Cy hadn't been in Rhydin for long, but it wasn't taking him much time to adapt to the place. It was more interesting than any other city he'd visited while working with Carley and Orson. Having finished his duties aboard the Luinista earlier than usual, he'd told Carley he was leaving for the day. Orson complained, naturally, but that just made it all the sweeter for Cy. He was grinning as he walked along. His hands were clasped behind his head as he wandered. As was usually the case, Cy was in no particular hurry to be anywhere. It seemed different for the citizens of Rhydin, though. All sorts of creatures seemed in a hurry. He saw a pair of drow arguing with each other near one of the buildings in the Marketplace. He grinned to himself. He got some enjoyment out of seeing that.

The variety of trade goods was something else that intrigued Cy. There were so many street vendors and shops. He'd been to cities that did a lot of trading, but Rhydin was something else entirely. He had been meaning to check out the Forge, a place Carley had mentioned to him. Hunger distracted him from the idea. He had no intention of preparing anything for himself. Once he'd neared the fountain in the center of the Marketplace he paused. He opened up a pouch on the right side of his waist and peered into it. "Aw, hell." He counted ten silvers. It was all he had until Carley paid him again. "Least my room is paid for the week." He sighed a bit and then shook his head. A smile soon appeared. He'd get by, as he always did.

He closed the pouch back up and starting wandering over to what appeared to be a small cart with a man behind it. "Hot dogs, right here! Cooked fresh! Come and get one!" The man was yelling to passersby, trying to get their attention.

Once Cy was close enough, he questioned the man. "What's a hot dog?" Rather than explain, the man grinned at Cy and put a hot dog in a bun. He then held it out toward the elf.

"Twenty coppers and you can find out, m'boy!" Cy considered it. He grinned after a moment.

"Sure, why not?" He fetched one of his silvers from his money pouch and offered it to the man. He waited as the man got his change. After he'd given the money to Cy, he spoke up again.

"Here, try it with this. I think you'll like it." Some mustard was squirted onto the hot dog before the vendor gave it Cy.

"Thanks." Cy smiled and took his hot dog. He then wandered off to the west. He took a bite of his acquired snack. He lifted one dark brow in surprise. "Hey, not half bad." Happily, Cy continued on his way. He saw a few children running around, appearing to be playing some game of tag. It made him smile. For a moment, his thoughts ventured to Morwen, his niece. He couldn't help but wonder how she was doing, as well as the others in Hurin Taurae.

It'd been fifteen years since he left. Morwen was still a little girl, then. Cy knew she had grown up by now, at least physically. "She'd be... twenty-three soon." He mused to himself between bites of his hot dog. Carley had mentioned giving him time to go back and visit his village. He was torn with the decision. On the one hand, he really wanted to see his sister and Morwen. On the other, he knew his family would likely be the only ones happy to see him.

As he finished off his hot dog, Cy heard some yelling. He glanced to his right. He could see an alley, but not much of what was in it. It sounded as though the yelling was coming from there. Others passed by the alley without even a curious look. Cy guessed they were used to the commotion. As he peeked his head into the alley, he could see what appeared to be a young couple surrounded by five men. Well, two of them were men, at least. One was clearly a troll, another a gnome, and another an orc. Cy frowned a bit and started stepping into the alley.

"Give us everything ya got!" The gnome held a knife out toward the couple. The others had various weapons, though Cy didn't really take note of what they were. "Now!" The orc bellowed. The woman narrowed her eyes. She thrust her hand forward and a bolt of lightning struck the orc. He went down hard. "Oh, yer gonna pay for that, missy!" The gnome started moving a little closer.

Cy had approached the group without being noticed. He stood right beside one of the human thieves, hands in his pockets. "What's going on?" The man apparently wasn't paying much attention, as he answered Cy casually. "Just a stubborn pair. Don't want to give up their goods." The man nodded and turned to look at Cy. His eyes went wide with surprise. Cy smiled at the man before he spun to the side. His knee crashed into the thief's gut. The man went down with a loud gasp. It made the troll nearby look in Cy's direction. He didn't see much other than Cy's boot plastering itself into his face.

The second human thief realized Cy was a threat by this time. He lunged out at Cy with a rather large knife. Cy's smile never faltered, he simply moved away from the weapon as though it were an obstruction. If one didn't know better, they might have thought Cy was dancing. As he came back around, he slammed his heel into the man's back. As the thief started to go down, the male half of troubled couple seized the opportunity. He came forward and put his knee into the falling thief's face.

The gnome, well, perhaps he was the smart one. Once he had grasped the situation, he bolted. Cy watched as he went and chuckled. "Huh. He's pretty quick, eh?" He turned to look at the couple. Still smiling. The woman sighed, likely in relief. She and her male friend both nodded.

"Thank you for your help." The woman spoke up.

"Forget about it." He shook his head. "Well, see you." He lifted his hand to the pair and then headed back out of the alley. The couple watched as he went, still standing among the groaning group of thieves.

"What a weird guy." The man said.
