The Red Dragon Inn was very kind to her, so kind that she'd not left her room the entire first day. Of course that could have been due to the fact of needing rest after everything her mind and body had been through. So when she finally woke up, wow did she hurt! Every muscle seemed to ache. Muscles she didn't even know she had were sore, if it was at all possible, her hair even hurt! If this wasn't the right place, it didnt matter...there was no way she could plane jump again. There was too much of a strain on her body as a whole, it just wasn't possible. Sammy could only hope this was the right place and time. Gavilean had promised her Arch was alive. He said he was in Westridge. Could it truly be possible that he lived?

]

{{Eternity, you've been my rock through all of this.}}

]

Sammy couldn't help but laugh, {{What would I do without you?}}

]

{{Now now, if you had...we wouldn't be home now would we?}}

]

{{I do not snore!}}

]

"Magical longswords are HIGHLY overrated!" Samleanus slammed the sword back into it's scabbard, the ringing of metal on metal vibrated throughout the room. As soon as she quietly closed the door behind her, the Queen of Mana became guarded once more...still not confident of her location as she descended the stairs into the inn.

Everyone within the room could have cared less upon her entrance, which was just the way she wanted it. The idea of blending was what she had in mind to begin wtih. But when Gavilean didn't show up nor Xeno the anxiety levels began to soar. ~Perhaps I have been deceived? I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up so high. Maybe I should just go to Westridge itself? See exactly what is going on. If this is the Gavilean I am starting to remember, then he wouldn't do this to me. We are friends, have been for years.~ The queen's mind swirled with different images and emotions all at once, so much so that she had to close her eyes to keep from spiraling out of control. ~Get yourself under control Samleanus! This will not do!~ After a couple more minutes, her amber eyes snapped open and to the door she strode. Her black cloak flowing out behind her, reveiling for the first time to those within the inn, exactly who she was. It showed her form fitting black leather armor, which was covered in a deep ebony shade of elfin chain mail. So intricately made that when she walked not a sound could be heard.

As she walked out of the inn, the patrons could hear her saying aloud, "I need a horse, a fast one please. I've a long way to go and I plan on getting there in the shortest amount of time."

Shortly there after the hoof beats could be heard galloping away, Samleanus had made a decision. No more waiting around, she was going to Westridge.

Yes, going to Westridge was the way to go! Well if the wagon load full of barrels hadn't been wrecked in the middle of the street. The air smelled of beer and the street was littered with shards and splinters of wood. It was an absolute mess. Samleanus was BEYOND irritated with this entire situation. Why did it seem that every single time she turned around, there was some sort of barrcade in her way. The drow queen threw her hands up in the air with total disgust. This wondeful action would of course scare the crap out of her horse, which now reared fully into the air almost throwing her from the saddle. Ok so half way out of the saddle, with one foot stuck in the stirrup and her cloak wedged between the saddle in the saddle pad, while her mount now nervously pranced about...threatening at any moment to bolt.

"This just isn't my day. Not at all!"

Not the brightest action in the world, the horse now bolted...with the Queen of Mana in a rather dangerous position.

If Eternity could burst out laughing right now the sword would have. Of course given the circumstances laughing really wasn't the smart thing to do. The scabbard that held the intelligent longsword was now, even as we speak, scrapping the ground and was deadly close to being lost from the unusal circumstances that had landed Sammy in her current position.

]

{{Sure thing, no problem! Don't you think I would stop if I could? This stupid horse won't stop.}}

]

{{Now there's a great idea! Why didn't I think of that! Eternity I don't have time for this!}} Her mental tone dripping with sarcasm.

]

{{Well you can stop now! Holy shit!}} Her foot was wedged in so tight by this time, the pain started to shoot up her calf and right into her hip.

"Little help please. Come on horse, stop." She did her best to pull on the reins, but to no avail would the beast stop. Between the wagon and her flinging of the hands, this poor animal thought a horde of dragons was after it.

]

{{I'll fall and break my neck if I let go.}}

]

{{I'm so glad you agree. I can't hold on much longer.}}

]

{{Can't, cloak is in the way.}}

Not 30 seconds after that, the cloak began to tear...the position was such that when it finally ripped off, Sammy fell from the horse. Or more so was drug, barely missed by trampling feet...rolled a few feet and finally some nice *soft* stone steps stopped her wild ride. Where she ended up, she had no clue, because the wonderful blackness of oblivion engulfed her. Her last fleeting thought, "Stupid horse."

A horse galloped down the wide dirt rode that led to Rhy'Din from the west; a cloud of dust rose in the summer heat and slowly settled long after the destrier had passed.

Sir Arch Fane was in a hurry to get from Westridge to King Gavilean's home in Rhy'Din. There would be a council meeting the following morning and he had to check the security of the Starfare's mansion and assign guards to the Queen's protection.

Keen eyes trained for warfare missed little, and he had seen a body in the road well before reaching it. He pulled his horse to a halt and dismounted.

He could see that it was a woman. He didn't know if she had fallen from a horse or attacked on the road. Just what he needed - something to slow him down when he was in a hurry.

The Knight Marshall of Westridge knelt down and gentle turned the woman over into his arms.

His eyes went wide with shock.

"Sammy. . ."

He stared down upon the unconscious woman - his wife.

The nice thing about being in total darkness is that fact that one does not feel any pain. Which at this point and time was a VERY good thing. However, in a weird twist of fate her husband was the one that had found her along the side of the road. Too bad she couldn't open her amber eyes so that way she could see him. The very thing that had kept her going all this time. To find her husband. Now he held her in his arms and she couldn't even enjoy it.

For what must have seemed forever to him, Sammy's eyes fluttered just a little. Enough for him to know that she was alive.

Not knowing who had their hands on her, Sammy tried to push away. Her hand was on the hilt of Eternity, doing what she could to defend herself. Which of course, it did no good since she couldn't even open her eyes fully, given her current condition.

His hand moved to her wrist and gently pulled her hand from her sword, a sword he know only too well. He knew it would sense his presence, and know him for who he is.

"Sammy, you're coming with me. You're safe now." He didn't know if she could hear him or not, but he knew the best place to take her would be to the home of the Starfares.

He put her on his horse and held her then while he mounted, then nestled her in his arms as they rode. He saw her horse on the side of the road and he whistled for it, and it followed them back to the city.

All the while he held her close to himself, his cheek against her forehead, thankful to have his wife in his arms once again.

Nothing made sense to Sammy, nothing at all. If she had been in her right mind, she would have felt his hand on hers. She would have been aware of being placed on her husband's horse. But, instead she felt the jarring of the hoofbeats as they seemed to pound up and down the back of her skull. Whoever had taken her hadn't killed her yet.

{{You are such a noob.}} The sound of Eternity's mental voice pounding her from the inside out, causing her to whimper and moan softly. She nuzzled against the softness of the fabric which seemed to be caressing her cheek. The scent reminding her of home, a home she'd not seen in so long. Her children. Her husband. Between the rythum of the hoofbeats that now weren't so horrible and the sweet scent filling her very being...Sammy fell asleep. Not knowing her fell asleep in her husband's loving arms. Not knowing that she'd finally made it home. Her mind so fragile still from the unusal plane hopping she'd endured, it would take time for her to heal. When she would finally awake, she would certainly be in for a big surprise. Once Arch was through convincing her that she wasn't dreaming, that is!

Sir Arch Fane brought his wife to the only place that was close, safe, and where she would get good care - the mansion home of Gavilean and Tera Starfare.

He carried Samleanus into the great foyer and asked for King Gavilean. When he heard that the king had went to Westridge for a few days, he then made another request.

"I must have a room for my wife. Is Queen Tera here? I would request a room and the aid of a healer."

Tera Destre

Date: 2006-09-06 01:01 EST
Tera heard the commotion and ran down the stairs to see what was going on. Her eyes flew open wide when she saw the Knight Marshall with an apparently unconscious woman in his arms. She heard his request and gave the woman a second look only then recognizing her as the Queen she had seen speaking with her husband and Xenograg one night in the Inn a few weeks ago.

She turned to their butler who was still standing off to the side. ?Immediately show Sir Arch and his wife to the Green guest suite and send for Lady Firesong.? As soon as the words were out of her mouth he motioned to a footman who left on the run with the message for the Healer.

She then turned back to the large man with a reassuring smile although it was tempered with concern for his wife. ?I am putting you in our suite that we use for visiting royalty as I do recognize your wife and am sending for the best Healer that I know."

Blackness. It completely engulfed the Queen of Mana, she was now oblvious to her current surroundings. Nothing, not even Eternity could penetrate the inky darkness of Sammy's mind. This did concern her long time companion, but he did nothing. Not yet. She was being held by her husband and the human female in the room seemed to know what she was doing. Impressive, these humans, for some reason Sammy liked them. If they didn't do something soon, then he'd take matters into his own hands...well...blade.

Sir Arch Fane

Date: 2006-09-10 15:41 EST
Sir Arch Fane bowed his head politely, showing respect to the Queen of Westridge.

"I thank you, Your Majesty. We are honored by the accommodations," he said, speaking also for his unconscious wife as he held her in his arms. "We shall await the arrival of Lady Firesong in the suite."

He bowed again and followed the butler to the Green guest suite.

It was a magnificent suite and something that the Immortal Knight was not accustomed to. Whenever he was in the city he would stay in the guardhouse with his men, only venturing into the mansion for the council meetings and at the request of Lord Gavilean.

He lowered Queen Samleanus to the bed and removed her boots and dirtied clothes, then pulled the covers up to her shoulders. Warm, soapy water and a washcloth and towel had been brought to the end table before the butler departed, and he used that to clean his wife's face.

Arch (pronounced "Ark", short for Archimedes) Fane sat on the bed, held her hand, and just looked upon the face of his wife. Sammy had lost none of her beauty since they were last together; in fact, to him she looked more beautiful than ever. He leaned over and kissed her lips.

How would he ever explain all that had happened to him over the last two years?

It would take some time. Of that he was sure.

Then there was the matter of their daughter, Alatariel. He had heard that she was living on a ranch that was several miles outside of town, working as a cook and servant. It was no position for a princess, and perhaps it was time that he should fetch her and bring the family together once more.

The thought almost made him smile.

While he bathed her dirt smeared face, the tingling sensation of the soft cloth brought her into some form of consciousness. She could feel him bathing her face, Sammy even felt his lips touch hers...part of her wanted to scream in fear while the other part wanted this to really, truly be home. She couldn't see her husband, but she could hear the steady breathing, but was this Arch Fane? Could this really be him?

As she tried in vain to reach out in some way, nothing happened. It was like a dark cloud had descended upon her mind, refusing to let her go. She tried so hard a soft whimper actually escaped her lips, before she lasped back into the unconscious depths of her mind.

Destre knew better than to summon her in such a way. Lady Firesong Sunstrike Aldrack Haze had a delicious A-Negative snack before stalking down the street in broad daylight. She kept close to the buildings however at her age and with her powers the sun hardly bothered her in the least. Certainly not enough to stop her from doing what she wanted, when she wanted, where she wanted, however she wanted.

Fire arrived at the mansion with a smirk upon her lips for the male guard. She was dressed in traditional mage robes of a blue so light it matched the color of her eyes. The crystalline beads in her silver waist-length braided hair were all light colors of blue and the only feathers were those of her pure white bond bird scattered among the braids.

?I have been summoned by Destre. Let me in now male.? Her tone was barely civil as she addressed the guard at the gate. Had she any choice she would have shifted form to enter on her own but mage sight showed her the mansion was warded. She had to get him to let her in which only roused her ire further.

Her aura snapped and crackled in hues of red and yellow beneath the surface of her skin as she stood smirking at the male. One small hand lifted as a thought called forth a whirling ball of flames to dance in the air just above her palm. The ?or else? she left said by the fire now hovering in wait for the slightest excuse to be set free upon the guard.

The High Elven warrior dressed in the armor of the Kingdom of Westridge watched the display impassively from his position at the gate. His magical abilities allowed him to sense her power which was greater than he had expected from her appearance until she opened her mouth then her arrogance had him thinking she needed a strong hand on her reins to settle her down. None of this showed on his face though. He was highly trained and had been dealing with royalty and those that considered themselves above the rules of protocol for years.

He could always deflect the ball of flames she was holding but there was no need because the wards Thulin Nel had placed around the mansion and grounds would keep even this Mage and her magic out until she was allowed in. He glanced to the ledger in the gatehouse to see if any visitors were expected that day when she announced she had been summoned.

There was only one name on the list. After reading it keen Elven eyes looked back to the Mage knowing this had to be the Lady on it so he nodded to her and unlocked the gate then stood back to allow her to pass. A second guard that had been standing ready to escort visitors to the doors motioned with a hand for her to proceed him up the path.

Fire was truly angry now. Sparks spit and hissed falling harmlessly to the ground around her as she stalked through the gate hissing at the first guard menacingly then sending a glare at the second that should have had him falling over dead in his tracks. How dare these males keep her from her business. She had been summoned here. This was no social call. She had better things to do than waste her time with Destre?s males.

Closing her hand the flames withdrew back within herself as with head held high she stalked up the walkway to the front doors. Her mage robes gave tantalizing glimpses of skin as she moved rather than actually revealing the voluptuous form they lovingly caressed.

The very correct Butler opened the door before she had to knock as word had been sent ahead. A footman was waiting to escort her to the suite of rooms where the Queen of Mana had been taken by her husband the Knight Marshall of the Kingdom. The guard followed her through the corridors as an escort.

Fire would have laughed or made a snack of the guard at his continued presence but she did owe Destre for several favors in the past not to mention she had already snacked on one of her staff this day. She couldn?t blame the woman for being cautious after all there was a reason she was usually her last resort except when it came to Healing.

She stopped in front of the door to take several deep calming breaths and reached for the Healer inside of her herself forcing the darkness deep beneath the surface. The red and yellow glow of her aura that usually snapped and crackled beneath her skin receding as the Tayladras became what she had come to do for her friend and Ally.

A Healing aura of calming and soothing blues and greens surrounded her to any with mage sight as well as her eyes losing their icy chill to become warmer. Features that were almost Elven themselves relaxed from their habitual smirk into something more pleasing that held concern for one that was injured and needed aide.

The voice that called out as she knocked upon the door held the musical quality of her clan.

?I am the Healer that Destre sent for. I offer ye my services. Might I enter??

As soon as the healer entered the home of the Starfare's, Eternity knew it instantly. The energy of the magic could be felt in the longsword's blade, right up to it's hilt.

{{Let's just hope she can do that job.}} Eternity projected his thought into Arch's mind. One of the few times the magical longsword deemed him worthy enough to such an honor. With Sammy's life on the line, he'd do and try just about anything at this time.

The Immortal Knight stood at the window, his hands behind his back, fingers laced together, and watched and waited.

He prayed that the healer whom Des would provide would be up to the task of aiding a Drow Queen. Still, he had faith in the Starfares.

Sir Arch Fane walked back over the the bed and looked down upon Samleanus. "It will not be long now," he whispered, as much to himself as to Sammy.

Eternity was disgusted with this husband of Sammy's, the healer was at the door asking for entry and he completely ignored her! Typical human. Why she liked them he'd never know.

{{Yes healer, please enter.}} Eternity projected his voice to the entity on the other side of the doorway, he took a chance but nonetheless it was a chance he would take.

Eternity had sensed the presence of the healer before the immortal knight heard the knock upon the door. At the sound of the knock, Sir Arch Fane walked to the door and opened it. If he was surprised at the appearance of the healer, his features did not show it. The typical "all business" expression of the Knight Marshall of Westridge and King of Mana held open the door and bowed his head slightly in greeting.

"You are welcome. Please come in.

"I'm Arch Fane, and on behalf of Queen Samleanus and myself, her husband, I offer you our deepest gratitude for coming here."

He did not base the gratitude upon any success at healing his wife. Simply the willingness to come was sufficient.

The formidable knight closed the door behind her and looked toward the bed. He was a man of few words, and he had already spoken enough.

FireSong

Firesong stalked into the room with a polite nod to the Knight Marshall as she replied to the voice in her mind. ~ I come now. Can ye tell me what I face within? ~

Her gaze moved immediately to the woman upon the bed as she sought out a chair which she brought to the side of it. Seating herself there in a pool of hues of palest blue robes and the soothing chime of crystalline beads one hand reached to take up one of the injured Queen?s in her own.

Before the answer was given her the blues and greens of her aura were already expanding to encompass not only herself but Samleanus as the Drowess lay completely still and unaware of what was happening. Fire would waste no more time in doing what she had come to do. Enough time had already been wasted by Destre?s males in her opinion.

Hard upon the heels of that thought came the realization she had not yet introduced herself to the male now standing silently in the room with them. The Tayledras spared another glance to him as if this was a Queen he must surely be a King which did require the minimum of her name if nothing else. Sheka, but she was tired of the males in Destre?s household messing up her business and wasting her time!

?Lady Firesong Sunstrike Aldrack Haze M?Lord Fane. Tis Destre ye owe gratitude to. I come at her summons to aide ye wife.?

The Healer then immediately turned back as she sent herself seeking outside herself and into Samleanus? body to locate the injuries in order to begin the process of Healing her.

What could be felt by such an adept healer was the obvious. Sammy had 3 broken ribs, multiple bruises, scrapes (from being drug down the road) and a pretty nasty concussion. But one of the most obvious things, regardless of all these various injuries was the sheer exhaustion of her body. Magical energy burned from within her, almost like she was literally burnt out...physically but mostly mentally. Nice combination, which is in the end what caused her present condition.

Sir Arch Fane

Date: 2006-09-28 16:16 EST
The Immortal Knight nodded and said, "Lady Firesong," in acknowledgement of her introduction. He was a man of action and not words, and he felt that nothing more than that was necessary.

He stood back and observed what she was doing with his wife, trusting that she would be successful, or at least, would try her best.

He had already sent for Alatariel, and hoped that she would soon arrive. She needed to once again be at the side of her mother - no matter what the outcome.

{{Obviously, what you face is a human male.}} Even a deaf person could have heard the scorn Eternity used when saying the words human male. {{Please heal her, this is beyond my means, her mind is gone to me.}}

Eternity would have never said those words to Fane, but then again had the healer not shown up, he might have.

~ This male in the room shall not concern me. I can Heal the one ye have chosen. ~ Firesong replied to Eternity before she blocked out everything except the task before her.

The blues and greens moved into Samleanus? unmoving form as she began to chant in her native language the greens taking the lead to repair the physical damage done to her body while the blues formed a soothing background for the Healing to keep her calm.

Each broken bone was carefully pieced back together, perfectly mended with no hint of weakness where the break had been. The bruises she increased the blood flow to take the swelling away leaving behind no discoloration to mark where they had been. The scrapes she speed up the regrowth of healthy skin so that it was as if they had never been.

All the while she ensured that no infection could form or appear later by ruthlessly burning away any errant cells she found that could cause problems.

All of this had taken quite some time and by now The Healer was paler than usual and swaying slightly in her seat but she wasn?t finished yet and would not stop until she had seen to all her patient?s injuries.

There was still the matter of her patient being unconscious to deal with. Fire moved on to examine Samleanus? unconscious mind while still chanting those softly lyrical Healing words in her native language.

What she found there was quite a mess and would take far more time and energy to completely Heal than even she could manage in one sitting. Fire sent the blues seeking the woman?s mind reassuring her that there were people here that loved her and needed her would she only return.

The mental image of the Knight standing at her bedside was uppermost in the pictures she shared with the woman. As she called to her unconscious mind she added the voice that she had been speaking with so the woman would know that male voice was concerned and wanted her to return to them as well.

This was the least invasive way she could bring Samleanus back to them. Fire withdrew her aura from the woman and slumped back in her seat then waited to see if this technique would work for if it didn?t then she would simply go back in and drag the woman?s mind back kicking and screaming if need be for it was obvious to her that there were people here who loved and cared for her.

And Firesong Sunstrike Aldrack Haze didn?t lose battles.

As the healing aura encompassed the drow queen, a soothing calm seemed to envelope her body and mind. Sammy's body responded to the healing touches with ease, accepting each gift bestowed upon her by the one known as Firesong.

Once Firesong started the images into Sammy's mind, she resisted these images pulling as far back as possible. Retreating into a place where she could be hurt no more. Images of pain, death and denial were seen by Firesong as she inserted visions of her husband, Arch Fane while weaving Eternity's voice into her mind's eye. This was a battle of wills now, to accept the images of the healer or to deal with what she'd been shown for the last 2 years. The death of Arch. The destruction of her home plane. Her children torn from her and flung into the abyss of darkness. To couple this with the memory loss of un-anchored plane hopping, these images from Firesong were very hard for Samleanus to believe. She wanted to believe them, so much so that a glimmer of hope dared to surface. Just a tiny little light, dancing about...like a firefly on a hot summer's night. She didn't feel the tears falling down the sides of her face, nor realize she was gasping for breath...or was it trying to grasp a hold of a reality that she'd been searching for? It was easily an hour after being administered by the healing aura of Firesong, before the Queen of Mana opened her amber eyes, screaming out mentally and physically...her equilibrium a shambles as her mind tried to focus and maintain its sanity.

Sir Arch Fane had sat beside Sammy the entire time she remained unconscious. He blamed himself for her condition. He should have been with her all this time.

So when her amber eyes began to open, he was there to comfort and reassure her. His hand went to hers, and he spoke in a soft, comforting voice.

The tortured sound of her screaming subsided as Arch's voice pentrated the *madness* and along with his touch, finally got her to quieten down to gasping sobs. Her voice so full of hope, but with enough sorrow behind them should he deny her what she truly wanted.

Him.

Firesong jerked upright in the chair as the drow queen began to scream both mentally and physically. The sound of distress cutting through the Healer like a sword slicing through flesh. She sought the nearest node carefully testing it before fully tapping into it draw upon it?s energy to add to her own that was waning after having used only it previously.

The blues and greens around her brightened with the new influx of energy that she drew upon smoothly in a steady stream recharging herself rapidly to help Samleanus get through what felt and appeared to be some type of horror, panic, sorrow, and numerous other emotions that were all jumbled together so tightly that even Fire was having trouble sorting them enough to soothe the woman upon the bed.

She made the decision to surround her within the blues and greens once more letting the Healing energy flow around and through the drow queen as Arch would now have the task of coaxing her the rest of the way back to the land of the living. Fire could do this but it wouldn?t be the same as having a beloved one there do so.

Eternity felt the magic of the healer envelope Samleanus once again, the longsword could only pray that the HUMAN MALE would do what needed. At least this female seemed to have a good grasp of reality. Now if his soulmate would just snap out of it and realize they'd finally come back to the right plane. Maybe then she'd level out. It was in the hands of Arch Fane. Well at least he wasn't having to rely on that ex of a blood sucker of hers.

Once Fire had finished the healing that she could do, the immortal knight walked to the side of the bed. The leather of his boots creaked, stretching as he sat on the bed. His left arm was placed on the far side of Sammy so that he was looked down upon her beautiful face. His right hand touched her face. The large hand was more used to the inside of guantlets than to the soft flesh of a lovely face, yet he was amazingly gentle.

"Sammy," he whispered.

Sir Fane brought his face closer and whispered again. "Sammy, it's me. Arch. I'm here with you, my love."

He lowered his mouth to hers and kissed those lips - lips that he hasn't seen or kissed in nearly two years.

The room was quiet, except for Arch's wonderfully soft voice. That voice had put her to sleep with his soothing words on many a night when otherwise Sammy would not have slept.

**"A Lady Firesong helped youi. She is very powerful and a friend of Lord Gavilean and his wife."

He looked at Sammy and smiled, "Yes, King Gavilean is married. He is married to a wonderful woman named Tera. They are very happy."**

"Lady Firesong, yes...her magic." Sammy's voice was but a whisper on the wind by this time. Her body had been ripped from one end back to the other. It would still take some time for all the fragments of her memory to piece itself back together again. "Gav, I saw in the Inn. He told me you were here. I didn't believe him. I thought you were dead. I saw you die. I did. The dragon. One moment you were there, the next. Gone. But, I searched and searched." Her fingers plucking at the bedclothes nervously. "One plane to the next. Gone in the midst of time, I was. Something deep down, didn't want to believe you were gone. So I searched." At this point her voice was closing in on slightly hysterical edge. "But you are alive."

**He leaned down and gave Sammy a kiss. "We'll also be that happy. And our daughter is on her way to come see you. We shall be a family again. This time nothing will separate us."**

"Our daughter?" Her voice sounding a touch confused, her eyes going unfocused for a moment. "Yes, our daughter. No nothing will seperate us. Never again."

As Samleanus awaited her husband's next words, Eternity took in what was happening. He'd not said much since Samleanus had been brought back from where her mind had strayed. He owed the *human* quite a bit and he didn't like it but would live with it. Well, as much as an enchanted sword could *live*. He could still sense FireSong in the room, this female held great magic within her. Samleanus used to have similar magic a long time ago, but not anymore. All she had anymore was her ability to fight and him literally at her side to help keep her alive. He vibrated softly in the scabbard, at least letting her know that he as always was with her. Sammy caressed the hilt of her longsword with the tips of her fingers without even realizing she was doing it. They'd been together for over 200 years and would continue to be that way for 200 more.

The immortal knight helped his wife from the bed and they went to the balcony and sat in the sun. Food was brought to them and they talked. He told her as much as he knew of what had happened since they were last together. How he had bargained The Land for his mortality once more, and how the price paid was his memory.

He told her of how the fates had brought him to Westridge where he was reunited with their daughter, Alatariel. He told her of Thulin and the magic of the mage.

He told her of the strange journey back to the Glade and how he conversed with The Land once again. He was permitted to have his memory return, but this time the cost was immortality. He surmised that The Land had seen into the future and saw this reunion between husband and wife, king and queen.

They had finished talking and the sun was setting when there was a knock on the door.

Alatariel

Alatariel Fane had hidden herself away on a farm, working with horses and doing chores while getting over two instances of heartbreak. She enjoyed the work but was getting restless. She was the daughter of a Knight Marshall and a Queen, and the blood within her was making her restless.

Thus the decision to leave the farm was not a difficult one when word came that her parents had arrived in Rhy'Din. She said her goodbye's to those on the farm and mounted Jewelstar, the horse that King Gavilean had given to her two years earlier. She was now twenty-three years old and had experienced far more of life than she had in the innocent days when she was in Mana with her father, and when she was in Westridge with Lord Gavilean.

She rode into the city and inquired where was the manor of the King and Queen of Westridge. She introduced herself to the guards at the gate, and was given permission to enter under escort.

Alatariel was brought to the room that was provided to her mother and father, and the servant bowed and excused herself.

Ali took a deep breath and knocked upon the door.

"Enter," she heard through the heavy wooden door.

She opened the door and stepped inside and saw her parents standing there hand in hand.

"Mother? Father?"

Tears welled in her eyes and she ran to them.

The words seemed to trip through the folds of her mind as she listend to her husband speak. They'd both encountered and taken so much in the last couple of years while they were apart. So much pain and suffering on both sides. She'd yet to really speak of the details of her ordeal and she knew Arch would go into further detail with her in the days to come. They had all the time in the world to get everything straightened out between them.

Time slipped by and eventually the uneasiness left her limbs as they stood together looking out over the city of Rhydin. The knock on the door surprised Sammy, she wasn't sure who it could be. Perhaps Gav? No, she doubted he would intrude. Arch called out for whoever the visitor was to enter, as the door slowly opened one of the most lovely women she'd ever seen walked into the room.

"Mother? Father?"

Tears welled in her eyes and she ran to them.

Sammy opened her arms to Ali and could feel Arch bracing her so they all wouldn't fall into a tangled heap on the floor. "Oh my darling, sweet daughter," was all Sammy could manage as she held her close while the tears began to fall.

Ali ran to her mother and through herself into her arms, tear flowed from her eyes.

"I . . . I thought I'd never see you again." She drapped her arms around her mother's shoulders. "I'm so sorry. I should never have run off. I should never have left you and father."

Minutes pass and soft words were spoken back and forth - words of forgiveness and comfort and love. Ali felt her father's strong hand upon her back and smiled.

"We are all together again," Ali finally said in a soft voice, nearly afraid to speak the words lest all this happiness would pass as a dream. "We are a family."

Sir Arch Fane

"Yes, we are a family again, Ali," the immortal knight said to his daughter and looked to Sammy with a smile, hoping that she would agree.

"Since we are a family and living here in Rhy'Din, at least for the time being, I suggest we go looking for our own home rather than continue to rely on the hospitalities of Gavilean and Tera Starfare."

He put his arms around them both. "What do you say? Good idea?"

Samleanus

Sammy looked up from embracing their daughter and smiled at her husband, "Yes I think that is a wonderful idea. It's time to get our lives back together again." She and Arch would need to reconnect with one another on so many different levels. So much had happened to them including their children. She'd felt Shalee's touch very briefly. "We need to go to Mana. It's only fair that Ali gets to reconnect with her sisters as well as her parents," she said with a soft smile.

Samleanus

"But we will worry about a family reunion after we get ourselves settled, here in Rhydin. I think I'm ready to move about, I'm still a little shakey but nothing my husband or daugher can't help me with. We have good friends in Gav and I'd like to keep it that way by not intruding on them any further." Sammy nodded to FireSong, she would repay the debt to the healer one day, that was a promise. A life debt.

"Come, let's go and we will call upon Gav later."

Sir Arch Fane

Arch had a coach brought to the front of the Starfare's mansion. This would be easier on his wife, and besides, it would keep them much warmer as they went through the area surround Rhy'Din, searching for home that would be suitable for the royalty of Mana.

They would naturally have many visitors and guests, and would need a home that could accommodate many people, as well as having a great hall for dances and other festivities.

They spent the day visiting many possibilities, some were immediately dismissed, a few looked like they might do. But then they saw a small castle on the hillside overlooking the city and that looked perfect.

"Look, my love." Arch pointed outside the coach window. "Why don't we take a closer look at this one."

Samleanus

Date: 2007-03-04 08:13 EST
It was so...perfect...yet odd to be riding around in a coach with her husband and youngest daughter. It was almost like a dream to her still. Being gone for so long and now they were house hunting? It almost seemed...so un-real. Like she was stuck in a dream world.

{{Eternity the whole of my being isn't always fighting.}}

]

{{That was many many moons ago.}}

]

{{That was while I was fighting my way to get back here. Now quit arguing with me. Trust me, this is Rhydin, there will be fighting. Eventually.}}

Sammy turned her attention back to her husband as he pointed to a beautiful castle in the distance. "Yes let's take a look at it. I would think your sisters would like it as well Ali." She squeezed her husband's hand and gave him a quick soft kiss on the lips.

Sir Arch Fane

Date: 2007-03-15 14:20 EST
The coach went past the brick pillar and iron gate and struggled up the tree-lined, snow-covered drive that lead up to the castle. They pulled in front of the massive door that had large outside lights on either side, and an iron knocker in the form of a lion's head.

It was not nearly as large as Sammy's castle in Mana, but as soon as the door was opened one could see the oppulence and elegance of the mansion.

Arch Fane took Sammy's hand and they walked inside together. The formal entrance was huge. "I would like to see it decorated in the treasures of Mana, bringing some of the Mana history here." He looked down upon Sammy and placed a kiss upon her lips.

"How do you feel about that?"

Samleanus

Date: 2007-03-27 16:03 EST
A tear spilled from the corner of the queen's eye as her husband kissed her lips. So long, no too long they had been seperated and now this all seemed like a dream to her. Sammy was afraid to fall asleep, because when she woke up she feared this would all be over.

"I think I like that idea very much my love. I'd love to see the inside."

Samleanus

Date: 2007-04-07 17:40 EST
If there was one thing Sammy hated it was feeling like she was an invalid. All the plane jumping had left her an absolute mess. She had to thank Gavilean and his lovely wife, along with FireSong for all they had done for her and Arch. Soon she would sit down with her daughter, when she was stronger...to see what was troubling her. The happiness of being reunited with her parents brought joy to her daughter no doubt, but Sammy could see a lingering sadness? Perhaps she was reading too much into it. Perhaps it was nothing at all.

Arch held his wife's hand as he helped her descend from the carriage to look at the castle that was before them. The trio made their way into the courtyard looking at the grandeur that lay before them.

Sir Arch Fane

Date: 2007-04-07 21:38 EST
They walked up the steps to the front entrance of the castle. The massive door of the main entrance had been left unlocked by the Realtor, and Arch opened it.

Inside the front door was the main entrance hall with stairs winding up on both sides, the second floor balcony hallway connecting them together. If you stay on the first floor and walk beneath the stairs, you entered the main banquet hall with the kitchens off to the left. If one went to the right beneath the stair one would come to the library, study, music hall and other public rooms.

Beneath the stairs to the left was a waiting room, solarium, and the utility and supply rooms that the staff would use.

Arch looked around approvingly and waited for the women to comment.

Sammy couldn't help but smile, this was not the castle she had in Mana but it would most certainly work for them while being in Rhydin. Of course she'd been gone from home for so long that she wasn't sure if it really would be home anymore. No doubt, it was more Shi'Nayne's home then hers now.

"My dear, I think this will work perfectly. What do you think Ali? Think you could handle living here with your father and I?"

Alat?riel was so happy that tears welled up in her eyes. ?Mother, just to be a family again, I?d live anywhere.? She gave her parents a hug, and then smiled.

?Mother, let?s go see what?s up the stairs!!?

Samleanus

"Well if you would live anywhere. I'm sure I could make arrangements in my homeworld of the Underdarke?" Sammy grinned just a bit, since there's no way on this plane or any other where she would travel the depths of the underdarke again. That place was beyond hell to her. Hey she'd been to hell and back...literally.

"Yes, let us see what is upstairs." She happily followed her daughter, knowing that Arch would be behind them. Well he'd catch up to them eventually anyway.

Alatariel

Date: 2007-04-11 15:28 EST
Ali shivered at the thought of living in the Underdarke, but replied, "Well, as long as you and father were there with me, I'd even live there."

Ali grabbed her mother's hand and began to head quickly up the stays of what could be their new home. "I can't wait to see the bedrooms! I want one with a view of the fountain . . . or maybe of the mountains!"

She looked behind her and saw her father following with a smile upon his face. It was nice to see the immortal knight smiling again.

As mother and daughter went up the great stone staircase to the 2nd floor, Sammy was rather impressed with the stone mason's work. The carvings were magnificent. The dragons carved into the banister was rather breath taking. It was very obvious the castle was well cared for and Sammy wondered why they had vacated it, of course many things can happen in one's life. So no telling what happened to the previous owners.

She could easily imagine some tapestries gracing the walls as well as a much needed family portrait.

There were two side wings to the second floor, one that could easily be for the royal family and the other wing for honored guests. The royal wing held 6 large bedrooms and the guest wing held the same. The rooms were rather bare of course, but not without their own character. Sammy found the window seats charming, with several pillows they could be quite comfortable. The bathing chambers had large tubs carved out of wood and a hand pump to fill the tub as well. That was a nice extra to have.

The middle wing was a huge area, one where the family could get together by the huge rock fireplace. This was perhaps one of her favorite places on the second floor. She imagined all the times they would be able to get together with family and close friends.

Ah yes...this place would do quite well. Yes indeed.

Samleanus

Sammy turned to Ali, "Does this meet with your approval daughter? I think this will make a nice home when we are away from Mana and Westridge. No doubt your father is going to have to split his time as will I." She turned to look at her husband's smiling face as he finished climbing the stairs. No doubt giving mother and daughter quality time together. "I think Shi'nayne and Elvanshalee will like it here too. This will be a nice place to visit and get away from the stresses of running a kingdom."

Sir Arch Fane

Date: 2007-05-02 17:09 EST
The immortal knight heard his wife's question to their daughter. "Yes, what do you think, Ali? Do this meet with your approval?"

His thoughts went back to the years they had spent together in a two-room mountain cabin. Those were happy years, but years that they both lived with huge holes in their hearts; holes that only Sammy could fill.

Now they were together again.

This time it would be forever.

Samleanus shooed her daughter off to find just the right room for her. "Go ahead, I'm going to wait for your father. You pick whichever room suits your fancy," Sammy said with a laugh. It was so nice seeing her happy, too many years had been lost to them, all of them.

"Darling, are you going to hang back forever?" She looked at him through lowered lashes, "Or are you going to keep your wife company before the plagues upon the world settle upon our shoulders once more. Before you are drug off to Westridge and I to Mana? I would so love just to stay here and say to heck with the rest of it. All of it. I'm so tired of running and searching. I would just love to settle down for a little while and just...be. I don't think that is too much to ask for, do you?"

Samleanus

Date: 2007-06-09 09:06 EST
The look in Sammy's eyes spoke a thousand and one words to her husband. It was rather hard for her not to just close the door that her daughter had exited and ravage him right then and there. She ached to feel his touch upon her ebony skin, to feel his warm breath upon her neck and his lips tenderly kissing her lips. Yes, those things had kept her going these last two years, imagining them as she jumped to another plane one more time, hoping beyond hope to find him. Now she had and he seemed a million miles away from her and he was only standing across the room.

Sir Arch Fane

Date: 2007-06-26 13:41 EST
Sir Arch Fane looked into his wife's eyes and knew what she was thinking. He smiled and gave her a wink, letting her know that he knew; and furthermore, that it was on his mind also.

"Good. It's settled then. I'll inform those handling the exchange of property. In the meantime, we should contact the Quartermaster of Mana and get this home furnished in elegance, so that it will be second to none. While in town I'll also contact the local artisans to see what they might be able to make that would be suitable for the Queen of Mana."

He moved to Sammy and took her into his arms. His voice was soft and his eyes were hungry. "We shall make our bedroom such that we shall ne'er want to leave it."

Samleanus

Date: 2007-06-26 18:29 EST
"Hmmm, I'm not really sure I want to go you know overboard with the decor...but then again this is a castle." She laughed a little bit, Sam was very happy to be with her husband and youngest daughter. "Darling I think I've already reached that point with our bedroom, but then again that really shouldn't surprise you now should it?" She wrapped her arms about his neck nuzzling in close, she felt her feet slowly lift off the ground as he pulled her completely into his arms. Her height compared to his was so much so, this tended to happen between them quite often. "How long do you think Ali will be occupied?" The wistfullness evident in her voice as she spoke to her husband, hoping for a positive answer.

Alatariel

Date: 2007-06-27 16:44 EST
"Mother! Father!" Alatariel came running into the master bedroom where she had left them. "I found the perfect room for me. It's . . ."

She saw her parents kissing and the way her mother's feet were lifted right off the floor.

"Opps!" she giggled and put her hand over her mouth.

"I think I'll go check out the stables," she added with a grin, so happy to see her parents together again. She ran out of the room, feeling better than she can ever remember.

Samleanus

Sammy blinked as her whirlwind of a daughter came into their bedroom all happy, smiling and simply carefree. This brought a bright smile to the queen's face as she looked into her husband's loving eyes, "I guess she answered my question."

Sir Arch Fane

Date: 2007-06-28 12:50 EST
"It appears that she has," he replied with a chuckle as he went over and closed the door of what was to become their new bedroom.

He turned the lock. "Hmm...an excellent lock. An essential part of any master bedroom."

As he turned back to her he was already taking off his shirt.

"C'mere, you."

There could be no doubt what he had on his mind. There was no furniture in the room, but that never stopped them before.

He slowly back Sammy up against the wall.

"I love you," he whispered as his hands removed her clothing.

Samleanus

Date: 2007-06-29 21:54 EST
As she watched her husband lock the door, the laces to the bodice were already being worked loose.

"I love you too."

Arch didn't have to ask twice and before too long the master bedroom had been offically *broken* in. Even without furniture.
