Rhy had been having contractions since the early morning hours, but nothing had happened, that was until about ten thirty. When she was going to the kitchen to get a drink, her water broke. The first few hours after that was a bit of a blur. There were brothers running all around the house and Dean, being his calm collected self getting things set up, just as they were supposed to be. He had made the appropriate phone calls and now the midwives had arrived and the birthing bath was set up and being filled with warm water and adjusted to the correct temperatures. Rhy had refused to have the baby in a hospital, she hated them, when the opportunity to have the baby at home was presented, she readily agreed. Of course there were those that were more hesitant for her to be bringing a child into the world this way, but no one tried to persuade her otherwise. Cole and Dean were going to be with Rhy during child birth, the others were going to stay in another area of the house with Daniel until Rhyannon would be decent again and the whole birthing process was over.

It would be hours before Rhy would be ready to actually give birth. Over eight hours to be exact. Occasionally some of the brothers came down to check on her and see if there was anything they could do, but Cole did a good job of keeping the room clear and calm. The lights were dimmed, as Rhy didn't want her baby to be shocked and blinded with lights and there was calm classical music playing in the background, the same that she had listened to while carrying the baby. As the hours progressed, the strength of her contractions increased and Dean had to begin aiding her with some of his healing ability, taking the pain away from her. Rhy could tell by the way Dean's jaw was set tight, he wasn't happy with her being in pain, it really bothered him, but the outcome would be so worth it. They both of course knew that. Dean was attentive and calming the whole time, holding her hand and trying to make sure she was comfortable on the hospital like bed that had been brought in, yes, just for this.

When the midwives told her it was time, Rhy lost it and started crying. The excitement to know that she was about the meet the little baby that she'd been caring for, for nine months, was overwhelming, along with all of the sudden fears that entered her mind. What if something went wrong? What if she had made a bad choice in having the baby at home? What if the baby hated her? Dean and Cole both worked to calm her down, as the babies heart started to beat a little faster when she was upset, they had to remind her to stay calm and not stress the baby out.

Rhy kept her modesty about her, electing to wear a short cotton night gown while being in the birthing bath and Dean would stay out of the water of course, but be right by her side during the whole thing. Cole was there, because of course he was one of Rhy's closest friends, but he was going to help with pictures and making sure to call everyone with updates.

Rhy got into the water at about seven, it was explained that the warmth of the water would help in getting her dilated to the last centimeter and when she reached a comfortable ten, she'd start to push. Closing her eyes trying to relax, the midwives went over a few more instructions about the process. Rhy was going to help deliver her own baby and Dean was going to cut the cord. The contractions and pain started to increase around eight and the midwives informed her that it was time to start pushing. Both Dean and the midwives helped Rhy to find a comfortable position and the pushing began. Rhy insisted that Dean and Cole both stay at her head, she didn't want either of them scarred for life and she was a little shy. Dean kept her calm when the pain began to increase, making sure she was comfortable and did as much as he could to ease the pains she was feeling.

Pushing was rather difficult and seemed to take forever, but at eight twenty three p.m. Haley Jadden Santiago was born. Rhy lifted her head out of the water for her to take her first breath as the midwives instructed her and she was prepared to have her umbilical cord cut. Dean cut the cord and Haley was lifted into a warm towel, being cradled into his arms as he and Rhy looked over her, Rhy crying again, Cole jumping up and down with excitement and Dean just grinning like a fool. Everyone agreed she was perfect. She was beautiful and healthy. Dean took Haley away briefly while the midwives check Rhy for blood loss and to finish the second delivery and get her cleaned up and comfortable. Dean didn't go far, but just with the other midwife to have Haley looked over and get her measurements and make sure her airway was clear. After Rhy was given the okay, she was out of the water and cleaned and dried, and in a clean nightgown, waiting on the couch to hold her little girl and give her, her first feeding. Dean and Rhy sat there marveling over Haley, while Cole snapped pictures. The rest of the brothers were invited down, along with Daniel and each took turns posing proudly with the new little princess and of course Daniel smiled the biggest when he got to hold his baby sister.

Everyone talked about how beautiful she was and how much she looked like Rhy or Dean and asked what name they had picked. Haley was a name they had chosen together and Jadden was after Rhy's best friend, Jade. And both names fit her perfectly with her perfect complexion, dark hair and hazel eyes, that had a little more blue and than green, although with babies that was subject to change. After an hour of celebrating, it was time for Rhy to get some rest, as Haley had fallen back asleep. Dean held her and rocked her while Rhy slept and Daniel fell asleep next to her.
