In the days following the tragic passing of Rosie, the deli had been closed and remained quiet. Decisions had to be made and the decision to keep the Deli up and running was really a no brainer. Rosie would have wanted it that way. Dirk knew that the Deli was in capable hands with Sadie, but it was growing too large for one person to be able to handle it. So he offered to come back as a manager.
So, up with the chickens, as usual. He ran to the Deli with a pack on his back. Once to the Deli, he goes to the restroom and changes into his old uniform. It felt like it'd been years since he'd worn it. Looking into the mirror once he was dressed, he smiles crookedly at himself.
Walking out to the front of the store, he flips the lights on and turns the sign over to read "Yes, we're open! Come on in!" Hand painted by Rosie herself. And, as if on cue, the bros from the frat that worked at the Deli arrived. One by one they filed in, all in uniform and ready to work.
Dirk smiles and claps his hands together once. "Brandon, get that radio going! Keith, let's get a batch of those cinnamon rolls working. Let's do this guys!!" he grins and heads towards the kitchen, ready to get back to work.
