The morning dawned at what was that same time, every day but it seemed to come early that day.

S'jira had woken in the middle of the night with a bit of a start to find she had fallen alseep on the couch hearthside the night before. There had been nothing at her door when she had gone to bed, but as she opened it and stepped through the door's way, the gift was there.

Wrapped in a bow and a note upon it. There were even arrows! For anyone in the hall's way or in their rooms that might have been near enough their own doors to have heard it, she laughed. How unexpected it was, and far smaller than the very tall, Elven longbow that had been found a day or so before. This one was manageable even by one as short as she was!

The note was looked to and eyes sought the words on its pages, taking each in with a bigger smile. The bow and its arrows proved to be from a friend and it was for her, indeed.

She eased a bit more. The months, years had not been good at times...and quite wonderful in other moments. This was a wonderful one. 'jira would have to think of what to get him so that he would have a gift as well.

For then, she carefully took the gifts and put them into the room she kept at the inn when it was too late to walk or ride all of the way home. Then she closed and locked the door well before hurrying off for the docks to help the fishermen and the others who worked the docks.

More and more she was alone unless it was to work at the inn or the docks. Time was better with the mending and also with the making of a dress for Kitty that Tasslehofl had requested.

So there was time for practicing with the bow that Peredhil has gifted her with. She had already injured herself a few times when the cord snapped back against her hand when improperly using the bow.

But she was learning it on her own and such was to be expected.

That days was one amongst dozens and she was back at the Glen again to see to practicing. It was there she practiced with the little knife set that Kitty had given her a while back, too.

When it was earlier enough in the day, there was none at all in the area and it was a very safe place for the practicing.

Inwardly, she cringed to think how silly those from her lands would think her or reproach her for even attempting to learn ways of weapons. But the small one was trying.

If she could learn to hunt with the bow, it would mean mean for the table especially in winter and to trade at the markets and at the docks.

Again she was there at the Glen and set up the an old wooden target and started to practice.
