Chapter 1 - Thoughts Before Their Journey

The day has come for our departure to England, and I arose from sleep early and looked down upon Inara who was still sleeping beneath the silk sheets of our bed.

How impossible it is for me to conquer what I feel for Inara. When I see her, an emotion transports me to that which can be felt but not described, taking from me all power to resist. I have no eyes for her flaws or past occupation; I can see only that she is lovable. Is that not the last degree of madness? If so, I am totally mad for her. Some might tell me, no doubt, that a man must be a poet to feel this; but for my part I feel that there is but one kind of love, and that those who have not felt these delicacies of sentiment have never truly loved.

So there she lies asleep between the strokes of night, pale as the duskiest lily's leaf or head, smooth-skinned and dark, with bare throat made to bite. And her lips opened amorously, and said I know not what, saving one word ? Delight. And all her face was honey to my mouth, and all her body pasture to mine eyes; the long lithe arms and hotter hands than fire, the quivering flanks, hair smelling of the orient, the bright light feet, the splendid supple thighs, and glittering eyelids of my soul's desire.

I bent over my lady, my heart filled with love, watching her breathe and knowing that she does so for two as our perfect child grows within her perfect body.

I kissed her upon her lips and said, ?Beloved, today our journey begins.?

Chapter 2 - Journey to Wakefield Manor

Inara slowly woke to the touch of his lips and smiles sleepily up at him, "Mmm, a journey I have looked forward to for days," she purred and looked up at him with a gentle smile.

He had already bathed and dressed while she was sleeping, but it still took all his willpower to not want to get back into bed with his beautiful lady and make love until they missed their ship. "Come, my love!" He pulled back the covers. "While you're getting ready I'll grab Garry and get the wagon loaded. Ali is preparing breakfast."

Inara nodded, "Okay," she answered softly slowly sitting up and stretching before reaching for the clothes she had laid out the night before, wanting to be on their way as soon as they could be.

He just had to kiss her while she was stretching because there's nothing more sexy then a stretching lady! "I'll be downstairs." He left and knocked on Garry's door and waited for a response.
Garry opened the door, "Hey...it's the big day! Let's go get you loaded up into the wagon." Garry and Gavilean went into the barn and teamed up the horses to the wagon that Gavilean had borrowed from the livery stable in Rhydin.

Inara slipped from the bed, tugged on her clothes, straightened the velvet dress, warm for the trip at sea and slipped on her shoes before turning to arrange her hair up over her shoulders and slipping out of the room headed for the dinning room to get something to eat.

Alat?riel saw Inara come into the dining room, and went up to her and gave her a hug. "I'm going to miss you so much, Inara." She smiled, "But you'll be coming back married!"

Inara grinned at her and brushed hair from the other woman's face, "I'll miss you too, but you'll have plenty to keep you busy, what with Garry and all," she answers and moves to sit at the head of the table.

"We'll watch over your home for you while you're away, and don't worry about Jewell. I'll exercise her every day." She went into the kitchen and soon returned with coffee and the breakfast.

"Just watch out for an strange men approaching the house," She answers softly, a touch bit nervously.

By the time breakfast was served, Gavilean and Garry had the horses teamed to the wagon and the luggage brought down from the bedroom and loaded into the wagon. Ali poured the coffee, "What strange men?"

"Any strange men," Inara answered and sighed softly, "There?s a hunting rifle in the front den if you need it too."

Alat?riel smiled, knowing she could handle just about any man if necessary. "I'll shoot his balls off!" she said with a grin and went back into the kitchen.

Gavilean nearly choked on his coffee. "Garry, you've got your hands full with that one!"

Inara grinned and chuckled at Gav, "As long as he stays close to the house he doesn't have to worry about her mistaking him for a stranger," she laughs.

He laughed, "That's one girl I wouldn't want to mess with." Soon breakfast was over and it was time to depart. Gavilean went to get Inara's coat and held it for her.

Garry stood there with Alat?riel watching the couple get ready to depart. "Wish we could go with you, but I've got a venture down in the harbor and I need to strike while the iron's hot.

Inara slipped into her cloak and tugging it around her carefully and moves to hug Ali and Garry goodbye "We'll be back before you know it," She turned to Gav, "Ready?"

He had put on his own coat and was set. "I'm more than ready, darling. This is truly going to be the best Christmas of my life." He shook Garry's hand and gave Ali a kiss. "We'll be back after the first of the year."

Inara smiled and slipped her arm around Gav's, waving goodbye as they headed out for the wagon, stepping carefully through the snow despite the nice new boots hugging her feet warmly. Gav helped her onto the wagon's seat and put a blanket over her legs, then sat next to her. With a final wave to Garry and Alat?riel, they were off to the harbor of Rhydin city.

Inara stayed warm against her soon to be husband, watching the city slip by, her eyes expectantly turning towards the harbor as soon as they were insight of it, excitement growing, she so loved ships and sailing. He guided the horses to the pier where the "London Lady" was docked. The pier was a bustle of activity with passengers arriving, cargo being loaded and crew members preparing the ship. Gavilean signaled the dock master and paid him to have their luggage brought to their cabin. He then hopped off the wagon and went to the opposite side to help Inara down. He held up his arm, "Come, beautiful woman!?

Inara smiled softly, slipped down into his arms and looked up at the ship and smiled brightly, "She is a beautiful ship," she breathed softly, taking his arm once more.

"Yes, she is. She makes this journey weekly, so it's routine for his crew." Instead of boarding the ship immediately, Gavilean took the time to walk Inara upon the docks, looking at merchants and vendors, allowing time for their luggage to be stowed in their cabin.

"I wonder how calm the seas will be," she mussed out loud as she poked around the shops, admiring this or that as they passed.

"I've traveled it often and found that usually the seas off Rhydin are quite calm, but when we pass through to the English Channel, you never know what awaits there. Fortunately, that's the shortest part of our trip." They wound their way back to the ship and he led her up the gangplank and onto the main deck. "Want to see our cabin?"

She smiles up at Gav, "I would love to see our cabin," she answers softly.

Familiar with the ship, he brought her to the door that descended below the quarterdeck. The entered a narrow hallway and the sounds of the harbor dimmed and the air became warmer. "Usually passengers have cabins toward the bow, but I've reserved us one of the staterooms here in the stern." He gave her a wink and led Inara back through the hallway until he came to their cabin door. He opened it and allowed her to enter. The "stateroom" was indeed larger than all the other passenger rooms, but it was still small, measuring 7'x12'. The room had three porthole windows, so there was plenty of light, and the bed was against the wall to the right, taking up most of that area. It was covered in quilts of many colors. Their luggage had be set in the room. "We should take out what we'll need for the journey and store the rest in the closets."

Inara nodded, "Sounds good," she agreed and moved to kneel at there bags and started routing through it to dig out what she would need on the one day trip, a sweet little nightgown, warm enough for the trip but still frilly and lacy enough to be alluring, and a warm thick winter velvet dress for once they were in England. She moved to set the clothing aside and started to store her bags.

Gavilean was doing the same with his luggage. He had packed lightly since the Manor had closets filled with his clothes. He took out a the usual personnel effects and a change of clothes, plus a warm wool Irish sweater that was off-white in color, then put the remainder of his items away.

She smiled up at him as she turned back to him and offered him a flat wrapped box about the size of a hard covered book but very light, wrapped in silver paper and a burgundy velvet ribbon with gold trim.

He had a surprised look, "What's this, darling?" :He took the box from her hand. "It's so beautifully wrapped!"

"An early wedding gift," she answered with a grin. "Don?t worry about the paper, its made to rip," She grinned and rolled her eyes at him being so careful. Inside the box is a pair of doeskin gloves, the leather a soft black and lined for the winter cold.

"You are too good to me." He proceeded to undo the bow very carefully, then carefully removing the paper, giving her a wink. He opened the box and smiled. He removed the gloves and smiled, "You must have seen the condition of the ones I was wearing." He put them on his hands and feeling the perfect fit. "Thank you, my love. These are perfect." He took her into his arms and held her. "We're all alone," he said softly. "No inn, no Talomar, no Lani, no crazy swords flying about or people with big ears...just us." He brought his lips to hers and pressed them slowly against those lips in a tender kiss.

Her lips slowly parted under his as she wrapped her arms around him, "I love you very much," she muttered as she broke the kiss.

"I love you the samest," he said with a smile and a wink. "Why don't we go up on deck. It's almost time for the "London Lady" to depart and we can wave good-bye to those on the docks."

She grinned and nodded enthusiastically, "I would love to be up there to see us leave dock," she answered kissing him once more.

He looked at her and swallowed the lump in his throat, the one that seemed to well up within him because he loved her so much. He opened the door and they went back through the narrow hall and up to the main deck. "We'll have to climb to the quarterdeck for the best view." They went up to the quarterdeck and made their way to the stern railing. The city harbor laid before them, still teaming with activity and sounds as it approached an hour before midday.

Inara walked with him, staying close to him, but finally beginning to feel the first sense of relaxation in days as they approached the time of their departure. "I can't wait to be under way, just to see your home makes my heart flutter with anticipation."

He stood behind her and slipped his arms around her waist, his mouth was near her ear. "It's so much different than Rhydin, as you know. We are going to have such a wondered time, and the next time we board this ship, we'll be married. I'm so excited I'm almost tempted to ask the Captain to do it!"

:
"A valid idea, but not at all practical," she grinned at him and snuggled in under his embrace. "Besides, then you'd miss the dresses and the flowers and the honeymoon," she teases.

A mock horrified look, "I definitely don't want to miss the honeymoon!" He kissed her cheek and noticed that the dock workers had begun to removed the heavy ropes from the dock cleats and the ship's crew was pulling the rope up to the deck and laying it in curls.

"No I didn't think you would," she chuckled, and leaned over the edge of the rail slightly to watch the activity and the water below lapping at the ship. The ship began to move away from the docks. Many of those on land were waving, and Gav joined those on board the ship in waving back. It was a beautiful day and at least the first part of their journey would be made in reasonably calm waters. Inara added her own wave to Gav's and smiled brightly as she looked up at Gav and moved to kiss him once more, feeling as if a weight had lifted and a freedom came over her. "Thank you Gavilean, you give me such peace," she whispered softly to him, love reflecting in her gaze.

"I'm so in love with you, darling. I just wanted this time together so much." He kissed her right there on the deck and didn't care who was watching. He even ignored the few whistles that came from the crew.

She quickly sunk into the kiss, wrapping her arms around him as she pulled him down towards her, her tongue brushing over his as she held the kiss with a passion that rivaled anything he had felt from her.

His arms tightened around her, nearly lifting her off the deck as he responded to her passion with his own, kissing her deeply, breathing in her fragrance and her breath. Slowly the kiss broke and he just smiled at her and held both hands in his. "Lady Inara Wakefield...hmmm, has a very nice ring to it," he winked.

She grins, "Yes it does," she nods "very definitely, I can not wait to be just that," She answers and hugs him tightly, resting her cheek to his chest, "I think we should head down to break in our room," she teases softly.

Together they walked toward the bow and down to the main deck, then they descended below and back to their room. Gavilean opened a port window to allow air into the room. "Would you like something to eat or drink? There's food in our cabin. Not much, mostly wine, cheeses, bread, that kind of thing. It's not much a meal, but they figure for one day we can rough it," he said with a wink.

She turned back to him from examining the room and smiled softly, "That sounds fine, love," she answers softly and moves to sit on the edge of the bed, her eyes never leaving him now.

He laughed, "You are so easy to please, darling. Another reason why I love you so much. But I have a surprise." He reached into a bag he had in his luggage and pulled out a smalled bag of shortbread cookies and some water with lemon. "Would this be any more appetizing?"

She grinned as he pulls out the cookies, her eyes brightening, "Oh much more so," she answered with a quick nod and moves to crawl back onto the bed slightly to give him room to join her, "You do watch me so, don't you," she asks happily, how she loves the distinctly Christmas cookie.

He sat down and held up a cookie to her lips. "I watch you all the time. Can't take my eyes off of you, in fact."

Inara's lips immediately move to the small treat taking a gentle nibble, her lips brushing his fingers as she looks up at him in unending love, as she chews softly waiting till the cookie is long from her lips before speaking softly, "Such devotion I fear you may stumble over some unseen object if you continue to watch me so," she teases gently, her fingers moving to her lips as she licks the tiny crumbs from them.

He took her hand in his and brought his mouth to her finger, taking it into his mouth. He sucked upon her finger, bringing it deep into his mouth, sliding his tongue around it as he kept looking into her eyes. He slowly pulled his mouth away from her finger. "I just love these cookies," he said softly, then took two fingers into his mouth, sucking on them and running his tonger between them and along their length.

Inara shivered at his touch and moans softly as she sidles closer to him, her body moving just enough to bring her leg against his as her breath picks up a little, "Mmm, I must agree, but love, it isn't the cookie you need worry about she mutters softly, her cheeks warming as her body does to his attentions. His tongue plays with the soft tissue between her fingers, then he takes three fingers into his mouth, sucking on them, letting his soft, wet tongue move over her fingers. Inara made another soft noise as she moved again closer, her dark eyes on his, a passion burning in them. "You are driving me to a precipice my love, if you do not kiss me I fear I will explode." She whispered, licking her lips slightly.

He let her fingers slide from his mouth and immediately he brings his mouth hard upon hers. His mouth opens on hers and his tongue immediately penetrates her mouth, seeking the taste of shortbread, sharing the cookie between them.

Inara gladly sank into the kiss, immediately moving to straddle his hips as best she could in skirts and petticoats, her arms wrapping around him as she inhales his scent and deepens the kiss as best she can. His hands went to work on her dress, loosening ties as he continued to ravish her mouth with his. Giving up on the ties, his hands moved up her legs beneath her skirts, feeling her soft, smooth legs. Higher they went until he found her even softer thighs, moving his hands between her legs as she straddled him. Inara, gasped against his lips are his wonderings and groans softly as his hands find what he seeks, her hips grinding against his touch as she finally breaks the kiss, her lips brushing lightly over his, her breaths still coming in ragged gasps as she nips at his lip, "So much for cookies," she teased a bit breathlessly as she moved her fingers to the dress ties, undoing them herself.

His one hand stays occupied between her legs, feeling her through her undergarments, his other hand helping her with her clothes. He kissed her neck as she worked on her clothes. She was quick to lose the ties, slipping the dress from her shoulders, her undergarments as always are of lace a frill and match her dress exquisitely as she raises her chin to give him better access to her neck and moans softly, her fingers moving from her own gown to his shirt, tugging to free it and immediately searching out the warm soft skin beneath her hands brushing over the muscles across his back, tugging him closer as she shifts against him moving to lose his own shirt ties and pushing at the offending fabric to get it out of her way.

He helped her remove his shirt, and then laid Inara upon the soft bed covered in thick multi-colored quilts. He threw off his boots, removed his pants and brought his naked body on top of hers. "I love you so much," his words barely a whisper in his hunger for her.

Inara's hands immediately spread over his chest as she draws him to her kissing him deeply as she quickly nudges her skirts the rest of the way from her body, leaving her in the scantly covering lace corset and garter as she moves to draw light kisses over his chin and neck, "I love you too," she breaths hotly, lightly brushing her nails over his skin and fallowing them with wet butterfly kisses.

Just the feel of her body and the touch of her fingers and kisses had his already aroused body wanting her. His kisses found resting places on her face and neck as she kissed him. His hands moved to her corset, loosening it. He lifted up his body and watched her has he removed the corset and garter. His eyes examined her body with such desire. He wet his lips, moved lower and began to kiss her sexy smooth legs. She whimpered softly in need as she spreads her legs for him, letting out soft moans of encouragement as she runs her fingers through his hair as he draws too far from her lips for any other kind of contact.

His kisses moved up her soft leg, running down the silken flesh of her thighs. She gasped in pleasure, her eyes moving to his as she brushed her fingers deeper into his hair, her legs spreading wider for him. Inara groaned softly her head dropping back to the blankets her eyes drifting shut in pleasure, "You can be a very cruel man," she groaned in pleasure as her fingers curl into the sheets, her hips rocking slightly against him. She cried out softly at the invasion of his tongue, her hips rocking harder as she longed for more of him, her back arching slightly as she gasped in deep hot breaths, already her body lighting with the pleasure of his touch, her vision an explosion of color as she cries for more of him.

Their lovemaking continued for a very long time, leaving each exhausted and lying in each other?s arms as they slept until the morning.

A hint of early morning light was filtering through the three port windows in their berth. Gavilean opened his eyes and pulled the heavy quilts higher over his shoulders so that only their heads were outside the quilt. They were both naked beneath the covers, and it was obvious that the temperature outside the ship had taken a significant drop. He was sure it was below 0 deg. C, and that would mean they had passed through the Nexus in the early morning hours as planned. His arm went back around Inara as they spooned together beneath the covers. This was his favorite time of day, a time when he could enjoy the smooth, soft flesh of Inara next to his own. The cold made the snuggling all that much more pleasurable.

Inara stirred as he moved against her, her dark eyes slowly opened to the dim room and taking a slow deep breath before she moved under his touch and shivered slightly tugging the blankets closer. "I think you left the window open," she murmured sleepily, pressing back tighter against his warm flesh.

His mouth was against the back of her neck, his face enjoying the feel of her long, dark hair against it. "Yes I did. The air sure felt good last night, but it's a bit nippy now," He held her breast in his hand and moved tight against her. "The temperature tells me we're off the coast of England. We should reach the port around noon if the winds are favorable."

She smiled softly, "Then we should rise my love and get some food, and prepare to go," she muttered, smiling softly as she turned slightly to look up at him, kissing his lips gently.

He returned the soft kisses, his hand caressing the side of her face, playing with her hair. "I don't want to get up." His head was sunk into the pillow with hers. "There's not much to do anyway. Just a bunch of smelly sailors running around." He grinned and looked into the dark depths of her eyes. "I've been trying to think of a proper wedding present for you."

She smiled softly, "I have the only gift I need, but you know, just you with a little red ribbon would be good," She purred.

He smirked, "Oh? And just where do you want that little red ribbon tied?"

She grinned, "Only one place it would fit," she teases softly, her leg moving to slide gently over his.

"I love you so much," his cobalt blue eyes looked from her hair, down to her face, his fingers lightly traced a trail from her cheek to neck, to shoulders as they disappeared beneath the covers. "I think I shall have to get you something that the ribbon will not fit around - something even bigger than me, if you can imagine that," he teased her.

She raised a brow at him, "Bigger then you huh? Gonna buy me a ship are you?" She teases, "Or are you still afraid I will sail away from you?"

"You sail away and I'll follow you to the very ends of the earth." With that said he pushed her on her back and kissed her deeply, lying is body on top of hers, holding her hands in his.

She moaned softly into the kiss, her fingers curling into his as she shifts under him, giving him the room to slide between her legs as she deepens the kiss. Then slowly breaks it, "Ends of the earth huh? Good thing I'm not planning on going anywhere," she breaths softly.

By the time they finished making love in the morning, the port windows were fogged to an extent that would have made all London envious. They rose from their bed, took care of personal needs, and had breakfast in the room. It was cold on the deck, so they remained in their room for the duration of the trip, re-packing their luggage, dressing for the carriage ride to Wakefield, and sitting and talking about their future. The ship's bell rang out about an hour after noon, signaling that the London port was in sight and the ship would soon be docking. Gavilean smiled, "We in the King's waters, my love. Soon we'll be taking a carriage to your new home in England."

Inara smiled softly at Gav's words, rising to cross the room to peer out before turning to look at Gav once more, smiling softly at him, "I can hardly wait my love, I'm sure your home will well put mine to shame."

He took his beautiful woman into his arms, "I have no home except that which is ours, and your home in Rhydin is lovely and elegant and I feel so much at home there already. Let's bundle up and go on deck. I have the most beautiful pair of gloves to keep my hands warm and I'm dying to try them out again."

Inara smiled brightly and moves to kiss him gently, "I think that is a wonderful idea," she answers and moves to retrieve their coats offering Gav's to him before dressing herself in her own and tugging on the warm boots and gloves, offering him her hand.

They went out of their room and ascended the narrow set of stairs that took them up to the main deck. Immediately the cold air was felt, but their clothing and each other's arms kept them warm. The ship was coming up the Themes River, and the harbor docks and the entire London skyline was before them. The great Tower of London, the Westminister Cathedral with the tower of Big Ben, all the other famous buildings of that day were visible in the cold afternoon air. Carriage could be seen lining the streets that were crowded with men, women and children pedestrians. Gavilean smiled as he saw it. This was home to him.

Inara smiled softly, she had only been here once and straight from the harbor to the palace and back again, "I've never seen this except for by the light of moon, it is so beautiful," she stated softly and looked up at Gav and smiled, "I feel very small in such a big city," she adds. "Its a wonder you don't get lost in so many streets," she smiles up at him.

He laughed, "We all feel small in this city, and who said I don't get lost? It's very easy to get lost here, so I keep to those areas that I know best, or else I get a carriage to take me where I need to go." It was not long before the shipped docked and the gangplank was lowered. Gav had already spotted and signaled the man he was looking for. His frequent travels between England and Rhydin and his status as Lord Wakefield had given him some influence over the transportation provided at the dock. He walked Inara down off the ship and to a waiting driver. "Good to see thee again, Lord Wakefield," the driver said in a heavy British accent. "And who is the lovely missus with you?" "Albert, I'd like to introduce to my fianc?e, Inara Serra. Inara, this is Albert. He runs the best carriage service this side of the Themes."

"Please to meet you, my dear. And don't listen to Lord Wakefield. I run the best carriage service on BOTH sides of the Themes!"

Inara smiled softly, "A pleasure," she answered softly with a nod of greeting, offering him her hand for a moment.

Albert took her hand into his and bowed. "Please allow me to help you to the carriage. It's cold as the Pole out 'ere. I've already sent a few lads to retrieve your baggage, so ye needn't be worried about that now."

Inara's smile brightened slightly at his words and nodded, "Thank you," she answered softly, letting him help her into the carriage, stepping carefully, collecting her skirts to make sure she didn't step on them on the way up.

Once Inara was inside the carriage and out of the cold, Gavilean spoke to Albert privately and handed him an envelop. He then came into the carriage from the door on the opposite side. He closed the door behind him and looked at Inara. "I do believe that my hands are the only part of my body that is warm!"

She grinned and moved to snuggle against him, "I think we can take care of that once we get home," she mutters softly, kissing him gently and adjusted the cloak around her, "at least its a little warmer here," she adds.

He put his arm around her and soon the luggage was loaded and the carriage was being pulled down the street by a team of 4 horses. They left the dock area and traveled through a maze of streets past shops and pubs, flats and business establishments. Snow was covering the streets to a depth of a couple of inches and all the shops were already decorated for the holiday season. After about 45 minutes they had exited the northeast side of the city and could begin to make good time toward Wakefield Manor.

She had her nose all but pressed to the carriage windows as she watched the shops, her cloak kept tight around her to ward off the cold and finally turning back to Gav when they passed out of the city and she moved to snuggle into his arms once more. "Such a lovely city my love, very big," she grins.

"It is a lovely city, and when we return to shop I'm sure every eye in the city will be gazing upon the even more lovely lady I have with me. This is your type of city, my love. Your elegance is made for a city such at this." He smiled at her with the awareness that what he was saying was totally true. She was beauty beyond compare, sophisticated and elegant.

Inara smiled softly, "You are too kind, my Lord, I fear that the eyes every woman will be on you," she crinkled her nose slightly, "I will have to beat them off with a stick," she added with a soft chuckle as her fingers played lightly over his inner thigh.

He laughed and placed a kiss upon her lips. "You are a dove and they but crows, you so over the other ladies doth show. I have no eyes for anyone but you." The carriage was now in the countryside and the snow was at least a half-foot deep in this area. The carriage wheels followed the groves in the road and the horses didn't seem to mind at all.

She grins softly, "And I you my love, so neither of us need worry about it," she answers with a bright smile, "in fact sense leaving Rhy-Din I have been so unworried about anything that I feel as if the whole world could pass me by, so long as you are with me I would not care," she answers softly and nestles in under his chin, kissing his neck softly.

He kept her nestled within his arms as they road to Wakefield Manor. It was a beautiful ride through the countryside, but as the day wore on the clouds thickened and threatened more snow to soon fall. A cold December dusk was coming upon the land as the carriage rode up a several mile drive to Wakefield Manor. The lights in the windows of the Manor could be seen at some distance, but it wasn't until the carriage pulled up to the circular drive that the extent of the decorating could be appreciated. Candle lights, boughs of pine, holly, garland and large red bows could be seen at every window and door. When the carriage pulled to the front door, the door opened and a warm golden glow welcomed the weary travelers.

Inara was drifting towards sleep, the baby wearing on her with the same night sickness that plagued her every night now as she snuggled in close to Gav through the trip, her eyes barly open as they approached the castle, her head just barely rising to look out at the house and she smiled a bit weakly, "Such a big home," she muttered softly, her voice a touch strained, she was more then ready to leave the swaying carriage behind, "I might get lost in there," she muttered, keeping her sense of humor.

He smiled, "That's one of the games we must play when you feel rested, my love. You get lost, and I come and find you." He gave her a wink to indicate the reward in the finding. The carriage door opened and several of the staff came out to greet the Lord and Lady, to help them inside, and to retrieve the luggage. The carriage and driver would reside at the guest house this eve, and return on the morrow.

Diedre came forward, seeing how tired Inara was. "You must be Inara. Oh my word, you are as lovely as m'lord Gavilean said in his letter. We've got hot tea and a meal to fix you up, and your room is warm and the fireplace well logged. Come m'dear."

Gavilean looked at Diedre, "Don't I get a welcome too?"

"Oh pssft," she said. "Be careful or you'll be gettin' yer own food now," she added with a grin. She looked to Inara, "We mus' be careful nay to spoil th' lord."

Inara smiled softly at Diedre, "Thank you," she nodded, curtseying slightly and then glanced at Gav as the woman snapped at him, "I fear I have far surpassed wishing to spoil him," she answers and looks at her once more before letting the woman lead them inside, glad for the warmth, though it caught her a little off guard with a wave of nausea.

Gavilean followed the women and then put his arm around Inara, "You need the loo my love?"

She shook her head taking a settling breath, "I'm okay," she answered tugging off her gloves, "just need a minute to get use to the heat," her voice reflected her love as she paused to kiss him softly, and moved to slip off her cloak.

He helped her with her garments while her luggage was brought up to her room. "We can just sit in the library for a while, and then make it an early night."

Inara nodded, "Sounds good," she wasn?t sure she would keep much down anyway, not that she had eaten much at all that day.

Gavilean dressed early and took a stroll about the Manor house, greeting the guests. Diedre went to Inara's room to see if she can be of any assistance to the Lady. Inara woke slowly with the morning dawn, the big bed around her feeling desperately empty as the sun streamed in through the main windows leading into the room. It was early yet, too early for her care, she had grown use to late mornings and the persistent tapping on her door was reminding her as she such as she smoothed her hair slightly and slowly sat up. It must be Diedre, Gav's maid had been nothing but kind to her, but rather rough with Gav. She stifled a tired yawn before calling out softly, "Come in." She doubted highly that she could have raised her voice at this point, the slight feeling on nausea still lingered, but was dissipating quickly as sleep began to fully ease from her mind and allowed her to think clearly one more.

Gavilean descended the steps of the large marble staircase that was at the entrance to the Manor. He waited around for Inara, and while he waited he announced to the head butler that all the staff was to assemble in the great hall after breakfast.

Inara had been right in her guess that it was the plump little woman and with much reluctance drew herself from the bed. The lady was sweet and all, but she would have much rather have slept a few more hours. She got herself cleaned up and dressed in one of the few gowns she had brought, a blue velvet off the shoulder gown with white lace trim. She settled her hair up slightly, pinning it in place and assuring the woman that she was quiet well and fine, that mearly the travel had worn her just the past night. She gathered herself together before moving to head for the door, gathering her skirts as she let Diedre guide her to Gav.

The scents of breakfast were wafting through the lower halls and Gav couldn't wait to get started with the day. The staff would meet his fianc?e, they would be given instructions regarding what was to happen regarding the wedding, and the planning put in place. Then he and Inara would take a sleigh ride and cut down the Christmas Tree. Gavilean stood at the bottom of the stairs and looked up. He smiled when he saw his beautiful woman at the top of the stairs.

Inara smiled back at Gav as she slipped down the stairs towards him, holding her skirts from her feet as she approached him, "Good morning love."

"Good morning, my darling." He took her in his arms and gave her a kiss. "Are you feeling better. I know you were quite exhausted last night, as I was also."

"I am, though I could have slept longer," she adds softly and almost teasingly.

He smiled and whispered, "Tomorrow morning you'll sleep much longer....and not alone." He led her into the dining hall where they were seated together at the head of the table. Servants quickly attended them, serving a full English breakfast.

"Black or white?" a serving lass asked Inara.

The lady looks up from straightening her linen napkin over her lap looking half confused at the question , "I beg your pardon?" She asked softly.

"Black or white, milady,? she asked again with a curtsey.

Gavilean whispered to Inara, "She wants to know if you like cream in your coffee or want it black."

Inara mutters softly about spending too much time in the inn, "White please," she answers, then seems to clue into what Gav had said, "Tea," she adds quickly, "if it can be arranged."

"Of course, milady," the girl said.

CHAPTER 3 - IN SEARCH OF A CHRISTMAS TREE
AND OTHER DANGEROUS THINGS

The breakfast was over and the assembly of the staff had completed. Gavilean had introduced his fianc?e and each had come to Inara and bowed and introduced themselves. They were then given preliminary instructions regarding the upcoming wedding ceremony. They were informed by Gavilean that Inara would have the final word for all arrangements. There was excitement in the air and a desire amongst the staff to get started. They departed, leaving Gavilean and Inara alone in the great hall.

Inara had watched the whole proceeding with interest, greeting each staff member with the courtesy as if each themselves were the only people in the world at that moment. By the time they had departed she was feeling much better. Breakfast had settled on her stomach well and she was very content as she moved to hug her fianc? , slipping onto her toes to kiss him softly. "Now where to my sweet love?" she purred happily.

He returned the kiss and smiled. "You are about to be introduced to the English winter countryside. I've instructed for a sleigh to be brought to the front. We need a a great tree for the hall, and we shall cut one down, plus a small one for our own room." Let's get ready, my love.

She smiled with excitement as she turned to head back up to her room to fetch warm clothes and winter cloak before returning to the front foyer to wait for Gav once more, or meet him, which was more likely.

Gav was actually later to the foyer than Inara, for he had certain instructions to be given to the staff. He met her with a kiss and took her arm. "You look so good, my darling."

She smiled sweetly at him, "I couldn't have my love board with my appearance now could I?" She answered with a gentle tease.

He laughed. "That will never happen." He led her outside to the waiting sleigh and helped her up into it. He sat beside her and took the reins to the horse. The horse had bells on its tack, and they rang as the sled pulled away.

Inara smiled sweetly, moving to snuggle in against Gav's warmth and she grinned at the leather gloves on his hands, "I shall have to replace your jacket next," she grinned at him playfully enjoying the sound of the horse moving through the snow, the gentle ringing with his movement.

He looked down at his jacket, with a mock hurt look. "This is my best work jacket!"

She grinned and curled her nose, "I can tell," she answered keeping up with his playful reasons.

The sleigh traveled along a rode on the Wakefield estate. It ran past fields and finally into a forest area. Snow had started to fall again, it is was nice to be under the partial cover of the forest.

Inara shivered slightly at the cooling chill but smiled all the same, ignoring the coolness for the love of the activity. Her eyes scanned the forest around them, gazing trees as they passed but assumed that Gav had a specific place in mind to choose from.

They came to a grove of blue spruce, white pine and other evergreens. "Do you see any that would fill the hall...and one for our Master Suite?"

She grinned, "Oh plenty that would fill the hall," she states, "they're all so large and beautiful," her eyes scanned the group then pointed to a Blue spruce, "That one would be beautiful in the hall," she points out with a smile, before looking around for something smaller for their room.

He looked at it and nodded in agreement. "Let's cut it down!" He jumped out of the sleigh and went to her side to help her out.

She grinned at him and his enthusiasm watching him cross the back of the sleigh and letting him help her down, sinking a little in the snow, "I hope the ax is plenty sharp," she points out with a grin as she steps away slightly to let him retrieve it, and at the same time still searching for something for their room.

"Oh...it's quite sharp! Just give me some room!" He trudged through the snow and came to the tree. He took off his good gloves and spit on his hands and began to shop at the tree with great stroke of the ax.

She gave him plenty of room, wondering away from the sleigh and into the wood to look around her step slowed only slightly by the snow as she looked for the perfect little tree, from time to time brushing bits of falling snow from her hair as she drew a little farther from him in her search, listening to his chopping as a gage to how far she was getting from him as she went, once she was out of his sight.

Gavilean

He was careful where the tree would fall. Later in the day it would take several strong men, a wagon and a team of horses to get it to the manor. Finally the creek of limbs could be heard as the tree crashed to the ground. "That's one!" he shouted out."

She grinned as she heard his voice call out to her, "Very good my manly husband, now come here and get the other," she teased as she happened upon the perfect little tree, full around and thick and green with just a touch of white on the end of its needles.

He walked over to her, the ax over his shoulder. "This is the tree that shall keep us company at night." He winked and began to chop away. In no time the tree was on the ground and he started to pull it to the sleigh. "Don't just stand there...help me." He grinned.

"If you need the tree, then I fear I have not done a good enough job and shall have to redouble my efforts to please you, my soon to be husband," she grinned at him. She curls her nose again but reaches for the end of the tree and gripping it firmly lifts it from the snow and helps him carry it back.

They get it close to the sleigh when he lets go and tackles her, bringing her down into the snow. "Now you are mine!"

She squeals in shock as she feels snow envelop her body, his coming down on top of her and lets out a soft, oof, and blinks looking up at him, then grins a wicked grin, "You do huh?" She smirks and hooks a hand on his jacket kissing him deeply just before dropping a handful of snow down the back of his shirt.

He enjoyed the kiss, but not the snow down the shirt:: "Ahhhh!!! No fair. You cheat!!"

She laughs, "Who?s cheating? You jumped me remember," she grins, "alls fair in love and war," she adds.

"Oh yeah! Well then, this must be fair!" He took her hands in his, spread them out, and began to kiss her like he'd love to make love right there in the snow.

Her arms tense under his as she returns the kiss deeply, moaning in need, her tongue pressing against his a soft, unhappy needful whine escaping her throat, being away from him the night before had left her wanting and needing his touch and he was driving her insane, at that point she would have gladly hiked up her skirts and taken him, despite the cold.

He slowly ended the kiss and looked into her beautiful eyes. "I can't wait for tonight"

"I don't think I can wait to get home," she breathed softly, "I missed your touch so last night it burned inside, I need her," she breathed softly, her eyes on his.

He helped her onto her feet and into the sleigh. He then placed the tree in the back of the sleigh and headed back. The snow was not fallen harder.

Inara curled up against Gav once more, it hadn?t been the answer she had been looking for but all the same she wanted to get back, just to be with him, her gloved fingers made soft movements over his leg as she listened to the sound of the horses movements once more.

He put a blanket over them both as they rode through the snow. His arm went around her and he kissed her cheek. "I love you so much."

She smiled softly at his words, "I love you too," she answered softly, her fingers drifting farther up his leg, "I think we should play that game of hide and seek when we get back," she adds with a tiny playful smile.

Her touch was magic to him. He clicked his tongue and sped up the horse...then started singing, "Jingle bells...."

Inara laughed as he started to sing, "Can I make that voice higher?" she purrs playfully, as she drifts her fingers even father up his leg, towards the deep warmth and softness between them, cupping gently with her gloved fingers.

Moans and his song is suddenly shortened. He releases the reins and takes her into his arms, and cradles her as his mouth comes against her. "I'm so in love with you, my darling."

She shocked when he lets go of the reins and looks up at him, "Gav the horse," she states quickly.

He eyes widen. "Oh shit!" He had forgotten what he was doing and the horse was now running wild.

Inara, duck in against Gav slightly nervousness crossing her face, but expected her fianc? to pull off some feat of magic to calm the horse or get the reins back.

He leans forward and reaches for the reins..."I've almost....." suddenly he disappeared over the front of the sleigh.

Gavilean

"GAV!" Inara screams, her hands catching the front of the sleigh, pulling herself forward to glance over the edge, panic sensing her chest.

He doesn't show up...gone...then there is a yelp. He's holding onto the sleigh, being dragged through the snow.

Inara shivers fearfully, "Oh gods," she looks around her anything that might help, before cursing softly and collecting her skirt to the waist steps up onto the very edge of the sleigh and pushes off, for a minute she?s airborne, then she feels the horse comfortably under her legs as she lads fully on his thick broad back, harness leathers around her and reaching forward grabs the reins and tugs,

He begins to feel the sled slow down.

speaking calmly to the horse despite her own fears she manages to bring the heavy beast to a stop before leaning over his neck shaking like a child.

Gav let's go of the sled, now looking quite similar to a snowman.he lies there motionless.

She glances back at Gav over her shoulder, unshed tears in her eyes as she slips off the horse, ignoring the sound of skirts tearing as she collects them around her and rushes to Gav side. "My love?" she breaths in concern, her fingers out of her glove reaching out to touch his face.

His is covered...packed with the snow he was pulled through. Out of the pile of snow his eyes blinked. "I feel....cold."

She gasped in a ragged breath as he spoke and moved to quickly brush snow away from his body, tugging him free from under the sleigh and grabbed the blanket, "Its better then I fell hurt," she answered, tears streaking her face.

He tried to lift his head up..."I was just checking the bottom of the sleigh..."

"You scared the life out of me," she hissed, her hands trembling as she moves to help him up, "be glad it was snow and not rock," she adds, trying to calm herself and wiping furiously at the tears.

"I'm sorry, sweetheart. It was not exactly the way I envisioned it happening." He rolled onto his back...freezing.

"Well help me get you back in the sleigh so I can get you home and dry and warm," she answers, her voice taking on a slight edge, not wanting him to be in the snow or outside for much longer.

He nodded and struggled to his feet. "Never had that happen before," He was shivering. "I think I have snow in every part of my clothes and body."

To that she smiles as she wraps the blanket around him and helps him to the sleigh and back into his seat before moving to collect the reins and joined him starting the horse off once more, keeping a smooth hand on the reins, "Well at least it cooled us both down," she points out.

Shivering, "It w-would t-take a t-ton of s-snow to c-cool me down...my l-love."

She glanced at Gav and moved to snuggle against him, to let her body heat warm him as she fallowed their tracks back to the manor as quickly as she could, pulling the horse up just outside, "Well I must say this is the most eventful Christmas tree cutting I have ever been to," she joked softly and moved to help him inside.

He shivered as they went inside. "Let's not let Deidre see me....I'll n-never hear the end of it."

She smirks, "Your never going to hear the end of it anyway," Inara answers but immediately guides him up the stairs and towards his room, "foolish man scaring me like that, I should have let the damned fool horse drag you all the way home, you owe me a new dress you know," she adds, her words trailing into one another a sign of how nervous she really had been.

He begins to undress, embarrassed over being such a klutz on the sleigh. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. My hands were slippery and I just went right over the front."

She waited till he was completely naked to move from where she had been leaning against his bedroom door, her steps quickly clearing the distance between them her lips coming down hard on his as her fingers curled into his damp hair, her body pressing against him, the soft velvet dress the only thing between them now.

"Mmmmm..." was all he could say as he held her to himself, and kissed her deeply. "I think I would get w-warmer if your naked body was pressed against mine. They say that's a good way to warm someone."

She growls softly at his words, thinking about saying something more about the whole thing, but dismissing it a moment later as she moved to slip free the ties of her dress and let the garment fall to the floor followed but her corset and underwear.

Gavilean watched her clothes fall to the floor, his eyes upon her beautiful body, shining with appreciation. He took a step forward and lifted a hand to gently cup her breast and feel her nipple. His lips began to kiss her eyes and then her cheeks, and then her nose...and finally to her lips.

Inara moved to quickly meet his lips, despite the cool of his skin as she wrapped her arms around him, her fingers burying themselves in his hair as she pressed her lips hard to his before slowly breaking the kiss, "Your cold my love, I think I should put you to bed," she purred softly. She carefully nudges him back towards the bed, shoving him down onto it as she straddles his hips, drawing him into another deep kiss, her tongue invading his mouth as she rocked her naked body against his.

He was helpless to resist in any way, not that he wanted to; but she had such an effect on him that if were to push up off a balcony he'd go willingly. He looked up at her as she straddled his hips, then stared at where their bodies came together, seeing himself positioned against the warmth of her body. His hands reached into her hair and grasped it, holding her tightly to his mouth as he sucked on her tongue and rocked his hips against hers.

She groaned hotly at his attentions, gods she loved this man. Then his expression changed into a mischievous grin. He suddenly tossed her off to the side and swung his leg over her and positioned himself on her back. "So, my beautiful horse rider...I'm beginning to think that you tricked me into losing those reins just so that you could show me up!" He sat on her butt and held her hands pinned down. "Now, what should I do to you?"

She squealed as he threw her off hitting the sheets with a soft oof and looked back at him as he pinned her. "Show you up?" She asked incredulously and fighting hot panting breaths at him leaving her empty and wanting, " I was scared to death," she rumbled, her hands fighting his hold slightly only because she wanted him back in her and he was driving her insane, feeling him sitting so close to where she wanted him, but not being buried in her.

"Oh, I think you just wanted me to look like a snow man," he teased and slipped his legs between hers and nibbled on the back of her neck.
His face moved forward to be against hers. "Oh, my love," his breathing was hard. "Oh, what you do to me...." his lips moved against her cheek and his arms held her tightly against him. "I love you, Inara...with all my heart. I shall love you forever."

Inara smiled softly as she looked back at Gav and moved to kiss him softly, "I love you too," she answered softly and moved to guild him down to the bed with her, tugging the sheets around them, "Lay with me for a minute, Then I think we should clean up and get dressed and start on some of those wedding plans."

He laid down, exhausted and facing her, embracing her in his arms, totally spent. His hand playing with her hair and tracing the contour of the side of her face. "I can't wait to be married. I never want to spend another day without you being with me."

She smiled softly up at him, "Does that mean that tonight we will be sleeping in the same room?"

"Yes," he whispered. "I don't care what Deidre says, I need you with me."

She smiled softly and moved to curl deeper into his arms I love you so, give me a couple of days and we will be married. Can you get a minister in three days?" She asked softly.

Oh yes...the Wakefields are members of the local parish and that part of the arrangements has already been made.

She nodded, glad for that, "Then there is little left for me to do then to decorate your hall and get the flowers delivered."

"Yes...you just tell them how you want it done and direct the staff. They all seem to like you very much. I can tell because not once has Deidre accused me of being out of my mind." He gave her a wink.

Inara grins at him, "Well then I'm glad for that I would hate to think they disliked me in anyway," she answered with a soft smile.

He kissed her lips. "All is going so well and smoothly. It's such a relief. We should be getting ready and discuss plans in the library. You can wear my robe to your room."

She smiles sweetly, "Thank you my love," she nods and moves to slip from his bed, retrieving his robe and all but burying herself in it, checking the hall before disappearing out of the room and heading for hers to gather fresh clothes and get dressed.

CHAPTER 4 - ENCOUNTER WITH A BROTHER

A voice comes from a shadow in the hallway between her bedroom and the Master Suite. "That robe looks much better on you than it ever did on him." His eyes looking from her bare feet, to the exposed part of her legs, to the way the robe folded over her curves.

Inara jumped at the voice, her dark eyes immediately moving to the shadow, for a moment regretting leaving her dagger in her bedroom as she tried to see through the darkness, keeping the robe pulled snuggly closed in front of her, "I beg your pardon?" She asked trying to see the man beyond, knowing she was still close enough to Gav's room to head back if need be.

A man appears out of the dark area of the hall. He is indeed handsome and has the obvious appearance of being a Wakefield. "I hope I didn't startle you." He walked up close to her, his eyes taking in her features. "Please allow me to introduce myself. I'm your soon-to-be brother-in-law." A slight smile came to his lips. "I'm Andrel Wakefield."

Inara came up at his words straightening and taking on a more strong air, any nervousness shifting away, she would give this man that Gav had warned her about a chance to unnerve her. "Startle me, no, but I had thought the hall empty and am not use to being stopped by strange men when I am barely dressed to be seen."

He smiled, "I think you are dressed perfectly well." He tried to get a glimpse of flesh but she had the robe pulled too tightly. "You must be my brother's fianc?e. I can see why he was attracted to you."

She nods slightly, "Thank you, but I really should get to my room and get dressed," she answered looking for some avenue around him.

He put his right arm out across her path. "I was let out of the prison for good behavior and as an example of the King's clemency in the holiday season. I had pleaded my case based upon your wedding, so I'm very grateful to you." He looked at his right hand and to the thumb that was missing there. "Your betrothed did that to me. We had a little match of skill and he removed my thumb. I'm learning to be left handed now. They say that left handed people are sinister."

She blinked as he blocked her path still. "I hope for your sake they are wrong," she answers strongly, crossing her arms half angrily across her chest, keeping the robe closed over her, "I really must pass now," she repeated.

He let his arm drop to his side and did a bow with the wave of his arm. "By all means. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better since we are soon to be relatives." He grinned and again looked her over from head to toe.

"As I do you," she answered, it was a lie, but then again she was trained to tell lies as if they were truth, she moved to pass him quickly, heading for her room door.

He watched her, examining her calves as she walked to her room. When the door was closed, he moved quickly to her door. He heard it lock. A quick look up and down the hall, and when he saw no one, he brought his eye down to the key hole and looked through it.

She pushed quickly into her room, closing the door behind her locking it securely and slumping back against it, her anger fuming as she tugged away the sash to the robe and dropped it to hang on the door handle and quickly moved to her bag to grab her dress, unaware of the fact that she had just spoiled her brother in laws attempts to spy on her, but would have been happy to do so. She dug out her only other velvet dress that she had brought and tugged it on, the soft light purple velvet hugged her every curve and was cut low over her chest in one of those cuts Gav loved to look down, she had brought the dress intentional for Gav. Now she dug out a shawl and pulled the matching colored silk over her bare shoulders letting it meet the top of her sleeves and secured it in front of her chest to keep her chest lightly covered, though the silk was made to be partially see through. She grabbed her dagger and saw to its fit where she always wore it out of sight in the folds of her skirt, then headed for the door, collecting the robe to return to Gav and unlocking the door threw it open to head for her future husbands room once more.

His heart pounded when he saw that she was removing the robe so close to the door, but then cursed when the robe covered the keyhole. "Damn," he muttered as he straightened up. "I'll see you another time, up close and personal, my dear sister," he said to himself as he went down the hall and disappeared somewhere within the manor.

Inara crossed the hall to Gav's room once more, knocking lightly before stepping inside, "I brought your robe back," she sang happily.

He was dressed in a warm, wool uniform, wide at the shoulders and trim at the waist. It was gray with black filagree and matching pants that were tucked into black leather boots that came nearly to his knee. His hair was washed and now slightly damp, but looked great. "Thank you, darling! Oh...and you look so good!"

She smirked, "I met your brother," she stated without preamble, laying his robe gently over the back of the chair and turning to look at him, crossing her arms over her chest.

His eyes widened. "You've met Andrel?" he questioned. "That's impossible. He's in prison."

"Apparently not, less I am losing my mind. Mayhaps I hit my head when jumping onto that horse, or I may have still been swooning over our last little play in bed, but he was there, said he got off on good behavior, that our wedding got him out early. It was all very confusing. He told me you cut off his thumb?" She gave Gav a confused look, he had never mentioned that to her, only that he was a sick man and that Gav did not trust him.

Gavilean pressed his fingers to his forehead and thought. "I'm sure you saw him, my love. I'm just quite surprised that he got out of prison. Those who are evil seem to have ways to manipulate the system every time." He looked at her. "Yes, I did cut off his thumb. He challenged me to a duel to the death after I discovered him in the midst of trying to rape Madison. He nearly killed me, for he's a skilled swordsman. However he was not trained in warfare. In the midst of the duel he left his hand unguarded and in trying to relieve him of his sword he lost his thumb. I spared his life, but he was tried and sentenced to prison.

Inara nodded and sighed, "Then I am glad I will be sharing your bed tonight instead of sleeping alone," she answered softly and moved to cross the space between them, folding into his arms, "Should we head for the library then? Maybe get something to eat on the way?"

He held her tightly, "Yes, my darling. And don't you worry, Andrel won't try anything again. I think he's learned his lesson."

She nods, "I'm glad, I would not take kindly to him trying to get into our bed," she answered with a soft smile, trying to make a joke.

Gavilean just made a half effort to smile, knowing all that his brother had done to make Madison his own. "If he does, the next thing he'll enter is his own grave."

Inara nodded, slowly slipping from his arms and taking his hand, "Lets go, maybe I'll get lucky and there will be some shortbread cookies downstairs," she smiles up at him.

CHAPTER 5 - CHRISTMAS SHOPPING IN LONDON

The following morning the sun broke through the clouds but the temperature did not pass 0 Celsius. It was mid-morning when Gavilean awoke with Inara in his arms, as he was learning how nice it was to keep her hours. He kissed and said, "I have a surprise for you today."

Inara slowly opened her eyes at his words and smiled softly, the evening had been a very pleasurable one and she looked up at him, her fingers playing lightly over his chest, "A surprise huh? I like surprises."

He grinned and reached into the draw of the nightstand and pulled out two tickets. He waggled his eyebrows. "Today we're going to London! And these are two tickets to the theater for tonight. We're going to stay in London at the great Horseheads hotel."

Inara blinked in surprise, "You?re taking me to the theater?" She grins.

He laughed, "You better believe it, my dear!" He poked her teasingly. "We'll do some shopping, have dinner and then go to the theater. It'll be too long a trip to come home tonight, so we'll stay in London and return tomorrow."

The grin grows, "You do spoil me my love, it sounds wonderful," she answers and moves to push him over and straddles his hips, "I love you so."

He looks up at her with a big smile on his face, "And I love you...and I love you in this position."

Inara chuckles, "I know you do," she answers softly, "but you have plans and sex wasen't in them," she pointed out.

He laughed, "My darling, with you sex is always in my plans. That's a given." He looked at the way she was sitting on him, ?So if you don't want me to suddenly adjust our plans, you better adjust your position quickly!"

She grins and moves to slip off him, standing to slip from the bed and moving to the change of clothing she had brought with her the night before.

He got up and walked behind her, taking her breasts in his hand and pressing up against her. "See what you do to me?" He kissed her on the neck. "You are just irresistible, my love."

She grinned feeling his arousal against her naked ass and looked up at him, "Next time you'll have to wake us earlier or schedule in extra time," she teased softly.

He nibbled on her neck. "I shall surely remember that, my love." They got cleaned up and dressed, and had a quick breakfast that the kitchen had prepared. By an hour before noon they were in a carriage drawn by six horses. It was Wakefield's own carriage and driver, and they would remain at their disposal throughout the trip.

Inara settled into the carriage, in much better shape this time around and looking forward to the trip as she made sure to give Gav room to join her, humming happily to herself.

Gavilean had the customary top hat and cane and looked rather dashing. "This would never do in Rhydin, but for London it's required." He winked, happy to see Inara so happy and humming. He also wore a black topcoat with a white scarf about his neck.

Inara herself had settled in a deep blue silk and velvet gown with trims and flashes of gold, a black and deep blue cloak of rabbit fur, with a flowing skirt and high heeled shoes, a scarf of blue and gold weave around the collar of the gown.

With the roads reasonably clear and the sun shining brightly, they made good time, arriving in London by two in the afternoon. The driver had been instructed to bring them to the central market district and to a particular jewelry shop. "Here we are, sweetheart, our first stop. To get you a wedding ring that will knock people's socks off." The door opened and the driver waiting to help them exit.

Inara smiled softly, "You mean the engagement ring isn't big enough?" She moved to step out of the carriage carefully, letting the coachman help her down to the curb and she paused to look around before moving to give Gav the room to fallow.

Gavilean stepped out behind her, put the top hat on his head and took a deep breath of the cool, London air. "Isn't this magnificent!" he said, looking up and down the street that was lined with lamp posts and carriages. People were walk all over, doing their holiday shopping. Gavilean gave Inara his arm and asked, "What do you think? Anything like you remembered it?"

She smiles before leaning in against Gav dropping her voice slightly, "My dear Gav, when you are hired to spend time in the palace, and are being paid to be there, you don't leave until the job is done, I fear I did not get to see the city much other then by the passing of carriage, but it is beautiful, though a bit more crowded then I thought it would be."

The reminder of her previous vocation brought some jealousy to the pit of his stomach, but he quickly put it aside. "Well, we shall make up for that lack of a tour over the next two days. Let's step inside."

Inara at Gav moving to fallow him, "No one compares to you my love, they are all nothing but shadows long forgotten, I have what I want and I will never want for more," she stated softly, leaning against him gently, "you are my soul."

He smiled and patted her hand on his arm. "I love you so much," he said softly. They went inside and walked around the shop, looking at various wedding bands to determine what would compliment her engagement ring. "Any preferences, my darling? Anything that catches your eye?"

She looked through the glass displays, her eyes scanning rings for him as well as the ladies rings before she pointed at one of the men's rings, I'd like to get that one for you," she answered with a grin, the band was pure gold with a Celtic knot design on the band. "But I'm not sure about for myself, you see anything?" She asked.

His eyes widened in delight. "I had noticed that same ring myself! I love it. Are you reading my mind?" He smiled and pointed at a gold wedding ban with several inset diamonds. "What about that one? The smaller diamonds should accent and show off the one of your engagement ring."

She looks over at the ring and calls over the sales person, letting the lady try the ring on against her engagement band and smiled at the way the two complimented each other, "It looks great," she answered.

"I think so too. If you like it, it's yours."

She nodded and grinned, "I love it, its perfect," she answered carefully slipping the band off and handing it back to the saleswoman

He nodded to the sales woman, "We'll take that ring and also the men's ring with the Celtic Knot design." After they were sized for the rings they were told to return tomorrow morning and they would be ready for pickup. They went into Harrods and came out with gifts for the staff, Alat?riel and Garry. Gavilean was loaded down with packages and was glad the driver had the carriage nearby. After a dinner in a fine London restaurant called "The Pewter Tankard", Gav asked, "How about we walk to the theater? It's such a nice evening and we can do some window shopping."

Inara had enjoyed the day and was comfortably on his arm, "Sounds like a wonderful idea my love," she answered softly. "I could use the air and the walk, keep feeding me like that and I'm sure not to ever lose the baby weight I'm going to gain."

He chuckled, "I'd love you if you were as big as an elephant. It might hurt a bit when you straddle my hips, but...." he glanced in her direction to see if he was about to get hit.

There was a slight twist to Inara's lip, a dirty look before she laughed, "Well in that case I might as well give up on staying trim and just get fat and lazy," she offered.

"HEY! I was just joking," he laughed. I love this cute, sexy body of your. Besides, if you're fat and lazy you won't be able to rescue me from the sleigh next time!" He put his arm around her shoulder and pointed to a Christmas display in a shop window that showed snowmen in kilts. "Now that's interesting."

"Very, I haven't got to see you in yours yet," she grinned looking up at him sidelong.

He just raised an eyebrow and said in a mock Scottish accent, "Well now, lass, there'd be nothing ye be seein' beneath m' kilt th' ye haven't seen already."

She grins, "Hmm, now why would you be avoiding showing me your kilt hmm?" She leans against him slightly, "I may have already seen it, but just think about how accessible you would be to me," she grins playfully.

His face brightened, "Ah, good point! I shall be wearing my kilt more often!" He laughed and they continued down the street until they heart carolers in the center of the street, singing Christmas carols. Gavilean stopped and put his arms around Inara. The afternoon had clouded up and snow was once again falling lightly. He looked at her, and no words were needed to express his love.

Inara listened to the words of the song before feeling his gaze and looked up at him again and smiled sweetly, "My sweet love," she breathed softly, and snuggled in against him, kissing his chin.

He sighed and just enjoyed the moment of pure peace. How nice it was to have just the two of them together. In a few minutes they continued to the theater and walked inside. It was a majestic theater and Gavilean had obtained seats in the orchestra section, only 6 rows back from the stage.

Inara walked with him on his arm and down to their seats, sweeping her skirts beneath her as she sat and waited for Gav to sit with her before leaning slightly on his arm, "I thank you Gav, for taking me here, this day has been nothing but perfect."

He looked at her and smiled, "I was hoping you'd like this. It's a romantic comedy. I'm so proud to be with you, darling. My heart is filled with love."

She grinned at him, "As am I, just to be here with you," she answered softly, and kissed him softly, "unfortunately were too close to the stage to make out in the dark," she teased.

He tried not to smile, catching the condescending glance of a stuffy old woman in the row in front of them. The lights went down and the stage lights lit up; and Gav's hand went to Inara's knee.

Inara smiled sweetly and tried not to laugh at the look they got for her words, her gaze for a moment moving to his hand before she went back to watching the stage as the play began.

They topped off the shopping trip with a night of love in the famous hotel, and the following morning they left London to once again attend to the wedding plans at Wakefield Manor.

CHAPTER 6 - THE WAKEFIELD WEDDING

The entire city of Swaffham, England was excited. It was the Friday before Christmas and Lord Gavilean Wakefield and his Lady Inara Serra were getting married just before the traditional Yule Ball. All the lords and ladies of Swaffham were invited. Invitations also went out to the nobles of neighboring cities all the way to London. People had begun to gather in Swaffham since noon, taking rooms in the city. Special guest were arriving from London and would be staying at Wakefield Manor.

Gavilean was a bundle of nerves, giving orders to the staff, checking and double checking all of the preparations. It would have been bad enough just to organize the Yule Ball, but this was his wedding! Several times Deidre nearly put a pan over his head to keep him out of her way. Now the time was approaching and Gavilean was in his suite with his valet, Robert, trying to be as handsome as possible for his gorgeous bride.

Inara spent more then the better part of the morning preparing for this, another night had been spent without her love, at the insistence of Deidre that they not see each other at all before the wedding that day she had made sure they had not spent the night together. Inara had seen to keeping her door locked through the night and slept little. Her dress arrived early that morning and she was thankful for it, her girl always delivered on time. Inara dressed with some help of the ladies in the castle and she was glad for it, the amount of buttons on the back of the dress were staggering and she couldn't help but giggle at the idea of her Gavilean trying to get them all undone once they were alone. She bustled about in getting ready, washing herself fully, seeing to feminine needs, smoothing her legs and arms and painting her lips and eyes. She was careful in pleating her hair into a delicate braid and slipped earrings in place before finally stepping into the gown itself. Embroidered with beads and lace the train spilled out behind her but not so far as to be cumbersome, the dress only cover to just above the dark of her breasts, everything else up was of sheer lace, covering her arms fully. She was the absolute picture of beauty. She smoothed the skirts before allowing the girls to bustle her into a pure white satin rabbit fur lined clock and escorted her to her sleigh, and from there to the entrance to the hall that had been fully decorated in white roses with pink and green back ground. She was carefully escorted off the sleigh and towards the hall doors, handed a bundle of white roses as her arrival was announced to the hall.

Gavilean chose to put aside the traditional tux and tales for the even more gallant dress uniform of a Knight Captain in the king?s army. The dress uniform was black wool with gold filigree that was fancy and plenteous at the collar and cuffs. The uniform had a high collar and was tailored to a perfectly slim waist. The matching black uniform pants were perfectly tailored with no wrinkle in the legs. He wore black dress boots that were shined to perfection. At his side was the ceremonial saber. This shirt was white and ruffled. His hair was washed and long and laying perfectly on his shoulders. He was shaved and smelled good enough to have a train of ladies following behind. He went down the stairs with perfect posture, Robert at his side. Men stared and women swooned. At the bottom of the stairs he met the English Anglican minister, Rev. Richard Hume. They discussed the ceremony, going over the same things they've all gone over several times before. Gavilean, Robert and Rev. Hume went into the great hall through the back door. The hall was set up with an aisle going down the middle of two long sections of chairs, 500 seats to a side and every seat being filled with guests. Soon the word came that the bride had arrived. Gavilean and Rev. Hume walked to the head of the center aisle and Gavilean waited to see he lovely bride arrive.

Inara was swept forward towards the doors, her cloak removed and skirts straightened behind as the big doors were swung open to admit the bridal party, the young flower girl was a sweet little distant cousin, or so Inara figured, of Gav's and the ladies of the manor proceeded her before the band struck up and Inara entered the hall as the crowd stood at her entrance. She walked the aisle alone. A discussion that had been agreed upon by Gav and her, her father was dead, and with no one to replace him, she wanted to honor him, by walking the long aisle alone, despite what people would murmur. She locked her eyes on Gavilean as she swept slowly down the carpet with a graceful step, her white slippered feet soft in her step and perfectly placed despite the heel that raised her an extra couple of inches but still left her lower then Gav. She slowed as she reached him, smiling up at him softly, excitedly; she had only eyes for him at this moment.

When the music began and all the guests stood, Gavilean's heart began pounding. He saw Inara at the entrance of the Hall, but he would swear that he was looking at no mortal woman, but some divine, heavenly angel who had come to grace their wedding with her presence. He watched Inara walk toward him and he swallowed, stunned by the beautiful woman who really was going to marry him. He knew at that point that he was surely the most blessed of all men upon the earth. When she came up to him he smiled with such love and awe in his eyes that there could be no doubt that he would lay down his life a thousand times over for this woman. He took her right hand in his left and they turned to face the minister.

Inara had to fight the urge to throw herself into his arms and kiss him deeply. To whisper against his ear how much she loved him, and how good her looked. As they turned the minister she could not help but continue to watch Gav from the corner of her eye, her heart in her throat as she tried to listen to the man's words.

"Dearly beloved," he began, the double chinned, balding, overweight minister spoke loudly enough to be easily heard at the back row, "we are gathered here this evening to be participants in the marriage ceremony of Lord Gavilean Wakefield and the Lady Inara Serra. They shall marry themselves to each other by their words and promises to each other, witnessed by all of you here." He made a motion of his arms to indicate that all the guests should now be seated. He turned his attention to the couple standing before him. "Marriage is a gift of God, a solemn institution of lifelong commitment to one another. And so I ask you both to respond right now and say if it is your intention to willfully enter into the state of holy matrimony. If so, respond by saying, "I do."

Gavilean had no doubt in his mind, he clearly stated for all to hear, "I do."

Gavilean

Date: 2005-12-23 00:59 EST
Inara smiled softly at Gav, "I do," she answered softer then Gav had spoken, but only because she was just that type of person.

"Is there anyone here who can show good reason why this man and this woman should not be married? If so, speak now or forever hold your peace."

The crowd was silent. Even Andrel, in the first row, did not speak.

Inara held her breath nervously, worried someone would speak ill of the Lord Wakefield marrying a common courtesan.

The reverend then went into a short homily about the sacredness of marriage and the commitment that was required. After five minutes of such encouraging discourse, time was made for the orchestra to play and for a trio of young women to sing a beautiful song of love, their voices echoing in the hall. Following the song, Rev. Hume looked at Gavilean and Inara and said, "The time has come for your vows and the giving of rings." He looked to Gavilean. "Please state your vows and promises."

He turned to face Inara and he took her hands in his.

"Inara," he swallowed the lump in his throat, "I stand here and promise you that I will love and cherish you every day of your life. I will protect you, provide for you, put you first in everything, freely sacrificing for you. I will be faithful to you, loving you and no other. I will love you through good times and bad, sickness and health, poverty or wealth, loving you, forsaking all others. I give myself to you, all that I am, all that I have. I'm unworthy of you, but shall always strive to make you the happiest woman in the world. These are my vows and promises."

Rev. Hume turned to Inara, "Milady, it is your turn to express your vows and promises."

Inara's fingers tightened over Gav's and she smiled softly before speaking, her words carried shortly, for she spoke them as if he was the only person in the room, "My sweet loving Gavilean, I am for you, I cherish you and love you, will be with you through sacrifice and lose, through love and gain, illness and times of need, and times of giving and love. I give myself to you, with all my heart, forsaking all others and taking you solely, to be with me, until death parts us and beyond, this I vow to you."

Gavilean could feel his eyes welling up with emotion and he gave her hands a gentle squeeze. He could hear some sniffling from those in attendance, but his attention was totally upon Inara and her beautiful eyes.

The reverend cleared his throat, "It is time to seal your vows with the sharing of the rings. Just as a ring has no beginning or end, may that also be so with your love and devotion to each other." He signaled for Robert to give him Inara's ring. He took the ring and handed it to Gavilean. "Milord Gavilean, please place this ring on milady's finger and say, "With this ring, I do thee wed."

Inara never moved her gaze from Gav's face, her couldn't tear herself to look away just yet.

Gavilean took the ring that he and Inara had selected together. He took Inara's left hand in his left and held the ring with his right hand. He slipped it onto her finger and said, "Inara, my love, with this ring, I do thee wed."

She smiled softly at him, her eyes floating down to the ring, and then back to his gaze.

He turned to the lady in attendance and took from her Gavilean's ring. He handed the ring to Inara. "Milady, please place this ring on Lord Gavilean's finger and say, 'With this ring I do thee wed.'"

Her gaze again moved, this time to the ring, taking it carefully and moving to slip it carefully onto his finger, her hand closing over his, "With this ring I do thee wed," she repeated softly.

Gavilean

He couldn't believe that all this was really happening. They were being married and he didn't know if his body could contain all the love and happiness he was feeling. He held out his finger and watched Inara slide the ring onto it. His eyes went to hers and he smiled.

Inara looked up at Gav and smiled again, this time broarder

In as much as Lord Gavilean and Lady Inara have made vows and promised to each other; and since they have sealed those vows with the symbol of everlasting commitment to one another in the rings they shared," he paused for emphasis, "I now pronounce them Husband and Wife. Gavilean, you may kiss the bride."

Inara's smile brightened at the words.

The minister had said the words he had longed to hear - "I now pronounce you husband and wife" - and he beamed. He didn't need any coaxing to kiss his beautiful bride. He took Inara in his arms and whispered, "I love you." Then he kissed her.

Inara sunk into the kiss, this was the one time they could be truly indecent in front of many and she took full advantage, her arms wrapping around his neck, flowers resting in her hand as her tongue invaded his mouth, lips pressed tightly to his.

He kissed her deeply and seemed to only be urged on by the cheers and applause of all those standing in the hall. The kiss finally ended and he looked into her eyes, "I'm so proud to be your husband," he said.

Inara smiled softly, "I told you I wouldn't sail away on you," she purrs and kisses him softly once more before lowering fully to her feet once more.

Rev. Hume looked out amongst those gathered, "Lords and Ladies, honored guests, for the first time in history, I would like to present to you the Lord and Lady Wakefield!" The crowd broke into more applause and cheers.

Gavilean grinned at Inara and whispered, "I had every ship in England taken out to sea." He winked, then offered her his arm.

Inara smiled as she turned to regard the crowd, her fingers well entwined in his and she smiled softly at the crowd, the smile growing at Gav;s brother before she looked at Gav and grinned, "Wild horses wouldn't have kept me away, nor run away sleds," she teases, and lets him start to guide them from the room.

He beamed as they walked down the long aisle of Oxburgh Hall. The orchestra played and all eyes were on the newlyweds. Gavilean nodded and greeted the guests as the walked back to the large doors at the front of the hall. There they would greet the guest as they came out of the grand hall and into the hallways and other parts of Wakefield Manor for drinks and hors d?oeuvres. As soon as the guests were leaving the grand hall, the servants began to rearranged chairs with tables and set up the hall for dinner and dancing. The great Christmas tree was lit up, holly and greens and candles were everywhere, lighting up the hall as night settled in.

Inara stood the line with her husband, for the first time meeting many of the nobility though a few she knew from a few years prior, but none would have remembered the lowly woman hired to dance with the uncoupled men.

It took an hour to greet all the guests, and when they were done the orchestra played a waltz and Gavilean held out his arm to Inara. "This is our cue. We have the first dance."

Inara smiled and nodded slipping against his side, "I love you so Gav, this day has been perfect," she states softly as they enter the hall and she moves into position, letting him take the lead and meeting him step for step in what could have been a perfectly choreographed dance between the two.

THE HONEYMOON

The time came for the Lord and Lady Wakefield to leave the wedding reception. A signal from Gavilean to Robert, and Robert immediately left to have the carriage brought forward. Several minutes later Robert came back into Oxburgh Hall and gave Lord Wakefield a nod. Gavilean leaned over to his wife and kissed her cheek, then whispered, "I think it's time that we leave the reception. The guests are drunk enough to not notice."

Inara smiled back at him, "Sounds like an idea, I think the babe has had enough as well," she answered and offered him her hand as she stood from the chair she had settled in a few minutes prior, letting him help her to her feet.

He helped her up and they slowly made their way through the several hundred guests who were involved in eating, drinking, dancing, flirting, talking and other forms of socializing in the great hall. When they came to the front hall, Robert and Deidre had their coats in their hands. Gavilean helped Inara on with her coat then took his and slipped it on. They stepped out into the cold and into the waiting carriage. Inara slipped into her seat, sinking into the cushions with a soft happy sigh, waiting for Gav to join her before curling into his arms, "Well, here we are my husband, and I couldn't be happier."

His arms went around her and held her close as he placed a kiss upon her lips. "I know I'm the most blessed of all men, my love. I still can't believe that we are indeed married. I love you so very much." The carriage moved forward, heading to a prearranged location.

She smiled softly at him, "I love you too," she answered softly then glanced out at the passing world, shrugging deeper into her cloak, the white rabbit fur keeping her warm, "So where are you taking me?"

He grinned, "You'll just have to wait and see, my love." She didn't have to wait long. The carriage climbed a wooded road until it finally came to a clearing. In the clearing was a large, three-floor cottage with thatched roof, all brilliantly lit up and prepared for the newlyweds. "Here we are, Lady Wakefield; our own honeymoon cottage where we'll not be disturbed."

Inara smiled, "Peace and quite with just you and me, that will be nice, as long as you promise not to take us on anymore sleigh rides," she adds with a smirk.

He blushed and pouted, "That was just a fluke; but just to be extra careful, there will be no more sleigh rides." The carriage door opened at the door of the cottage (looking like a Kincade painting) and the driver stood there to help the lord and lady exit.

Inara slipped out carefully with the help of the two men, lifting her skirts slightly as she quickly tip toed her way through the snow to the cottage door, pulling her cloak even tighter to herself smiling at Gav's assurances that he would not take her on anymore rides.

Gavilean opened the door of the cottage and even he was surprised at the decorating that the staff had done. Red and white roses were everywhere, candles lighting the interior. There were candles and rose petals on every step leading up to the second floor bedroom. In the bedroom was a large tub with a hot bath drawn in case the newlywed would want that. There were bottles of Champaign and glasses in every room. Music played from an old French music box.

Inara smiled brightly as they entered the cottage, slipping off the cloak and looking around, "Its all so beautiful, and warm," she added with a grin, looking up at Gav. "It?s all too perfect. I keep fearing it is but a dream and I will wake at any moment, heaven forbid someone pinches me," she looks around once more.

Fires are blazing in the fireplaces of every room, heating up the cottage so that they would be warm enough even when undressed. "Before we go up to our room, I still have to give you my gift."

Gavilean

Date: 2006-01-01 13:22 EST
Inara grinned and looked back at Gav, "Gift? You needn?t have got me anything," she answered shaking her head.

"Well, it's just something small." He went to the table and picked up a box that was in blue velvet. He brought it in front of her and opened it up. Inside was beautiful silver necklace with diamonds and rubies set in a floral pattern where it set at the neck. "I thought it would look nice with some of the gowns you have."

She smiled brightly at the gift, "It?s beautiful," her fingers brushed the stones, "thank you my love, its more then I would have ever asked for."

"Well, it's just a little something. I have something a little larger for you also. Follow me." He took her through the cottage to the back door. He put his hands over her eyes. Outside were lanterns lighting up a path to a small barn and a corral outside the barn. A stable hand brought up a beautiful black and white Gypsy Drum Horse. When the horse was at the back door, he removed his hands from her eyes.

Inara blinked in shock at the big horse, gasping in delight, her eyes lighting, "Oh Gavilean." she breathed reaching out to lay her hands on the horse's nose, "He?s beautiful, no gorgeous," the smile grows a little more as she looks back at Gav, "is this your way of stopping me from putting a side saddle on your horse?" She joked, rubbing the beast?s nose affectionately.

He laughed, delighted in the look he saw in her eyes. "I'll have to admit, Nasrullah did kind of hint that perhaps another horse would be the preferred way to go." He couldn't stop smiling. "I hope you like him, darling. You'll have to name him."

She looks at the horse again, "Oh but not just any name will do, it will have to be something very special, for any gift from you is such," she smiles softly, "I will have to think on it a while," she looks back at Gav, "and let you know when I come up with one."

"I like that idea. He does deserve a special name." He nodded to the stable hand to take the horse back to the barn, and he brought Inara back into the cottage where it was warm. "I don't want you to catch a cold." He looked around. "I wonder how they decorated the second floor." He gave her a wink.

"Mmm, I think I would like to see that," she nodded and slipped her arm in his, to let him escort her up. Once they reached there room it was Inara's turn to surprise Gav, a long wrapped gift sat in the center of the bed amongst the flower petals, the box was about five feet long and one wide, and she smiled at Gav, "your not the only one buying gifts my love."

He was indeed surprised. "But you already bought me the most beautiful gloves," he said as he walked to bed. "Are these long-stem roses?" he asked jokingly.

"Whose beauty has never been seen in this world," she went along with the flower joke.

He picked up the box and felt the weight of it, knowing that no rose was in this box. He slowly opened the box, and when the contents was revealed, he could only stand there and stare. For the first time in his life Gavilean was actually speechless. His hand went out to feel the metal.

The sword and dagger were built to match hers as he had requested, but of finer detail and larger to fit his hand perfectly. "I fear they are not completely the same, but Earendur did his best to see the detail done well, the blade is mithril, like my own," she stated into his silence.

He picked up the sword as if he were picking up an infant. The detail was amazing...the weight and balance were perfection, and being mithril...such were the objects of great kings and not manor lords. He turned to Inara and just shook his head in wonder. He laid down the sword and took her into his arms. All he could say was, "I love you so."

She smiled softly at him, "I endeavor to please you my lord," she grinned and moved to kiss him deeply, her fingers lacing into his hair.

He hungrily released himself into the kiss, then when the kiss ended he looked into her eyes, "They are far too expensive, too grand. I don't deserve such a gift."

"You do, and so much more, besides, they cost me very little but the gratitude of someone who found love and escape with my words," she answered and smiled, "a grand price is a little piece of knowledge," she licked her lips, "I think we should take advantage of that tub while its hot."

Gavilean

Date: 2006-01-01 13:23 EST
He smiled and looked over toward the tub, biting his lip and looked back at her. She was so beautiful that she took his breath away. The fire was blazing in their fireplace, the room was lit with candles and the tub did look very inviting with its soap bubbles and rose petals. His hands moved over her arms. "This is such a beautiful wedding dress; I hate to take it off you. But...I will." He began to help her, then said, "What th'...!! Look at all these buttons!!"

Inara laughed as she looked up at him, "?tis a gown fit proper for a lady, my lord," she teased, mirth in her voice.

He decided to turn a problem into an advantage. His hands moved over her hips and then up to the top button. He let her lean back against him as he unbuttoned the top buttons and began to kiss the skin exposed each time a button was released. Inara grinned softly, licking her lips as he worked on the buttons, shivering from time to time when his lips brushed her back, tickling slightly or leaving wetness to cool in the warm air. She waited till he had the last one open before speaking softly, "At least you didn't try out your new dagger on them," she laughed.

"With the way you have my hands shaking, I'd be afraid to touch anything sharp and pointy." His hands were indeed shaking. They had made love many times, but this was different. She was now his wife and she was the most beautiful, exquisite woman he had ever seen. All the buttons released, he helped the gown to slip to the floor, and then hung it up when she had stepped out of it. As she stood in her undergarments, he began to work at his uniform buttons.

She moved forward to stay his hands, returning the favor as he had to her, she slowly undid each button, her lips taking exposed flesh time and again, lapping lightly at him, leaving a soft wet trail as she worked his uniform open. He watched her work on him, and as he watched, his breathing quickened and his heart pounded. The uniform jacket, sword, belt, boots, pants....all were discarded and set aside, until he stood there in only his under shorts. He then pushed down the straps of her undergarments and let them slide down. Inara slipped from her corset, and thong before slipping to the floor to free him from his underwear, her lips gracing small kisses on him, playful but loving. Inara smiled and slowly stood, her fingers trailing softly up his body, "I think we should get into that tub now," she purred.

Gavilean stood behind Inara, his hands on her bare shoulders, staring at her naked back that was a softly aglow in the light of the candles and fireplace. He moved his naked body close to hers and his hands moved down her arms. "You are now my companion...forever," he whispered in her ear. "And I am yours...forever." His hands moved down and slid over her thin waist.

Inara grinned softly and looked back at him, "And what a position to be in too," she purred, "I do love you so, I will forever be with you. Now, about that tub?" she added looking back at him and smiling brightly.

The tub was before them...candles surrounding it, bubbly hot water inside, rose petals all about - inside and out. "I'll hold your hand as you get inside the tub."

She chuckled as she offered him her delicate fingers, "Just do be careful, I fear swimming is not one of the things I do well," she moved to carefully climb into the beautifully hot water.

Once she was settled down into the tub, Gavilean moved behind her and slowly stepped into the tub, a leg on each side of her and her back against his chest. "Mmmmm...this feels so good."

Inara leaned back into his embrace, lifting his hand to her lips and pressing soft fluttery kisses over his palm and fingers, "It does," she agreed, "I could be here forever, if this moment would but freeze in time," she licked at the tip of his index finger before pulling it lightly into her mouth.

He moved his face forward, rubbing it against her hair as she put his finger into her mouth. Her mouth felt so good - hot, moist, soft. The feeling was quite erotic and his body was responding to those sensations. "I love you so much, Inara," he whispered. "I can believe we're actually married, and we're having a child!"

Her tongue brushed over the tip of his finger before she slowly released his hand, taking the other and starting the same treatment, "Yes we are," she breathed between kisses, "and nothing will ever come between us," she added before sucking his finger once more into her mouth.

"We'll never be separated again, my darling," he whispered just before his mouth came down on her bare shoulder and began to place nibbles and kisses all over it. The hand that was now free moved through the water and traveled up her smooth body.

Inara moaned softly in need, tilting her head to give him the room to get at her smooth skin as she let his hand roam over her body, her lips once more releasing his finger. "I love you," she breathed as she opened her legs so they were laying over his now.

His mouth moved inward from her shoulder to her neck, opening against the side of her neck and lifting up to her ear. "I love you, too. Completely. You make me so happy.

"I do try," she purred almost playfully licking her lips. The bath, the atmosphere...everything was perfectly romantic.

Gavilean

Inara groaned softly, her breaths already picking up, "Want you," she breathed softly, "need you my love," she added hotly, her eyes drifting open just slightly as she turned her head to catch his lips in a deep hungry kiss. He wanted her too, and needed her more than his next breath. Had the water been any higher or the tub any smaller, they would have surely sent water splashing over the sides. Their lovemaking was exquisite, leaving both husband and wife lying in the bath, satisfied and happy in each other?s embrace. "Wow, that was nice," she muttered softly, kissing over his face in gentle patterns.

His hands cupped her face and he returned kiss for kiss. "'Nice' is not the word. I was thinking more like...um...spectacular!"

Inara smiled, "Spectacular huh? How about earth moving," she grinned and slowly rocked her hips just slightly against his once more shivering at the feeling as she did.

Gavilean grinned, "Yes...earth moving would be appropriate. His smile faded and be become serious. "I'm so proud to have you for my wife."

Inara smiled softly, "As I am to be your wife," her lips curled a little more, "me an everyday companion, now your Lady," she kissed him softly.

"Now you are MY everyday companion, and every day I will be thankful for your training; and every day I want to learn from you, how to please you more."

She grinned at him, "I'll enjoy those lessons," she teased and moved to kiss him once more before sliding free of him and standing, the water dripping off her perfectly sculpted body.

He rose with her and reached over for a towel that was lying across a rack. He began to rub it across her body, watching her as he dried each part of her body. When he was finished with her chest and stomach, he laid the towel on the floor and stood on it. He then took the second towel and dried each of her legs as she would step from the tub.

Inara loved the attention as he helped her from the water and she let him dry her off before she slipped into one of the thick warm robes and moved to fish out a bottle of chilled Champaign, grabbing the glasses and pausing to pour them both half full, offering him one of the glasses.

He took the glass, impressed at how well she handled herself. He raised the glass, "To us, my love. To our first day as husband and wife in the years of happiness that lie ahead of us."

"To our happiness," she answered with a grin, and raised her glass to his, clinking them lightly together before reaching out to hook her arm around his and sip the cool liquid from her glass.

He sipped the Champaign and looked into her beautiful, dark eyes. Dressed only in his own heavy robe he walked her to the window and looked out on the moon lit snow. "It's so beautiful," he whispered. "What a wonderful day this has been."

Inara smiled softly "And it is not over yet," she answered and sipped her drink, leaning into his embrace. She licked her lips looking up at him, "after were done our drinks though," she grinned.

He took his drink and swallowed down the entire glass. "What drinks?" he asked with a mischievous grin. "And just what does my precious wife have in mind?" He waggled his eyebrows and took her into an embrace, looking down into her eyes, loving the little curl of her lips when she smiled.

She chuckled and took another sip of her drink, "You'll just have to wait and see," she moved to slid free of his touch, walking to the bed, wagging her hips the whole way and pausing to pick up the sword weighing it in her hand before carefully setting it and the dagger aside, the glass still delicately perched in her fingers.

He watched her move, totally in awe of the perfection of her body and the way she handled it. He has been with her for some time, but he is seeing things this night that he had never noticed before. His wife was a different woman, and he loved what he saw. He slowly followed her to the bed, his hair partially covering one eye as it fell to his shoulders. He set down his glass and waited to see what she'd do next.

Inara smiled as she finished off her own drink, setting the glass aside and moving to untie the robe, letting it slip to the floor, "You ready for more fun?" She purred.

He let his robe drop to the floor, standing there naked before her; his 25 year-old body muscular and smooth, broad-shouldered from his days as a Knight Captain, and toned from his training. His eyes moved over her body, from her luscious lips, to her perfect breasts, to the way her shapely legs met at her pubic area. Indeed, all her body was pasture to his eyes, her face honey to his mouth; and he wanted to taste her...all of her. He finally smiled, "I am ready, my love...my wife."

She grinned at his answer and moved to kiss him deeply, drawing him down towards the bed with her, as her lips moved down his face, neck and chest, intent on bring her new husband his every want and desire.
