She woke up long before she had to. There wasn't any light coming through her window. Starring above she mulled over the night before. Today was a new start, or a possible new start. Why then had she had that dream? Many times she swore she could see the future with her odd dreams. Running her hand through her hair she shook her head. Reaching over she pulled that card off the night stand.

Her new possible employer. Drake Jones. He had asked that she call him Drake rather than Mr. Jones. He said it made him feel old to be called Mr. Jones.

But how hard would that be for her now? After that dream. When she'd gone seeking him out she had no clue what to expect, but he shocked her. He was young, and handsome. Tall, taller than a lot of men she knew. She was used to being the tallest in the room but even in her boots he had towered over her. He wasn't human, she had known that before she saw his face, she called it a gift to be able to tell who was what around Rhydin. Many of the people she worked for weren't human. Rhydin was full of creatures, and she was used to it.

She paused now in front of the wall length mirror. Without even a thought those long graceful wings spread from her back. But they were black, with soft undertones of blue. Not white and pure. Once upon time they had been white. But that life seemed long gone now. She'd been cast out for disobeying. For breaking the rules.

Angels were known for their rules, for their many rules that could not be broken. Cadaria had broken three. And was cast out. She was never to be welcomed back no matter how she might try. It didn't matter any more, Rhydin was her home now. It was the first place shed been cast to, she hadn't always remained here. But now she had settled in to her life here, as healer, tutor and jack of many trades.

Shed done a lot over the last century. She'd gained a good name for herself at least among those in Rhydin who knew her work.

Her wings faded hidden once more. Even though dawn was still two hours away she got dressed and went through the motions of her morning work out. The little apartment served her well, it had cheepish rent and her fellow renters were all right people, she lived on the top level, where only one other person lived. Down the hall a young man. Vance. He wasn't human and gave Cadaria a wide birth, she wondered if he feared her because he was in fact a vampire. But other vampires didn't seem bothered by her. She went through her routine till she saw the sun was going to rise.

She showered and changed in to her day clothes. Something fitting for her possible first day, nice enough to impress but not so nice that it would matter if she got dirty. Dark colors filled her wardrobe only a few of her shirts were of light tones, Grey, white, lavender, a few green, some darker than others. Today she settled for a gray shirt something a little more feminine. Black pants and her black boots, not her knee high ones though just the ankle ones that still gave her height but looked more professional under her pants. She wanted to look like shed done this before.

She walked around the room, packing up her bag, a set of denim pants, another shirt which was paint splattered. Just in case her new possible employer needed her to do something really messy. But it didn't seem likely that shed be mucking up horse stalls. Shed seen that Mansion of his there not far from the apartment she called home. It sat on the East side, six or seven blocks down. She'd walked past it many times, thinking it likely a home of a wealthy family.

Now she knew who lived there. She went about making her lunch trying not to think about that dream. Not that it hadn't been nice and all, but she was gonna have to work for this guy, why did her mind have to place him opposite of her romantically?

And it had felt too real. She stuck her lunch bag inside her messager bag, near that change of clothes, and her books. She slowly took out the books, her apartment was full of them. Books for different subjects for different clients. And there were colored note books stacked neatly along a bookshelf. The last book she took from her bag wasnt a normal book, it was magcial and it was hers. Her notes, her throughts, her journal. It appeared thin, but if she opened it it would appear much thicker. A full account of her life thus far. It had been a long one already.

She opened it now and the pages flew past, magic pulsed through them. Then they stopped on the open blank page. She knew she should write something.

With a few hours still before she had to leave to be early to her new job she sat at the small table and took out a pen.

Slowly she wrote the date out, the hour, and the subject.

Starting Over..

A new job. Possiblities.

I will be going to the east side of town early this day to Drakes Jones's home. His mansion, his manor. To see if I can land a job.Yes another job. I love tutoring nad helping my students. But thats not enough any more to pay rent and Mr. Gilbert is getting antsy. I have done some odd jobs for some of my "families." Cooking and cleaning, housekeeping work doesnt pay much more than my tutoring. So I am hoping I get this job. I am worried though I had this dream about him. My possible new empolyer. Drake.

Yes hes young and cute... okay so more than cute. But I swore to myself long ago never to get connected to anyone. I have known a lot of guys. I have tried to date, but things always end. I am not what you would call a normal woman. Not that anyone in Rhydin is normal... but.

I admit hes very attrative, and if I wasnt being totatlly professional I might flirt with him. But this is my life, my new possiblity and I will not ruin it. I can't do it... its just to painful .

She didnt know what else to say so she closed the book and it went back to looking thin. She then hid it away as she always did when she didn't have it on her. And not a moment too soon a knock on her door seemed to echo through the room. It was dawn now,it could only be one person.

She tossled her hair. And wlaked to the door.

When she opened it an elderly man stood there. He was short and balding, and human, as human as anyone could be in Rhydin. He must have been in his late 60's. "Mr. Gilbert, Good Morning . What can I do for you?"

As if she didnt know already.

"Rent. Miss Naedda ." He held out his caloused hand. She nodded and reached in to her back pocket and pulled out the bills and coins. She handed them over. "Thats a years worth." She been saving up, which meant she didnt buy as much food, went with out a few things. So she could pay him off. Shed been late, and now she woudlnt have to pay till January. He took the money and grumbled somethng then walked off. He stopped downt he hall and knocked on Vances' door.

The young man known as Vance Malloy came to the door. Cadaria watched. He was a nice looking guy, for a vampire. She was always shocked that she found him attractive.

" Mr. Gilbert..." He greeted the landlord. His voice was smooth and sounded like velvet over glass .His eyes looked down at Cadaria then back to the elderly man.

"Mr. Malloy, Rent.." The rent was handed over and Mr. Gilbert muttered his thanks and went on his way and disappeared down the hallway.

Cadaria notcied that Vance was looking at her. They'd never been friendly,he seemed to keep to himself and she did the same. Something must have changed in the last day because now he nodded to her then went inside his apartment.

Cadaria blinked and shook off that odd feeling, then went inside herself. She ate some breakfast, nothing fancy shed been saving up so much there was barely any food in her little fridge or in the cabnets. After breakfast she grabbed her messager bag and a hair tie and headed out. She locked the door and headed down the hall way. Thend own the stairs. The other tenets were waking up now, getting ready for their day, some were just getting home from long nights.

The sun was up now as she crossed in to the street.

Seven blocks later and fifteen mintues early she stood in front of the door to his manor. Her new job lay beyond it. Hed said to be early, it was almost 7 am. This was early. She lifted her hand to knock on the door.

Drake was yet again crashed on one of the couches in the large manor, after another long night of looking for Icer and the one that had captured her. It helped that he had gotten others to look, as well as morehelp for those at her lair to help protect the hatchlings.

The sudden knock to the front door, jarred him awake as he looked around a moment. With him slowly sitting up while massageing his temples, then onto trying to rub the sleep from his eyes. Slowly standing up as he muttered to himself. " Who the hell could be here at this hour?" Not realizing that it was morning already.

That changed as he passed a window and the moring rains attacked his eyes. Getting a faint curse to leave his lips as he made his way through the manor to the front door. Slowly he openned it enough to see who was knocking on the door.

"You are rather early." Openning the door so she could enter, with him stepping to the side. He probably looked like hell at the moment, then again lack of sleep will do that to a person. Once she had stepped inside, he shut the door and motioned her to follow.

Over the next hour, Drake would show Cadaria around the manor to let her get a feel for the lay out. He was still in the beginning stages of getting it ready for others to come here. It would of already been done, but another matter had gotten his full attention.

Cadaria

She looked to him when he opened the door. "You said early , this is early. " He looked like hell, like hed gotten no sleep. But she didnt say anything. She stepped inside and watched the door close behind her.

The manor was huge, massive. She'd seen some big houses in her day but this place was nice. Its eemed to sit him too. He gave the tour like a man torn from bed. He mentioned things of note, but seemed to have his mind on other matters. Some of the rooms loked eady for guests others did not. Cadaria nodded along as he showed her about. She got the full tour and wouldnt loose her way easily.

When the tour was done she nodded to him. "You have a very nice home. But if I may be so bold to say you look like hell."She hoped she didn't piss him off she usually wasnt to forward with her empoylers.

"You look like you could use a good nights rest. And maybe a good meal too. I could come back tomorrow if it would be better so you can get some rest" What are you saying.. her mind screamed you need this job. "Or " she ammened. "If you would like I could clean and set up the other rooms.Or anythign else you might need done.. " She didnt want to loose her chnace at this job but he did look like he needed some sleep.

He blinked a moment at her comment about him looking like hell, before chuckling softly. While running a hand through his hair, then down to cover his mouth to hide a yawn. Once it passed, he lowered his hand. "Haven't been getting much sleep since a friend went missing." He admited honestly.

He then decided to take her up on her offer. "Sure. Just let me get a few hours sleep, and I'll help you out. For now. I'll let you get to work while you get used to the lay out of the manor." Murmured as he turned and headed back upstairs. The moment he laid down, he was asleep.

Cadaria

She nodded softly. She wondered who went missing. He must be a good friend , to loose sleep . She didnt have any friends like that. She was glad she ahdnt pissed him off. She wasnt oftent hat blunt. But he did look like hell. "Get as much sleep as you need I can clean up the rooms, set them up. and Get used to the manor." She watched him go upstairs.

She changed in to her second set of clothes to clean, leaving her nicer clothes folded inside ehr messager bag. She pulled back her hair annd foudn the cleaning suppies with no help. Then she went room to room.Dusting and wiping down things that were dusty. She didnt want to vacum and wake him so insetad she made a bucket of sopy water and washed the floors that were not carpet. Then hoping she woudlnt wake him she vacumed and made the rooms look very neat.

She worked over two hours making each room perfect. She knew which room he was in and left the door closed. She made the beds, and stocked the linen cabnet with fresh towels.

Then she cleaned the downstairs rooms, and kitchen. Three hours had now passed with her cleaning humming to herself. She was good at this, quick yet she didnt miss a spot.

She let him sleep all the while wondering who this friend was. She wished she had friends like that. She didnt have any friends. She had clients, and clients families and they might miss ehr wonder if she went missing. But no one that would loose sleep over it.

She let him sleep. Maybe he would be hungry when he woke up. A long sleepless night, maybe days of looking for his friend. So she washed ehr hands and went to making some lunch. As it was now almost ten. She didnt find much in the fridge. But she was good with working with less. She put together a nice looking soup. She found some bread and cheese. She hummed alittle tune while she chopped and peeled. Sauting the veggies first before adding the water. And some left over chicken, at least it smelt like chicken. It smelt good already.

The same song had gotten her through most of the day. She wasnt going to wake him shed let the smell of food do that. While the soup boiled away she made a list of things hed need if he wnated guests. Like more food. She added some new cleaning suppiles tot hat list. She knew this place now. Shed been up and down the stairs, in every room but his. She cleaned every room even the bathrooms, which there were more than one of. Getting messy never bothered her.

She did a little spin back to the sink while the soup boiled lowly. She washed the dishes.Letting herself sing the lyrics of the song shed been humming all day.

"Down and out is overrated
And I need to be elevated
Looking up is not enough
No, I would rather rise above"

"So can you lift me up,
Turn the ashes into flames
?Cause I have overcome
More than words will ever say
And I've been given hope
That there's a light on up the hall
And that a day will come
When the fight is won
And I think that day has just begun"

Then she hummed some more. Not continuing in her song.

It would be over five hours later before he would finally wake up, muttering under his breath, as he moved to the bathroom to splash some cold water on his face. "Might as well take a shower." More muttering as he got himself a set of clean clothes, and took a much needed shower.

It would be another thirty minutes, before he was dressed and moving downstairs. As he had taken note that she hand cleaned the house from top to bottem, getting a faint "Hmm." from him. As he moved on downstairs, just in time to catch and hear her singing in the kitchen.

"You did a wonderfull job. Keep this up and I just might hire you." Said as he moved to fix himself of the food she had cooked. Not really caring that it had cooled off since it had been cooked. As he moved to get a cup of tea, then sat down to slowly eat.

Cadaria

She kept busy tiding things up, cleaning cabnets, the pantry, anything that she ahdnt gotten to. ,keepign the soup on low so it wouldnt cool too much. But after a while she had to let it cool, shed heat it up for him once he woke up.

She stopped her singing.Blushing softly. She didnt mean for him to catch her,she wasnt usualy very sing songy around others. "Thank you." She watched him go to the soup which had cooled some. "I can heat that up for you, it be much better that way."Just a suggestion. She let him do as he pleased though. She hoped she would get hired, but even if she didnt it was good practice. She watche dhim go with his soup and tea then taking ehr bag from where she stashed it she went to change back in to the clothes shed worn over.

Aftera quick change, she folded the dirty cleaning clothes in to her bag, but kept her hair up. Back to her basic dark on dark look. She came back down stairs and rehung her bag up. She wondered if he needed her to do anything else. But she didnt want to bother him while he ate and enjoyed his tea so she waited, going over her lesson plan for tomorrow.

He looked up at the offer of heating the soup up, having not realized it was cold. Mind on other matters at the moment before sliding it to her when she came back. "Sure. Guess it would taste better." Murmured as he rubbed his hands against his face to get rid of the sleepiness.

Once she had heated it up, he started to eat again. "I'll hire you for now, as I do need the extra help around here. That is if you don't mind that arrangement for now." Said inbetween bites of food and sips of the tea. While pulling out a notepad, and going over the things he had wrote down.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-10-26 00:40 EST
She nodded and heated up his soup.Quickly. She carefully handed him backt he bowl. "Carefull its hot." She then sat down as well. "I don't mind." She watched him rub the sleepyness from his face. He must be working hard to find his missing friend. She really mind didn't she had rearraged her tutor sessions , at least most of them to the night. She did have five clients that she couldnt move to the night.

They were underlines on her paper, and the days circled on her self made calender. Which sat on the table with her books. She moved thsoe out of his way putting away her books, and all the note books but one.

"There are a few days I may have to come in at about noon.. I hope thats alright.I couldnt rearrage all my students to night tutoring.." She didnt like going places at night, even if she could handle herself. She didnt want to not be hired, but she was not giving up her students either. They needed her, at least for now. "I can write the days down.."She lifted the notebook shed left on the table up and opened it then carefully penned the dates she to come in at noon. Polite, and well orginized.

That was her. She tore the page free and sat it down where he could reach it. "I hope thats alright.." She knew he needed her help, the manor had been a mess. And hed needed his sleep. Slowly she put her things away and sat down. "This friend of yours.. the one whos missing." She began. "He or she must mean a lot to you." She could tell thats what had been on his mind, when hed taken the cold soup. She was willing to bet his friend was someone special to him. She hoped who ever it was, that he or she would be found alive and safe. But she kept her hopes to herself.

She didnt dare sit down. "I'll go do the dishes.." She swept upp her notebook and bag and walked off to go do the dishes and grab a bite to eat herself. She left her bag on the coat rack near the door and disappeared in to the kitchen. Where she washed, and rinsed and dried. She had a small bowl fo soup and crakers herself as well. She sighed while she worked, as she held up the laddel to dry it she left her wings out and looked tot he reflection in the laddel.

Once upon a time she would have gladly offered her help to him, in finding his missing friend. But she wasnt in the guardian business any more. She let those black wings disappear and continued to dry the dishes. She hoped he wouldnt change hsi mind about hiring her, she wasnt in it for the money.More the experience. She tried not to tie herself to people, immortal or mortal. Not since being cast down. She put the dishes away slowly.

He mumbled a thanks as he started to eat the now warmed up soup, not minding that it was a touch hot. Every so often he'd stir it as he was again lost in his own thoughts. A blink as he looked up at her asking if it would be fine if she came in late on some days. Letting her finish before he spoke.

"That would be fine. They need a proper education first and foremost." He wasn't going to keep her from that tye of job. Drake understood what a proper education could do for people. More so with those that were offered help to gain it.

"She is family in a way. So..when she went missing I didn't waste anytime looking for her, but I have the feeling her brother. Whom is my mentor found out about it and is here. I'll let him handle her kidnapper and look for her. Think you could set up a room for her? She's a dragon." Suddenly revealing everythign that he knew so far, as she was working for him. It would save him from having to explain at a later date.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-10-29 01:03 EST
She listened when she came back for his empty bowl. She sat, nodding along. She was glad he understood she coudlnt abandon her students. She felt the same way, a good education would get many of her stduents far from Rhydins dangerous streets. She listened carefully to hsi words about his missing friend, so it was a she.

Family, someone clsoe to him. He wasnt working alone at the very least , he meantioned a brother. Whow as also his mentor, shed like to meet that man. "A dragon..?" Or dragon.. depending on the circumstances. In Rhydin family wasnt always flesh and blood. Could a dragon get in to the manor? She supposed one could, magic abounded in Rhydin. "Yes I could set up a room for her, where ever she might be most comfortable, perhaps down here would be better as a smaller room wouldnt suit a dragon." Nor its wings, she knew a little bit about wing space. "I could set anything up that she might need. A cozy place to sleep, and recover. Water, food, bedding.." What did dragons eat she wondered, shed have to do some research. Shed be glad to help in any way, even if that meant giving a dragon a bath every day.

She folded her hands over one another lookign across to him. "Your a very good friend to do this for her, loose sleep.Risk your life, as it sounds like you might be doing. If I didnt know better I'd think you were an angel. "She slowly took his bowl now that it was empty. "Just let me know what I can do and I will do it." She didnt mind taking orders. She smiled to him then went to finish the dishes.

Perhpas this job would be a good fit for her. She could help, and not feel helpess. She could possibly save someone, or help to save someone and not be cast down for it. Once the dishes were clean and drys he walked back out to where he sat. "Is there anything else I can do for you, while I am here?" Not that she had any where to go.Not today.

Drake Jones

He pondered on the idea of a large room for Icer when she was found to recover in, then shook his head lightly. "Actually I was thinking about putting her in one of those incubators that they sometimes put newborn babies in. It would allow her to heal without having to worry to much about her hurting herself." Yeah.. THat would probably be the best way to go.

He then chuckled softly to her coment about him beig an angel. "Far from being an angel. If I haven't told you..I am a vampire. As for my doing everything I can to find my missing friend, as well as offer my home for her to recover. Was merely how I was taught. Put family first above all else." A faint smile to that as he wasn't one to blow smoke up his own ass.

He then pondered her last question as he trie to think if there was anything else that needed to be done. After a long moment of silence, he would shake his head. "Nothing that I can think of at the moment. If you'll excuse me. I do need to head out to check on things. You are free to go as well." Bowing his head to her before he moved to head out.

Cadaria

She nodded to the first part. athat would be one large incubator. But with the money or magic someone could get about anything they wanted in Rhydin. She agreed that would be the best thing for an injured Dragon. She hoped his friend wasnt injured but the likely hood of that would be ..well she wouldnt bet on it.

She let him tell her what he was though she already knew that. Shed known from the moment they met. It was that little special sense she had.She liked to think it came with being what she was..But maybe it was from living in Rhydin all these years. "You were taught well then." Was all she said to hat. Family above all else. That was a good thing. A good quality to have. He wasnt cocky about it either she liked that. But she knew that he was fiercely loyal.

"Alright.. "She grabbed her bag and as he headed out so did she. She walked away from his house, towards home. She rolled her shoulders a bit and hummed once more to herself.

Over the next couple of days, Drake could be seen coming and going from the manor. As he had been spending those daylight hours at Icer's lair. Helping to tend to the hatchlings, as well as making sure the food he was sending out was being handed out like he wished.

At the moment, he was sitting at the kitchen table. Pondering over the recent events that seemed to have gripped the various areas of the city. There was nothing more he could do at the moment, other than offer help to those that needed it.

He was still waitting for word that the chance to free Icer had come, but the longer that time passed. The less that chance seemed to be going to happen. As well as it becoming more of an all or nothing shot in the dark to just take the dragon back. Yet he would wait.. for how much longer.. He didn't know.

She showed up when she was meant to.Usually on time a few days she showed up with paint in her hair. Or a pencil holding her bun up. The days went by and she watched him.He seemed distressed, some how missing himself . She knew his missing friend was weighing heavily on him.On a few days she would come to his manor and find it empty. She figured on those days he was out looking for his lost dragon friend. She didnt knock on those days she sensed her wanst there.

She wanted so badly to offer something more thans he could. Some more help in the matter. But What else could she do? So she came by did anything he needed ehr to do. She pulled weeds from around the house, fixed broken hinges in doors and cabnets.Cleaned every window inside and out. The manor looked better. But Drake seemed worse with each passing day.

All she could offer was her hope, her faith... a smile in the dakrness to light the dawning day.

Cadaria

It was more than a dream, more than just a memory. It had been her life. Long ago. One could not forget,it was impossible. Once a long time ago shed been human. Mortal. Now she was something else. No longer an angel, no she'd fallen from grace over a century ago. It would have seemed like a long time if she could piece it all together. But her life before she been in heaven she couldn't put together. Not who she was or how she died.

But how shed fallen she knew that all too well it played out for her in her dreams, and waking nightmares.

When she first became an angel they told her the rules. The ones that could never be broken. You could never lose your faith, nor start to believe in something else any other God. You had things you had to do, no cushy afterlife here. She had been given a job to do. Guardian angel. To protect and serve one soul, one person till the day they were set to die. Not that anything was ever truly set, people defied death all the time. But death usually won out over time. And that was all mortals had was time. Limited time as it was. Immortals didn't get guardian angels, they didn't need them they lived forever.

Her charge. Was just a girl. She was young, very young when shed been charged to Cadaria. Barely five. Her hair was the color of toasted wheat. Her eyes the palest blue. She lived in a dangerous city surrounded by demons and darkness. It sounded like Rhydin to Cadaria now when she thought about it but it wasn't Rhydin it was some where else some where she couldn't really recall. Demons were real, they always didn't have horns or leathery wings. Sometimes they were as human and normal as anyone else.

The girls parents were working people who often left their daughter in the hands of others. Family, friends, caretakers. Cadaria figured this job would be easy. What possible trouble could a five year old get in to?

Leila. That was her name. And she was full of life and energy, and she loved to take adventures.

And for the first few years nothing happened. Cuts and bruises, little and big falls. The usual for youth and growing up.

So Cadaria watched always near by for when the girl now older now a teenager might need her. She watched as she got broken hearts, and went through her young years. She grew in to a lovely young woman and faced down death when her parents died in a plane crash. She was alone then for a long time.

Cadaria wanted to step in to help her more than she was allowed. And she almost did. But heaven didn't offer second chances. How funny.

That was when Cadaria made her first mistake, she started to believe in something else, rather that just the one God. Leila was now twenty. And off at college. More broken hearts, more struggles. But her life seemed danger free. A few close calls but Cadaria had always stepped in. A trip down a flight of stairs, nothing too major.

Then she got the call. It wasn't like someone ringing her up on a phone it was more of a sense. Her charge was destine to die, soon. Sooner than Cadaria thought fair. Leila had finally found someone to love that loved her back. She had a good job and a home of her own. And was looking forward to her life with the man she loved, and maybe a family too.

It didn't seem fair that she would die so suddenly in a car crash in a weeks time. Cadaria had broken two rules already, her faith was failing, and she started to believe in something else. Something more. Now she was about to break the most dangerous rule to break. She was going to save her charge who was destine to die. She was going to go against death, and change the coarse of history.

It was the right thing to do in the end. She knew that now.

Cadaria recalled saving Leila, and her then boyfriend from the flames. She knew they both lived that night, that death had lingered there sure of himself. But then faded when they were alive and well. She also recalled being called up. There was no grand meeting, no 'you get another chance.' Nothing. One moment basking in the peace and calm that was the afterlife then being cast out, cast down to the mortal plain. The pain was something she could never forget.

Waking up in an alley way in a place she didn't know. Feeling like she was on fire. Laying there for days, weeks her lovely white wings molted disappeared then regrew , In the color of ink. It was pain, shear pain. Like being ripped apart and glued back together with flames. Her body felt broken in so many places. Like shed been hit by lightining, set on fire then beaten near death. She was surely nothing to look at them.

But she found after a month she could heal herself and move more freely again. Shed been cast out and forgotten. But she still had all the skills of an angel. The healing powers the holy magic. And somehow in her heart she knew Leila was alive.

A full century after shed been cast out she'd grown used to this new place. Rhydin. Sure shed gone many places, seen the old world and the new. But Rhydin became her home, her past faded with the passing years. But she never forgot her charge or why she had fallen. Leila was dead now, ash .. but Cadaria often hoped that perhaps shed gotten married and had children. Yes she hoped that very much.

Now her world was a different place. She wasnt mortal, but she lived amoung many mortals here. There were also immortals, demons, vampires , dragons and other things too. All which she got used to over time. She never changed, her face reamined young as she had been when she died, her hair dark like ink. Her eyes vibrant and green. Her body fluid, strong, powerful. Her wings forever black. She was old, but it didn't show, and never would.

She got a job, earned money. Got a place of her own the place she still lived. The RoseVine Apartments. On the East side of Rhydin. She lived on the top level, in D 2. There were two large studio apartments up there. D 1 had then and still belong to Vance Malloy, a vampire. The first landlord had died, giving the place to his son. Mr. Gilbert as Cadaria knew him. The RoseVine had been in their family for many years, father to son, and so on. And most of the people who rented from him were not mortal. Cadaria knew of only six mortals in the whole building.

It was a gift being able to tell who was what. Made it easier for her to find work. At first many people shied away from her. This pretty girl couldn't possibly have anything to give. But over time she proved them wrong and now had a strong client list and was often refereed to others from those very clients.

She knew after a solid century that shed never be called back. She was set to live here. Though immortal she knew she could be easily killed by the changing times, weapons and people changed. But she could defend herself and she learned to be wary with her trust. She'd tried to date, but it never ended well. Mortals noticed too much, like the fact that she didn't age. Or maybe that she had large black wings, that freaked them out. The mortal coil in Rhydin was few and far between. Immortals and others who lived longer lives knew what she was, they could tell they had that seventh sense. Many avoided her. So she didn't date, it seemed pointless. Many saw her as a pretty face, a woman with a nice body. But she was fierce, and loyal to a fault, and powerful. That was always a huge deal. A woman with power.

Waking from the dream of the pain was always the same. She shot up from bed and gasped for air. Thankfully the walls and floor were thick for her scream couldn't be held back. In the dark she regained herself. The room was dark, she was alone.

It was early again, long before she had to be awake. But then she had a new job to get to.

Back at the manor, Drake was getting back from another long day of helping out Syndel on guard duty at the lair. As well as spending a few hours helping out Elektra inside with caring for the hatchlings, with both becoming rather routine as of late. Eyes and ears open for any word of sight that it was the time to rescue Icer.

Pausing to yawn as he stretched his frame out, before moving towads the room that was being set up to serve as the dragon's recovery room. Putting sleep on hold again, as he started to set the room up. A small incubator set up in the middle. With couches and a few tables set up around. For those that wished to visit Icer while she recovered.

When Cadaria show up for another day's work. She just might find him crashing on one of the couches in that room. One arm lying over his chest, with the other drapped over his eyes. With one leg dangling off the side of the couch.

She came in a bit late.Hung her jacket and ba up and went to go find him.She found him there in the room he had set up with the incubator set up in the middle, the couches and tables around. This would be the room his friend recovered in. She spied him asleep on the couch he looked rather peacefull.Sos he tooka alnekt fromt he hall cabnet and covered him with it.

She would let him get his sleep and went to work. Letting the ngiht before fade from her memory as much as possible. But She was on edge. She eyed the windows and recalled how razor dharpt he broken pieces of widnow glass had been along her shoulders, arms and hands. Her favorite pjs lay in shreds now rags for another use.

Vance had been very mind that following night.Shed never drink beer again. She knew what was up. But she had ajob to do, two jobs that she liked very much. She woudlnt let anything stop her, not the pain nor the lack of rest she had the eve before. She went tot he kitchen to get her afternoon started.

It wasn't long after Cadaria had drapped the blanket over his form, that he would slowly wake up. Having gotten used to cat napping as of late, as he slowly sat up before taking note of that blanket. A faint smile crossed his lips as he tossed it off, then moved towards the kitchen. Stretching his frame out with a groan.

"Morning." Murmured as he moved to get himself a cup of coffee, only to sink down into one of the chairs at the table. Inhaling the scents of the fresh coffee before taking a long slow sip of it.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-12 22:35 EST
She smiled to him as she brewed the coffee and made some food. "Good morning, I see you got some rest though not enough I am sure." She poured herself a cup of coffee too.She thought about telling him about Dominic right then and there, warning him to stay away from angels.

She had just poured the cup of coffee. She wasnt dreaming she had heard it again. The shattering of glass. Ot came from in his house up stairs she was sure... " Did you hear that?" Maybe shed lost her mind maybe she was worrying too much.

There was no reason for Dom to come ehre now.She had till midnight.. to give him what he wanted. But still she sat the cup down.

Drake Jones

He nodded lightly to that. "I got a few hours of rest, and it looks like you didn't get much either." Murmured as he moved a hand up to rub his face, followed with another sip of the coffe. Only for his gaze to snap up from it to the shattering of glass.

Without a word he set the coffee cup to the side, as his brows furrowed slightly. "Who in the word would be breaking out windows here?" Muttered as he rose to stand up, then moved out of the kitchen. Not giving her time to say anything towards him, as he was already stalking up the stairs.

Now moving down the hallway towards the room where the shattering of glass came from. One hand grabbing the handle to it, before pushing it wide open, and stepped inside to see what had shattered the window.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-12 22:58 EST
Cadaria followed him.She had no time to stop him to warn him.If it was Dom she had nothing no time ,to train, to graba weapon or hope to be able to over power him.

"She can pay for that.."Dominic stood there int he shattered glass that spread over the floor. His eyes shot to Cadaria. "I thought you might work faster I killed someone to prove to you I am serious... So I followed you around. Your not a very good drunk you know. I thought about that vampire in your building. But I'll save him."

"Dominic get out of here, this is between you and me, dont involve anyone else." She couldnt fight him and win.But she woudl be damned if she let him hurt Drake.

Dom flicked at his ashy black hair and smiled at her. "Ahh too late.. dont you know Cadaria ..Personal affection is a luxury you can only have afterall your enimes are eliminatnated.Until then, everyone you love is a hostage, sapping your courage and corrupting your judgement. First him, then maybe you'll see I mean what I said. You care for him, this will help with that. "He grinend at Drake. "Nothing personal really but she owes me, and this will hurt only for a second."

"No..."Cadaria burst past Drake in to the room. Dominic chuckled and smacked her across the face as she came for him then grabbed her by the hair and tugged her back to him. "And you will watch this as he dies..."

"No...! Drake.. run, get away, go...!"

But it would be to late Dominic let loose his holy fire a blinding bright light filled the room along with instense heat.

Drake quirked a brow to the male as he mouthed off, and was about to speak when Cadaria spoke up. Listening to the pair, before she blew by him only to get captured. His eyes darkened to that, as he looked towards the male. "You vastly underestimate who you are dealing with." Was all he managed to say before that blast of holy fire washed over him.

He grinned his teeth as he snapped his arms up in an X in front of his face. Closing his eyes as he barely managed to bring up a magical barrier to wrap around is form. Forcing him to take a few steps backwards, as he knew how this type of spell worked. It was supposed to last till the target was destroyed.

Suddenly snaping his arms down, in a dual slash. Causing the spell to flicker hard before it just flickered out completely. Twin swords in his hands that seemed to be humming with a white light. Yet Drake was breathing a touch deeply at the moment, as his eyes were a glowing dark red.

"So much for your plan to kill those around her. Let's see how you fair when the tables have been turned." Sheathing those swords in a fluid motion, only to lift his right hand up. Palm facing towards the intruder. Power started to cackle around his frame, then around his arm.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-12 23:28 EST
The flames flickered and she knew it was over. "Dom you bastard.... How coudl you... I would have given you what you wnated you didnt need to kill him... I..."She started but she saw Drake was alive....How was that possible? He had survived,no one had ever survived. She looked to those twin swords.Dom looked there too,she could feel his grip return to her hair and then her neck.

She kicked backwards though and got released. Coughing and gasping for air n the floor coevred with window glass.

"No ones ever survived holy fire..." Dom was taken back, not so cocky now. He eyed those swords first then Drake. How looked like well, Dominic who enver backd down fro naything backed slowly away. Like all bullies he wasnt much when faced with someone better than him. He looked to Cadaria... "Were not finished.." He figured hed go for ehr take him with her.

Cadaria grabbed the only weapon she had on her at the moment, the glass ont he floor cut in to ehr plam as she thrust it in to his bare foot. "Youd have to kill me to take me any where..."She breathed heavly.Dom had gotten her good with his vice like grip. Her eyes going between Dom and a very pissed off Drake. Shed only just met him but never ahd she seen him like this... she had never imagined he could have that kind of power.

Dom yelled and kicked her back and to the wall she flew again this time knocked out cold.

Drake Jones

Date: 2010-11-13 15:10 EST
Eyes darted as he watched Cadaria hit the wall, then back to Dominic with those eyes darkening even more. First the male broke into his home, attacked him..then was low enough to attack a woman. "Let's see how you handle this." The energy that had been cackling around his arm finally centered into the palm of his hand.

A moment later he released the full force of that energy, with it streaking outwards from his fingertips. Harsh lightening flew towards the offending male, striking him full in the chest. The lightening coursing through every fiber of Dominic's body while lifting him to over in place.

Drake was allowing his full anger to flow into the attack, strenghtening it as time passed. It was a rare moment for the youth as he had allowed himself to be blinded by his own anger, as he normally kept it under control. Before an explosion happened, sending Dominic flying out the window.

Lowering his arm to keep those streaking bolts of lightening from starting a fire. While shaking his head clear of the daze and worn fatigue that had rocked him. As he moved over to Cadaria's body and carefully picked her up, and carried her to a spare room. Laying her down on the bed so she could rest.

He would also carefully examine her, and found some bruising but no broken bones. He would bandage her cut hand. After nodding he would pull up the covers on the bed, stopping just under her shoulders. He slipped out of the room to clean up the mess of the broken glass. He'd fix the window later, as he took the broken glass downstairs and dumped it in the trash.

Cadaria

Cadaria woke a little while later. The memory was there of Drake in the holy fire and him living through it. The memory almost brought back her scream, but she knew that part of the fight was over. But then She tried to be a hero and Dom hadnt like that. She rubed the back of her head and noticed her hand was bandaged. She had also been covered and laid in a nice bed.

She smiled softly, it was still light out, maybe late afternoon. That kick form Dom set her out for a long nap. She was in that room , the widnow was fixed now, the glass gone. No evidence of the fight remained, not even any marks on the rugs or floor fromt he holy fire.

She slipped slowly from the bed. Dominic wouldnt have left her alive if he had lived. What had Drake done after she saw nothing but blackness? Was Drake alright? No one had ever fought an arch angel for her. Most mortals or even immortals who tired died in such a fight. She made her way as quickly as possible back down stairs. She didnt know really where he would be, so she would try the dinning table, near the kitchen first.

"Drake?" She spotted him there at the table.Alive, but looking very run down. She walked tot he table and sat down across from him, looking over him with those green eyes. He looked like hell, worse than hell in fact. She didnt know what to say or how to begin... So she justs ta there a moment.

" Thank you..." Hed saved her ass even though he didnt have to. " I dont know what you did.. but I know Dom.He wouldnt have left me alive if he was still breating..."She sighed then. "And I am sorry he came here, broke in to your house and started up with me and that he was going to kill you.. I was perpared to stop him.Though I likely wouldnt have been able to do much. I have never been as strong since.. I fell. "Shed never had told him what she was.

"But what ever you did... thank you...I wouldnt blame you if you fired me here and now.. And thank you for this.." She lifted her bandaged hand. What else could she say? She tucked a way ward strand of hair back behind her ear .

He blinked out of the daze he had been in to hearing Cadaria's voice and lifted his gaze to her. The burn marks that the holy fire had caused had healed by now. But his magical energiues were low at the moment, as well as his own energy being drained. As one hand came up to lightly wave off her words.

"I do not blame you for what happened here today. He was foolish to think that he was all powerfull and finally paid for it. Nor will you be fired over it. Yet I do wish to know what he was after, and if any others might show up." HIs voice a touch ragged at the moment.

The full effect of the fight for pretty much both of their lives showed in his eyes, which were very dull and glassed over looking at the moment. As well as there being a deep slouch in how he was sitting. Actually looking frail now.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-14 00:14 EST
She looked at himHe looked so frial so tired and weak. The cost fot eh fight showed in his glossy glassy looking eyes. She Smilied dimly knowing he wasnt mad at her nor would she be fired. She was so thankful to him, the fight likely could have cost his life, it looked like he was drained as it was.

"What he was after is a long story. And other may come, but I will figure out a way to keep them away.. I will tell you everything. But you need to rest. " She puleld he hair back a d rose to her feet. "Come on,I am going to take yo up stairs and get you in to bed. And I am going to stay till your well again, fully healed."She could send for some of her things,or once he was alseep hurry home and get them r self.

"Once you've had some rest I will tell you anything you want to know.No one will show up for a while... so you dont have to worry. "She offered her hand to him. "I'll get you in bed, get you some food, and take care of you."

Drake Jones

Date: 2010-11-14 13:17 EST
He started to say otherwise for a moment, then shook his head lightly. He was just to tired at the moment to mount a decent agruement on waitting to rest later. Slowly pushing himself to stand up, after finishing the cup of coffee. With a hand grabbing her shoulder to let the dizziness pass, then turned to move towards the stairs leading up towards his room.

"I will hold you to your word to tell me everything later." Same ragged reply as he slowly shed his cloak. Revealing his clothing had nearly been burnt off his frame. He looked over his shoulder to her, with a faint smile.

"Stop looking so worried about me.. I'll be fine in a few days." Just as he moved into his room, then shut the door. True be told..He knew it could take a week or even more to regain the lost energy he had used. Yet he wouldn't tell her that, as he changed his clothes. Tossing what was left of the ones he had on in the trash.

The moment he laid down, and his head hit the pillow. He was in a deep sleep. Where he would probably remain for now, till the need to eat someone roused him from that healing sleep.

The moment he laid down, and his head hit the pillow. He was in a deep sleep. Where he would probably remain for now, till the need to eat someone roused him from that healing sleep.

She gave him that look all the way to his room. His clothes looked like hed been through hell fire.Holty fire wasnt far off from that. His cloak seemed to be the only item not in rag quality. She would let him change and would go get some food going. She would tell him, she had prosmised to. But it wasnt a sotry for a weary body, mind nor heart.

When she returned to check on him he was alseep. She covered him and sighed. She figured hed be alseep for a while so she went home to gather some thigns she would need to stay at his palce. Clothes, books, her note books. ANyhting she might need for a few weeks. She also wrote a note and stuck it under Vances door.

"Vance.. I will be staying at Drakes for a little while.Dom attacked him.Drake is alright but needs some special care. We will ave to postpone that dinner. I was wondering if you would be so kind to get my mail for me while I am gone? You can hold on to it or drop it by Drakes. Thank you.. Dominic is dead, but someone will c me to replace him soon enough.Keep your eyes out and stay safe. Cadaira."

She then double checked her door to make sure she locked it up tight then headed back out to Drakes.

She set herself up in that one guest room just downt he hallf rom his she wouldnt unpack she just left all ehr things in their respective bags. She did take one item form ehr bag and slide it around her neck tucking it under her shirt, it would be safer there.

Once she was all settled in more or less she checked on Drake again.Still alseep. She wasnt about to try and heal any of his wounds if he had any.She didnt see anything. The damage was likely all magical. Shed offer ehr help in healing to him once he was awake and after she gave him the answers he deserved.

He didnt need this, his friend was still missing. And now angels were kncoking down his door. Or rather breaking his windows... and Dominic was dead. But others would come. It would take mayeb a week for the death to ge back to the main boss.. but sooner or later another angel would come down seekign what she had.

She set to cleaning up his house, tiding already tidy rooms and making some dinner. Hoping food would help him heal as much as sleep would.

Drake Jones

As it had been the case over the last few weeks, Drake only slept for a few hours tops. As he moved to sit up with a yawn, and one hand rubbing the back of his neck. Tossing the covers off, before moving to stand up followed by him getting dressed fully. Cloak and all, thne made his way downstairs.

Once in the kitchen, he would fix himself a plate of the food that Cadaria had whipped up. He then moved to sit down. "Tell me everything..as well as how many more that you think will show up." Voice a bit tired as he really needed to start sleeping more. That thought shaken off as he started to eat slowly.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-16 23:11 EST
She sat down across from him as he fixed himself a plate of food. "You should sleep more..running your self raw will nt find your friend any faster nor will it do you any good."She scolded him slightly before he demanded the answers he needed to know.

She would start at the begining. "I should start at the begining. I'm not human. If you didn't already know that." She knew vampires, along with many other types of creatures could tell those types of things.

"I was once mortal, human. Its a life I don't remember. In that life I died.. and gained a new status as an angel.A guardian angel. I had a charge.Leila. I was meant to keep her I couldnt protect her from everything...she was fiv when I became her guardian...I watched her grow up. Go through the trials of life. Broken bones to broken eharts. Her parents died in a plane crash and she was very muc alone for a long time.I felt for her...I disobeyed the rules. Angels have rules.. lots of them.No second chances. I started to beilve in something else, something more than just one god. That was my first true mistake.

Leila went to college. Struggled and lived. I stepped in when i was meant to like a pawn on some huge chess board. But then I got the call, t was more like a whisper in my ear telling me that her time was up.Its eemed so unfair. She wa shappy at last, found someone she loved.I wnated her to live not to die so senselessly.

My faith was failing, and i had started to believe in something more.I was failing as an angel. I then broke the most important rule. I saved her frm death. It was the right thing to do.I know that now. But they cast me out. "

She took a long sip of the tea shed made herself. "The pain was intense worse than anything I have ever felt.I got cast dwon right here. With justa flickering hope that i would live. White wings mtled and fell apart, and lack wings grew in t their place.

I found after a while i was alive and I could heal msyelf.I had fallen but my abilites remained.I knew Leila was alive. And that alone was worth all the pain." Another sip. "A century later I had grown used to this place. But I always knew they would come for me. I have something I shoudlnt.Something from my mortal past. They want it back."

She pulled the simple thing from around her neck where shed placed it before. It was a necklace,a long silver chain with small heart locket at the end. The locket was tarnished and shed never been able to open it. But it was all she had from her past, her life as a mortal.Shed hidden away whens he got called up to heaven and they told her shed remember nothing of her past life, and that everything she had fromt hat time was to be given to them. But she couldnt bare to part with it so she hid it. Never telling anyone about it. But they found out at some point, that was what Dom had been after. He was gone, but someone else would be sent in his place. It would never be finished.. not unless she istoryed the only link she had to trying to piece together her past.

No one would be safe...not her clients or their families, nor anyone she knew, the people she lived near. her enighbors.. Vance.. and Drake.. they would all be in danger. Some of them were fighters, able to stand up for them selves.. but she was sure not everyone could withstand the hold fire... hell she was sure of that. no one was safe...

She sat it upon the table. "As long as I have it they wont stop coming for me. Dominic was justa foot soilder, a low level lackie if you will. They have more power than me. I ahve magic still holy magic, healing , a little of this and that iI've picked up around Rhydin. But Angels have more fire power than I do."She eyed him. "How you survived holy fire I will never know." She recalled how he had looked with his twin swords and his eyes upon Dominic.

"It will be at least two weeks before anyone else shows up to look for me.They will go to my place first.Like Dom did. I warned my neighbor to be on the look out. I will likely not go to any of my sessions this week.To save the lives of my students.."She looked down at her tea. "Its not safe for you either.I shouldnt stay here...but I want to make sure your alright."

She looked across at him. "They will hurt anyone they wish to get to me,to that.Anyone they think will hurt me enough to give it up. My friends, my students any one I care for.. "

She snagged the necklace back and put it back around her neck. " I know who will come next. Hes not as cocky as Dom... hes older,wiser..."]She took a long sip of tea. "Luca. Hes well.. if Dom it a foot soilder Luca is.. the general of the army. Hes one of the high rankers.. sorta speak. "She ran her fingers through her hair. "I am going to give them what they want.. the necklace.."It was the only link she ahd to her life before, but it didnt matter any more. "I dont need anyone dying on my account."

Drake remained quiet as he listened ot her story, with a nod here and there. As well as continuing to eat the food, till pushing the plate to the side. Washing it down with a sip of coffee, pondering on her words as she spoke them.

"May I see it?" Pointing to the necklace, as he then heldout his hand for it. A poilte smile to made it look like he wasn't up to anything. Not that he had a reason to be up to anything with her.

"And don't worry about me. I'll be able to handle anything they can throw at me..and if need be. I can get a few firends to help out." Hand still out for the necklace.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-16 23:27 EST
She took the neckalce back off her neck and settled it in his hand. "I don't want you getting hurt. Dominic could have killed you.Luca will kill you.I wont allow it,even if I have to figt him myself.I will . "She die trying any how that would satisfy the blood thrity angels. "You have good friends, people willing to risk their life for you.."She sighed. "Your lucky..but you don't need to risk anyone,or wnaything. They will get what they wnat when Luca comes.." She looked to that tarnished necklace and locket at its end.

"Its everyone I've ever known, or cared for verse the one thing I have of my past. That or my life...I'd be willing to bett hey'd take me... too. "Shed go to save people she cared for.

Drake Jones

Date: 2010-11-16 23:34 EST
The moment she let go of the necklace, once it was in his hand. He would lift it up closer to look at it, and before she could utter a word in protest. It would slipped around his neck, then tucked under his shirt. Before he lowered his hand back to the coffee cup, lifting it to his lips for a sip.

"You let me worry about them, and this from now on." Tapping where the lockect laid against his chest. His look and tone telling her in that moment. That it was a final say and nothing she could say would get him to change his mind.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-16 23:45 EST
"Drake..."She protested as he slid the necklace around his neck and tucked it under his shirt. "You don't have to do that..."She knew his midn was amde up he had that look in his eyes. "Its worse than wearing a target on your back..."She sighed and rose with his empty plate and her empty cup. She coudlnt really take it back now, he had it and she knew he wasnt giving it back. She went to go wash the dishes. If she could only figure out a way he didnt have to place himself as a target.

She had wnated to leave him out of this. She kenw that he was one of her new greater weaknesses. She washed the dishes .But then he was so willing to rsik his life for her, he barely knew her and there he was wearing this target around town with him. Liek he didnt have enough troubles already. She shook her head softly. Like she didnt already like him to much to begin with now he had to go and be a big hero.

She knew shed never be able to repay him.Nor thank him for this. She wondered why he was doing all this, when he had so much already on his mind.

She thought about going to ask him why exactly he had gone to such trouble over her. She was about to get the nerve to ask him .

Drake Jones

There was a thin smirk to hre concern on him wearing that necklace, but to him it would force the ones that would be coming in the next few weeks to face him. He wasn't in the least bit worrid about it, or if he was..He wasn't going to show it.

After finishing the cup of coffee, he took it to her and set it on the counter. "I'll be back later. If any more show up, do not fight them. Come get me." Said as he turned from her and moved for the front door. Pausing to get his swords and a new cloak. Once both items were in place, he moved to head out.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-17 23:41 EST
She stopped when he came in to say he was heading off. She knew where he was likely going. As he was going armed. "They will come to you if any show up.Its the neckalce they want." She knew arguing with him was pointless so she smiled and wave him off.

She cleaned the kitchen after he left. Thens he went around the manor checking to see if anything needed done.

~~

An hour later she found herself on the couch with a book. It was open but she wasnt really reading it. She missed being at home where she culd do what she normally did. With angel assassins she had to make sure she postponed all her lessons till the danger was over. She sent out the mail before after poking through his manor .

The knock at the front door scared gher out of the couch. The book fell to the floor. She bit at her bottom lip. This was it wasnt it?They'd come early.

She lifted the book up and walked to the door, expecting to open it and see Luca.

"Vance.." He stood there looking at her with a very perplexed look. "Going to use that on me?" She looked down ahh she held one of the few wepaons she owed in her hand,a simple dagger. She shrugged and tucke dit through her belt. "No.. sorry thought you were someone else."

He nodded. " I got your note, so your staying here.. to take care of Drake? Or did he ask you to stay so he could protect you?" "I am staying here of my own free will to make sure he doesnt get him self killed om my account." Vance nodded and handed over her mail. She took it witha smile. "Thank you.."

"Don't supose I could come in?" She didnt know if she should invite him in this wasnt her house. "How about I come out.." She reached to the coat rack and grabbed her jacket and stepped out.

"So any more angel assassins come knowing down his windows yet?" "No," but they would soon or rather they'd likely just pin point where her necklace was and be done with it. "Not yet. I am hoping they havent figured out Dominic is dead yet."

Vance nodded. "You know.. I could protect you too.. "He just threw that out there. Cadaria looked out in to town, she didnt need protection, not really. " I can defend myself.. its not really protection I need." Vance didnt know what to say to that. So he changed the subject "So we can't have dinner tonight?"

She could say no. She could say she neneded to take care of Drake but hed gone fof to do.What ever it was he went to do. And dinner soudned nice, besides maybe dinenr with soemone else, someone whos eemed interested in ehr would help he get over her crush. The crush she shouldnt have.

"I'd love to have dinner." Vance smiled seemingly surpised, surely he thought shed say no. "Good, I'll drop by about seven. I should go, I have a meeting. But I will see you tonight." Cadaira nodded "Tonight."

She went back in hung her coat and ehaded up stairs.Did she have anything for a dinner date? She wshe owned anything fancy.. date worthy.

It would be another hour before Drake returned to the manor, as one hand came up to cover his mouth to hide a yawn. Pausing inside the door to look around a moment, while reaching out mentally to scan the house. Everything seemed in order, as he moved through the house towards the kitchen.

Not seeing Cadaria so far, as he moved to fix himself something to eat. And while it cooked, he took a moment to remove his cloak and drapped it over the back of one o fthe chairs. As a soft whistle left his lips as he went back to cooking. Guessing she had went upstairs to lay down for a few hours.

She went back in hung her coat and headed up stairs.Did she have anything for a dinner date? was anything she owned anything fancy.. date worthy.

She looked at her laid out clothes, most of whats he wore shed brought with her. But nonthing was date worthy. Not for some fancy dinner thing. She sighed and started to rehang and refold her clothes. "Who am I kidding..? I can't go on some fancy date.."

She shook her head. "I dont have anything fancy to wear, and.. its not really wise of me. " Once shed put all her suff away again she sat down on the edge of the bed. She sighed, how could she cancel on Vance? How could she expalin any of it? She had feelings for someone else she shoudlnt someone she knew she needed to get over. "Get a grip , you should do this." She picked out her nciest pair of black pants, her only pair of nice non boot shoes.Which were little flats. And a nice top, soemthing not black or grey. She went with green to semi match her eye color. Shed get ready later closer to the date time, but she wanted to kow she had something to wear.

Drake was still gone. She hadnt heard him come back yet. She had nothing left to do but wonder if this date with Vance was a good idea. She lay back and starred up. " I know he likes me..its not like I can't tell that. "A sigh. "But dating always ends badly.." She ruffled her hair a bit and sat up. "What if he tries to kiss me at the end of the night?" She rose and paced to the right. She thought about that for a long moment. She hadnt been ona date in years.Shed only been able to think about one man as of late. She fiddled with her hair a bit, letting it down in soft waves. She didnt bother ettign dolled up, she had never needed much make up, a little of this of that.Natural was ehr look most of the time, shed add a bit more later.

She smelt the food cooking.Drake must have come home while she was tossing her clothes around grumbling at herself. She hung up the outfit for later and headed down stairs. She poked her head in to the kitchen. "Your back, how did it go?" He might note her feetw ere bare, her hair down, and she looked a bit frazzled.

Drake Jones

Date: 2010-11-18 23:34 EST
He looked over his shoulder to hearing Cadaria's voice. "Gotten a few more people to help out at her lair, but still nothing on the dragoness." A light smile as he looked back to the food he was cooking. As he had taken note of her frazzled look. He then turned to set the table.

"Is everything alright? You look a bit frazzled about something." Looking to her again as it looked like he had fixed enough food for two people. Nothing fancy or anything, just a simple dinner.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-18 23:46 EST
She looked to the food. Then to him. It smelt good. But thens he had a dinner date.. "Frazzled.."She looked down at her bare feet and then sat at the table. "I guess I am frazzled. My neighbor.. Vance. "

How would she begin this.. " He dropped by I asked him to pick my mail up for me..He asked me a few days ago to dinner.. then I told him I needed to postpone, assassin angels and everything." She ran her fingers through her hair. "He asked me again when eh was here.. for tonight ,and I said yes, to dinenr. And I am starting to regret it. Hes a vampire, and very different from me.More.. refined.. And I dont do well on dates."''

Facing down assassins sure, she could do that, no sweat.Dates, sent her in to frazzled mode.

He nodded as he listened to her telling him about what had happened, before coming to a stop as he took a casual lean on the kitchen counter. Shaking his head lightly, as he was pondering on what to say in return. Following a soft sigh, as he ran his hand through his own hair for a moment.

"If you are unsure about going on a date with him, then you should be honest with him. It wouldn't be fair or nice for you to string him along." Now leaning off the counter to finish setting the table.

Another pause as he looked over his shoulder to her. "Be true to yourself, Cadaria. For trying to do otherwise is not how one should live." A smile to her as he was merely offering her some advise on her problem.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-19 00:02 EST
She listened and nodded along. She knew he was right. "I know your right." She would be truthful, she had no other choice. It wasnt a good diea, it wasnt nice either to string Vance along when there was no hope for anything more. "Guess when he shows up I'll just have to tell him. " It was better that way. She fixed herself a plate of food, since she would be cancling her dinner plans she might as well eat. "Thanks, for the advice."

Shed just have to tell Vacne she was unsure not the full truth. Yeah saying. ' Any way Vance I can't date you I have this huge crush on another guy. Who happens to be my boss...'

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-19 00:06 EST
When Vance showed up right on time dressed very nciely she was a bit glad she handt changed, and gone through with it. He looked at her for a long moment ebfore she stepped out in to the cold with no jacket. She expalined to him, that she was unsure about going on a date and that she was sorry for misleading him. He seemed to understand when she told him her abridged hsitoryw ith dating. He agreeed to let ehr come to him and then left.

She went inside and leaned hard upon the door after she closed it. Then off to the kitchen she went to clean.Cleaing always helped that and her usual routine of a work out, which she hadnt done yet. But cleaning would have to do.

Drake Jones

After finishing dinner, he looked up to the knock on the door as he watched Cadaria move off to answer it. He would in trun, rise to start cleaning the table off, and by the time she returned. She would find him already starting on the dishes. Helping her by drying and putting them up.

"Not that it is any of my business, but what is the real reason you didn't want to go on a date with this Vance person?" Leaning back on the table, as he crossed his arms over his chest. Head tilted slightly to one side as he was guessing the reason was the recent attack.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-19 23:34 EST
She washed he dried and she hummed. Trying to get the look Vance gave ehr out of her head. He'd been hurt, but she'd done the right thing. Maybe it would be better if they were just friends, that way he woudlnt get hurt by the truth.

The question stopped her as she tidyed the table and floor and anything else. "The real reason?" She had been unsur e about it.Vance seemed like a nice enough guy, who just happened to be a vampire. There was the whole angel assassin thing, she wasnt sure she wanted anyone else mixed up with that. Then of coarse there was the whole she liked someone else thing. That tended to make going on dates a little hard.

" I wasnt sure about it. He seems like a nice guy. I havent really known him that long, though we've been neighbors a while. It might have been a bit soon for a date. Also angel assassins on the loose. Its bad enough they are after you, I don't want anyone getting hurt. "Those were part truths atleast. Of corse while she spoke her mind was saying. 'Because I wish it was you, not him..' But she wasn't about to say that. "I havent had many relationships, with anyone mortal or immortal. Things don't tend to end well. And honestly." She sat down. " I don't know him well enough, I am not a very..refined woman. formal dates arent my thing." She sighed.. " And I like .." She almost said it outloud but shut her mouth. "To know someone a bit better.."She filled in with soft shrug.

Drake Jones

Date: 2010-11-19 23:47 EST
He nodded lightly to her words as he sat down at the table to removed his boots, only to look over to her at the brief pause in her explination. Setting his boots to the side now, as he waitted for her to finish. He then moved to stand up again.

"You let me worry about the ones after you. Remember what I said a moment ago. Be true to yourself, and whoever it is that you like and would like to get to know better.. Don't hesitate to tell them." Moving to set his boots with his cloak.

Looking over his shoulder towards her. "You never know what tomorrow will hold. Live in the now and if need be seize control of it." Now turning to head towards the stairs.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-20 00:01 EST
Her brows perked to him . " I can't just let you worry about them. They are my enemies.. and I want to help.. somehow. " She nodded softly to being true to herself. " Tell them.." She couldn't do that. Though she wished she could. "Carpe Diem.." Was the basis of what he had just said, to live in the moment, the now, seize the moment. But she couldnt do that about who she liked. She watched him go upstairs and after he was in his room she went up herself. She closed the door of the rooms he was staying in and leaned against it.

"Tell them, sure...that always ends nicely..." She sighed, and inched down till she sat upon the floor. She got up eventually changed in to her pjs and streched out, in her usual nightly routine. As long as she was going to stay here she might as well get a little comfortable. But she missed her apartment. Though shed brought most of her things with her. She didnt own that much stuff. She kept things rather light.

She sat there on the floor and staried at the grain of the wood under the nice little oval rug. She couldnt very wel tell him,no.Nor could she try and date someone else. She just had to find her focus in her work.Though till the angel threat was gone her work was all in his house, near him and his things... "Oh bloody hell..I am screwed. "

Come morning, Drake had decided to finally stay home to rest up as well as allow himself to relax mentally. So after a very light breakfest, he would be found in the living room of the manor. Eyes closed as he was sitting at his piano, which had been a gift from a friend.

He was playing a few softer and slower melodies on it, as he was lost in the music at the moment. So if anyone were to walk in on him playing, he wouldn't know that they were there unless they were to say something. He wasn't singing as he played. Oh he could sing when the mood struck him, but that wasn't the case now.

Cadaria

She woke the next day, long before dawn.No light came throught he winodw. But she knew what had woken her. She sat up in bed and ran her fingers through ehr hair then down over the top of her left wing. The dream again, the waking nightmare. She had muffled her blody scream in to her pillow and hoped she wouldnt wake Drake.

The dream before the nightmare had been nice, though she knew it wrong to dream about him. "Better than the nightmares."She muttered and rose to her feet, her wings gone again as she moved to strech. It culd have ben worse she could have woken screaming his name..She was sure shed muttered it in hersleep a few times.

She sat on the floor after her long slow strech. He hadnt come running, so he was either so knocked out dead alseep or he wasnt even there in the manor.Either guess could be right. She didnt want to check, she was just sit there and think.

Luca was coming, she knew that. Dominic had been a pawn, someone she would have wipped outherself if she had the power. She looked to her balled fist and opened it letting a litle flicker of magic race across her fingers. It didnt do much, it lit up the room for a moment then was gone. Her holy magics worked well onc reatues of darkness, those who fed on rhydins innocense. If it had any left...

She used it to defend herself before. Her healing magics were at their best, she could ehal almost anyone, or anything. Her own quick healing powers had lessend some. The cuts from the glass had harmed ehr more than they should have, but then it had been an angel attack. Maybe it was all connected.

"Some how someway, I will get back what I have lost." She rose to her feet and went to change for the day as the first glimmer of sun started to show in eastern sky. She woudl get her powers back,a nd her memeories, some how she would rememer who she had been before she had been a angel.

Once she was washed up and dressed she headed down stairs, to put on some coffee and think about what to make for breakfast. She heard the music before she saw him at the piano. She watched him sielntly, then left him to play to go fix some food for her self. She didnt know he was so musical, it had ehr missing a few things she hadnt brought with her. She poured a mug of coffee and stayed hidden away in the ktichen.

Drake Jones

Date: 2010-11-23 14:15 EST
Drake openned his eyes, before looking over his shoulder. Just in time to see Cadaria retreating towards the kitchen. He chuckled softly as he contineud to play for a few more moments, then lowered the lid back over the keys. He then moved to stand up to join her in the kitchen.

"You could of stayed and listened to me play. I wouldn't of minded, or am I this person that you like?" Teasing her on that as he moved to get himself another cup of coffee. Only to turn and lean back on the counter as he took a sip.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-23 23:06 EST
She looked down at the coffee in her hand then to him as he came in to the kitchen. "I didnt want to intrupt your playing." She took a long sip of coffee to avoid looking at him after he said thsoe last few words. "You play very well." She had seen his room full of different muscial items. And that loevly piano. He didt seem to be the musical type ont he outside, but he had the soul of a muscian.

She wasnt really sure what to do today. The manor was clean, the outside as well. The room were tidy and dust free. She really had nothing to do.She missed her students, and ehr second job. But then she was hoping thats oon shed be too busy to have her mind wander. She would need to stop by the RoseVine to grab her mail as she was sure Vance wouldnt be dropping by ehre with it again, after she shot him down. She also was going to grab the last of her things.Maybe Mr. Gilbert would give her , some of the rent back. But she doubted it.

"So any thing you need me to do for you today?" She eneded to do soemthing, so she wouldnt reveal her secret.

Drake Jones

Date: 2010-11-24 17:25 EST
He chuckled softly as she darted around his question, but respected her right to have her secrets. So he wouldn't press her to answer him. "Actually I do have something for you to help me with. When you are done eatting. I'll show you what to do incase I am not here." Taking another sip of the coffee.

Once she was done eatting, and had taken her plate to the sink. He would set his cup in the sink as well. He then moved from the kitchen, and lead her down the hallway to where Icer's room was at. Once inside, he would show her how to feed the dragon, as well as how to read the moniter.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-11-24 23:42 EST
She finsihed her food and followed him. She walked gently in to the dragons room. She looked at the moniter and nodded along as Drake told her how to read it and what to look for. Then she went to go and get the plate of meat shed seen in the fridge.

She brought the plate upstairs. "Here we go." Shed never fed a dragon, never cared for any creature besides a few stray cats now and again. She would let Drake show her the ropes, then try it herself once he said she could.

Hard work never bothered her. Not even working two very different jobs in the same day. It was dark out when she got to the small house not that far from her old messy apartment closer to Drakes house which made her think of him again .And that kiss at the inn. It had gravly embrassed her. There lived one of her clients. She knocked on the door and it opened a small man stood there or he looked like a small man. He was in fact a hobbit. A halfling, and he was just a boy. He lived with his parents who worked late night on the docks. He went to school in Rhydin, but needed some extra help.

"Evein Miss Cadaria." He greeted her with a wide smile. "Rufis," she nodded to him and entered. The house was normal sized so she didnt have to duck but she was quick to sit down.

Rufis closed the door and took a seat across from her. Cadaira sat on the floor while he sat in a chair. "So we left off.. here."She opened a book and pointed and he nodded.

The lessons began where they left off. She had missed her students. Rufis was the only one back to classes. The others were on long hoildays. Rhydin holidays lasted in till January or late Feburary sometimes

~~

"Night Miss Cadaria." She slid her books in to her bag and nodded to him. "Night Rufis, study alright, your test is in four days." He nodded happily and closed the door. She shook her head. And slid her jacket over her arms. It was midnight now,and she had many blocks to walk home. Being out at night always made her edgy. She knew Rhydin had its dangers. But she was armed, who wasnt in this town?

She walked quickly and quietly away from the little house back towards home.Which was Drakes hosue she had o remind herself as she started to ehad towards the RoseVine Apartments. That studio apartment was still a mess from angels looking for her locket. She passed sleeping saliors, drunks and vagabons. The streets were often home to them. Rhydins treets were home to some more dangerous things too.

She thought about him again. Though she swore to herself she wouldnt. He was her boss, her new empoyler. She shoudlnt think about him that way. Her dreams had been filled with him since that first day. He was a good guy, truly.

And then that kiss at the inn. What was that about?

That was hard to come by in Rhydin a good man. Anywhere for that matter. But he didnt show any interest, but he was a busy man then too. That was untill that kiss, was it jsut to make her think he liked her? Or did he like her that way? Or had he wnated to embrass the hell out of her? But why would anyone show interest in her? But it would be nice too.. A scream jolted her from her little day dream. She looked around carefully. Maybe it hadnt been a scream maybe it had been some cats fighting. She moved on quicker.

"I told ya not a drop of coin on her." A male voice came echoing down the street. "Ya worthless.." Another voice. "Lets go find some fun on the docks." Another. Cadaria stopped they were walking towards her just around the bend. She looked around, alley ways, and short buildings, she could maybe get on to a roof top. She could go back the way she came, down another road. She looked back. She could see their shadows now the one lamp there casting them out. She turned quickly.

She didnt want to mess with anyone, or anyone to mess with her. She could hold her own in a fight, but would rather not have to fight. So she made her way briskly back the way she had come. Shed had her fair share of fights, those who corssed her path in such a matter didnt live to tell the tale, even if they were mortal. She still ahd soem powers over are Dom had cleaned ehr clock but he was an angel these were thugs.

"Hey look!"She heard one of the three call. "Where ya goin sweet thin!?" Another called, and she heard them give chase. Robbers and theives, she knew those types well. Shed dispatched a few lurking about.

She dashed around the corner down another street. She could still hear them behind her. "Oh come on sugar, don't be like that."She looked back, two gave chase still, one darted down a side street. They were going to try to cut her off. She couldnt go back to Rufis' house, and she couldnt get to her apartment, not that that messy palce woudl do her any good , and she didnt want them following her there. Innocent people lived there.

She darted down a side street in to the shadows. She heard them coming and heard them run by.

"Whered she go?" "You lost her?!" The one that had taken the short cut called. She listened as they looked around for her. She darted down another street and found herself at the far side of his house.Drakes mansion. " Oh ... great.." She had ment to go to ehr apratment clean it up talk to Mr. Gilbert move out. She was basically living in his house.. But now she wouldnt be able to get inside , not through the front door.

"I think she went this way!" She heard their voices echoed down towards her.

These three were idiots. She thought about merely facing them and giving them what for. But she didnt really want to fight with three guys. So she edged along the side of the mansion. There on the side there was an old lattice.Where flowers may have once climbed. Now it was bare, she have to take care of that another day. Put in some nice roses. But right now it amde a perfect ladder. She zipped her jacket and climbed up.

She climbed up till she found a slightly open window. She felt like some cat burglar for doing this but she pushed the window open more and slipped inside just in time to watch the three men go running down the way shed disappeared. They swore loudly, called and hooted. "Whered ya go?!" "You lost her.. you stupid fools!" They punched at each other and punched the wall and kicked loose cans. A light flashed on in a house next door and they fled. She watched them go.

She let her self breathe. "That was close..." Now she had to ge back down the lattice, and hope he wouldnt come looking after all the noise the three down below had made. It wasnt like she hadnt been in every room of his house by now. She knew the room she was in as well as any other. She shook her head closed the window and ehaded out of that one of many spare rooms and down the hall towards her own.

While Cadaria headed off towards one of her tutoring jobs, Drake had spent his time going through a few paces of what he had learned back in Nosgoth. Mostly to keep himself from getting rusty as he knew the angels that were after her, would one day show up and come for him.

He knew he had placed a larger target on himself the moment that he took the necklace from her. And as time passed since that day, he knew that it had been a choice that he would of eventually made. And while he praticed, his mind went back to that kiss in the inn.

It got him to grin as he took a break, as he moved to have something cooked up till he heard voices outside. So he would make his way through the house to the front door. Flicking the light on before openning the door to look outside.

Seeing the three men running from the manor, got him to quirk a brow before he shut the door. Taking note that Cadaria hadn't gotten back yet..Unless she was forced to find another way to get into the manor. So he turned on a heel to search the rest of the house. " Cadaria?"

Cadaria

Date: 2010-12-23 00:26 EST
She came to a stop as she left the room she had climbed in to. She looked around. She had cleaned this area before. So she found her way back as she usually did slowly. She heard Drake down stairs, the opening of the front door his light footfalls that echoed up to her and then his voice.

"I am here. " She walked down one hall to another.. then down the stairs. Hed note she looked flustered. She ahd run through the streets, and climbed up a lattice througha window after all.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-12-23 23:17 EST
She came down stairs dressed as she had been for the walk home. Bundled up for the cold weather that had settled over Rhydin. She only now took off her gloves and stuff them in the pockets of ehr new long black jacket. She spun the pretty violet scarf off her neck and stuff that in her side bag. Not like he wouldnt have noticed all those things. She hung her bag at the edge of the stairs banister shed pick it back up when she went up stairs, she un-buttoned her jacket and hung it there too.

It was hard for her still to face him and not burst in to a vibrant blush. But her cheeks were already red from her light "jog" and her climb.Good thing she was in execlent shape. Her mind was now constantly on that kiss, she had wanted to kiss him back, she had wanted to kiss him for weeks now. Her plans to go back to her old palce had been put on hold now, with thugs roaming the streets.

Drake Jones

Date: 2010-12-26 20:09 EST
Yet he moved up to her. "You alright?" Softly as he looked her over when she came downstairs to where he was at. His tone hinting that he had seen the thugs outside, and was a touched worried that she had been bothered by them.

Taking her things from her and set them on the table in the kitchen. To get her to focus on him and to answer him. As he would hunt those thugs down if they had hurt her. Even if he hadn't voiced it to her as of yet.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-12-26 22:50 EST
She watched him as he took her things and laid them on the table. He was trying to get her to focus. "I'm fine." The thugs had seen her but not closely enough for her to worry and they enver got close to her. She relized he must have seen the thugs and maybe hed been worried about her. " I am used to Rhydins ruffians.." Shed never run from a fight before, but times wee different now.

"I think I'll make some tea though."She moved throught he kitchen. "Would you like some?"

Drake Jones

Date: 2010-12-27 18:33 EST
He nodded softly to that, before letting her pass. "Sure." Moving to sit down at the table, as he watched her a moment longer. With a smile crossing his lips, before he shook his head lightly. Moving to stand again as he quietly plucked up a towel, before twisting it up and popping her right across her rear.

He then darted around the table, to see how she would react to him popping her rear end with the towel. Grinning at her when she turned around, as he seemed to be in a sudden playful mood.

Cadaria

Date: 2010-12-28 23:03 EST
Cadaria had been on a steady walk for the kitchen when she felt that towel pop her int he behind she whirled around and looked at him as he darted away around the table. She rubbed her back side softly. "What was that for?"

Her hands on her hips her brows risen at him. Shed never seen him this way, so playfull. She eyed the towel in his ahnd and now was trying to spy another for her to use.

Drake Jones

Date: 2011-01-02 16:38 EST
He grinned at her. "Would you prefer that I use my hand instead? As that can be arranged." Slowly moving around the table towards her while she looked around. And when he was close enough. He snapped the towel at her again.

Actually having fun as he was waitting for the moment she lowered her guard, to allow him within range to catch her in his arms. Where he would smirk down at her with an I caught you smirk on his lips.

Cadaria

Date: 2011-01-02 23:13 EST
She darted around the table and reached for the towel that normally hung on the back of the door. But there was nothing there. Her brows rose at his question, "your quite bold." She kept him at arms lenght. There was no towel in sight, as he snapped the one he had at her again she reached for it. If she couldnt find her own to use against him shed try to steal that one.

He seemed to be enjoying him self, and honestly it was nice to see him relaxed after so long of being so worn out and busy.

Drake Jones

Date: 2011-01-03 22:57 EST
He let her catch the towel, so he could use it to try and pull her closer. "Would you prefer it if I wasn't bold?" Winking at her as he wasn't going to give up till he caught her in his arms. Even if he had to chase her all over the house.

So the tug of war over the towel would begin. Who would win out? Cadaria or Drake?

Cadaria

Date: 2011-01-03 23:14 EST
She tugged back on the towel not to be out done. Even if he was physically stronger than she was. She wasnt giving up. She pondered the question and gave a tug. "Then you wouldnt be you."

She tuggedon the towel again more than likely the towel would rip in two and shed be left running away from him.

Or shed end up in his arms as she was sliding on the floor as it was to keep the towel in her hands.

Drake Jones

Date: 2011-01-05 21:59 EST
He smiled at her as he suddenly let go of the towel the next time she tugged on it. Only for him to shift quickly to catch her before she hit the floor, allowing him to craddle her in his arms. As he lifted her up with a sly smirk down at her.

"Look what I caught. A fallen angel." He knew it was a very bad joke, as he wattied for her reaction to it.

Cadaria

Date: 2011-01-05 23:22 EST
She was caught in his arms instead of landing on the floor. "Yes you have caught me."She shook her head at him, the joke was bad but she smiled at him any how. She tapped his nose softly then with the towel still in her hands she got hima good whack on his rear. "And now were even."

Cadaria

Date: 2011-01-06 23:48 EST
After days of avoiding it she went to her apartment again. She had seen the mess there, and so had Drake. It was hard not to think about that night at the inn. That kiss that lingered in her head. Shed come here right after and found Drake waiting for her.

She left the inn in all haste trying to think of where she would go to cool down. How she could ge away from telling him just how she felt.

And when she got there, she would find of all people leaning against her door. Drake was there, and looked up when she arrived. " Hey.." Softly as he leaned off of it and pulled back the hood. She was shocked to see him there at her old place. "Hi..." The door to her apartment was closed and lcoked and the upper floor was quiet. She didnt know what to say to him.

He smiled as he moved towards her. " Are you..upset about what happened at the inn? " Softly as he came to a stop a few feet from her.

"No.."She wasnt upset, shed been a little embarssed but not upset. She looked down the hall, then back to him. "I wasnt upset.."]She stepped towards him and then softly around him to unlock the door. She pushe dit open and went inside, " Come in.. please.."She hit the lights. It looked like a tonator had been through the room, her once lovely table and couch was now hardly anything, her bed though free of sheets and pillows was torn a part.. nothing seemed to remain. She was expecting this..

He nodded softly as he turned to follow her inside and looked around. " Someone has been in here. " Not that she needed him to point that out.

She pressed on through the rubble, oddly glad to have all her things are his place. Shed have to come back and clean this huge mess up. But now she moved for the far wall. "Angels.. They came in looking for the necklace, tore my place up too."She pressed her hand to the wall. "Hopefully what I came for is still here..." He nodded as he looked around carefully, as he moved to keep within arm's reach of her.

She would have normally offered him something to drink and maybe they would a have sat and talked about the inn, thing at her now ruined table. But now she just closed her eyes and focused, where she pressed her hand a little door opened. "Oh good, still here.."She pulled out her elven lyre, and small lap harp along with a coffee mug. All three things went in to her bag. Then she turned to look at him. "I was surpised...shocked.. and a little embarassed.."She admitted now.

His brows rose to the harp and lyre. " You play? " He then looked away at her confession. " You could of kissed me back. " Glancing to her again.

"Yes I play, these" She patted her bag."And the piano.." She glanced to him, she could also sing.. but he likely had heard her doing that in his house. "I wanted.. to.. "She blushed, now really wishing the angels hadnt trashed her place she could have sat down.. but as it was she stood.

"You have no idea.."She shook her head. He nodded lightly as he turned to head for the door. " We should head back..Vince might show up..and see you with me. "

"Vance.. and hes not speaking to me any more. As it is I havent been home, well back here in weeks..I was planning on just letting Mr.Gilbert rent it back out, but first I'll have to come back and clean it up..." He nodded to that, as he openned the door for her. " Either way.. we should head back. " Motioning for her to slip out first.

She shifted back through the rubble. And out the door. She wondered if it was worth locking the door. She glanced to Drake again, she wanted to confess her feeling right then and there but she didnt. He shut the door and moved to follow her out, before turning to head towards the manor. And once they were far enough away. He came to a stop.

She walked along with him down the hall down the stairs and out of the RoseVine apartments. The streets were quiet and cold and she buddled her hands in to her pockets. He watched as she continued to walk, as he would wait till she noticed he wasn't walking beside her. Not that he minded, it was a nice view.

She stopped suddenly noticing he was not beside her she looked back at him. Her brows rose as she took the ten steps back to him. "Not going back to the manor?"Thinking perhaps he had something else to do. He shook his head. "I have some business tonight, you go on. I'll be home later." She nodded to that she wanted to stop him as he turned and wlaked back the way they had come. But she just watched him go. "I am such a fool."

She shook her head at the memory and pushe dopent he door to ehr old place, what she saw amazed her, it was empty no broken chairs or table, nothing but empty space.

"Miss Naedda " She turned and looked to see Mr. Gilbert standing there. "Did you leave something behind?" She shook her head, "No I thought I did.." He looked to her. "I was going to mail this to you but."He handed her a envelope. "Mr. Jones explained everything, with you no longer living here I dont feel its right to keep this money. The apartment will be rented out to a new tenate. "

Cadaria blinked, Drake had seen Mr. Gilbert? Had he also cleaned her once messy apartment? "Thank you.."She looked down at the envelope stuffed with money. She gave over her key and then Mr. Gilbert went on his way. Cadaria shook her head, shed have a talk with Drake about this.

She said he goodbyes to the studio that was once hers and headed out of the RoseVine Apartments for the last time.

Balance wasnt the issue, not was timing or speed. She had the stenght to hold the blade as well. Cadaria didnt call her self a fighter. Not really. She had a few daggers, not much more. But this was a barrowed sword. It was likely of elven make being as light as it was in her hands. It was slightly curved, and very light weight.

She had found it in one of Drakes many rooms. She figured he wouldnt mind it she barrowed it. ANgels would be coming, and amoung their skills besides magic was sword play, Luca was known to hold a very nice sword indeed, known for slicing in half demons, witches, and angels who had fallen from grace as she had.

She would need to study up on anything she could. Luca was coming. But sword play had never been a strong suit. She could tosse dagger, twril short swords, bloack and parry with ease. But Luca was a trained fighter and she was.. well lacking skills. She sighed and shetahed the sword again. She then padded downt he hallway and put it back where she found it.

With the manor clean, tidy and well ekpt she had nothing to do. She rubbed her arms idly. If Luca came bareing not only his magic but the sword he was said to carry shed be dead. He wouldnt need magic or a sword to kill her through she knew that much. She padded back towards her room.

She looked at the daggers she had, from simple to elven, to one shed found, that looked like something awitch would use in a ritual. Mosts he kept only beacuse she might need them, she kept on in her bag at all times, and one close on her night stand. The others all had their proper place which they were being returned to now.

Once that was done she sat on the floor her journal open. It had been days sicne shed written anything. Not since the kiss at the inn, or rather the day after.

Icer was home now, with her dragon kin. And the manor was so quiet. No more visits. She flipped to and blank page. She didnt write there only drew slow curly lines, curving along the edge and top of the page. It was a dance of lines. She sighed and closed the journal returning it to its place in the nightstand dawer She eyed her even lyre and lap harp, but wasnt much in the musical mood.

She lay back on the floor looking up at the ceiling. She had ment to ask Drake about what he had said to Mr. Gilbert, or if he had cleaned her angel busted apartment. It would have a new owner by now. She lay there starring up.

She had her rent back at least, a few hundred dollars. Shed keep it all for a rainy day. She didnt buy her self much, a new jacket this past winter, a scarf. and gloves as she had none. But she had meant to be some how repaying Drake for letting her live here. Sure she cooked, cleaned kept the manor looking nice. But she still felt like she was some how usuing him. His niceness. Maybe she should look for her own place, not that she had the money for anything besides a small studio apartment.

She sighed and lay there wiggling her toes.

So Tired of Being bored and having nothing left to do.. she would set off in asking of a favor.

It would be more than a simple favor, Iy would be a huge under taking. It likely wasnt her best idea. They had little time. But if myth and legend was true there was no time to be timid. The myth or legend was that Luca not only had power, magical and physical. But he carried a wicked swrd known for chopping down those whod fallen from grace. Cadaria had never seen this sword of myth and legend. But shed heard about it enough.

If Luca came, or when he came. She needed to be ready. She could never best him magically, and the idea of over powering hm physically was just crazy. But if he indeeddhere. But there was an issue. She owned only daggers, and had no sword skills.

There came in the favor. She was going to ask Drake tot ain her, she knew he had knowledge of swords and how to fight with them. He had a wide arry of weapons here int he manor shed seent hem, all lokced up or safe form hands who shouldnt use them.

He would likely say no. She had no skills save the few with her daggers, hed have to train her hard and fast. But what other choice did she have? Running away was not an option not with Drakes life at risk.

So now after dressing in her dubbed training clothes and padded down the hallway for his room. His door was open but she didnt just walk in she stood beside it and knocke don the frame twice. "Drake?"

Drake Jones

Drake knew that Luca would be coming one of these days, and was spending his free time to focus his mind to the fight that was coming. Sitting in the middle of his room on the floor, with one of his swords resting across his lap. As well resting across the palms of his hands, before his eyes slowly opened to hearing the knock to his door, and Cadaria's voice.

Looking over his shoulder to her with a tilt of his head. "Something wrong?" Shifting the sword to one hand as he stood up, then laying it on the nearby table. He then turned his attention to her, while clasping his hands behind his back.

Cadaria

Date: 2011-01-26 23:17 EST
"No, nothings wrong."She gazed to him. Wondering if she should ask for her favor?Would he say no?Or maybe would he relaize she had a huge stake in this.More than her freedom and her life.

"I need to ask a favor, it will be a huge under taking. But please don't say no." She could easily explain all the reasons why she needed to know how to fight for this up coming, dooms day. But she figured shed ask the favor first. "Luca is coming, sooner or later, maybe alone, maybe not. And I can kinda hold my own, but I was wondering if you would train me. I am no swordsmen.. woman,no great fighter. And the angles have more power than me, I want to be able to hold my own." Before being killed, her mind said but she did not.

"Would you train me..?"

Drake Jones

Date: 2011-01-31 16:37 EST
His brows rose to her wishing to ask him a favor, and before he could say anything one way or the other. She laid it all out on him, and to a point the reason why. Once she had finished speaking, he would nod lightly, before moving towards her.

"I had a feeling you were going to ask me to either spar with you, or to train you. I do agree that Luca will show up, and if he is bringing others. It would help if we are both ready. We'll start in the morning." A smile as she had gotten her wish granted.

Cadaria

Date: 2011-01-31 23:07 EST
She smiled and nodded happily. He had said yes. "Oh good, thank you.."A wider smile and she turned and walked away. Tomorrow could not come soon enough for her.

She had nothing to do now but wait. So back in to her room she went to change in to something more worthy of going out. She couldnt just sit around and stew, no shed go for a walk maybe. So she bundled up and headed back down stairs. Maybe shed check out rhydins fine library, look in to some shopes. She didnt announce that she would leave, but she did leave a note, so not to disturb him again this day.

Drake Jones

Date: 2011-02-08 21:28 EST
The following morning, Drake would knock on the door to her room. "Let me know when you are ready." Said through the door as he headed downstairs to eat a light breakfest, as he looked through the various weapons he had. Picking out one that he figured would be best for her to start with.

He would be sitting down to eat as he waitted for her to come down, and once they both ate something. "We'll start out with the basics." He would lead her to the indoor sparring room. Nothing fancy, as it had a thin layer of padding on the floor and walls to ease falls.

Cadaria

Date: 2011-02-08 23:14 EST
She came down dressed in her dubbed training gear, bare foot as she didnt really know what shoes she would wear. She sat and ate the light breakfast not knowing what to expect. She followed him then in to his sparring room. Shed seen it before, but this visit would be far different from the others. "Basics.."A nod she knew some of the basics, she did live in Rhydin, she knew how to out wit and if needed out fight most any attacker. But as she padded in to the room she began to wonder if she could focus with him against her.

Drake Jones

Date: 2011-02-09 16:33 EST
"Draw the sword I gave you and show me what you already know." Said as he removed his cloak and tossed it to the side. Drawing one of the two swords that he carried, as he shifted into a defencive stance. Waitting for her to start the sparr off so he could gauge what skillls that she already had.

"And don't hold back either." Smirking to her as he waved for her to come at him with everything that she had.

Cadaria

Date: 2011-02-09 23:35 EST
Hed lent her a sword, a nice simple elven sword light weight easy to use. She was no swordsmen.. women. She was better with close range dagger and what little magic she had. But she drew the sword from her belt. This wouldnt be pretty.

She held the sword firmly but not to firmly. It was light weight so she didnt have to think about it much, she looked at his stance. She never been the attacker type, more the defend and running type. She didnt like to fight unless she had to. But she went at him wth all she had, a down ward slash that was short and sloppy.

Drake Jones

Date: 2011-02-13 21:16 EST
He watched her as she held the sword, picking up that she wasn't used to it. As well as picking up that she wasn't used to attacking others as he stepped to the side, while slapping her sword away. Continuing the motion, as he turned to promptly send a light boot towards her rear end.

"Don't act scared. You do that in this upcoming battle, and Luca won't hesitate to kill you." HIs tone soft yet firm at the same time as he waitted for her to regain her balance. Probably wiht a glare shot his way.

Cadaria

Date: 2011-02-13 23:18 EST
She found her footing and rubbed her rear end with her free hand before turning to face him. She eyed him a little but knew he was right. "I don't know what I am doing."She eyed the sword. She wasnt really scared, well maybe a little. She didnt want to hurt him, nor did she want to hurt herself. She took a stance again, regaining her focus. She left her mind focus on what she had to do. "Let me try again.. and again.. until I get these basics down."

She gave him only a moment to agree, before she went in again with a forward slash.

Drake Jones

Date: 2011-02-17 22:57 EST
He smirked to her. " Focus your mind, and allow the sword to become part of your body. Once you are able to do that.. You will be able to master the sword. " Just as he slapped the forward slash to the side.

With his sword snapping around for a slash towards the back of her neck, as he had twisted to the side. Now gauging her ability to react and defend herself. She'd have to learn attack and defence before she would be able to fight against Luca.

Cadaria

Date: 2011-02-17 23:36 EST
She dodged, rolling tot he floor. She coudl defend, or at least evade attack. He was right she had to focus. She felt the sword in her hand. It was apart of her, yes she could focus on that. Shed spent years in Rhydin defending herself with tooth and nail, then dagger before she found her true footing. Shed have to fidn it again with this sword. She was back on her feet quickly, seems she was more used to evading and some light defense than attack.

She went at him again, more focused than before. As he came aorund she stuck out right forward at him. She didnt want to hurt him, but she ahd to get past that. If Luca came tomorrow, shed need to know how to fight, ow to hold him off long enough... long enough for what? She moved her feet thinking ahead. She wasnt a damsel, for Drake to save no... if Luca came shed fight with him... on the same level as him. There would be no middle ground.

Cadaria

From basics they move don well, a progressive start for her. She found her footing more easily. She could strike and slash with out too much hesitiation. Though it was hard still, she didn't like the idea of possibily hurting him.

She could dodge, deflect , and advance with no issues at all. Attacking, and counter attack, not being too distracted by the fact that it was Drake she fought againts.

She watche dhim often, learned from what he did, how he moves and where he placed his feet. She also learned not to watch his eyes, for even if his eyes moved here or there, his attacks never followed where his eyes did. He was good at deception.

At the end of every sessions he had bruises and some little cuts, and with every passinf session she had scored a few more hits on him, but she never drew blood.

The end of every session left her soked in sweat, hungry ,sore and tired. But it was all needed.

From the first session, to the next time flowed and she leaned well. When she wasnt practicing by hersefl, or sparing with Drake she read as much as she could on sword play.

One session turned to two, two to three, three to six...One week, two weeks, three weeks. They all assed like nothing. Learning to fight, working around the manor. She still felt unsure about taking up students, she did help some through the mail.

There was still no sign of any angels.. No Luca.. nothing.

She wasnt going to stop training, she wnated to be ready.. she needed to be.

Drake Jones

He noted that she was getting better and better as each day passed, with him adding in trainning to get her to use her speed to her advantage. With him ending each session to get her to stretch out with him working the knots out of her body. Followed by showing her exercises to help her to gain flexiblity.

He would also change what they happened to be eatting on the days that they trained. Light foods in the morning with herbal tea, followed by a light lunch during the middle of the day with water. At the end of each day would be a hearty meal, to heal to regain and build energy for a good night's rest.

Their days would continue to go on in this manner till he sensed Luca and how ever many arch angels he would be bringing with him. He was expecting the worst in this fight, and even if it was a smaller number. The fight would more than likely take place within the house, which gave them a slight atvantage.

Cadaria

Better yes, but with every day she found a new place that was sore. All in the greatness sof learning she told herself.Though this tye of learning was far more physical than she was used to. Drake told her often she was getting better and that made her spirits sore. She liked the ends of the sessions, streching out, working out the kinks, and new flexiblity. Though it was hard not to blush when he worked out the kinks in her shoudlers or back.

Harder still to hlep him get all the kinks out of his own back.

She got used to the new menu, she was an ease at that.Cooking new food and a diet fit for battle were no issue for her. Sword play would become like second nature she hoped before Luca came. Hed bring friends, they wouldnt all come at once... no theyd time their attacks. Luca was ther general and while eh was willing to die, he would likey let some others die first.

There would be no teeling who he brought with him or when they would come. She had to hope with every passing session that she would be good enough to stand with Drake and fight. To be brave.

At the end of every night when she sat alone in her room she wrote a short entry in her journal of what she had learned and what she knew she needed to improve upon. That and her ever growing feelings for him. Often she couldnt sleep, not for lack of being tired or wore out.For thsoe she was.. surely wore out.

But shed sometimes look out her window to the moon or the clouds and imagine what it would be like to just tell Drake how she felt. She winced at the idea of Luca hurting Drake or worse still killing him. She clentched her fist ... no...

No she wouldnt let that happen she would help defeat Luca.. she wouldnt let this go on. It was her life.. and she wanted to live it...
