It was not her favorite thing in the world. She needed to set up her own base of operations and get out of the Inn. It was not safe staying in so public a location for too long.

Then there was Ash. Acheron had been grousing over the phone at the way she took a major risk in bringing on Phoenix as she did. Problem was she really had no choice in the matter. She needed a squire bad and no one was available to relocate. She refused to admit to anyone that she wanted the companionship too. Of course she wasn't fooling Ash at all. She could almost here Tory in the background trying to reassure him.

She had chosen a house in the south-western section of this city. The house was spacious and situated near one of the towers in the southern wall. It was in a fairly private location and easily accessible. It was on the market and well within her means. Now she needed to find a solicitor that didn't mind working nights.

Some days, it just doesn't pay to be... Well... Dead.

With everything going on with the proposition, getting the house was proving harder than it should have been. Finding a solicitor that would even work with her was near impossible. They didn't want to accept that she had an allergy to the sun. Well, she did, just not the way that the medical community has it defined.

So she was trying to wrangle with the homeowner and still hunt. Truth be told she was tried of the hunt all of the sudden. Maybe it was seeing how these mortals were acting. The violence was revolting to the warrior. She had to protect them, but they were hell-bent on finding security... This wasn't security.

She wanted a home and companionship with such a sharp longing. She hadn't let anyone close in centuries and now it was wearing on her. 2500 years was a long time.

Though night was her usual purview, she was lucky enough in that she did not have the problems with daylight that Jissin did. Her preference for night was more of a schedule preference, as most of the work she had been involved in for the past twenty-odd years had been done at night rather than in the day.

Such was life in the shadows...

At Jissin's request, she had taken up looking for a place during the daylight hours when she slept. And at the moment, she was waiting in front of a house at the very southern edge of WestEnd, high noon. Dressed very businesslike - a green, knee-length dress, form-fitting enough to show she's a woman without being so tight that it left little to the imagination, as well as matching heels, her long red hair spilling over her shoulders to make her look a bit less severe.

Briefly, as she waits for the realtor, she wonders what Jissin might think of the dress. A slight smile touches her lips as she looks around to see if the man she had arranged to meet was making his approach.

Nothing yet, but he shouldn't be long - she had offered to make the payment for the house outright, and usually realtors couldn't resist such an offer.

And, like her brother, patience is something she has in abundance.

Her patience would soon be rewarded with the sound of expensive shoes on the pavement. The man was dressed in the best clothes money could buy. The thought, since he knew he was dealing with a female was to charm and impress. Most of the females of his association tended to be more interested in fashion or other bits and nonsense.

He came to a stop before the redhead and raked his eyes along her body from head to toe. "Ms. Stanton I presume?"

The twisting of her lips into a smile is forced, though, after a lifetime of having to convince potential employers that she is a pleasant, cordial professional, it certainly doesn't look it. What he would see would be a pleasant expression, polite and open, though not overly so.

Still, she kind of wishes Jissin had been here to see the raking his eyes had just given her. She wouldn't calculate the odds on how long his eyes would have stayed in his head.

Professional, Becca. Don't hurt him unless he decides he wants to try pushing it.

She nods to him, extending a hand to him as she appraises the man before her, an eyebrow ever-so-slightly raised while she makes her assessment.

Good fashion sense, obviously makes a good living doing what he does. But by hook or by crook? She'd just have to see for herself.

Undoubtedly thinks of himself as charming, if he thinks he can just let his eyes wander that way, as well.

Ah, men.

"That'd be me, indeed. And you are?" Just for effect, she gives him her own slow, smoldering smile, a curve of the lips meant to be inviting and smoldering.

Had Jissin been there, the man would probably be missing more than his eyes. Lucky for him she was resting within the darkened room. Though the dream she was having... Welp, she was figuring out another reason why Rebecca went by Phoenix. Sweet, Eros.

"Soma, Regis Soma." There was that nasal tone to his voice that his associates thought was all the rage. Outside his little clique he sounded whiny.

"I take it your client is interested in this piece of property?" You could almost hear the the wheels turning as he calculated how much he can ask for the place.

He didn't realize that her *client* could probably afford one of the manors in New Haven if she chose to.

She's trying very hard not to be annoyed just by the sound of his voice. She doesn't have the telepathic abilities she knows that some possess, of course, but she doesn't need them - she can see the greed on his face, can practically hear the wheels turning in his head as he tries to think of all the ways he can scam money out of the tall, leggy and attractive female in front of him.

Wait until he found out that he wasn't dealing with the usual pretty face.

For the moment, though, she goes right along with it. How things proceed from here will determine her reaction - though she suspects it will most likely be somewhere in the neighborhood of being as hard an blunt as a sledgehammer.

Something tells her this guy won't understand anything else.

For the time being, however...

"As a matter of fact, she is. She'd be here herself, but she has...other business at the moment. I'm sure you don't mind dealing with me, though, do you?"

And that smoky, slow smile comes out again, her blue eyes nearly lighting up with it. She knew it was a favorite of Jissin's, particularly in a more private venue. Hopefully, she doesn't mind her using it to other ends as well as her own, private enjoyment.

She gestures to the house with a hand. "Care to show me around the place?"

He chortled a bit. This girl was certainly a looker. "Mind? Not at all sweetheart." He drawled and gestured to the front door. The house looked fairly new. "Right this way.."

He took her on the grand tour of the place. "After the storm that hit, the previous owners were convinced this place was haunted. He shrugged and took her through the very spacious house, closer to a mansion than your typical place. Several Bedrooms, all well appointed was adjoining bathrooms. Servants quarters, a modern kitchen area....

"I had a shaman come through and banish the spirits just to set prospective buyers at ease, yanno?"
