Des was smiling as she swung their clasped hands between them in rhythm to their matching steps along the cobblestone street. She snuck little admiring glances to her beloved husband's handsome face as they passed beneath the street lamps and light would spill over them bathing them in a soft glow. They had just left the Arena and she was still keyed up from all the duels she had watched so here they were headed out to the shops that stayed open in the Marketplace until all hours as Gav had promised her a shopping trip a couple of days ago but they hadn't yet had time to go. "It is such a beautiful night for a walk love mine. Ya know I am kinda glad that we waiting to go shopping until now. I would really like to get some coffee first and then go to that Arcane Lore place if ya don't mind. What do ya think Babe?"
He loved these special times alone with Des while Gwenilbeth was being watched by Trinalee. His times with both his girls were precious to him, but times like this with Des were extra special. It's been just over a year since they met, and his thoughts went back to those days. "I think that's a wonderful idea, my love." He put both arms around her shoulders as they walked, which made walking a little tipsy and fun. "I think I want some of that new cafe mocha stuff, with the whipped cream on top. It's like a dessert! Then we can go to that Arcane Lore store if you still feel like doing that. I've never been in there."
She laughed as she tried to keep her balance and walk at the same time. Gavilean was truly the love of her life and she couldn't image being with anyone else or having this much fun with anyone else like they did when they were together. It wasn't the big things that they did together like the balls and bar tending and the time they spent with friends. It was these times when it was just the two of them going out shopping or for coffee or for dinner like they still made certain to do with each other, for each other, that made what they had so very special to her.
She placed her hands on his arms up by her neck and tipped her head back to grin to him while chuckling warmly. Her delight was plain in the twinkling navy blue of her eyes as she exclaimed, "New coffee that is like a dessert!" She licked her lips in anticpation of the treat. "I want some of that and I want it right now Babe. Where are they sellin' it? Point us in the right direction and yup must definitely go to the Arcane Lore shop because I am gonna be able to do magic just like you!" This last was accompanied by a bright, completely confident smile even though she hadn't a mage talented bone in her body.
He raised a brow to the magic comment, but let it pass. Many people tried magic but very few had the talent or commitment to follow through. It wasn't that he doubted his wife's resolve, he just knew that when Des made up her mind to do something, you either support her or step out of her way. He always chose to support her, and often she surprised him with what she could do. "It's right up ahead my love. As we get close, you'll be able to just follow your nose." And sure enough, someone came out of the brightly lit up coffee shop and the scent of fresh coffee wafted into the street and right into their Westridge noses. "Ummm...you sure did have a great idea, baby." He went to the door and held it open for her.
His chosen Queen smiled radiantly to her King and gave a little half curtesy as he held the door for her then as though she were gowned in her robes of state swept into the coffee shop headed straight for the counter where the alluring aroma was coming from. "Thank you for holding the door M'lord." She said in her best common then darted a grin to Gav. "Do ya think a horse shoe would stand up in their coffee Babe?"
He laughed, "I sure hope not, babe. They better make coffee better than I do or they'll soon be out of business." The person behind the counter asked for their order. Gav responded, "Two cafe moche, grande, please. With whipped cream." He looked to Des, "You did want that, right babe?" He slipped his arm around her shoulders and squeezed her close beneath his arm.
