Been a little distracted as of late but am going to attempt to continue on with the ghoul | guru posts. I may chop it up a little to separate the present from the past while also introducing Kenji, Jojo's brother, and Nima, one of Jojo's closest friends and also another Ghoul.
To help later on with what is to come, there are four main groups that will be focused on.
Red Eyed Oni's -- Most of those within the Oni ranks descend from Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. This gang mainly consists of Ghouls who not only attempt to blend into society but those that have realized their past mistakes of preying on humans like cattle, refusing to become the monsters that many have made them out to be. Jojo has become their go-to leader and has been for a few years now after the massacre on the 10th Ward in Tokyo left their original leader, Hajime, dead. They are the highest of the Ghoul groups and the most sought after by the Doves.
Devil Naga's -- Devil Naga's have been at war against the Doves for over twenty years and mainly originate from India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. While they, too, believe themselves to be better than monsters, they are not as subtle as the Oni's in blending in and are often targeted for their aggressive nature towards those who would seek to harm Ghouls. Nima is the daughter of their leader, Amal. Oni's and Naga's have worked together on many occasions and are considered the two largest groups of Ghouls to date.
Black Shisa's -- The Black Shisa's are a relatively newer group, consisting of only a few handful of recruits but have become a force to reckon with. Once a Red Eyed Oni, Kenji has left the group to begin his own gang, one that believes that Ghouls are of a higher tier than humans. They do not play by any of the typical rules established in many Ghoul gangs, and are prone to violence to any and all, including the cannibalization of their own kind. Many of them are mentally skewed from the prejudices they have faced and are being viewed as incredibly unstable. Their creed is simple: If you are not with us, you are against us.
The Doves (AKA: Commission of Counter Ghoul) -- The CCG are also known as Doves. This rank of the government is a special ops force that is known to specifically deal with Ghouls through out the world. Many countries have their own CCG operations. Their job is to find Ghouls and eliminate them at any cost, no matter if said Ghoul has committed no crime against humanity. To counter act Ghouls special abilities, they have found a way to amputate a Ghouls own kagune (a Ghouls predatory organ and functions as their weapon) and use it as their own (also known as a quinque).
Just to clarify, many of this is adapted from the anime Tokyo Ghoul.
