The talk with Ryan was still on her mind. His words had stuck with her. He was right. Her brother deserved to know. It was his right. She debated on the best way to do this. How to go about this. Finally, she decided meeting up for a drink would be best.

That brings us to today. Those crimson waves pulled back in a high ponytail. Worry and anxiousness shining in those forest hues of hers. Chewing on her bottom lip. Wearing the usual spaghetti strap lowcut midrift black band tank top. This one featuring Led Zeppelin. A pair of dark denim shorts and black flip flops.

She was already sitting at in the booth. A cup of water with ice that was full and hadn't been touched. She was cradling a bottle of Lone Star close to her. Raising the bottle she finished it and pushed it aside. Without a word the waitress delivered another bottle and took away the empty one. She eyed the bottle for a moment before turning her attention to her half-burned cigarette in the ash tray. Ashing the cigarette she lifts it up for another drag. Her phone buzzed and when she checked the text message her gaze wandered to the door as she waited for her brother to walk in.

His sister's calls and texts had him worried. She had said it was urgent. She sounded troubled and not like her usual cheery self in the messages she had left. He sent a final text stating he agreed to meet her up for a drink. He honestly thought it may have something to do with the wedding. Or maybe it had to do with Visk? Or even Ryan? He didn't know.

Waltzing inside wearing a simple black wifebeater, another pair of black skinny jeans stolen from his sister, and black on black Converse. He had hastily brushed his black locks so it wasn't in its usual emo hairstyle. Forest hues that were a mirror of his sister's looked around. Spotting her in the booth he walked over that way.

Sliding into the booth he didn't get a chance to greet her before the waitress showed up. Rolling his eyes as he quickly made his order, "Apple juice."

After the annoying waitress had left he grabbed his sister's cigarette and put it out, "Those are bad for your health and will stain your teeth which we can't have since you're getting married."

He eyed the beer bottle she was cradling and took note of the full glass of water. Studying the expression on his sister's face for a moment before finally saying, "Alright spill it. What's so important that you called me down here for?"

He asked raising a brow as he leaned back getting comfortable. The annoying waitress was back with the apple juice. He nodded his thanks and waited until she left before looking back to his sister waiting for her to speak.

As she watched her brother approach words suddenly failed her. She didn't even protest to when he put out her cigarette. She didn't even answer the waitress when asked if she wanted another bottle. Instead she struggled to put her thoughts into words. Taking another sip of the bottle. Her brother's question had her sigh. It had to begin some way or another, "I am only going to say this once. Don't interrupt me and you can speak when I'm done. If you interrupt me I won't be able to finish telling you, got it?"

She asked quirking a brow to him. When she saw his nod of acknowledgement she leaned forward. Still debating on how to go about this as she drained the bottle. Setting it aside she pulled the water to her and started in on that, "Do you remember when daddy died? How I disappeared soon after? How they thought I had something to do with it? Remember how mommy went insane and killed herself?"

She didn't look at him while she spoke. This was her burden to bear. But he deserved to know. It was his right. He was her brother. Licking her lips and taking a sip of her water she continued on, "David...I know you loved our parents. I know they loved you. But there's something you don't know. You see...Daddy loved me more than he should have. He...Did things to me David. Mom found out but never did anything. And they were right. I was the one who did it. I killed our father and carved out his heart. I baked it into a cherry pie for mother. Mother ate the pie then went insane and killed herself. It is all my fault. I am so sorry I never told you. I don't want you to remember them for the monsters they were. I wanted you to remember them as being the loving parents they were to you. Do you understand, David? The reason I'm telling you is because I am not always going to be around to protect you. We both need to grow up and you deserve to know the truth of what happened. If you hate me I can understand..."

By the time she was finished she had drained all of her water. She had spoken in such a monotone and far away voice as if it had happened to someone else. She felt such regret, sorrow, and shame she couldn't meet his eyes. Instead she would pull out another cigarette and light it. Finally she looked up at him and waited for his reaction.

He had started with drinking his apple juice happily. He only nodded to his sister's words. The look on her face scared him. She was so serious he knew there was not room to argue, ask questions, or protest. By the time she had finished he had completely forgot about the apple juice. Her tale had squashed any parched thoughts he had.

He just sat there. Flabbergasted, dumbstruck, in shock, and speechless. It was not until she looked at him that he finally breathed and moved. Sliding out of his booth he slid in beside his sister. Grabbing her he held her close. Kissing the top of her head as he petted her hair in comfort. His shoulders shaking as crystalline tears fell from forest hues. Hugging her tightly he wept.

It was when he had exhausted himself with tears and sorrow he spoke, "Why? Why didn't you tell me? Did you do it to protect me? If you had told me what he was doing I would've protected you. Damnit Darcy I know we're both stubborn and we struggle to be stronger than each other but that wasn't one of those times. I would have made sure he never touched you. Why? Why did you choose to bear this burden?"

Sobbing as he kissed her forehead, "I don't hate you. I could never hate you. You're my sister no matter what. I'm sorry this happened to you. I'm sorry that I turned a blind eye to it. I'm sorry that I couldn't do anything to erase the pain. I'm so sorry. I...I will always love our parents but my view on them has tarnished. I'm so so so sorry."

Sniffling as he cuddled her close murmuring comforting words to her. He knew it was in the past and he couldn't wash away the hurt but he would offer her comfort.

She didn't protest when he grabbed her. Nor if he held her too tightly she didn't make any movement to get away. She would let him sob out whatever it was he was feeling. She sighed heavily to his questions and it took her a moment before she could find her voice to speak, "As I said I didn't want you to remember our parents as monsters. So I kept it from you all bottled up to protect you."

Forest hues glancing up at him then, "Because you're my little brother. As the older sibling it's my duty to protect you, right? Because I love you. You were the best thing they could have ever given to me. You're the best brother a girl could ask for. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner it was bad enough I was getting in trouble I didn't want you to be in trouble either. I didn't want you to be scarred and tainted."

She smiled a bit sadly to his words that he didn't hate her, "Good, I'm glad. I could never hate you either. You may do stupid things and piss me off but I could never hate you."

Hugging him close as they would comfort each other.

He'd exhausted himself with holding his sister and crying out all of the sorrow. Since she made a confession he might as well come clean. After a few long silent moments he moved so she was facing him. Staring into the face a mirror of his own. When he smiled so did she. He stroked her cheek and gave her forehead a kiss, "I have something to say as well."

Moving to get more comfortable he ordered new drinks for the both of them. Orange juice for her and apple juice for him. Booze and cigarettes weren't going to help now and besides he hated the way it smelled. Once their drinks were delivered he took a sip of his before regarding his sister, "I'm pretty sure...No, I am sure that I'm in love with your best friend May and I want your blessing to see her if she'll let me."

It wasn't until he had parted ways with Ryan that he realized what he had felt for May this entire time. That he'd been in love with her the first moment he laid eyes on her. And now? Now since he was on the market and heard she was as well he wanted to see where things went. Provided if May felt the same way. Also, provided if Darcy wouldn't kill him and would let him date her best friend. This was new uncharted waters they were going into.

It came to her as a shock. But honestly it shouldn't have. She should have seen this coming. But for some reason she was blindsided. This certainly wasn't the first time a sibling had wanted to pursue May and vice versa was it? She honestly couldn't remember. But for some reason this was different. David was different. Now she really needed a drink but had to make due with her orange juice and pretend.

The juice drained as she looked at her brother intensely. Maybe she was over thinking this. Maybe May didn't feel the same way about David and would shoot him down. But if she did...Well that was a risk Darcy was just going to have to take. Sighing as she rolled the possibilities over in her mind. Thinking on it for a few silent moments that seemed to stretch on for eternity, "I can't deny the fact any longer that you're no longer a kid. As much as it pains me you're a grown man. That being said I can't control you no more than you can control me. So yes you have my...Consent and blessing to try to pursue and try to woo May should she want to be pursued and wooed by you."

Finished she would smile and lean forward as if to embrace her brother. Once he was off-guard both of her fits would connect to his torso in a couple of swift movements. She had to be careful to not break his ribs but they would leave nice bruises. When he had doubled over her lips pressed against his ear as she hissed, "But screw this up and break her heart and you will live to regret it. You may have been my brother for a short time but she has been with me long before you were a wink in daddy's eye."

She would make good on her word to no doubt about that. Did she mean to put the pressure on her sweet little brother? Oh yeah.
