The silver letter opener sliced through four pages in the back of the Journal. ?Ooppss! I?m so sorry you poor, dear thing. It seems I accidentally cut a few too many pages out of you for this one letter I need to write.? Smirking at the inanimate object she violently slammed it down on the desk and viciously crumpled up the extra three pages, one at a time, before tossing them in the trash can next to the desk. "Less pages to have to remember to write in you low down, no good, mangey coyote!"

Dear Empress (Jewell),

Oh my goodness! I just got a letter from Tara and she has invited me to come and visit the Clubhouse sometime. I noticed that you guys all wear dresses a lot when I see you in the Inn. I was wondering if there is some sort of a dress code at your Clubhouse. I only have the one evening gown that I got for the wedding right now and my work outfit. Would either of those fit in there?

The only other thing I have is my jeans, but I have a couple of good pairs of jeans that I haven?t worn to work on the ranch yet that I could wear. They don?t have any rips, tears, or worn places on them. Or do I need to go and get myself a nice dress like y?all wear?

Don?t get me wrong I wouldn?t mind having to wear a dress if that is what the dress code is there because I would like to come and visit sometime. I have heard a lot about it and it sounds like it would be fun to come for an afternoon when I get back from our trip. Maybe a skirt and top would work? Oh, I just don?t know! I surely could use a little advice if ya don?t mind.

Take care,
Des

?Babe, I?m going to run downstairs and send off this letter right quick,? she called into the other room to her handsome TDMF before exiting the sitting room of their suite at the posting Inn.

She skipped down the stairs and headed for the front desk. The portly owner of the fine establishment was there beaming. Des came to a halt before him and set the letter on the marble counter with a flourish and bright smile to him. ?I need this letter sent back to Rhydin with the next mail coach please.?

The light shining off the bald pate of his head the man nodded to the cowgirl as she slid a silver crown across the gleaming surface to him in payment. ?I will ensure that ye correspondence arrives unmolested My Lady.?

She crinkled her nose to him with a grin. ?Please don?t call me that. I am no lady. Just call me ?Des? everyone does, Mister.? A wink and she was gone, headed back up the stairs to where her Beloved was putting the finishing touches on his packing.

Getting a letter was very exciting business, especially when she was half mad with her own thoughts. Yes, it was a very promising distraction. She poured over the words and the kids could hear her laughing lightly if they passed by the door to her study at the right time.

The idea that there would be a dress code at the Clubhouse was hilarious to her. Naturally, this was from knowing what sort of place the Clubhouse was (akin to a blasting zone) and the mayhem that usually went on there.

She was tempted to reply in the absurd for Des, something along the lines of, "No, Des, dresses are not required at the clubhouse. Rather, we all go around in the suits of our favorite animals. Yep! That's right. I usually prefer a turtle suit, Amthy goes for a butterfly (we let her get away with it even though flutterbies aren't really animals), Viki for whatever she feels like (she can be flighty), and Tara for..an aardvark. We've tried to tell her that she looks better in the koala bear suit but she just won't listen. I have a unicorn suit if you need to borrow one for the occasion."
Instead, she opted to reassure her friend instead of scaring her away from ever visiting the Clubhouse.

Des,

I'm very excited to hear of your impending visit to the Clubhouse! Actually, I'm shocked and dismayed that none of us have extended such an invitation to you before. Know that you are welcome to our...humble abode any time.

Fortunately, there is no dress code at the Clubhouse. We do tend to wear dresses because we are horribly vain creatures. However, when it comes to the clubhouse your ball gown is definitely not to be worn! The place is rather a mess and we only get dressed up for special occasions- like tea parties!

Perhaps we will have a tea party during your visit. If not, there is plenty of other activities to do. We could play in the dolphin pool (though its kind of dirty now and lacking a dolphin), play Warrior Princesses, explore the ravine, re-open the Shroom Shack. That kind of stuff.

I hope this was helpful! Thank you very much for your letter.

The letter was sent on its merry way back from where the original had come!

It had taken a couple of days but Jewell?s reply had finally caught up with Des. A little cry of glee was set free and she ripped it open where she stood. Anxious to find out what she needed to know navy eyes quickly scanned the writing.

She would have to reassure the Empress that she wasn?t offended in the least to have not been invited before. All of them were busy with their own lives and she figured each of them had probably thought one of the others had extended the invitation and she hadn?t yet taken them up on it.

Okay at least she wouldn?t have to get out the ball gown and the clubhouse wasn?t a fancy kind of place but the whole dress thing maybe she should consider having her love buy her a few to see how it worked out.

The one dress she had had caused quite a lot of trouble for her but it had been worth every second of misery when her pirate love peeled it off of her and then . . . Yup, she thought she just might have to see about wearing a dress now and then.

A tea party! Whoa, the cowgirl had never been to one of those in her entire life. Making mud pies out in the back yard, now she could do that, but tea parties this would require a little investigation into the goings on at one of those things. She would truly hate to make a fool of herself at a fancy social function and that sounded like it might be one.

Swimming in the dolphin pool sounded like a whole lot of fun but did they go skinny dipping like she always did back home with her friends or would a suit be required. She would have to ask Jean about that one.

Warrior Princess now that she could definitely do! She had visions of dressing up in armor and stepping in the ring to have sword fights with blood, gore, and guts everywhere. They could go out and pretend to kill everything they came across! It would be great fun and she was REALLY looking forward to a game of Warrior Princess with the girls!!

Exploring the ravine would be fun too. She loved seeing new things and going places she hadn?t been before but she had to wonder whatever could a ?Shroom shack be.

Her most important question answered and many delightfully intriguing ones raised that were sure to have her visiting the sooner she took off at a run to share the letter with her TDMF male.
