Lucy looked after her battered daughter, and which brought the state of her mind again into dissaray. Infact, Lucy had questioned her own goals now. How could she hit her own Child? Her own love, someone whom she protected since she killed the parent's girl, but now to simply batter as Emma reacted the way she would know, to the news of Lucy killing her parents.
Perhaps this was meant to be, maybe she had to push away her daughter, to protect her. Watching her unconcious unmoving form in that bed really did stir up lost feelings of Motherhood. She really did miss looking after her, and, now, avoiding Ayreg and everyone for days like she had done to look after her daughter, she now knew what she had to do.

Lucy had to push away her daughter, and, hopefully, perhaps Emma will come to walk away and never see her again.
