And, just like that, she flew into Rhy'din from the Underworld.
Actually, that's exactly how it happened. One day, being down with misfortune and feeling under the weather because of it had spread like wildfire. Reiko was drumming her fingers on the scarred wood of the bar top in front of her, Andu had dozed off at his usual spot again, and Icer was politely nudging about for attention from whoever happened to stop what they were doing and give her the scritches she so desired. Other than that, yes, there was nothing particularly special going on at the moment. Murelle hadn't even arrived to start her weekly shift yet, and Xeno has been accompanying her lately. What a gentleman to do such a kind deed. His selflessness is exactly the reason for the bubblegum pink-haired woman verbalizing her adoption of the man as her "father."
It was one of those days where Reiko feared that not even Xeno or Murelle would be able to cheer her up. Why? She was missing her late parents especially so today, what with the twenty-first anniversary of their deaths fast approaching. Rounding the corner to that place would be built-up emotions would surely boil over, and the woman would surely need all of the emotional support that she could get that day. In wanting to try lifting her spirits on her own, Reiko looked around for something which could easily distract her mind. Shiny objects didn't do her the same justice that it did Icer. Her dragoness sister could probably play with "shinies" all day and never grow tired of it if she had her way. Oh, and consume lots of ginger-made snacks.
Finally, the woman could contain herself no longer. She hated to admit to this, but the Inn was quite boring. Rising from the stool that had the starting signs of her arse imprinted on it from frequent sittings, Reiko walked over to the side door and stepped outside to the porch. Either the swing could accommodate her (along with some lazy exercise), or she could seek salvation from her boredom with a standing lean against the porch railing in front of her.
The swing it was.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to her, another would soon be joining her. They took to travelling by foot without a choice. They also took to being quite lost beyond belief. Joy. The stray thought was unintentionally picked up on by the porch's only occupant, who came to a near-stop and straightened. Either this coming stranger was close, or Reiko's telepathy was getting stronger. She would find out soon enough.
Imagine Reiko's surprise when the would-be stranger turned out to be her long-lost best friend, Takura Kashimoto(?)! That sent her standing up from the swing rather quickly. In that next moment, the Albino was tackling her friend down with a hug. Oops. Drinks galore? Why not?
Rhy'din, please give an epic welcome to Takura...and let the games begin.
