~In the Library is a dark red books whose pages had a golden edge to them. It's alluring, not just because its size is greater than that of the other books, but that it seems to respond to the presence of an outsider. Upon opening it and turning past the first blank, linen page, there is a smaller, centered inscription.

With a single pinprick to your finger, press the drop of you blood on an empty page.
The book cannot lie, cannot be swayed, cannot be deceived.
It can only answer what you desire most to know about the name you say.

This book, it rested with all other information texts of the library as though it were a more usual specimen. There was no guard at the door, no agent whose eyes were in constant watch of it. However, if taken from the shelves and towards the door, the cover grew more and more red. Poisonous and willful through the charm that was placed upon it, it would refuse that it be taken from the library.~

((OOC Note: The Index Book works in the following way: Hypothetically, your character wants to know where Tommy's scar came from, and he won't tell you. It's bothering you immensely, you feel that there is more to it than he indicates. You come to the Library and for some reason, select the Index book and after reading the inscription on the first page you flip to the others but find that all of them are blank. You decide to follow the instructions, prick your finger, and press a drop of blood to a blank page. You speak "Tommy" and the book itself knows what you desire most to know about Tommy. The blood on the page darkens and moves, revealing the answer. However The book DOES have a trick to it-- that is, being a magical item, it can detect the question you desire most and give you the answer... that doesn't mean that your character knows what it is they truly desire most to ask. While they may think it is to know about Tommy's scar, it could be, deep down, that they want to know why he's not being honest and open with your character. The book will answer your character with the truth about his feelings of honesty and secrecy, not the scar. In that, the answers the book gives can be misleading as well as revealing. WE do not determine what the answers are, we assume that for whatever storyline you're playing you will have an answer in mind and can rp it here without us... however, we do not mind in assisting with ideas and joining your storyline, we just won't be presumptuous enough to do so unless asked!! Hope the book offers everyone some interesting play. ))
