Garet

"So you see my Lady, this... Particular artifact ha-- hails from the Nothern Temple of Doh'vhear, oh wait. I apologize, you already knew that, I mean you sent me there. So as I was-- I Apologize, My Lady."

A pause was taken, as the clearing of his throat became the only sound in the meeting room concealed within the bowels of the 'Onyx Lotus'. Young Garet Jax swallowed once more, as his hand reached for a nearby hankerchief, thus commiting to a sincere wiping of his sweat beaded brow. As his dark eyes looked upon the Ruler of ShinKa herself, one Lady Myllyana. As it stood the 'Lady' looked hardly amused.

Nervous? Actually for the first time in a while he felt that way, as to the why he had no real idea. He knew what this artifact was, he understood why he was sent, and why he was to deliver it himself to the Lady of ShinKa. Of course Garet hardly cared for the details when it came to things of this nature. When the Lady called, Garet answered and commited to whatever she required, as was his standard for her. So why was this time so different? Why was Garet so absent minded, if you will? Even he could not answer that, yet it was painfully obvious that Garet Jax, procurer of artifacts for the Lady Myllyanna was indeed a tad.. How do you say? Ah, yes.. Off of his game.

All that aside, Garet still had a job to finish in the form of his presentation to the Lady, and the more time he wasted, the worse it would obviously be in the end.

"As i mentioned before, My Lady. This particular artifact was recovered from the Northern Temple of Doh'vhear, just a few days ride south of borderland village known as 'Bont'. In any event, this is what you requested and we managed to attain quite a few other trinkets as well." Reaching for a nearby satchel, Garet dipped his hand inside, and began to rummage a bit as he continued. "Starting wi-- Er-- Where did it? Hmm.. Ah yes! I-- It's righ--" That was as far as Garet Jax would get this evening, as the Ruler of ShinKa finally decided she'd had enough.

Before Garet could even finish that thought process, the satchel was rightly snatched from his grasp! His eyes looked up to see the Lady herself directly in front of him, as her own hand slid into the satchel, and with no effort whatsoever produced a most impressive relic that looked akin to a celtic cross. Silver speckles gazed upon the relic a moment, as her long silver nails softly scraped along it's intricate detailing. For a moment, Garet was truly stunned, and looked like cornered game. He swallowed once more, and simply watched the Lady a moment. Suddenly he began to feel better in regards to this encounter, as she truly seemed interested in the relic. Opening his mouth to speak, the words never came.

"Tell me Mister Jax, do I bore you?"

The Lady herself had spoken! The impact of her words simply stunned the relic hunter yet again, as dark eyes blinked and regarded his employer once more. And just as quickly Garet recovered, and responded.

"Why no, My lady you do not-- N--"

"Perhaps it is your job that bores you, perhaps you require a new one?"

"No, My Lady I as--"

"Perhaps it is your life then that bores you? Perhaps.. You need a new one of those, Mister Jax. Hmm?"

"My Lad--"

"Then perhaps Mister Jax, you will care to explain to me, what is so pressing in that mortal mind of yours. What is so pressing that, I am given a half hearted respect and or effort in regards to this presentation of yours? Am I some average Tavern goer, in your mind, Mister Jax?"

Dark eyes widened severely, as Garet Jax nearly soiled himself right there on that exact spot. His mouth opened to stammer out some kind of response, as he was sure this would be his last evening in this realm or any other for that matter. Yet before he could do anything else a hand lifted and stopped his cold.

"That, Mister Jax. Was in fact a rhetorical question."

Myllyanna Lotus

Garet broke like a brittle dam. Telling her everything she needed to know. Everything she wanted to know, and even a lot more then he wanted.

It wasn?t hard to tell when someone like Garet Jax got perplexed. The aura and soul like that screams when it?s troubled. The Dragon Lady loved that sound. And if you listened like she listens, it was like listening to a breaking damn quit literally. First the strain and then the thunder as everything came free. And then all the shadows on top of this and that. Myllyanna was having a fine day.

She lifted her hand after she?d heard just the right amount.

?Mr. Jax,? her hand slowly lowering to the arm of her chair. She stood slowly picking up the signature cigarette holder between two slim fingers. Chong took one step back as Myllyanna walked past him towards a heavily draped window.

?Do not worry yourself a moment more. I want your mind on your studies and on your work. That is what you are best at.?

The lacquered smoke stick slide idling through, back and forth between thoughtful hands as she looked over her shoulder to him.

?You are still here Mr. Jax??

Myllyanna looked over to Chong. The ever the obedient and loyal dog. He stood waiting. Watching his Mistress.

?You know what to do. Gather them once again.?

She turned back to the window, the red paint of her lips curling into a playful smile. This was playtime and this was a rare smile for her. And now none would escape her mood! Just to test Chong...

?And one more. You know who I mean.?

She lifted a brow as she heard Chong miss his step in mid-step. Good. That meant he did know who.

As Chong left, Myllyanna headed towards ShinKa. A twist of nothing and she was nothing more then the scent of Burning Lotus. She would not waste a moment of this.
