A Well-Planned Invitation

The night was chilly but had cleared enough that the stars shone down along with the two moons in the dark of the night sky as Des moved out of the mansion toward the garden gazebo. The medium sized structure was lit from within by lanterns and had been warmed by several braziers lit earlier by the staff. Their usual selection of sliced fruits and cubed cheeses along with a carafe of brandy and two snifters had been placed on a table a short time ago. A daybed had been brought in to replace the benched and chairs that normally resided in the pretty spot Des often used to entertain visiting dignitaries wives for tea. Tera stepped through the door and quickly closed it behind her to avoid loosing any of the heat. A smile bloomed as she took note that everything she had requested was exactly as she had asked but then their staff was excellent and she hadn't been worried in the least. She moved over and took a seat on one of the remaining chairs after taking off her coat to wait for her beloved husband to meet her.

Gavilean was not far behind. He didn't like to keep his beloved wife waiting for him if he could help it. He stepped out the back of the mansion and saw the soft glow of the lanterns inside the gazebo. The air was fresh and cool and seemed to only awaken his Elven nature that was never far below the surface. He opened the door of the gazebo and saw Des sitting there, then closed the door quickly behind him. He had to smile, admiring how lovely she looked. He would swear that if he could, he'd marry her all over again. Everything about her delighted him. He finally saw all that she had prepared to be inside the gazebo and he had to smile all the more. She always thought of everything. No man was as lucky as he was, and he knew it. "Good eve, my love. I was told there was an angel waiting for me out her beneath the moons, but I never thought I'd see the most beautiful off all the angels." He smiled, approached her and leaned down to give her a kiss.

Des? smile grew radiant as the door opened within moments of her own arrival in the lovely little nest she had prepared for just the two of them this night and she glanced up from the brazier she had been looking at in quiet contemplation to savor the sight that never failed to take her breath away, Gavilean coming into the room. "Babe!", she tipped her head back and slid an arm around his neck while sinking into the kiss. Her senses were fully engaged as her lips parted slightly and the tip of her tongue darted out to meet his in a teasing exploration that lingered just long enough to let him know she had missed him and desired him completely before she slowly pulled back to smile to him. "Mmmmm. Am I ever glad this here day is over love mine. Come snuggle and we can talk about this here party tomorrow?"

"Sure, baby, but I'm sorry you had a hard day." He picked up the carafe of brandy and poured two snifters, then sat and handed Des one. He took another in his right hand and put his left arm around her shoulders. "Can you believe it? Our little girl is already a year old and just starting to walk and talk. Time sure does fly by."
