Tanzin's task as her "General" was a simple one; he was almost bribed into the fact that he would gain an army if he joined her, and so, the simple task was to bring a village under the boarders of Lucy's Fort, which was now named: "Den Of Shadows."
He was told to head south from the Den, and, he would meet with his private task force to influence the villagers there to join her reign. Tanzin had his orders, if they resisted. Punish them untill they gave in...
The village itself was situated in the trees, no defenses, they had not the money to even do that, but it was indeed a large village, and was verging onto a town. It was nameless, to everyone, but to them it was otherwise known as "Souan" the southern village.
The sun was high and the wind was silent, there was not a cloud in the sky, and where was this army she promised Tanzin amongst these tall oak trees? No where to be seen, yet.
The village upahead, along a small and damaged dirt path... A single woman walked down towards it... She hummed gently, looking up at the clear blue sky of the day, looking content, thinking that all would be well... But, that would soon change for her.
A snarl... From the bushes froze her up, and then as she moved closer to inspect the noise, thinking it to be a mere dog... A shadow hand, sucked her into the bush... Her cries no more than a second, as then the sickening crunch of the woman's skull rang out and died. Something sounded like it were feasting... And waiting, for their new Master.

The screams of the girl had been no surprise to him. Renna had warned him that they were like her, and he had seen her work once before. His limping form taking slow steps past the bush..stopping..eyeing it..and moving on as he gave a slight grunt to the shadow beasts he expected behind it. He didn't say a single word, just that simple grunt to get them off their asses. A hand gripped the scabbard holding his katana, a cloak being the same he had used to mask his identity on his attack on Jewel Ravenlock. Not a single look to see if they were behind him or not, and the fact of the matter was that he hardly cared if they even came. He was sure he could handle the nuisances of modern day peasants himself. Even with the long, thin gash at his side..he was still the arrogant bastard he always was.

A sharp feeling in the base of his spine told him that they were already behind him. Almost slithering out of the bushes with what would be irritable to Tanzin soon enough. He already didn't like these characters or their unearthly powers. If in any way they stepped out of line, he would make sure to give each one of them the worst beating of their lives. Teeth gritted, eyes moved to the town as him and his party of shadow...things.....found themselves standing just on the outskirts..

The demons mummbled amongst themselves as they stepped from the bushes... And what were they? Humans. Men, women, and even children. They all looked different, all ten of them. But they did have the same key features, despite their size and gender...
Their human arms, are shadow arms, half of thier face, skeletal, rotten, some more than another, their chest seemed swollen and gangrenous, smelling a foul stench... Their teeth was probably the most horrific, like Renna's when she was in Demon form, were spiney, all over the place in their mouth, and drooling that familiar black bile which Renna seems to keep all over her body.
They stopped behind Tanzin, snarling amongst themselves, as if they were conversing in a different carnal language.
One man stepped forward, his jaw parting, "Are you our Master? A mere human?" The man's voice was raspry, almost death-like, he himself was a fat old thing, he looked barely able to move himself as well as he did.
The edge of town, people glanced at them, from their every day life. Some kids pointed at Tanzin, some at the Demons... A few women grabbed their children and ran away as the men seemed to be picking up their farming tools wearily, one or two having the knowledge of war to pick up their old armour and swords... These people looked civilized, but they did indeed seem to have a more, barbaric nature. No one approached the party yet, but they seemed to be prepairing for the worst, word of a strange building up north being built had shaken their nerves.

Mere Human? That worked on his nerves as the words moved from the rotten monsters mouth. He'd show this one..and indeed show all of them. The sword in the scabbard supporting him was relinquished, and brought quickly behind him in a blindingly fast horizontal slice. The hum of his chi entering the sword had been barely audible before it was released in the direction of the one opposing Shadow demon. Yet, it held the power of the one he had launched at Renna during his own betrayal on the woman. He smirked, feeling his technique had clearly become quite more advanced. The hours of meditation and centering himself had finally worked out for him. The demons could hardly see the smirk, and as he turned to look at them it slowly faded into the stern features that usually graced his face. He was almost all too eager to see that weakling cut in half. A tongue went over a single canine before he posed a single question to the lot.

"Anymore questions?", his voice seemed gruffer than normal, a bit deeper in nature but before any could respond he began to make his way into the village turning town. Eyes went over the children with an disgusted look before turning to their mothers..and finally to the men.

"Gather everyone in the town here. Tanzin, Renna of the Darks newest General, demands the audience of the entire town.", Mentally he hoorahed. That had come out a bit more smoothly than he had hoped. The katana was slowly rescheathed and clinked back into place, supporting his weight once more.

The rest of the nine Demons stepped back from Tanzin, they snarled at him as the fattest of them all was cut into half... He made a squeel as one half of him squirmd on the floor, while his legs twitched and tensed, now seperated from the rest of his body...
Silence past as Tanzin's words rung out, the Demons looking amongst themselves - and then laughs insanely, they went up to their fallen comrade and kicked the squirming Demon, before rushing off into the town, calling out the order to gather up at Tanzin's demand.
They all stayed together as they kicked over stalls of fruit, gripping the odd woman here or there and shoving them to the ground, doing the usual lacky-type violence, the people were less than willing reluctantly of course... They were shoved in a crowd, and not only this the men were in the front line with their various make-shift weapons and the like. All the men lookd skeptical, looking ready to pounce - but out of fear not even bothering to just yet.
The demons snarled their way back to Tanzin's side, two children of which were daemonic were on their hands knees, like dogs, snarling at the men which were THAT too close to them.
"C-can we kill them?!" One squeeled.
"Look at 'er pretty face!" Another male demon went forward, his tongue licking around his lips as he looked to a rather teenaged looking girl, "Come to me - I won't hurt ya's!"
"Only eat you!" One of the children screeched, and in unison, they all laughed, looking to Tanzin, with their twisted spiney smirks.

One of the human men - an old lookin man stepped forward a little, he called out: "What do you want with us? We don't want to fight..."

He was simply disgusted with the little shadow demon children. His scabbard was brought up and he gave the most talkative of the bunch a good whack across the forehead before he stepped foreward. An eye on all of the men carrying their pitchforks, knives, etc. He let the second sword slip out just a bit out of its scheathe, that half an inch being the crucial factor in the draw. An eye scanned at all of the demons, raising an eyebrow in slight appraise of their good grunt work..Ok, maybe he liked having these lackies now but he turned his attention once more to the assorted farmers and craftsmen.

"I want you all to give into Renna the Betrayers ruling..you'll swear an oath to here right where you stand and hinder yourselves to her power. I don't want to fight, either..but I will use brutal force if I must"

He was such a bad liar. Of course he wanted these fools to just attempt to swing on him so he could have an excuse to take out the whole bunch. A hand was waved at the shadow demons, dismissing them behind him and obviously not going to use their power unless the situation turned dire.

"I don't want any resistance now. Just hand over to me your loyalty in a contract, and an oath..and whatever gold you all own"

That demand caused a mutter and gasp among the masses... For a moment the older one turned back to the people and talked amongst them silently. Their accumlative talks became hushed as a random man stepped out, a warrior obviously by nature he pointed his short sword at Tanzin, "Why should we?! There is but ten of you and one hundred of us! You would not stand a chance!"
A woman gripped his arm, a child in the other crying. "Darlin' don't provoke them..."
"No he's right!" Another man stepepd forward now, a very tall man, a man capable of using a normal sized man as a javalin and to throw him a good few miles. "Why should we fear this Betrayer when this persons sends you lot!"
More 'Yeahs,' and the talks amongst them rose to roars as a few of them stepped forward, but the old man again hushed them. And from his lips, came: "No, we have been a free community for almost a hundred years, we cannot submit to you Mistress..."

The demons, now behind Tanzin on the other hand smirked wickedly, snarling amongst themselves and chuckling at the peasent's words.
"We... should kill'em Master!" One of the children rolled on the floor, now jumping up back to his feet, his shadow arms bending like snakes, the hands snapping like claws.

But that was enough to provoke the big man carrying his rather large pickaxe to growl: "You and what army?!?!?" He moved forward ready to bring the weapon towards Tanzin, but some of the townsfolk prevented him, holding onto his arms and legs.

He looked at disgust at the little demon and his stupid rantings. He stepped on it..almost literally. His foot planted on its head and he smashed it into the ground without a second thought. He took his attention off of the demon child and claimed himself a few steps forward. Eyes glanced over the biggest among the townsfolk, giving him a wary eye before he turned toward the whole crowd. He righted himself, no longer giving the impression of the weakness in his side.

"I'm a fair man, I should say. Pick the best five fighters out of your village, and they will have one chance at beating me. A five on one competition. If I win, you all get to go free. If you win, we'll leave you alone forever."

He knew this town couldn't hope to match his skill. Even if there were trained fighters in this backwoods, one horse town..they would hardly have the experience and tact he posessed through his years of training. None the less, they had probably never even had the gall to kill a man in cold blood or no.

The demon's jaw cracked against Tanzin's foot, and as he moved his shadowy arms to his jaw, the spiney just hung thee broken now from the rest of his face. The rest of the demons chuckled darkly at this, but then simply frowns and hissed at Tanzin's words.
"That's borin'! What 'bout us!"
"Yeah!"
The child with dislocated jaw simply made a grunting noise in agreement... But they all lowly sat down, mostly together like some wild pack of wolves, punching, and nipping at themselves, waiting to be used.

Meanwhile the town folk went into an uproar of talk once more - the biggest man stepping forward, along with two skinny rather pathetic looking men by his side holding pitchfolks, another two - twins infact holding badly rusted swords - one of them even holding a half broken sword, not looking like some rusty jagged dagger.
"We accept your terms..." The big man said, his voice booming athunder, the old man looked to retort but he simply nodded closing his eyes.
Grins past the men's lips and they stopped forward, looking ready to pounce forward, but that was short lived quickly and suddenly, the twins rather forth, the skinny men following reluctantly and the big man...

The twins with their badly-conditioned attempted to swip at the man's neck, the two skinny men attempting to jab his legs, while the big man had yet to strike.

"Pfft..weaklings..."

And his sword was brought back, horizontal across his chest as they began their attack. The now unscheathed sword began to vibrate in his hand..taking on a slight resonance and sounding the traditional low hum of his favorite technique. and he let it fly once the four were nearly point blank, but all the while his eyes were on the biggest one. These peons were hardly worth his time and he was quite disappointed in himself to use such advanced swordsman styles on people so far beneath him on the spectrum. A couple steps back, and he was down in the widened stance. Even if the two had managed to grab his ankles, in a moment their hands would be quickly detached and fall off of him. His face was more than dead serious upon looking at the largest. He wanted a good fight out of at least one of them and that was his best chance.

"Your next, right?"

All four of the men jumped towards him simutainiously towards the attack like complete and utter idiots, they were all hit! Two completely cut in half, one having his guts to fall out about him like as if his balls had dropped, while another, only wounded took the tip of his blade into his chest, and sent him crying to the floor like a baby, writhing from pain...This got the demons attentions as they moved towards the now dying bodies licking their lips...

While the biggest of the lot stood there moving to the one man whom was injured, and not fatally wounded, he knelt there looking up at the man with such strong skill...
"You Monster..." He growled, rising his large pickaxe like weapon to swipe sideways towards his gut, the long curved point moving straight towards his side at breakneck speeds, the man was strong, and hauling the weapon around as if it were made of feathers. Really sharp feathers...

He was all about reading angles, whether it was with weapons or with punches. So a blind, angry swing like that was childs play to him. He took a quick jump back, watching the axe go in safe distance from his person. He wanted to wait for the next attack, but he needed to get done with this job and get home to report to Renna. So he charged right in, the second sword now brought up to defend against a second attack from the behemoth and his overbearing axe. He hardly had any hope in actually blocking it, but a pass would have to do as he closed the distance once more. As he passed the man, a single metal ring held out. Tanzin stood far behind the man now, holding the sword out.

"Done..and done...Have at their bodies, if you will."

Just as the mans body would register the cut, he quickly scheathed his sword and listened for the relieving sound of gushing blood. If the cut was perfect, like he intended, it would be deep and the red life water would rush out in the form of a geyser. His eyes went to the last man..seeing he was not mortally wounded he dismissed him, giving him a wave of the hand to signal him back to the crowd before the shadow demons confused him for dead.

Actually the man's intense swing sent him to swing around to face his back at Tanzin, half expecting to hit the man, but he simply dodged it by jumping back, and as Tanzin did his attack, the man felt, and saw nothing but him standing quite abit far away... He heard his words and he was too move, his upper half peeled away from his legs, the gush of blood spurting back over the faces of the demons which now, went into a crazy, they dodged forward to tare at the bodies, their gnarled and spine yteeth chewing away at what flesh they had, limbs being pulled, the sound of bones snapping and grunching, even the man's cry of whom was injured as they chewed away at his stomach.

The crowd gasped, some cries of the wives of the men whom fell, the old man on his knees now, stareing wide eyed at the swordsman... They feared him now, and men dropped their weapons, moving to hold members of their family close... But one woman got away from the crowd, she ran at Tanzin in blind rage, crying her tears at her now eaten husband - the big man that was apparently the strongest.
"You beast! You monster!" Her feeble hands stuck at his chest and face, she just repeated those words, crying and falling to her knees before him.
The crowd just fell to their knees along withe the girl, the old man standing now great difficulty.
"...We will join your Lady's Kingdom..." The old man had uttered in a whisper.
