The imposing stone walls surrounding the mansion as they approached held a feeling of security that gave way to the black iron scrollwork gate. Slanting hopeful smiling glances to her husband Des slid the key into the lock then swung the gate open and stepped through into the formal gardens where a fountain stood happily gurgling in the bright sunshine.
Hand in hand they approached the side entrance and she put another key in the door and opened it then lead him inside a hallway that lead to the left and right. Off to the right was the large kitchen and to the left were the main rooms so that was the direction she gave a tug and headed. "Over there is the kitchen Babe and that is about it except there is a cellar with a wine place and pantry and stuff like over there. I wanna go this a way though."
Gavilean?s cobalt blue eyes took in everything as they approached the mansion. The wall was in excellent shape and wouldn't need much in the way of re-pointing the mortar and making the wall look good. He liked the iron gate and the grounds appeared to be beautiful. He'd like to spend more time there later after inspecting the mansion's interior.
He followed Des through the side entrance and could detect the musty scent of a house that had been unused for a while. He took notice of where there kitchen and wine pantry was and gave Des' hand a squeeze. "Sweetheart, so far I'm thinking we could really make a nice home here. You lead the way. I'm just doing some quick inspection as we walk along.?
His words earned him a leisurely kiss right there in the hallway as she had already had her heart set on making this lovely mansion, yet not outrageously huge palace, into a home for them when they were in RhyDin. Stepping out once more she flung open the door at the end of the short hallway to reveal a music room that held a few odds and end pieces of left over furniture from the previous owner's as did the rest of the house.
She was planning on throwing everything away that had been left behind but until the place was actually theirs it remained swathed in dust covers. "I was thinking we could maybe use this room for some kind of get together place because see here Babe it goes out onto a little patio thing... " She walked over and tired to open the floor to ceiling french doors that sadly didn't budge although she was shoving with all her might on them.
He put his knuckles to his hips, looked at the music room, put out his lower lip as he nodded his head and said, "Not bad. We could really decorate this nicely. It has a nice cozy atmosphere, yet roomy. Yes, it would make a nice place to have company with the patio right outside. Our children can practice their music lessons in other places, I suppose." He gave Des that mischievous glance with a twinkle in his eye.
She crinkled her nose to him as needing it for a music room for their children hadn't occured to her and that thought gave her pause. She quit banging on the stuck doors with her hip and crossed back over to him in a slow prowl with a sassy little grin on lush lips and sparkle in navy blue that sought out cobalt blue. "That is my Babe all right always planning for the future. I do love it when my man is on top of things." She ran the fingertips of one hand down the center of his chest then spun on a heel and sauntered toward the doorway.
He put his tongue in his cheek to keep from laughing. "I just want to keep on top of you, baby." He winked and followed her sexy saunter through the doorway to the next room.
Des lead him into the drawing room through pocket doors. Her boots ringing on the hard wood floors with each step she took ahead of him. The room would easily hold between twenty-five to thirty depending on the size of the furniture they put within it. The walls were papered here in an ivory color with faint golden patterns that she couldn't quite make out what they were and wasn't really sure she wanted to to be honest. "I really like this here room Babe. It is nice and airy and I'm thinking if we left these here doors open we would have plenty of room even for one of them there state affairs that we would need to have sometimes."
He was so in love and so impressed with his wife. She was already thinking of the accommodation of the obligations they would have. He went and took her into his arms and began to sway. He words were a whisper, "Yes, and we could even dance here, alone at night." He lips moved to just beneath her ear. "Would you like that?"
A soft smile curved into place as she melted into his embrace and her arms eased around his waist to hold him close. Des loved him to the very ends of her being and beyond. Gavilean was her entire world and in his arms was right where she would spend the rest of her life if she had any say in the matter. Her voice was a quiet whisper as she replied, "I do love the way you think Babe. Dancing in the dark with you would have to be one of my very favorite ways to pass my time."
