Firesong departed the Red Dragon Inn the expedient way. She shifted forms to the tiny grey mouse that slipped through the crack in the wall by the hearth. This form suited her sense of humor for who would suspect the harmless looking rodent of being in truth a remorseless killer. Inwardly the Master Vampiress smiled while scampering along toward the Westend in the shadows of the buildings.
The confrontation she had inadvertently walked in on tonight couldn?t have gone better had she planned it herself. The Dark Lord now knew who she protected. They knew there would be consequences should they again threaten or harm those she claimed as hers. Fire had not once unleashed an attack upon the ?Black Wizard? instead she had attempted to bargain with him.
Five souls for each one soul that she protected seemed reasonable to one that killed to live. Thus she had offered the five without hesitation to him in return for a pact to leave those she protected alone hence forth. All was well until she refused to give her life. Never again would Fire be slave to anyone.
The rodent squeaked angrily and was no more for in it?s place upon that thought stood the woman. Her silvery hair in braids with crystalline beads and feathers flowing around her in the midst of the firestorm her aura had become in the visible spectrum. Red leather lovingly hugging voluptuous curves that begged the eye of the beholder to linger those forbidden moments longer than were wise. A glimmering silver chainlink belt slung low to frame shapely hips that swayed that touch when walking that proved this was no girl but a woman full of sensual mysteries whose lips were lush with the promise of secrets to share. Stiletto heeled thigh topping boots along with numerous silver bangle bracelets on both wrists completed her outfit for the night all outlined clearly by the flames licking hungrily around her.
Graveyard cold eyes scanned the area as other senses flared out in search of prey. Fire hadn?t fed before the confrontation and along with the reaction headache setting in, from so much raw node energy being channeled so quickly, Hunger was gnawing at her. Scents and sounds became clearer as all her senses focused upon this one thing, her next meal.
From the looks of the lifeless body tossed aside there was a new widow in RhyDin and perhaps even newly fatherless children. A melodious laugh echoed through the sleeping shadows of the streets as new life flowed through her veins bringing color along with warmth to her skin. The flames withdrew back beneath the surface of her skin to await their next summoning or arousal of her wrath.
Now it was time to finish what she had started upon coming to this end of town. Where was it exactly? She canted her head to the left and closed her eyes as other senses again went seeking for him. She knew him well. She had felt him when he saved her life by risking his own. He had asked about her the night before according to Tasha. She had told Tasha she would come.
There she had it. She moved with preternatural speed using the rooftops to reach her destination. Once there her gaze roamed over the walls and gate in the front. A chuckle was stiffled at the sight of the bronze lions on each side of the gate while an idea took shape. Fire was no ordinary woman and would not be knocking on the door like a peasant. She leaped upwards landing gracefully upon one of the lions. It was not until she was comfortable there that she called out both mentally and in a whisper that she knew without doubt the Count could hear.
?I have come visiting. Will ye not greet me M?Lord??
