An imposing figure walks along the street, the quintessential businessman, perfectly dressed, a walking cane in his hand, avoiding direct sunlight where he can, and looking up at the sign of The Oracle headquarters. As he looked up at the sign, Talomar didn't see who was coming out of the door.
Des had just received a letter that one of the servant type people at her and her beloved husband's new mansion had forwarded to her at The Oracle office building since they knew she wouldn't be coming home until very late that night. As she read it her eyes got wide and then became like saucers. A gasp escaped when she got to the end and she looked around quickly as though someone might be reading over her shoulder while tearing it up and throwing the tiny pieces in the trash.
The cowgirl Queen jumped to her feet without hesitation and headed for the front door at a run. She was on a mission of mercy that couldn't wait as the letter was about a dear friend of hers that needed to be given a message and quickly if what the letter said held any value at all.
Slamming through the front door of the building she ran right into what could have been a brickwall with a loud "oommpphhh." The breath rushing out of her lungs as she looked to see what she had hit.
The Count looked down at the lady who had just exited the building he had fully intended to enter. He recognized her immediately. "Tera Starfare! Well, its good to see the Oracle's reporters so in a hurry to get to the scene of late breaking news."
A little dazed by the force of impact she shook her head and stepped back from him so she could look up to his face while making a grab for one of his arms without heed to any proper manners that she had been taught. "Oh no I ain't heading out for any story Darlin'. I was looking for your wife at the moment but you will do I'm thinkin'. We gotta talk. In private if ya don't mind Darlin'."
Des was already scanning their surroundings for somewhere they could go where they wouldn't be overheard and where she herself hadn't planted any of her very own tiny recording devices because this was something that was not for public consumption.
He raised a brow, rather surprised that she would have something for him that had to be said in private. He looked up at the roof of the building across from Oracle. It had a water tower on top of it and would provide the privacy and some shade. Talomar smiled at Des. "I think I can accommodate us rather nicely."
Before she knew what he intended, he wrapped an arm around her and lept upwards. The Vampire Lord carried her firmly at his side until they settled on the roof in the shade of the old wooden water tower. "How is this? Private enough?"
Des squeaked and slammed her eyes shut as she clung to his waist with both arms wrapped tightly around it. "Eeep! You are gonna kill me! I just know it Talomar Longden! Don't ya dare drop me! I'm gonna tell my husband on ya and you are gonna so be in such bad trouble that ya ain't never gonna get out of it! But I do have news for ya that is important."
She ran out of breath finally in her tirade and calmed some as her feet touched back down but didn't let go as she hated heights with a passion.
He smiled down at her. "There. Safe and sound, Des. No need to get your husband after me; I haven't dropped anyone yet." He thought for a moment, "That is, unless it was on purpose. Now, what do you have to tell me?"
Her eyes stayed closed and she shivered slightly there on the rooftop but was determined to deliver the message since it was a life and death kind of thing. "Well I got this here letter from a mutual friend and they wanted me to tell your wife this here message but I can't tell ya who the friend is. That was also in the message but I think that ya really better take this to heart Darlin'."
Listens, his expression stern and impatient. "What is it, Des?"
