet kiss. As he leans back he chuckles. "You have made me very happy." He leans in again however this time the kiss is placed to her forehead and he holds her close.

"So very happy." He whispers.

Eddie felt her breath catch in her throat when Jaden took her blade, and a smile bloomed across her face to match his as he softly caressed her cheeks, the look in his eyes bringing a mist of pure joy to her own.

That sweet little kiss made her all rosy again, snuggling into the curve of his body as he brushed a kiss to her forehead, her right arm going about his waist.

"You've made me just as happy - if not more so. I never imagined anything like this."

She looked at his ring, so huge on her left hand, her smile bright in the afternoon sunshine. A giggle escaped as she thought of something..

"The only thing I'm scared of - is losing it. Yours hands are way bigger than mine..."
