The meeting in Count Longden's library appeared to be finally over, and now was his chance to see if he had any real opportunity to get to know Mihaela better. Was it just a business meeting flirtation, or could this be something more? He looked at her and smiled. "Maybe we should go before the Count suddenly thinks of something more to say."
She grinned mischievously at the comment, "The meeting does appear to be breaking up." She moved to stand and waited to see what his next move was.
Merrick looked at the lines of her body as she stood, and he was quite impressed. He stood up next to her and leaned down and whispered, "Let's take a walk. I find these old castles to be quite intriguing. I'd like to see some of it."
She looked up at him. My was he tall, and good looking. "Sounds like a plan," she murmured softly, quite anxious to depart this meeting.
He placed his large hand upon the small of her back and led her out of the library, wishing a good night to Lord Salvatore as they passed by him. When they were at in the hallway he put his lips to her ear and whispered, "That guy gives me the creeps."
She murmured softly, tilting her head towards him, "Vampires give me the creeps."
Merrick looked into her green eyes as she looked up at him. Damn, but she was pretty. "I know what you mean." His hand rose up her back to her far shoulder as they walked down the hall with eighteen foot ceilings. On the outer wall were leaded windows cut into little out coves, each window with stained glass of some scene that was difficult to discern without light coming through. They passed a large ballroom, and then what appeared to be a music room, then a solarium. "What does he do with all this room?" he whispered.
She answered softly, "I don't know. Show off his wealth or something. A Solarium for a Vampire seems odd."
He nodded, "Well, I do know that the Count loves his roses. That seems to be very common knowledge around here."
It would be easy to get lost, but both Merrick and Miha had their excellent sense of smell to get them back to the main hallway and the stairs that led up to the rooms on the second floor. "Let's go take a look at our rooms and see if they live up to expectations." He gave Miha a wink.
She was looking around as she explored. Good to know where they were in case of emergency. "Yes, Upstairs would be nice."
