Like most mornings, S?jira was not one to stay too long in the bed when the sun was peeking over the horizon. At the palest hints of light, the small woman was awake but she found herself lingering a bit ? until the sun was creeping up over the shorter rooftops ? to watch Panther sleep.

That morning, she did the same before she finally nudged herself to moving. Kitty had said there was plenty of time to work on her wedding dress and so she had made herself slow down on the work that had begun to hurt her fingers. Not a word had been breathed to her or Panther, but she was glad the task was truly not a pressing one.

While she dressed, she thought of talk from the night before. Talk of weddings. It seemed that was where much talk turned of late for many. But the mention of it was enough to make S?jira?s very heart stammer in its beating. Mentioned even between herself and Panther, she was caught between elation and nervousness over just the thought of it. Much ill could be said of what she had been and now striving to be. She had taken many new steps, but she had simply never thought of marriage for herself. What she was purely didn?t allow for it.

The wood and horsehair brush was drawn through her hair in the half-light of the morning. Absently, she tucked the white lock near her right temple back behind her ear and set the brush aside. A glance about to the room, she moved towards the bed. Care was taken to lift the covers over his sleeping form.

Would she make him a good wife? Could her past be something to harm his status within the area? Question.. after question of it weighed on her heart. But each time, she could not help but smile. She knew well that old habits still slipped into view here and there, even apparent when she was speaking with Kitty night before; chiding her gently of her speech. She nearly laughed aloud, but caught herself in time. All would be well and she would gather the courage for steps yet unknown, whether marriage was one of them or not. Her love was for him and she held his trust. She was glad for them, even if nothing else came.

The belt of simply-tooled leather was buckled about her brown dress at the waist with the coin purse attached to it. Idly, she made certain that soft, small bag was cinched and the coins in it not able to fall out.

Now?she and Panther had been invited to two weddings. How it surprised her. By two she did not know and by Kitty to her wedding. Weddings had been attended before, but always served at. This time, she would be able to see it without the distraction of serving the wine and foods. The invitation was picked up from the dresser to be looked at again, then replaced for Panther to see and read it.

The small woman was soon out of the room and stepping from the inn to head towards the marketplace. It was time for a new dress and perhaps some gifts for those to be wed.

The day of wedding for Johnny and his bride-to-be, S?jira found she was nervous. But it was truly excitement. It would be the first she had attended where she would not be there as a servant but as a guest.

A chill ran through her as she still felt the cool air of the room after the bath, having left the towel to dry over the side of the bathing tub. The room smelled lightly of scented oils, and her skin with it. The brush in her hand paused and she smiled at her reflection in the mirror. Her head lowered, but she kept the smile well and rocked a moment on her feet from heel to toe.

When the brush was put back to the dresser, she moved through the room to where his chair was. Over the back of it lay a fanciful dress of dark blue, thick silk; floor-length and sleeves that tapered down from the wrists. Though nothing of design decorated it, it was very beautiful to her and likely the loveliest of garments she had. Her hand passed over it and delighted in the sensation of it. A shift was donned instead, leaving the dressing for the wedding that evening until the last possible moments. She didn?t dare to ruin it. Putting on the plain, russet dress she?d worn the day before, she fastened a belt of in-ornate leather about her waist.

As she went back to drawing the brush through her hair, she moved towards the window and looked to the courtyard below. Blooms had started on a few of the bushes and leaves were returning to the boughs of some of the trees. Small, simple things, but it all lightened her heart all the more.

The brush was again returned to its resting place and by then she was light on her feet. Sandals? leather straps were wrapped upwards and criss-crossed about her shins and calves and tied off.

Small form slipped out of the room she shared with Panther of late and to her old room to take Elessaria?s finished, silk shawl from it. S?jira?s fingers danced along the beadwork and moved towards the Lady?s room to leave it within that area before leaving it with the door closed and locked.

When she left the inn, it was in the direction of the docks to see Thale, the fisherwoman. It had been days since she had visited with her and there was much in the small woman?s heart to speak of.. and few that she kept company with close enough to prattle on about those things.
