Topic: The Greater Rhy'Din Market Place Chamber of Commerce

"So ya think they'll respond? I mean with all this mess that always seems to happen around these parts, man? At this rate, I don't think there'll be anyone left to visit, and if that happens.. Adios Muchachos!

"That's exactly why we need to band the business owners together, Ker. All of us, need to remind the people why they love coming here, and why we love having them here. As business owners and workers we serve the people and without those people, we'll have no businesses to tend to in any way, shape or form."

"So like a guild man? All secret and what what?"

"Heh, no... More like a collective of like minded people who want to see this place thrive and grow to it's true potential, as the center of this city. People who would look out for one another, and showcase the wonderful things this area of the city has to offer it's visitors. They we're more than just a cluster^&%$ upon cluster^&^% waiting to happen. A collective that can meet together and come up with ideas, that would benefit us all as a whole, and in a positive light no less."

"So it's a club?"

Brian sighed... "Yes, Kerri a club to make this place better. So let's send some letters out to the other business owners, and see what they may have to say."

"What kinda letter, boss?

Something like...

Business owners within the Rhy'Din Market Place,

My name is Brian Ravenlock, and like you all I have a localized and vested interest within the Rhy'Din Market Place.

That being said, in light of recent events I would propose a meeting to discuss forming a 'Chamber of Commerce' consisting of business owners within the Market Place. Such as you who are reading this.

In short this Chamber of Commerce would come together and find ways to showcase our businesses to the community at large in a positive and most beneficial manner.

In these difficult times, we need to look out for one another as fellow business owners and leaders, to show the rest of the city what the Rhy'Din Market Place is truly about!

This group will not be sponsored by the Government in any way. This is strictly by local business owners for the betterment of our area of the city, and more so, our businesses.

If this notion interests you in the slightest, please do not hesitate to reply directly.

Thank you for your time,

Brian Alexander McDineen-Ravenlock

"Gotcha man!

"Kerri?"

"Yeah?"

"Make sure to include the address that they can send the replies to."

"Oh yeah, that would be cool, yeah?"

So off Kerri went to work on the task at hand.

Soon she and her 'Lostest Children' were roaming the Market Place, handing out letters to local business owners. And hopefully some would reply. More so-- hopefully some would understand that it was finally time to retake what was theirs to begin with, in a most positive light.

The Market Place was more than a disaster after disaster cliche'. It was the heart of commerce for Rhy'Din and one of the most spectacular places in all the realm!

Dear Brian Ravenlock of the Ravenlock Clan,

It is I, the greatest the Watch has the offer. The terror of the seas, skies, and soon enough mountains once I figure out how to gain more lift on this balloon so I don't bump into the rocks..

Anyway! As I am going to be the next and GREATEST Governor of this fine city, I will tip mine hat to you for I am allowing you the chance to join up with me. Yes, this is not a dream. You may stop pinching your cheeks as this is real life and not fantasy.

Wait. Maybe you should tip your hat to me. I'm the one doing all the work!

Since I have a business in the Marketplace that has been destroyed during this and that.. I do not recall which, I sort of let it be a wreck for the time being. But, I deserve justice! And by justice, possibly free food and free contractors and other such things to rebuild my shop.

All of this being free. Of course.

I also made a sign. Pink is the color of cuteness.

尊敬的先生 Ravenlock,

I know I do not have to remind you of the numerous businesses and investments I, and the Lotus Clan, have within the areas of these attacks. Many of which provide daily silent support to the citizens.

I have been able up until this point, not increased surcharges to recuperate my financial loses and would like to avoid so doing so in the future.

That having been said, Count the Lotus Clan for support.

Dear Mr. Ravenlock,

Speaking as both a shopowner and businessman based just off the Marketplace, and also as a citizen of this fine city, I applaud this initiative and will gladly do what I can to support it.

While the Small Business Relief Fund has been in place for some time, it cannot replace the long-term losses that an eroding customer base will bring. So far I have seen little ebbing of traffic through the Market, even in the wake of these recent unpleasant incidents. However, we cannot let ourselves grow complacent.

Yours in service,
Ciarth Whitemane

Vice Admiral Jesse ? The greatest the Watch has to offer, Terror of the Seas and Skies and soon enough the Mountains, once you figure out how to gain more lift with that balloon of yours so you do not bump into the rocks. (And you WILL master that balloon, because personally those mountains have a complex and need to be brought down a peg or two!) ,

First and foremost congratulations on your recent appointment to Bristle Crios. I look forward to seeing the results of your teachings, most specifically the broom flying. Like you I am a firm believer in the necessity of broom flying when it comes to the teaching of younger magical adepts.

Secondly, I admit that I did in fact pinch my cheeks more than once upon reading your most kind offer to this most unworthy of people. Though you cannot see this, know that I am tipping my hat to you and more so, am ever so appreciative of your consideration.

To the matter at hand, you do in fact deserve justice and I will be sending a work order to one Mister Phelix Phixit, who is a newly arrived contractor now serving the city. Mr. Phixit is opening a new office within the Market District, and I would like your store to be the very first project of his, if that is alright.

So what I need from you, Vice Admiral is the name and location of your business and we may begin the recovery process for you (Paid for by a local interest group, who appreciates all of your hard work, and efforts towards the betterment of this great city).

Also on another note, Mister Phixit may very well be looking for additional help in regards to his efforts. If you know of anyone who may be looking for work, please let us know. Alive or dead will do, but if it happens to be dead, they need to be fairly composed (Too much decomposition can cause issues with work quality and cleanliness), and self thinking or at the very least can follow directions well.

And your sign is an amazing piece of work, I admit my daughters have been parading about the market place with those signs in hand, spreading the word to all who may hear.

~Yours Always,

"You heard me, leopard. I want you to deliver this to the gentleman organizing the Chamber of Commerce."

"Aww, but why, we've got Savitar to back us up with these messes that have been occurring?" The seemingly young man whined to the silver haired woman that was righting tables and chairs from the last attempted brawl that occurred.

"Because we do need to a) learn how to stand on our own two feet in case we end up in a situation like the Bears and b) it would help to establish greater ties where Ash's crew can funnel funds to help out. It's tough to get the support network in place." She shrugged and looked at the man. "Most importantly, I said so."

"And, Asheron is behind it, leopard." Came the lightly accented voice. The athletic figure of the Dark Huntress stepped from the shadows of the Club. "Kyrios Ravenlock has our respect, we will support him."

Lady Myllyanna of ShinKa & the Onyx Lotus Clan,

My Lady, no reminder is needed in regards to your numerous interests within the Market Place, and areas of incident and concern.

No reminder is required when it comes to the assistance you have offered within the Market Place time and again, even if it is not openly known.

We thank the Lotus Clan for its support, and I personally thank you.

Together, I believe we may be able to assist the Market Place as a whole, and encourage a new view, as it were?for those who have become accustomed to the recent dismal issues that have beset this area these last few months.

This of course will benefit each of us, and the bottom line as a whole.

I shall send word of a time, and venue for our first meeting.

~Respectfully yours,
Brian Alexander McDineen-Ravenlock

************************************

Mister Ciarth Whitemane ? Proprietor of Shining Star Glassworks,

Sir, your support of this initiative is greatly appreciated.

You bring up a very good point in reference to the small Business Relief Fund, and the damage that an eroding customer base can bring and more so, its long term effects. This is exactly what I wish to prevent from ever happening to this great area of ours, and the business localized and surrounding that make this area what it is.

You are indeed right, Sir. We cannot grow complacent, because it is literally peoples livelihoods at stake, both the business owners, and the customers who depend on them. Not to mention the benefits the Market Place, and its businesses localized, and surrounding bring to the city.

I will be sending word in regards to the time and venue for our first meeting, and I hope we may speak in person sometime.

Also, I caught your advertisement and spread the word as well of your amazing works, and sale this week.

Thank you once more and do take care, Mister Whitemane.

~Yours in Service,

Brian Alexander McDineen-Ravenlock

"You knew this was coming, Cae." The auburn haired witch quipped to the flame haired seer.

"I had to come about, Wanda. You cannot be in five places at once, even with your reality abilities to protect this place. We've sustained too much damage." It was a worry on the younger seer.

"Yes, and the guys are worried." She said in response. "Pie especially."

"He has a right to be. Things have been escalating with no regard for the people that are struggling to survive and make a living. Not everyone is instantly rich or has limitless resources."

"I know all too well. I'm going to talk to a few people about this and other things. Seems Brian's plan is the opening I need."

"Be careful, Wanda." Caelyn said softly.

Dear Brian;

Of course, you can count on the support of Moonlight and Magic.

When you have a moment, my friend, I would like to discuss a few matters that tie in closely with recent events as well as the Chamber.

Crowe,

It?s great to hear from you, friend!

Your stall was one of the things that led to this idea of ours, because of what followed it as well. Your struggle with the stall is noted as well, and we?ve taken to contacting Mr. Phelix Phixit to arrange a job inspection and quote for any additional work you may require. This will be taken care of by me personally, and do not think of saying no.

Friend to Friend, right?

Besides, you are right. With no business, we have no food on the table and then some. It affects us all, customer and business owners alike.

So thanks for your support, Crowe. As a friend, and fellow citizen it means a great deal to me. So keep a look out for a letter with the time and place for our first meeting!

You take care, and we?ll talk soon.

~Your friend always,

Brian

A little late, but aware of the goings on in the city, Caroline found time in her schedule to send a note of her own.

Master Ravenlock,

As a member of the committee that controls the funding and distributing of the Small Business Relief Fund, and CEO of a company that supports several small businesses within the Marketplace, I'd like to offer my support to this endeavor. I may not be able to make it to a meeting, but I will lend aid in whatever way is deemed appropriate.

Please, do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of any service.

Sincerely yours,

Sick and tired of the seemingly endless amount of violence that has turned the beloved Marketplace, Sadie was more than relieved to find that her former employer was back in town and ready to do something about the situation.

Lady Caroline Granger ? CEO GrangerGuild Conglomerate,

Lady Granger, I would like to thank you for your support of our endeavor. Rest assured that I will make sure you and yours are kept deeply informed, and up to date so do not worry in regards to attendance, as I know full well how busy things can get.

I noted the recent announcement in regards to the Small Business Relief Fund and am glad to hear the word spreading among those businesses in need. Thank you for that, because it means a lot to a great many to know there are those willing to stand and assist them, and it means even more so when it comes to someone?s lifeline such as their business.

If there is anything I may do for you as well, you need but ask.

Respectfully Yours,

To whom it may concern:

Let it be known that the Gator's Tail Bar & Grille, being a part of the Marketplace and home of Rhy'din's only fine Cajun cuisine and down-home dining experience, is proud to offer its support of this initiative. Those of us with businesses in and around the Marketplace do need to stick together and support each other, especially when lately it seems a number of the 'disasters' which have taken place in this fair and wonderful city of ours have either occurred in or directly affected the Marketplace the worst.

Sincerely,

Rene Gautreaux

Mr. Rene Gautreaux - Owner/Proprietor, The Gator's Tail Bar & Grille,

Mr. Gautreaux, first off I?d like to thank you for your support of the Chamber of Commerce and secondly, I?d like to mirror those points of yours. We do need to stick together, and we do need to support one another. What affects one of us here, could very well affect us all.

Especially when it comes to the ?disasters? you had made mention of.

We are securing a locale for our first meeting, and we will send dates and times accordingly, so keep an eye out and we look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,
Brian Ravenlock, on behalf of the Greater Rhy?Din Market Place Chamber of Commerce.

Rose DeRomiano

Dear Mr Brian Ravenlock,

The Rosa Gigantea has reopened its doors in lieu of its recent inactivity and it may come to some surprise to you that I wish to extend my aid in your endeavour.

As the current proprietor of this florist and the acting ambassador for Negzarcurgian affairs in Rhy?Din, I wish to extend this olive branch to show this city that the Negzarcurgian influence which was part of the majority of the chaos over the past couple of years within the Marketplace, was an unfortunate scene of collateral damage that we seek to correct.

It is understandable that attaching the stigma of ?Renna?, ?One? or ?Negzarcurgis? to your cause may hinder it rather than improve it on a public level, so we will take little to no offense if you wish to decline our offer of service.

As a business, any event you wish to host we will offer a service that is completely free of charge, naturally within the subjects of floral displays, landscaping, floral and fauna educational classes and garden maintenance, to do with however you see fit.

However, as we are seeking to improve foreign relations with Rhy?Din and its citizens, our enforcement expertise, monitoring and detection technology are at your complete disposal provding you are willing to accept our offer of aid.

In terms of medical care, while I do know you are not the Mayor of this city, may I suggest the concept of the construction and formation of an ambulance service specific to the Marketplace place area of the city, for quick and responsive reactions to medical emergencies. For this, I offer our medical staff (magically and non-magically trained) which we will house at no cost to your endeavour within a specific building within the Marketplace to which we are currently looking to purchase and refurbish into a small clinic.

Again, while I know our name and our influence is of a negative light, I believe I can change that. I firmly believe this is the first stepping stone to a penance that is long overdue.

Yours sincerely,

Rosa Egorwrath, Florist and Proprietor of the Rosa Gigantea, Ambassador of Negzarcurgian Foreign Affairs

Brian Ravenlock

Date: 2014-08-12 18:50 EST
Rosa,

First off before anything else is said, I want to thank you for your kind offers. It means a great deal to me, more than you may realize and I hope we can sit one day soon and have a talk about that.

That being said, I will not refuse your offer of assistance by any means.

Many of us in Rhy?Din have had our share of issues. Many of us have been a part of things have that damaged or harmed this city, be it directly or by association. However, that aside?it is how we rise from those unfortunate incidents that truly show what we as a individuals are made of, and more so?set the bar by which we are measured.

The fact that you contacted me, wishing to help us make this place all the better in regards to the greater good, speaks volumes and I will have no issue what so ever standing with you and for you, should anyone else have any reservations.

In reference to your offer of aid regarding our public safety issues (the enforcement, monitoring and detection, along with the ambulatory services), we have recently resurrected the Emergency Medical Services Division for the Market Place, with the support of the Chamber here, along with privatized assistance. So your timing could not have been better, in regards to assisting us.

So that would be a ?Yes please?, we would welcome your assistance gladly. But that is something we can discuss away from the Chamber, as those programs are directed under the 27th Division of the Rhy?Din Watch for the time being.

On another note, I would love to see another clinic in the area. I believe that could only benefit us as a whole with more people coming together to make this a better place for us all.

I sincerely look forward to working with you, and standing by you, Rosa.

Please feel free to contact me anytime you wish, I can be reached via the Chamber, the 27th Division, or at our family?s new home in the Marketplace itself.

Take care, and be safe

~Brian Ravenlock

PS- I have included a memo in regards to an event that will be coming up soon, I hope you?ll be able to join us in support of it!

The Greater Rhy?Din Marketplace Chamber of Commerce

August 10th

To All Chamber of Commerce Members,

I have been informed of an opportunity that will most assuredly be interesting and quite fun!

Rhiannon Harker, the Baroness of the Old Market District and Claire Farron are planning a Street Festival, that will take place inside the Marketplace, as part of the cyclic Duel of Magic?s Archmage Tournament.

This event will take place on August the 24th at 8PM (By Eastern Clock Time). Dueling to begin at 9PM (By the Eastern Time Clock).

Baroness Harker is hoping that Chamber members will be willing to support this festival by participation, with a display of wares and talents.

It is my sincere hope as well, that as many of us that can support this event, do so. It is something that will benefit all involved, and I truly look forward to seeing what we can all bring to the table on this.

The Cardinal Inn will be offering free food and lodging to tournament participants and those with them.

We will be following Baroness Harker and Claire Farron?s lead, in regards to this event.

In anticipation of this I have contacted Yotsuba?s Cake Shoppe, and they have pledged their support as well in the form of an interactive cake creation event for children, along with a Taiko drum performance by the Clan Urashima.

The Clandestine Order of the Seraphim is also on board with a olden style fruit and cider stand, and various games of skill.

The 27th Division of the Rhy?Din Watch will also be present in the form of a booth, showcasing safety and awareness. We will also have plain clothes patrols to assist in security for the event, under the lead of event organizers.

I am sure as we get closer to the event date we will see more parties wishing to take part in this event, so make sure to get in as soon as possible.

Full details will be made to the public at large later this week, so keep an eye out!

As always my best to each of you and yours,

Brian Ravenlock
