Captain Jack Morgan

Jack had just left the cabin and made his way into the city, heading towards the docks and for that libation he was craving since dawn. Rum. Near accosted by a small boy, he shoved a ribbon tied roll of parchment into his face with one hand and the otherhand waited for his tip, of course. He knew who Jack was, and the pirate had better be grateful that the missive made it to him and not the local Watch!

Captaine Morgan,

It is my hope this missive finds you in good health and in even better coin. If this finds you at all. You could be dead, or worse....alive and hanging from some gnarled rope.

I have traveled far and wide these past few months. My task as the Merchant Captain with the Americas colonies has proven quite lucrative. I have acquired textiles from India as well as a commodity made from flower seeds known as poppies. The people I have traded with seems to really like the smoke from this product. It is quite relaxing, maybe better than rum!

During my layover in my home port of Tortuga I have received word that the colony in the Americas has gone rogue. Apparently the British royals have abandoned the colony to fend for it's self as they have put their resources to fighting the Spanish. Everyone of us who has been working for the Americas colonial fleet has been given a letter of marque to take what we need, and to fight whom we need to in order to survive.

This turn of events is fortuitous for me. I have seized control of the East India Trading vessel I have been sailing and will use it for my own trading purposes. All goods onboard are now in my possession and will be sold, no profit sharing with the Company from now on! This will make sailing into legal ports easier, the guise of a company vessel will provide for good cover as I unload this item made from the flower seeds.

Many of the fine textiles and jewels I will sell keeping some of the nicest items for my personal wardrobe.

The purpose of this missive is to serve you notice and give tell tale word that I will seek you out when spring finally comes.

Your expertise are needed.

Regards,
Captaine Jonathan Beauchamp
