Godric

Tyler wanted to know how to become an alpha without any idea of how that came about. Power in packs was taken not earned. If the Pup wanted Godric?s place he would have to challenge Godric for it. Not only would they have to fight but Tyler would have to win. The only way the young wolf would win would be to get Godric to submit to him. If Godric was any less of a man it may have been plausible, but he would rather die than submit to anyone.

It wouldn?t be the first time he had been challenged, many years before he had a rogue wolf accepted into the pack. The wolf was kin of Aubren, Davian. The wolf Davian was head strong and stubborn. His may always spilled hatred and anger. So much effort to assert himself as a man, the idea was novel to Godric. He didn?t have to assert himself as anything, Godric knew well his place and his role as Alpha. It wasn?t the first challenge but it was the one that stuck out most predominately in his mind.

Davian had stalked into the manse in the middle of the night, he had his fair share of wine and ale at a tavern near the docks that night. Stumbling about, screaming profanity and calling Godric out at the top of his lungs. Knocking over chairs and tables as he threw himself around the entry way. Servants running away in fear, locking the doors to their quarters and the storerooms.

It was Natasha that alerted Godric to the commotion going on downstairs. Lengthy legs swung out of the lush four posted bed. Standing to full height his hand reached to scratch at his lower stomach. A yawn pressed through pale lips and he nodded to his mate. A sigh of frustration and he rubbed lightly at the back of his neck. To the armoire he stood before it, tying up shoulder length red hair. His hand went to rub at the rough stubble of crimson goatee. Silk pants were taken and pulled onto himself, strings about the waist were tied tightly. As he made his way out of the room and stalked down the stairs he didn?t shift. Choosing to stay in his very human like form. Into the living room he strolled very casually. They lived like pompous humans, indulging in plush carpets, expensive lavish furniture and thick sun stifling drapes. Hand struck a match to light a single oil lap on a mahogany end table. A tick of brow to the frenzy shaken Davian. The match pinched burned down to rough finger tips. As it burned him crimson eyes scanned down to his hand. Fingers pinched out the flame and he peered back to his aggressor. Simple words were spoken.

?You woke Natasha.?

Tongue drawn to lick at his dry bottom lip. Dropping the spent match on the table beside the lamp. Davian moved then, quickly. A crooked path towards Godric, eyes filled with anger, hatred and rage. All for the Alpha before him. Godric slipped casually to one side as he was lunged at. Allowing the enraged omega crash into the table where the lap sat. It shook and a hand was shot out to catch it before it could crash and shatter against the carpet. Godric set the lamp down on a coffee table and raised a brow to the Omega. A rumble of aggravation slipped from him before he wrapped his fingers around the back of Davians neck. Lifting him with little effort he set him upright and peered into his eyes, a scanning was all he offered the man, Godric was impartial to the fact that he was being challenged. It was only after several minutes of hard staring that Davian spoke:

?Your female is no concern of mind I have come to take what should already be mine. I?ve made up my mind and I am owed a place as Alpha.?

There was a low rumble of laughter from Godric. Releasing the male from his iron grip he took a step back, stretching an arm straight out on either side of himself. Fingers twitched as if begging the man to bring it on. Godric was completely done playing games with the omega. Davian lunged towards Godric again, claws of massive hands dug and bit into the flesh of the Alpha?s shoulder. A rumble from Godric?s throat and his slender fingers were brought around the wrist of Davian, twisting and pulling until he not only heard the anguished howl from the omega but also the snapping of sturdy bones.

Godric took this chance to force the man to his knees. Pushing at the wrist and forcing him backwards. A barefoot to shoulder and a sharp application of strength. It was all too clear Godric knew what he was doing. The man before him hit the floor sprawled on his back and holding his wrist. Foot pressed to the mans sternum, a hard stomp, bones broken there too. Howling was stifled as the mans lungs began to fill with blood. It was then that Godric showed mercy. A leap and he straddled the chest of the man. Having him pinned down on the ground before him. Gurgling and gagging from the failed omega. The crimson haired one leaned in close and tore out Davians throat with bitter sharp fangs and razor sharp claws. Standing he watched him for a moment.

Several moment passed, Godric listened to the flow of blood, the weakening of heart and finally the last rattles of a dying man. Stepping over the bloody mess, Godric head for the kitchen. A sigh and he knocked on the door to the store room. A small man opened the door and shrunk back a bit. He shook his head and clapped a bloody hand on the mans shoulder. Reaching up he pulled down a bottle a moonshine and uncorked it with his teeth. A sip taken and he spoke.

?Master Davian has made quiet the mess in the parlor. If you could take care of it that would be lovely.?

Without another word Godric walked up the stairs, entered his room, roughly mated with Natasha and fell asleep. It was a night he had never forgotten. It was the first time he had killed for his position in the pack. It wouldn?t be the last time, but the first always kept in the foremost of his mind. As he spoke to his beautiful Coyote, listened to the worry he couldn?t help but love her just that much more. She was so concerned about things that were not even relevant. A threat that wasn?t even intended sent her frantic. He had to smile and offer her gentle kisses for her concern.

With pups on the way, Godric had decided to take his role much more seriously. He couldn?t screw things up again. This was his one chance at redemption. He could never forget what he had once done, but it would be a cold day in hell before he repeated it.
