Christmas.
It was a new holiday for the green haired half elf, but the more she heard about it, the more it sounded wonderful to her. A time of celebration, friends, family...
...and hanging shiny things everywhere.
Lydia grinned widely at the ball in her hands as she held it up in the light. It was gold, covered in glitter that made it shine just about every color as light reflected from it's surface. Her head tilted one way, then the other as she studied it.. at least a full five minutes. But no, she had to focus... so finally she set the ball back into the box she pulled it from to join with the other shiny, sparkly, multicolored balls within. Box was carefully pushed aside as she moved onto another box to rummage through. It didn't hold her interest nearly as long as the first had, since this box had less than shiny things to hang up. Some brown creature with a red nose... little white fluffy men with carrot noses... and... she blinked a bit as she pulled another figure from the box. A little stout man donned in red and white, with a curly white beard and curly white hair to match. She lifted her brows as she studied it, briefly though, before returning it into the box, making sure to hide it at the bottom.
Now, the task at hand...
Second box was pushed aside before she scampered to her feet and cast her gaze to the tree. That's right, a Christmas Tree! Tall, full, lush, enchanted evergreen of Rhydin, guaranteed not to die! Her task? Lights! Bundles of cords and multi colored bulbs were scooped off the floor as she approached the tree. It seemed easy enough... and some of this technology stuff wasn't so bad. Erin had explained about lights, electricity, plug-ins... and while the technical aspect of it all was lost upon her, her mind could at least comprehend the basics.
"I guess I.. should.. plug this in first."
Lydia stepped away from the tree and towards the plug-in closeby. Brows furrowed faintly as she pulled and tugged at the cords, trying to untangle them and find that plug.. aha! There it was! She smirked to herself as she kneeled down, sticking the thing in the socket.. or at least trying to.
"That's odd..."
It wasn't going in. Push, shove, wiggle... a series of blinks. Oh! Right, it was upside down. Plug was flipped over upon realiziation of this fact and easily slid into the outlet. Lights on that cord in her arms twinkled and illuminated brightly. Impressed with the pretty display, Lydia 'ooh'ed a bit as her gaze locked on the lights, not paying much mind to her surroundings as she shuffled back to the tree. Now she just needed to do more untangling...
Cords were unraveled, pulled, tugged, unrolled and... she furrowed her brows, gaze dropping down to her feet. Both of which were now wrapped together in a corded mess. How did that happen? She shuffled, twisted, hopped, squirmed, lifted cords over her head, twisted again and...
..somehow managed to wrap herself up in the lights, rather than the tree.
She grumbled a bit as she tried to move down the hall and towards the parlor. Erin was in there hanging things up, so she'd just get her help. Seemed simple enough.. of course, with all those cords tangled around her, she couldn't very well move so well.. a hop hop hop was initiated, which only sent her toppling over. Right into the tree.
Thus, the green haired elf managed to decorate the tree with lights and herself. Limbs and cords were wrapped about and tangled within the tree too.. there was no escape. Lydia squinted a bit and spit out a mouthful of evergreen so that she could shout down the hall.
"Erin!"
