Topic: Another Visit from Hina

Insomnia seemed to be gripping at her. She didn't even know why she slept at all some times. Heavy eyes and a slow stride were her friends tonight it seemed. Her head dipped low as she meandered around the corner. Seems the last time she was in this area was when she had brought food to the boys. She didn't have food, but she did bring two twenty four packs of Badsider Brew.

Her hair was pulled back in a loose braid. She knew it was late/ early. Hell it was five in the morning! But she figured someone would be up at this damned hour, or just going to bed. Perhaps she could find out a few things while she was here.. Perhaps meet up with more of the brothers... Who knew?

Things had changed in her a lot since her last visit. Then she was full of magic and afraid of her own shadow. Now she was sealed from her magic and afraid of everyone else's shadow except her own. Turning on her tennies she stopped before the gates and gave a blank stare towards the guard house. It wasn't exactly warm either. She didn't know what to call this weather.... Raining one moment and then not another moment.

If anyone was looking out their window right now all they'd see was a shadowed figure carrying two big boxes wrapped up in plastic. Wearing a tank top and sweat pants... made from the same fabric as a kilt. Her hair was getting matted and extreamly wet at this point. Common there had to be an insomniac among one of the Pi Boys.

Oh the mistery.... For now she'd just fight that growing tired strain and focus on finding a Pi Boy who she either knew or thought she was pretty enough to let in.... Hell she didn't even care if he was drunk at this point! She was getting cold!

If any of the brothers would be awake, out of all of them, Gage would definitely not be one of them. Usually the one to sleep in late, hell sleep as much as he can, that's Gage. However it has been a strained last few days, with a brother that recently came back to the compound, Gage has been awake, if not all day and night to keep watch of everything. Making sure that, that brother doesn't cause too much trouble when he is around.

Today being no different. The scent of another person at the gate has already come to Gage's senses, and who it is. The coolness of the morning is welcomed for Gage, walking around in just his sweat pants himself, the dew and light rain feels good on his bare chest. Most of the time Gage's temperature is something that evades being regulated.

He moves slowly around the guard shack and regards Hina behind the gate. "There have been rather large wolves around here killing all of the animals, I wouldn't be surprised if people are next. You should be very careful walking around alone. Wouldn't want anything to happen to any of you girls, you know?" His deep voice holding no threat of course, but rather a promise.

Stepping up to the gate he grins that boyish grin that causes both of his cheeks to dimple. "How are you, Hina? You look cold as hell." He chuckles as he opens up the gate and reaches his large hands out for the wrapped packages she is holding. "I'll carry those for you. And you look like you could use a towel and some hot coffee." Golden hues glance behind her, or rather over her head, and then back down to her face. "Come on."

The appearance of Gage Parker Reynolds was one she wasn?t expecting. That was alright however. Yet she still didn?t expect to see his bare chest. She didn?t let this phase her. Slowly her silver blue orbs followed him, taking in his every action and knowing instantly something was going on? She lifted a brow, his words troubling her.

? Yeah I know. I kinda gathered that the Pi Boys would always have the girls? back.? Just what had she been missing by hiding herself away with work? Wolves killing animals and soon possibly humans. Great.

She was growing rather tired of reminders of Quinn being every where she went. Seeing that boyish grin on his face she bit back a few choice words about that grin. Her eyes shifting about before she replied,? I?m cold yes? More or less right now I just feel alone.? Her own words had her confused. Honestly, if she was alone couldn?t she just go to the CZK house? Something brought her steps to the gates before her, but she didn?t know what.

At his offer she only extended one of the twenty four packs to him. A weak smile forming on her lips she managed a simple reply,? Thanks? I got this one if that?s alright.? The word towel and then the word coffee made her smile to him faintly. Only nodding as she looked upwards, letting the rain shower over her face lightly,? Sounds great? But only if I?m not intruding. I know it?s early and most if not all the guys are sleeping.?

She took note of the way he was acting. Her head turning to look behind her as he did. Nothing seemed amiss? but to Gage something was definitely off. She felt her curiosity growing when she nodded to his last words. Beginning to move forwards while she glanced back up to him,? Would you mind letting me know what?s going on, Gage? Something seems to have you a bit? Paranoid.?

Eyes the color of spun honey gazed out at the pair from the dark confines of the thick underbrush that lined the security fence. His lip curled in a silent snarl as the tender morsel approached carrying something. He sniffed the air and the hackles stood on the back of his neck. A girl, young but not fresh. The wolf shook his head. The stories about virgins tasting sweeter was merely a myth. They tasted no different.

Tearing his gaze from them, he looks up at the sky. The misty rain matting his thick gray and white fur. There was no moon and he felt lost without it's serene company. Lifting his blood mottled muzzle to the sky, he cries out the sorrow of the lunar absence.

Gage's scent was strong in his nostrils. But then, Gage has a certain presence that simply could not be denied, even if this wolf would like to. Sitting back on his haunches, he tilts his head to the side. Ears pointed straight up, he listens to their conversation, thus far. A nod of his head, he agreed with Gage. This was a dangerous place indeed.

Pushing with his hind legs, he comes to a stand. The white tipped tail held low and behind him as he started towards the gate. Silently he padded along, constantly sniffing the air. And the air was full of the lush aroma of the woods that surrounded them. The rain water had stripped the acrid pollution from the air and the plants, making it much easier to follow the aromatic trail of his prey.

Getting to within a few yards of Gage and Hina, he stops once again. He considers them carefully. Would the taste of flesh, blood and bone of the scant woman's body be worth the inevitable fight that would ensue between himself and Gage?

A simple shake of his head and he moves to leave the spot he's in. As he trots in the opposite direction, he barks twice, then howls long and plaintively. The girl simply wasn't worth it.

?Never mind. I think I get the picture.? It was all she had to say at that point. Her nerves were already frayed. Once more she lifted her head to look at the pouring clouds. No light but the glow from the guard house filled the surrounding area.

She turned her eyes to seek out the source of the sound. It was so close. Why was it she always needed to be curious about things at this point? The silence, the silence, it was so eerie. Knowing now that it was dangerous place to be. However she found she didn?t care, she didn?t care even if fear was pumping through her veins.

She didn?t know what kind of issue was to ensue with her there. Didn?t even know that the wolf was weighing on if she would be a prime meal which could be easily captured in the continuing downfall. Hina was nervous, almost horrified when she heard the barks. Her head snapping towards the sound as she took a step back.

That howl churning her insides as she gazed wide eyed from the direction of the source and back to Gage,? Friend of yours?? Sarcasm so easily used in a moment like this. She twitched for a moment, the rain not being the only thing to form goose bumps over her skin. Her eyes closed and she moved to calm herself. Voices starting to whisper in her head and growing louder by the moment.

Her head shook and she muttered to herself,? Shut it? This isn?t the time to go into a spill about how I?d sound being ripped apart?? More like whispered to herself. The joys of certain spells casted on her as of late was more than apparent. Even old scars covered up with magic had become apparent.

Another shiver trailed up her spine and she set down the box of beer within her hand. Pulling the bag away from it and quickly tearing at it in certain places. Damn it wasn?t raining when she had left her place. Moments later she was wearing the garbage like bag, not used for that purpose of course, like a rain coat. Shielding her from the cold rain that would certainly make her ill if she stayed out much longer in it,? Gage..?? Only speaking his name with the hopes that he was still responsive.

(Only posting this because Sunday might be the next time I'm able to post.)

"Not intruding at all." Gage shakes his head and takes the one wrapped package she has handed out to him. Holding it tightly under one arm, he closes the gate behind her once she has stepped in. His eyes continue to look out through the bars of the gate, however he knows that the one thing he is looking for is inside this gate, within the compound and it makes him grit his teeth.

"You are right, most of the brothers are sleeping, only a few of us seem to be up this early." He turns around and stands next to Hina. Dirk's presence is known, has been known, hell he can smell that sickening scent of Dirk miles away. His nostrils flare and he sneers slightly, looking away from Hina for the moment, his golden hues scan the surrounding woods. Voice low and only for Hina, though he knows there is an eavesdropper close by, could Hina possibly know that she is now in the presence of possibly the two most dangerous men of the compound? "Paranoid? No. More like annoyed." A soft mutter and he turns his gaze to Hina. "Stay close and it will be alright. I would break his neck before he could even open that mouth of his."

The conversation before this has stayed with Gage, that she mentioned feeling alone. Something he wants to divulge more on, a friend needing help, needing to feel welcomed, and especially one of the girls that Gage would always vow to look after. And even if it scarred Gage's body more, he would make sure to keep up that vow. Dirk doesn't fight fair, but then neither does Gage.

As Dirk finally made himself visible to both him and Hina, Gage growls lowly and his jaw sets tightly. His free hand balls up into a tight fist and he shakes his head. "Back off.." He whispers and directs it straight to Dirk, a lower growl, threatening.

Hina calling his name, shakes him from the glare at Dirk, he turns and smiles at her. Smiles. "Him? Friend? Fuck no." He grumbles and puts his free arm around Hina's small and shaking shoulders. "Don't worry, I'm right here and he knows that if he even tried it, he would be dead. Simple and sweet and I wouldn't regret it in a fucking second." He says a bit loud for a reason, and he is more then dead serious.

Not caring to see Dirk again, he ushers and helps Hina get to the house and up the steps, opening the door for her and even lightly pushing her inside to just make sure she is safe. He turns and looks out over the yard for a few moments. "Pay for that." He growls and then steps inside, slamming the front door behind him.

"Coffee and a towel?" As he looks down at Hina, a soft smile for her. "Then you can talk to me about what's wrong, about what you said before. Being alone... I'm a good listener." He nods and hefts the package back up and starts walking towards the kitchen.

Once in the kitchen, he sets the beer on the counter and heads around the bar, he goes about getting the coffee and gathering everything needed then to the coffee maker, once it is all done he flips it on and turns to look at Hina. "Be just a few minutes, so.. towel." He grabs one of the larger kitchen towels and leans across the bar to hand it to her, but he stays leaning over it and watching her. "I could try and find one of the girls if you would rather talk to them? I don't want to make you uncomfortable and that welcome, with Dirk out there, probably didn't help."

Gage hadn't been the only one awake at this ungodly hour. Without Gage in the bed beside him, Jessie tossed and turned fretfully. Sleep was just a hairsbreadth away, but eluded him none the less. After laying there for hours, he decided to get up and take a walk. He knew better than to go find Gage, so he kept to the graveled pathways behind the main compound.

He was dressed in only a pair of black night pants and matching housecoat. The rain did not seem to bother him in the slightest. Stopping at the bench where his telescope was set up, he even sat for a spell. Looking to that telescope longingly, he knew it would be of no use tonight. Not with the cloud cover obscuring the beloved stars from view. More than once he sighed heavily, his mind churning.

When he was walking, his hands were dug deep into the housecoat's pockets. Kicking a stone or two back onto the path is how he simply wandered. When he got to the main house, he noticed the lights on in the kitchen. A smile on his face, knowing that his brothers can be night owls at times. Then the comforting aroma of freshly brewing coffee wafts into his nostrils. He smiles and with a quickened step, walked up to the house. Opening the door, he slides into the kitchen area.

His smile grew as he saw his beloved Gage. Amber eyes take in the scene and he skirts around Gage to pour the coffee for all three of them. He knew that Gage was in some sort of discussion with the girl, so he kept quiet and out of the way. He only made his presence known when the coffee was delivered to the other two. Leaning on the bar, he kisses Gage's cheek softly, then moves away once again. Grabbing his mug, he finds a comfortable chair across the kitchen from them. Holding said mug between his hands, he sips and watches the pair over the rim.

One glimpse was all she allowed herself of the wolf. Hearing how defensive Gage had gotten warned her through and through, that was not a natural wolf. Yet, when the name ?Dirk? was spoken to her, her eyes went wide in horror. She turned her head back almost instantly to look at the wolf, unable to go without another glimpse. Her voice quivered the name,? Dirk??

It was so easy to see that the world of the Pi Boys was just as normal as Rhy?Din itself. Hina was at odds with Rhy?Din now. Now in the vast majority that was just simple human. Even if she didn?t smell human? Jadey said she did. Taking those steps pushed upon her she was almost eager to be within a dry building. A sanctuary to say the least and she knew it a bit better now. After all, how many times had she snuck in here to be with Quinn?

Hopeful eyes scanned the place for a moment. Expecting the runner to come dashing down the steps or around a corner, but nothing? Just nothing. What was it she was expecting? The boy was long gone. Hina turned her attention elsewhere. Soon finding herself in the kitchen and accepting a towel from Gage?s hands.

She drew the towel slowly over her wet arms and face. Matted it over her damp tank top and sweats once she had removed her makeshift raincoat from her frame. Once she had made little progress anywhere but her arms and face she brought it up and wrapped it around her wet locks of brown hair. Her silvery eyes going back to Gage for a moment as he fixed coffee then to Jessie as he entered the kitchen. Seeing the kiss to the cheek it didn?t take long to realize that Gage was a lucky man. He had found someone who adored him. Hina couldn?t help but be happy for him.

Talk to the girls on the issue? No, she couldn?t talk to them anymore. She was sure her issue was bothering them enough. After all she had just aggravated Jadey to the point where Hina knew she would get angry if another word was uttered. So she?d keep to seeing confidence from the boys that knew Quinn well. It was the least she could do.

Bringing the coffee to her lips she looked once more over the kitchen before looking between Jessie and Gage with a soft smile. A shrug came from her shoulders while she leaned back on one of the counters. Already feeling warmer then she had before. She looked over to the two boxes, one lightly soaked, the other still wrapped in plastic. The other plastic bag tossed aside and into the bin, dribbled in rain water.

She lifted her head after a few moments of silence and spoke lightly,? I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to Quinn? It seems he?s been gone for a month and I?m quite worried about him. It?s gotten to the point where the sisters have told me he?s not coming back and to move on without him.? Even Jadey had said that. She didn?t know if that was quite the wisest thing to do, but she found herself seeing their point all too well.

Another sip was drawn from the mug cradled in her hands. Her eyes falling on both the men for a moment before she went back to speaking with Gage,? I was hoping he would have at least left word.? Word would have been nice to have, but her gut was telling her? at this point there was none. No word. Nothing.

As Hina took the towel, he had seen and smelled her shock and horror before they came into the kitchen, from just the name she spoke. Gage's eyes have already turned back to the normal green-blue and he keeps the secret of just what he is as well. Not wanting to scare Hina even further.

Fingers grasp tightly to the counter as Hina dries herself off and he smiles at her a bit grimly. His eyes look over Hina's face and of course he can tell there is something terribly wrong, though as Jessie came into the room, Gage's stare has been removed from her. He leans to the side so Jessie' wouldn't have to jump up to even kiss his cheek, after all Gage is rather tall, something that the curse added to.

"Good morning." He smiles at Jessie, then takes the cup offered from Jess into his hands and holds it tightly, engulfing it with his massive hand is more like it. Green-blues watch Jessie curiously for a few moments, then they travel back to Hina as she began to speak. When she is done, Gage sits there for a long while, as if trying to figure out how to say what is on his mind about the situation.

"Quinn." Is spoken out softly and his own shoulders relax as he stands more upright. The cup is brought up to his lips and he takes a careful sip. "I'm going to be honest with you, Hina.. I hardly knew, or know Quinn. I rarely saw him around here. And to be honest, I didn't even know he was gone. So many brothers come and go everyday, one minute they are here, the next they have gone off to travel. Or gotten married and left. Quinn wasn't someone I was exactly close to." Gage always has been the one to speak his mind, despite the reaction he could possibly get. But one thing is certain about Gage, he is honest.

"As far as I knew, he was here, or not here. I think I saw him once. Not that it's his fault, I was traveling most of the time, not even living here for a long while. Jessie and I just recently came back. But no, I haven't heard word of Quinn or where he might of gone. I'm not sure any of us would know." Sad smile now to Hina, hoping that what he has said hasn't hurt her even further. "I'm sorry that I can't be of more help."

With Gage?s words Hina seemed to shut off for a moment. His honesty was appreciated, but that still didn?t help the feeling in the pit of her chest. Pain. She knew that life with Quinn and wanting to be with him was too good to be true, and it had proved itself in that instant. He didn?t even write her to say good bye, didn?t even tell her he was going and if he was going to come back. No? When it came down to it she was left behind. Again.

Yes this was different then Skid just suddenly not caring. Yes this was different then Gakobe turning into an abusive drunk. This was a good man? A man that had loved her just turning and leaving her without a word stating anything to make her feel better. In a sense they were all the same in some reasons, they had all taken a piece of her and she let them without weighing the consequences. Was it really that wrong of her to put everything out there on her sleeves and show who she could be?

Hina was at a loss for words for quite some time. Suddenly feeling as if her soul had died a little. Trying to be her and the best she could be just wasn?t working. So in that moment, she gave up. If she wasn?t happy with her life she should just change it so she could be. And any situation like that was nothing to bring a man into. She knew she had problems, and she knew she had to fix them. She had just hoped that once in her life? She wasn?t doing it alone.

Seems she had prices to pay for making things work. For making her life different in order to hold her son again. Sacrifices were made and she was proud of every one of them. As she stood there in that kitchen, taking in the sight of two very wonderful men who loved each other she admired them. They were happy and at peace with things. At least that?s how it seemed.

She brought the mug to her lips, letting the chocolate liquid slide down her throat without a second thought. Her silvery eyes closed and she nodded. Knowing by now the silence she was giving seemed too long and would worry those she didn?t want to be a trouble to. Setting down her mug she glanced about for a moment before speaking, honestly avoiding the subject she now considered closed with Gage?s words,? Now, the next thing is? I would like to make breakfast for you and the Pi Boys if that?s alright? It?s the least I could do for you allowing me to come in so early.?

It was at this point she went as far as looking around for the appropriate items to cook with. She knew the house would be stocked, and if not she?d make a quick run for the items she needed. It wasn?t like the Pi Boys would all start flocking to life within the hour? It was only? She looked to the clock? Five fifty. Heavens she hadn?t been this early since back when she was getting her shop started.

Her head turned to glance at Gage,? I know this is probably odd, but I know my way a bit around this place? Granted, I didn?t know if I was allowed to be in here so it was usually sneaking about in the middle of the night for a drink. It was the once in a blue moon sneak over to stay with? Him.? But she cleared her throat and went back to browsing for the items she needed for breakfast,? So don?t worry about me making a mess or not finding anything, and whatever I use I?ll be sure to replace.?

She just wanted something to do.
