"Uncle Tobi do you need anything else this evening? If not I'm headed out to see Amaris." The half-tigress hardly waited for an answer before she untied her apron, hung it away and bolted for the doors of the tiny cottage she shared with her uncle.

Being away from her daughter was the hardest thing that Shandren had ever done. Little Amaris was so small when she had fallen from the cliffs around Shadow's Heart. The baby hardly recognized Shan when she returned. And one night spent in the tower with Artemus was enough to convince her that that chapter of her life was well and truly over. But that was not going to stop her from making regular visits to the baby.

Tobi had taught Shandren well in the short time she had been staying with him, so it was an easy matter for the tigress to slip trough the shadows to where Amaris was resting. "Hello My Little Moonlight, Momma's here. Would you like me to sing you to sleep again tonight?"

Mari giggled and cooed happily at her mother " Yes Momma, please."

The tigress picked the baby up from her bed cuddling her to her breast and rocking her slowly singing in a whisper soft gravely voice.

"Moonbeam child shine your light,
In my arms you are safe tonight.
Never fear the dark my dear,
Mother always will be near.

Moonbeam child shine your light,
Let it chase away all fright.
Know I always love you so,
In your little hand you hold my soul."

Shandren tucked the now sleeping child back in her bed, tucked her in tightly and kissed her little forehead. "Good night my little Moonlight. I love you."
