Goroth Dei Venn

The tall man looked over the pitiful line of scraggly urchin boys before him, a slight sneer on his thin lips. "This is all you have to offer me?" He snarled. "These are nothing more than glorified dogs!" The woman at the orphanage cowered back, giving him a feeling of superior satisfaction as she whimpered. "Please, milord, these are the only boys we have, you cannot expect an orphan to be strapping, they are garbage. They were thrown away because they are not desirable to thier parents!" He responed with a snort and a withering stare. "Shut up, wench! When I want your opinion, I will give it to you! What about that one?" He gestured with one creul hand to the boy sitting alone outside, clearly visable though the window. The woman followed his cold gaze. He just came in, his parents died recently. Goroth narrowed his eyes at the boy then hissed at the woman"Bring him to me." The woman was more than happy to get out of his dark presence and scurried quickly to get the boy, returning long enough to shove him into the room with the sinister man. Goroth grabbed the boy roughly by the arm, poking and prodding him without mercy as if her were a peice of meat. "Yeeessss..."Hissing softly. "I believe you will do just fine. Woman!" He shouted, looking up from the boy's terrified face to the doorway where the worn looking woman poked her head in. "I will take this boy. The woman looked at him incredulously. "Roran? but he's no better than.." "Silence! You do not tell me what I do and do not choose. Do not defy me! I will take this boy!" The woman practically stumbled out to get the paper work. Roran cowered down away from the man, wishing fervently for his mother and father, knowing they would never come for him again. They were gone forever, violently torn away from him by some heartless stranger for nothing more than a few lousy gold peices. He winced as the tall man's fingers curled tightly around his arm, bruising him, but he dared not cry out, this man he knew, would hit him if he did. Moments later the woman returned. "Roran get your trunk, You've been adopted. You're going with this man." Roran's heart sank as he looked up into glittering red eyes and creul thin sneering lips where he was dismayed to see fangs. He just knew he was going to be food, He just knew it! Shuddering he went to the common sleeping room and packed his meager belongings in a tattered suitcase and went out to the waiting carriage where he was uncerimoniously shoved inside with his things. Goroth climbed in with a twisted expression of hatred and calculating evil on his face. This boy, he thought, will be the perfect tool to get some new slaves. I'll use him and then get rid of him. He glanced down at the terrified boy. "Stop your sniveling!" Then he softened his tone making it sweet and soothing. "Don't you want me to be your father? I will take good....care of you." The word care almost stuck in his throat, but he knew with time and patience this boy would be the perfect bait and he needed him to co-operate. Roran said nothing and just stared at his hands the whole way to his new *Home*As the carriage slowed and stopped after an hour of bumpy travel, Goroth climbed out. "Come see your new home, boy." Roran didn't move. "Now!" His patience wearing thin he snarled "Get your trunk, and get in the house!" Turning abruptly he stakled to the huge two story manor without a glance backward. If the little runt wanted to eat, he'd come in sooner or later. Untill then he could fend for himself.
