After she put the kids to work on the old theater she made herself take a walk around the new neighborhood. She hated sitting still and waiting for things to happen, for people to come to her. Sohail was a doer, always would be.

Old brownstones and broken down shops blurred together in an endless stream of decay. She was halfway past the store when her mind told her feet to stop. They did and she stood, staring at the sign. The Onyx Lotus. It wouldn't hurt to go in; she grabbed open the door and stepped inside to be assaulted by the scent of incense and oils.

Her brows went up at the assortment of items for sale as she moved around. The corrupt wheels in her head were a'turning. She had several crates at the warehouse to get rid of- imports from her contacts on Earth. While they may not be rare on that planet, she knew that many people were still in the dark about off-planet imports and how to get them. She knew she had some dried Water Hemlock and Death Lily that would hopefully prove valuable to the owner.

:: She pushed the beaded curtian to the side as she stepped out of a back room, looking like something straight out of a Japanese Story in her high collared red dress and cigarette in hand.::

Welcome to the Lotus, may I help you?

:: she watched the beauty in her shop, her eyes never blinking but soft and her smile welcoming. Small chimes blown by a fan near the single shop window sung as Mylly stopped and waited in the scent of honeysuckle burning lightly::

She turned at the sound of the beeds and lifted a brow at the exotic woman who emerged from behind them. She tried to smile in what she thought to be a friendly way, but she could never tell- she didn't have much practice at it.

"Nice place yah got going here, interesting wares." Always compliment them first, praise could be a disarming and endearing mechanism. "I was actually wondering who yah buy from? Don't always see this kinda stuff around here, thought maybe if you knew how to obtain this you could get more rare items?"

It was a casual question with a hidden challenge; maybe the girl really did just trade in usual and slightly unusual spells and potions and nothing more.

:: Myllyanna gave a little smile, in thanks for the compliment, even if it was a cordial one. She walked a few steps closer as she listened. ::

"I happen to buy from many far away places," she left her gaze drift slowly to the right letting it settle on tall, slender almost stretched out, woodend cat idol. Her gaze lingered long enough before moving down the isle directing her Guest's attention to them as she went. It was simply to see if the girl showed any sign of reconizing a couple of pieces.

"Some are teasured collections, and some... I grow in my own garden." Mylly stopped and looked like a modernized dragon woman seen on a sailors tattoo. "As for more rare items, It's never a question of obtaining them, it's a question of what someone is willing to pay."

::a slow steam of clove scented smoke escape her small nose::

*Hanzo stepped in the shop as well, his mask over half his face and his hair cast over the rest. His slit pupils and steel gray eyes combined together go form a stare that could chill fire. His focus drifted to the woman he barely noticed, only recognized by the faint scar on her face. He then glanced to the other woman, supposedly the owner of this shop.*

Well... two beautiful women.. and I have not a chance at one of them.. anyways... do you happen to carry any.. poisons? Something I could coat my blade with.. or perhaps something that could be fooled into being ingested? I have decided to help my master rid herself of some shadows in her past.

*He glanced to the woman of oriental descent, before softly whispering to himself.* Sohail Khan... we meet again.

Sohail had been following Mylly's eyes, nodding in appreciation at the collection of rare items she had in her store. Her growing smile faded into an abrupt scowl as Hanzo came inside. She was a creature devoid of any magic, a base human, but she had rather good memory. She could bring up the faces and names of many people she met.

Her only reply to Hanzo's greeting was curt- "Sir." She then turned to Mylly with an apologetic smile, "Perhaps we can continue business at a later point in time- I am in desperate need of a smoke."

Without any further explanation she roughly brushed past Hanzo and stepped outside. Annoyance was clear in her jerky movements as she walked across the street to lean against a building there. Removing one of the cigs that were a constant in her gun holster, she lit it up. She watched the entrance of the shop lazily.

:: She listened to the tiny bell above the door ring to silence as she gazed to Hanzo. She was not so pleased to have lost or had a customer bullied out of her shop. She would figure out a way to get the woman back. ::

"Follow me," Myllyanna motioned as she turned to a wood and glass display table and looked from its different bottles and boxes, each more different then the next but no markings as to its contents.

"As for poisons to ingest, I am out at the moment," it was a lie and it was plain in her eyes. No offence was meant, but one did not just open such illegals to anyone they had not done business with in those matters. While she knew him, she did not yet "know" him that well. "But if you wish protection Poisons... I have a decent selection for you to coat metals in."

She prepared a specialized mix, poured the sticky oil like potion into an unremarkable bottle, and placed the stopper in tight. Myllyanna walked back to him from around her counter holding it for him to see.

"This one will stay through most rains but not total long term submersion or scrubbing. It must strike blood to work so make your cut count should you have to defend yourself; it will not seep through skin and will paralyze and almost stop the heart in very healthy adult male. If they are sickly, it will stop the heart long enough to die...." She looked at him in a matter of fact way, so he knew this was again, business.

She hoped that he understood that just announcing you wanted to buy poisons on the first meet would yeild nothing, a bond, trust, and much, much more money needed to cross hands. :::

"Well it's clear she doesn't like me.." He glanced over his shoulder before shaking his head. " I apologize in for what I have done, I'm starting to imagine you're going to hate me now after this, too." He took the bottle and pretty much overpaid, she didn't announce a price and it'd be embarassing if he underpaid and made himself look poor. A slight bow before slinking out the door, turning in the opposing direction from Khan.

:: she gave him an empathetic grin as she listened to him. She wasn't going to start hating anyone. Not yet.

"An honest mistake Sir. Please come again."

As she walked back to the antique buttoned cash register, she looked out the glass paneled door one last time. She stopped and shifted a spider like hanging fern with red blossoms instead of white, the move caused a puff of pink and red powders in the air that mixed sweetly with the incense that trickled around the room.

He had overpaid her. She settled money away in the register and locked it. It was on purpose she did not announce the price. It was a test he passed well, well enough for her to know what she needed and she would welcome his business again.

She took out a marble mortar and pestle and began working some crushed stone and oil into paste, she waited to see if the Young lady would be coming back in:::

She noted Hanzo's retreat from the store but was in no hurry. No, hurrying would certainly not do. She waited till she was done with her smoke; dropping it to the ground and putting it out with the toe of her boot before pushing off the wall.

She moved across the street and re-entered the store. She didn't offer any apologies or explanations to Mylly as she approached her, thumbs stuck on her belt-loops. "So, I believe I was admiring the variety of items you keep here 'bouts."

"I believe you were also asking about item acquisitions," she smiled briefly yet warm to the young woman.

"But I know I have more then one thing that you might like, or at least find interesting. Perhaps... " she paused my an small but elaborate set of gold, perhaps painted or plated, cages with a mechanical bird in one. Myllyanna continued, "If you had a curiosity I could oblige you."

The beads at the door clipped together, but just faintly. No person appeared but a slinking Siamese cat that was temporarily distracted by the noise and gave them a gentle paw swat before blinking and moving about the shop itself.

"Cigarette?" she held up a sweet exotic clove cigarette for Sohail when her attentuion returned, it's silver case open for her to help herself.

She nodded as Mylly spoke, briefly distracted by the cat entering the shop's main room. Her eyes flickered momentarily to the creature before being brought back to the conversation with the offer of a cigarette- a nice looking clove one at that. Not usually one to refuse, she plucked a cig from the case, "Thanks."

She rolled it around her fingers for a moment, not really wanting to start blowing smoke into the woman's face, "I was actually wondering what type of Earth exports you got in this place. I know items can be hard to obtain from there, 'specially since the people have not always been open to the idea of life outside their own little universe. But, I'm rather fond of Earth-wares myself."

Easy enough, know what the woman had and what she didn't- she would be of no use if Mylly had her own connections that could provide her anything and everything she could want or need.

:: she gave the young woman a thoughtful smile before lighting one of the cigarettes herself.::

I mostly deal with things from the East, from Middle to North and South, and then some from some forests that people don't want to tred in, and be caught in. Then there is some things, just a touch on the grey side of the law. From Items to, hired help.

And of course, there are requested items, those are my biggest sellers. :: the smile had faded from her eyes but mischief boomed in them as she was reading the girls face for a moment.::

Rare antiquities to some of the most unlawful and lawful items people with less then honest intentions would want. Wide variety of thieves tools from several dimensions, potions that drug or sickens or even heals, magical items from ancient times or mechanical with technology unleashed.
Trafficking and contacts are another profitable but silent part, from poachers on one world equals high demand on another, animals to people, it didn?t matter. What mattered was the price and the friends one could make.
If it was rumored to be a ?Black Market? item, she had it or soon would.

Everything that was behind that beaded curtian had a price, that was rarely mentioned, mostly just offered, haggled and sometimes paid in form of a favor to the Dragon Lady you didn't forget.

She was most definitely intrigued, the lift of her eyebrow a sure indicator. "Requested items, you say?" She was suddenly all business, her back straightening in an unrelenting posture, "I was actually wondering where I could get my hands on some good old-fashion pistols. None of these new-fangled blasters, I'd rather shoot a bullet into someone then burn them."

She knew her request wasn't wholly unusual or hard to obtain- not when she suspected Mylly of being able to get her hands on much more rare items. Just as the shop owner wouldn't trust someone like her on the first transaction, she wasn't trusting either. Last time she trusted someone she had ended up with some dirty drugs and almost killed herself. "Yah see, I have a pair but they're hand-me-downs and I really want a fresh new pair of my own. Engraved even. I know you deal more with herbs and the like, but if you could just give me a nudge in the right direction?"

:: she listened honestly and her face reflected her thoughts on what the Young lady was asking for.

"hum..." she gave the girl a silent once over, then nodded. "Okay, I know where to send you. And this you keep to yourself." She trusted that Sohail would, someone wanting pistols in this place was looking to skirt around legal matters or making a show of things.

"Go to Blue, at the Bar or in the VIP lounge you will find the Mexican. Tell Dirty that I sent you. Follow him where he leads you and you will be safe, do not linger. Explain to him what you need only after that."

The siamese jumped upon the counter and bumped at Mylly's hand in asking for a friendly rub behind the ears. She gave the cat a smile and was happy to lavish the small affection. Then her smile turned to Sohail, "I will let him know someone is coming to see him."

She nodded as the woman spoke, easily committing the directions to memory. Written word left too much evidence when one dealt with the gray area of the law.

"I thank you kindly for the information, doll. Unfortunately, it leaves me very much in your debt." She withdrew a card from her pocket, the address for the orphanage scrawled on it, "If and when you want your payment, call for me here. The name's Khan."

:: a very small smile as she took the card between her fingers and folding it into her palm. Tiny bells rang over the front door announcing a new visitor.

"Khan, then I wish you luck. I will give you a call most certainly when when the raw jasmine root comes in."

her voice was just loud enough to be heard by the ~' just looker '~ that walked in, but enough to give Khan a hint the business talk was finished for now. ::

It had been months since Myllyanna stepped physically into her own shop. Things indeed had been kept up well. Ami again had not let her Mistress down.

Myllyanna had taken the Dreamscape to the shop, but things and beings acted differently, looked and felt differently. She was the only one that could slip past the wards she had wove and the curse she had set for any others that tried to visit the shop without their material body.

She had only a small bit on her sharp mind as she walked through the front room. Her slender hand poured over the faithful Siamese that held down the counter and called to her asking for the Dragon Lady's touch.

"I know, I have been gone too long my precious. Ami." Never a waver of her voice as she called to the slip of a girl behind her.

"Put this in the back room. Only bring it out when you know I have said so." And she held out the little stone with her other hand for the girl to take away.

"And when you are done with that. Go fetch it's former owner. It's time for her to visit"

She knew the girl Myllyanna spoke of. She had been given very clear directions back at the Keep while she tended to the Heir.

'Yes Mistress' softly with out simpering.

A lowering nod, she took the stone from the silken hand and backed up in the bow. She held the stone close to her body as she took tiny quick steps around her and then broke the seal of the beaded curtain to stash the stone away in a special place. If there was a reason her Mistress wanted it hidden, she was not going to ask or even look at it!

They tiny jade earrings that dangled from her ears picked up the faint steps going upstairs. They were a gift for her birthday from her segregate mother, so that she would be the only one to hear where and when the haunted walked. That was her mark to take the other way upstairs. She had to get tea ready and quickly and it would end badly if she tried tor hurried past Myllyanna on the stairs.

Tea, then a run to the Inn. Maybe she would ask Chong to come along. She hated the place. Too many unknown faces.

Having had a bit of a run in with what she could only define as demon, she slept for the better part of two days, her body using the time to heal. Upon waking, she rose in a panic, silver gaze widening as she realised not only had she slept far too long, but she was nude. Medea never slept nude, it left her at too much of a disadvantage should she need to defend herself. Quickly, she saw to bathing, dressing, and darted down the Inn's stairs, it was late evening, and two full days had past while she slept.

Invited for a walk in order to explain the nature of her now healed injury, she eagerly went, the fresh air more than welcome after the stuffy and crowded atmosphere of the inn. She took her time explaining to Brian what had happened, what she sensed, and the little bit she knew. He asked questions, and she answered what she could admitting to a frustrating amount of queries about the situation herself. She then discussed with him bits of her thoughts, dreams and concerns in regards to her future, and the fear that she had slept right through her appointment with Lady Myllyanna. Brian assured her there was yet time, and that the Lady would call for her soon.

Strolling back to the inn alone, she realised that even with the unknown hanging over her, the fears of Fatin sending blades for her, and the uncertainty of how she would survive now .. she was still happy. A quick bite to eat, and she was off to bed once more, still more tired than a body that had slept for two days had any right to be.

With the morning, she hung around the inn, eager to meet up with Ami, the Lady having said she would send her for Medea when it was time, and she was determined not to miss her. Medea bumped into Jenai, who informed her that Ami had indeed called for her, and would likely be back, this knowledge redoubled her determination to stay close, she wouldn't make the Lady wait longer than she must.

And she didn't.

Ami quietly walked into the bar. Closing the door slowly to avoid making too much sound. She had been given an image of the one she sought by her Mistress and let her plain brown eyes look across those gathered.

The girl that could not be much older the Ami came into view. Ever quiet, she politely made her way over to the table. Her eyes cast away from anyone that even remotely looked her way.

Soft and refined, " Excuse me. Miss." A dip of her chin as she stood there, her hands held each other.

"My Mistress asks that I seek you for her audience."

~seeing the girl, she looks up, a slow smile curling her lips as she nods lightly. Trained all her life as a thief, there wasn't much she missed and admittedly she was slightly surprised that the girl seemed so young, but then again, she wasn't so very old herself. Rising to her feet, she nods lightly, flaming curls shifting in a cascading riot around her shoulders with the movement~

"I've been expecting you, sorry I missed you the first time, its a long story."

~Clad in hip hugging jeans and a brilliant emerald button down half shirt, she grins and says softly.~

"I'm ready if you are."
