Evelyn?s office.
Lydia sat in front of the woman?s desk, her fingers drumming against the wood as she stared the older woman dead in the face. ?I?m done with the lies. I?m done with the tip-toeing? Where. Is. He?? the question was almost hissed beneath her breath. Her fingernails sank into the finish of the furniture, as her jaw clenched and those crazy eyes continued burning a hole through her fellow-blonde?s forehead. ?Well!??
Evelynn?s own jaw clenched, she took in a breath that made her collarbone and throat pop out slightly and she averted those eyes before swallowing hard. ?Lydia, dear,? she said in a low tone, as if they were in a public restraint and she was on the verge of making a scene?instead of the privacy of Evelynn?s home office. ?I don?t know what it is with you and your obsession with that boy, but it?s unhealthy? Nobody made him leave, dear.? Those dark eyes stared across to see the girl nearly hyperventilating, her hands came up as if it were a burden. ?Remember your coping exercises, you?re going to get yourself all worked up again and??
?Where is he?!? the demanding question rang out with the sound of the lamp crashing against the wall, cutting Evelynn?s attempt to be civil off at the knees. ?I?m done playing these fucking games with you! I?m done!? she said, swiping her arm across the surface and knocking everything?computer and all?off the desk. ?Tell me where he is! I know that you know!?
?Fine,? she practically hissed, moving to gather her things and straighten up. ?The last I heard, he was on some sort of job... Tracking some?monster girl. I don?t know anything else, but it doesn?t matter, because you can?t leave, Lydia.? Staring across at the woman who seemed to be on the cusp of a mental breakdown. ?He left because he was ready, and you?re not there yet? I?m afraid if you continue obsessing over him, you never will be. You need to let this go, Lydia. Not just for him, but for you? You need to focus on getting where you need to be.?
?To hell with this place? To hell with you! I?m done! You don?t own me, god damn it!? Lydia threw up her arms and stomped out of the room, moving straight toward the front door. The sound of things clattering and shattering were heard all the way out of the house as the psychopath threw yet another tantrum.
Evelyn sighed, hung her head a moment, and then pushed up to follow after the girl.
