"Tag your It!" happily shreiked the dark haired little girl as she slapped her twin brother on the sholder, before running off.

"Ohhh! No fair!" screamed her brother as he raced after her. "Kirin you cheated! Im gonna tell Mamma!"

Kirin and Kendri Kaut were the children of Kireth Kaut and her former mate Jayce. The pair had never known their father but they were not bitter about that. They had something they considered much better than a father. Old Uncle Tommrich. Tommrich was a semi-retired theif who lived on the grounds of the temple where the twins had grown up. He was there to help the twins uncle Kenteth train the shadowguards how to catch theives.

But in his spare time he had taken to teaching the two littlest Kauts a few things. And today was Lesson day.

The pair raced into the courtyard giggleing and laughing only to be met by a very loud "Shhh! Dont move!" from a well respected and familiar voice. Which caused the pair to freeze in place.

The snowy haired but still stout form if the old theif was sitting across teh courtyard today. A courtyard now strung with an intricate arangement of strings and bells. "Are you ready for your lessonings younglings?" he asked. The pair nodded stareing at the strings curiously. "Good then! Today I will teach you to walk on cats paws instead of a blundering little kittens claws."

The old man reaced out and plucked at a belled string. "Today we practice moving across the courtyard without ringing the bells. Which of you will try first?"

Kirin being the braver of the pair immediately piped in "Ohh I wanna try!"
She dashed straight for the feild of strings and began to thread her way through.. with a lot of jingleing and tingleing.

The old master was tsking by the time she made her way through the tangle. " A noisy little cat you are.. sure to be caught you would be." Then he looked to Kendri " Now you try little cat."

Kendri didnt say a word.. he just crept slowly and quietly up to the strings and began to move cautiously through them. It was not a perfect run but it was much quieter than his sisters had been. He was grinning porudly when the old master congratulated him.

"Moving on cats paws is not all about speed Little Kirin. It is about moving like a silent shadow on the wall. Little Kendri you have the makings of a good shadow." The old man nodded the set the pair to practiceing untill supper time.
