Ice Breaker
Meeting Amber

A few paces off the beaten path through the lush foliage of the glen left along a small trail of hazy white flakes, left sitting on leaves and bushes, frost patterns in the shape of hand prints along tree lines leading off to a small pond, oddly frozen in the middle of autumn. Obscured from the surroundings by it's oddity and yet, glistening. Easily noticeable. Humming a soft tune to herself as she moved, a girl skid across the surface of the ice on her bare feet, sliding along in circles. In nothing more than a pair of shorts and a camisole. Her pale skin gave off a somewhat certain vibrancy. A glow. As if the sunlight reflected off her bare flesh. Absentmindedly pulling her blonde hair up into a ponytail as she continued to weave and sway along with no effort at all.

It was those unique handprints that Kenna had followed. Having taken yet another trip to the Glen, her own little reprieve of the estranged creatures that frankly had her unhinged in the city. The Glen offered the least bit of familiarity of home, that little bit of normal in the hectic abnormality of Rhy'Din that she'd managed to hold onto. Her sandy light brown hair fell loose and straight around her shoulders, cascading down over the beige sweater-dress she was adorning. Beneath was a pair of simple black leggings, cropped to her calves and finished with a pair of brown Rocket Dog sneakers. Yes, she actually had a pair of those. Like always, her journal was clutched in her hand. A leather bound book that she'd had for years now. The pages were no longer neat, uneven and creased by years of use yet she still had pages yet to fill. But that notion had been disregarded as she came upon the lake, having followed those frosty hands to the pond. She stopped in her tracks not far off from the pond, staring at the girl who seemed perfectly comfortable skating on bare feet along the frigid ice..... In Autumn? It was far too early for that. It seemed even the Glen held little normalcy for the Djinn today. Yet, she stood there. Staring with wide, doe-like honeycomb orbs that had turned quickly into globes at the sight of the girl.

Though to the naked eye the blonde seemed completely aware of her newfound company. However in truth that were far from the case. For awhile she continued to her actions. Primarily just attempting to ignore. However the gawking caused distraction. It wasn't long before her focus dropped, and her body shortly after. Falling onto her rear end on the ice with a prompt thud, only to slide across the ice on her posterior. "Ugh. That's embarrassing. Hello stranger." she practically hissed with a sarcastic tone. pausing momentarily before scoffing. her entire demeanor instantly switching the moment her gaze snapped toward the stranger. "So, come to gawk or talk, sweetie? You look lost."

She was more studying the girl, trying to figure out the entire situation. How the pond could be frozen when it couldn't be any less than 40 degrees out, how the girl was skating across the ice with bare feet alone. Even how she looked somewhat majestic as she did it.... at least up until she busted her rear and Kenna flinched at the sight. She winced, even though it had nothing to do with her. She edged forward, moving quickly but trying to keep her balance as she moved toward the girl who'd fallen on her backside. She tossed the journal aside, caring for it yet it wasn't quite her concern at the moment. To the girl's words, "Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean to mess up your... ice... skating?" She seemed more quizzical on what the girl was actually doing, considering her lack of skates. "It's not every day you see a frozen pond this time of ye-... oof!" Rocket Dogs were not meant for walking on ice. Having been moving across the pond in aim to help the one fallen, her feet slipped out from under her and timber went the Djinn. She flopped much like a starfish and sprawled, only to let out a chiming laugh. "I should stick to my day job.." she grunted, rolling to her side and sat up, rubbing her elbow which had knocked into the ice.

Though the impact hadn't given her any trouble at all, it did the ice. And with the new associate's tumble not too long after.. Well it's pretty obvious. Scrambling up to her feet to help the girl out who'd fallen trying to help her, she managed out one step. The ice gave way, and there she was. Clawing her way out of the out of place frigid water. grumbling under her breath. It didn't take her much effort to escape the after however. Quickly sliding up onto the ice surface, only to then sprawl out beside the stranger. "Next time, you might wanna not step on ice in sneakers. There's a reason mine are sitting over there near the edge." turning her head to set her gaze on the girl. More so her elbow. "You hurt your elbow? Amber by the way. In case you were wondering." Apparently the blonde didn't care much for drawing out introductions.

It was the sound of cracking ice that had hit the Djinn's ears, eyes snapping wide again as she lifted her head to see the other blonde falling through the ice. "Crap!" She squawked, scooting back to stay clear of the broken ice but held her hand out, grabbing the girl's arm or whatever she could if able to help her out of the frigid water. With the girl out of the water and sprawled, she heaved out a sigh that puffed out her cheeks and flopped back. In such a short amount of time, it had turned out to be quite eventful. "I'll keep that in mind..." she snickered, "huh?... oh.. Yeah." She had forgotten about the twinge of pain crawling up her arm until it was mentioned and she curled her arm and extended it to stretch it out. No real harm done, just... "Hit the funny bone." She scrunched up her nose, feeling the pain quickly dulling as it subsided before looking over at her from her sprawled position on the ice, clearly not minding the cold. "Kenna," in return to Amber's introduction. "In case you were wondering," she smirked slightly, slowly bringing herself to a sitting position before looking around, as if contemplating standing up.

Watching her moments ardently words shuffled from her mouth the moment she'd caught wind that this Kenna girl might just attempt to stand. "I wouldn't. Army crawl. You can't fall if you aren't standing. Ah dammit!" Slamming her fists against the ice, or so it seemed anyway. "There goes my fucking smokes." Her gaze lowered to her lap. Towards the wet pack halfway stuck out of her shorts pocket. Raising herself up to her feet with complete ease on the ice, she paused. Extending her hand out to the young looking girl. "Or I can help you across. Assuming you don't mind cold hands." A quick glance of her eyes shooting down the girl before returning to meet Kenna's face. "But something tells me you don't mind cold things much. Am I right?" The corners of her lips twitched slightly. Hinting at the holding back of a grin flash.

She'd actually considered army crawling or some form of crawling at Amber's suggestion. Pausing in actually employing the use of such an action, she jumped slightly and turned her head toward the girl at the sound of her fists slamming into the ice. Raising her brows at her, she crinkled her nose at the mention of cigarettes. "Maybe it's your sign to quit," though she didn't sound genuine on it, portraying more of a joking demeanor to her words. When she stood to her feet and held out her hand, she didn't seem hesitant in taking the hand offered. She was a trusting one, that Djinn. To an extent. Nothing about Amber had her radar going off the hinges, considering the sight of the iced pond and the mention of cold hands. Being called out, she smiled lightly and tossed out a card of honesty. "No... never have. Parents always found it strange when I went out in shorts and a tank top in the middle of winter." She shrugged, pushing herself gingerly to her feet, almost falling on her rear a second time but found her balance. Though she probably looked like she was doing squats with her feet spread apart and her knees bent some until she shuffled her feet together to stand upright. Puffing her cheeks, she nodded. "I'm good, I'm good." Baby steps.

Amber listened quietly as Kenna responded to her. A smirk slipping across her features directly after the scoff emitted at the stilling of Kenna's lips. "I bet. If your parents are normal people. Don't worry, I won't judge you for being a polar bear in disguise. Flopping on frozen likes and the like." Her remark trailed along a short lapse of chuckling. "Are you parents normal? Cause you know, if they aren't. That's called hypocrisy." Making sure to take small steps along the ice to pace herself with Kenna. Making damn sure she didn't drag the girl across to the grass. Once escaping the confines of frozen water Amber simply plopped down as she released the girl's hand, beside the water. Elbows pressed on bent knees. Resting her chin on her hands. "So what's an innocent looking girl like you running around in the glen alone for? Don't you know wild animals eat people?"

There was a bit of a chiming laugh that came out when she made the claim of her being a polar bear. "Better a polar bear than a penguin. I'd look terrible in a suit." Making small baby steps toward the edge of the lake, her lips twisted as she chewed on the inside of her lip. Pondering just how honest she should be, but clearly this girl wasn't normal and from what she'd noticed of the city itself, normalcy was scarce. She wouldn't seem too far out there. "They're normal... Humans..." a slight shrug as she moved on much more sure footing once she was free from the ice and was on solid, less slippery ground. She moved over to the discarded journal, picking it up and wiping the dirt and earth from it as she shrugged lightly. "I don't know who my actual parents are. Clearly... not normal." She scoffed, making her way to Amber only to plop down beside her and set aside the journal, her knees pulled up to her chest as she pulled the hem of the stretchy fabric over them before curling her arms around her slender legs. Glancing over to the girl, she couldn't deny her words. Most didn't like the sound of 'innocent' but Kenna knew she was, she wasn't stupid. She was lacking a great many experiences most people her age had already indulged in. "Yeah, they do," in terms of wild animals. Glancing over to her with those honeycomb hues, she shrugged again. "But from the looks of it, there's plenty in the city that will do the same. I'll take my chances."

"Course you aren't normal. At first sight of me any normal person would have fled at the sight of me, not gawked." Snickering trailed after her words. Short lived, as she quickly heaved a sigh afterwards. "That, and your nipples aren't hard. And you're right next to me. That isn't normal. In case you hadn't put it together yet, I froze the pond." Casting a side glance at the girl while holding a faint smile on her features. "Being adopted sucks doesn't it? Not knowing who the hell made you the freak you are. No one to blame, no one to thank. Just mildly existing while trying to cover up what makes you stand out." Pausing in her more or less speech to heave a second sigh before resuming. "Can't cover it up from yourself though. You are what you are, a freak. Luckily around here even though a good portion of the things here accurately so will eat you, at least being a freak is what's normal around this place. Hell, I'd hate to be normal here."

She listened, making a face when she brought up someone fleeing from it. She didn't see anything particularly to fear about the instance. Unless you had a strange phobia of cold or ice... then maybe. Or perhaps Kenna was just naive. That was a likely reason. A flood of color spread across her cheekbones at the blunt nature of Amber, bringing up the lack-of-hardness of nips, she couldn't help but hug her legs tighter to her chest and make a nervous light cough. Deciding not to linger on the subject of nipples, she glanced slightly at the girl. "I had a feeling it had to do with you... like I said, or tried to before I busted my butt. It's not every day you see a frozen pond this time of year." Silenced as Amber started her speech, she listened intently. She blinked, looking toward the pond for a moment at the realization that the person beside her understood. It wasn't a feeling she'd found very often, less and less at the discovery of what she was. She held no resentment over what she was toward her birth parents, but there were questions that she knew that would be so much easier to be find the answers to without having to go to an entirely different realm to find out about. Not that she had much of a choice in ending up here. "It doesn't really suck.... I love my parents, they deserve the title more than my birth parents." She shrugged, turned those tawny hues on Amber. "But answers would've been nice.. I'm going to go ahead and assume you're adopted, too. I can't imagine you could understand without being in the same boat, more or less." Wrinkling her nose, she couldn't help but laugh at the last part. "What kind of a world is it when normal is a pariah, huh?" Snickering, she couldn't help but shake her head to the notion.

"One full of wonder. Or a vile despicable place. Eyes of the beholder and whatnot." Heaving another sigh before suddenly raising to her feet. Leaning forward to place her fingertips along the edge of the frozen lake. Within a few moments the cracks and broken sheets began to reform. Connecting together to reform the smooth previous surface. "I was. Back before I died. From that last comment, I'm going to assume you weren't born here. So, what world are you from? This place seems connected to all worlds through the time threads. The unformed plane if you're into the whole voodoo thing. Either way, you want to know a world were normal is abnormal? Either look around Rhy'Din. Or try imagining being the human raised by orcs." As her sculpture had been reformed, Amber returned to her previous seating position. Facing toward Kenna as she casts a smile. "My abilities over ice came naturally to me at first. Though it made me a freak to what I called my people, it made me strong. So they had no choice but to respect it."

Nodding along to her first words, she listened. She was good at that. She wasn't absolutely horrid at social interaction, but it wasn't her strong suit. It was a work in progress, though. Steady eyes watched at the ice play in front of her, head tilting as that silky curtain of hair shifted over her shoulder and fell over her arms. "That's awesome," she whispered unwillingly, clearing her throat. Even though she was anything but a human, such displays hadn't been caught by the eyes of the Djinn. She was fascinated by all things supernatural since discovering she was a part of that world, and it seemed all those myths she'd read about as a child were real. Blinking, she snapped out of her silent reverie at the formation of questions from Amber, shaking her head. "Nah, I'm not from here. Earth, actually. Mundane and all that. Simple." She shrugged, not being from anywhere really spectacular. Her brows raised as she managed to keep her jaw in place instead of landing on her knees. "Orcs? You were raised by... orcs?" The Lord of the Rings images came to mind and she held back a shutter. "Are they..." her mouth twisted, contemplating her words and not wanting to insult the girl or her people. "Well... What are they like?" Watching Amber change position and was now looking at her head on, she crossed her arms over her knees and let them relax. "I... haven't really gotten any spectacular abilities. All I got was this tattoo. Woke up on my eighteenth birthday and it was there." She tugged the sleeve of her sweater dress up to expose her left wrist, a simple black tattoo of a swarm of birds about four or five inches long spread. "Only thing I've noticed about it is if I make a bet or deal with someone, it lights up." She shrugged. "But that's it."

"No they ar-..... Tattoos that light up?" Seemingly quick on the draw to dismiss something, the mention of glowing tattoos caught her attention immediately. "So you're a Djinn adopted by humans. And I thought my childhood was weird. I'd ask what color but it's already obvious." A hazy glint held on her iris', seemingly staring off into space for the moment. "Marid. They're blue right? If you weren't a Marid your teeth would be chattering right now." Djinn, orcs, elves, and all that jazz. These were the creatures of Amber's world. A far cry from what she could only imagine Kenna had known. She heaved yet another sigh. "I don't know what this Earth is like. But Orcs, they aren't as uncivilized as everyone things. It's all bias racism you know? Orcs are reclusive, and because of that everyone fabricates these bullshit tales about child devouring, home raiding, practically Vikings. Orcs are actually proud people. Yeah, barbaric as can be but they have strong beliefs and moral codes, just like any other people. My adopted mother, she was a good person. Even if her skin was a bit green and she had tusk underbite."

She stared at Amber for a moment, doe-eyed yet again as she slowly nodded to the claim that was truth. "Yeah... They're blue." She would've asked how she knew that, only to be quickly answered soon after. Tilting her head, there was a slight look of confusion on her face. The girl didn't know her ass from a hole in the ground when it came to her own kind. At least, not what couldn't be found in books and the internet. Though a good majority was dismissed, much like the previous comment about Amber no longer being alive. In Kenna's defense, she'd met quite a few things and could only assume vampires and ghosts were very much real, too. No longer living didn't mean much to her at this point. How naive she was... She probably should care more about it. "What does my teeth not chattering have to do with being a Marid?" See? Didn't know jack about her kind. Hearing her explanation of the orcs, she nodded slowly as well as a slow smile spreading at the information being relayed to her. "I didn't know any of that," as if she knew much of anything to begin with, "I'm glad I got that clarity. Can't say I'd be making any approach, regardless." Snickering lightly, something told her that her kind weren't welcome. The fact that Amber had been adopted into their tribe was probably a rare instance. Reclusive beings typically didn't trust outsiders. Especially a race who was judged so harshly. "Your mom sounds like a good woman," she chuckled lightly. "My adopted story isn't all that spectacular. Christian orphanage, got adopted when I was three by my parents. Small town in Nebraska." Another shrug of those slender shoulders, other than her parents unknowingly adopted a Djinn, it was simple.

Amber quietly listened. Or so one could assume. Though after the question she more or less began staring at Kenna. Dumbfounded. How could a Djinn not even know that there were different types of Djinn? Her expression soon faded to one of confusion. These names. Nebraska. Christian. They held no meaning to her. "What's a Christian?" Amber inquired bluntly. Her head tilted slightly, with furrowed brows. "Is Nebraska a place..? I've never been to Earth." The girl seemed genuinely confused, and yet intrigued. A glimmer of hunger set in her eyes. Curious and thirsting for information on this foreign area her new friend spoke of. Only for it to dawn on her she had been asked a question herself. "Oh! Yeah, you Djinn are coordinated by colors, I think it's supposed to signify elemental purposes. Marid are blue, So naturally it's safe to assume water, or ice affiliation. Logically most species associated with water are naturally resistant to cold temperature. Unless it's reptilian in genes. I've read a lot of books. There's plenty on Djinn where I'm from. Magisters typically write books on creatures for quick gold to fund their experiments." Giving a light shrug as she reached for her pocket. Only to recall that her smokes were already ruined. She heaved a sigh. Mumbling "dammit" under her breath.

Just as Amber was dumbfounded on how Kenna didn't know anything about Djinn, the girl's lack of knowledge about Earth had the Djinn just as dumbfounded. "Christianity is a religion on Earth. It's.... way too much to explain simply, honestly." Shaking her head, she wouldn't know where to start other than maybe handed Amber a bible. Nodding about Nebraska. "Yeah, it's a place in North America, a state." Staring wide eyed at the description of her kind, she knew of the colors. She knew of the different kinds. But didn't know about the elemental part of it. She looked down at her hands and curled her hands into a ball before letting them relax and splay out. "Do you think I could learn how to stuff with water?" She hadn't even thought about it. The only thing she knew about capabilities was maybe what she'd learned through research... and most of the information turned up sounded ridiculous. The best she maybe had was that awful WishMaster movie.. the idea made her shudder. She let out a light groan. "I don't know anything about my kind." Her head fell onto her knees, shaking from side to side before popping back up at the mumble made from the girl. "Do you have any more?" She wasn't a smoker herself, but that didn't mean she would nag Amber for it. Just decline any offer made if that came to pass.

"Huh...Yeah, totally. It's not as hard as it seems." Placing her hand on her chin as she crossed her other arm around her waist. She sat in contemplation for a moment before standing to stretch. "Nah, I'm out. Guess I'll have to walk to town and get more. Wanna come with? We can talk about Djinn along the way if you want to. Doesn't seem right for someone to not know a damn thing about their own people. Come on. Come with me, you got anything better to do?" A smirk held on her features. Confidant that Kenna couldn't possibly have anything to do. If she did, why would she be chatting away with a stranger. Her innocence and naivety weren't hard to notice for sure. But that in itself was perfect reason not to just ditch the girl alone in the woods. "Besides, I want to know more about this Earth place. If humans are normal, are they the prominent race there?"

She made a face at the mention of going to town, but the insistance from Amber had her letting out that chiming laughter. "Alright, alright, I'll come with. You're right, not like I'm doing much of anything anyways." She probably would've just been nerding out about flowers and butterflies otherwise. Pushing to her feet not long after the girl, tugging her sweater dress from her knees as it hung a bit looser than it had been from the stretching. Bending over, she plucked her journal from the ground. She perked up at the mention of being told about her kind in return for telling her about Earth. She couldn't help but smirk a bit and make a crappy joke. "Deal." Though Amber remained safe, there was no light show on those tattoos of hers. To her question, she nodded while she tucked the leather bound book beneath her arm. "Yeah, I think so?" She seemed a bit skeptical then. "But then again, I was hiding apparently among humans. Who knows what else is out there, hidden among the crowds... who look and act human... For all I know, I could've known some weird things other than me.." She snickered, turning in the direction of town as she waited for Amber to join her.

As Amber trotted up beside she only shook her head. "If you don't have extensive memory you might want to get writing." Absentmindedly she had forgotten her shoes. Just making her way up the glen path towards the city as she began explaining. "You see the Djinn started with four I think. Called the Silat, or something like that. Not really sure if I'm pronouncing the words right. Anyway each of these Silat are responsible for a different species of Djinn. Like I said before, each Djinn species is sort of color coordinated. Blue is Marid, who are supposed to be the most intelligent ones. Red are Ifreeti or something like that. They're supposed to be vicious and down outright evil. I've heard stories about one of them. Think her name was... Isis? Or something like that anyway. There's a few rumors floating around from my world about her pulling off some shit that caused problems in the world threads. There's also rumors about her betraying and killing the silat that made her. Next there's the Ghuul-" She continued to give brief descriptions and examples of rumors where Djinn had appeared as they walked along. The extend of information spilling from her lips insisting she had done extensive research. Or at the very least had very many bored days at libraries.

She had the memory of an elephant, but that didn't mean she wasn't one against documenting. Luckily for her, she always had her journal with her. At the mention of writing, sure enough that Djinn pulled her book free from beneath her arm and pulled a pen out of the loose binding of the book, she worked the leather strips keeping the journal closed free as she flipped to a fresh page. Propping the book on her forearm, holding the book to her chest for balance, she scribbled away at the page to every bit of information of her kind offered. She guessed at the spellings of the names, though some she remembered from her online and library searches of her kind. When it was her turn, she talked about Earth. Spilling her own bout of information about the world she was from, anything from the use of vehicles to planes, medical science, the lack of strange creatures and the monsters you'd find there instead. Anything that came to mind, she spilled it like a pail of water from her mouth.

Much thanks to Amber for collaberation in this story! More to come soon.

Three's a crowd they say...
Meeting Cam

"Okay, so that's it. I'm lost. Why is this city so damn confusing?" Spoken in a huff as Amber scanned their surroundings. Somehow managing to find herself wandering through the city of RhyDin today. Not the best idea for a tourist. Heaving a sigh whilst digging into her jean shorts' pocket for her pack of cigarettes. Casting a quick side glance to Kenna, whom she'd practically stuck like glue to for the past few weeks. Since they'd met in the Glen. "You been this far into town before? Any idea where we are?" She inquired as she thumbed open the pack from her pocket. Marlboro icon label across the semi blue-green package. Slipping a smoke between her lips, hastily striking the bland orange bic in her hand to spark her square. "Cause honestly, this place all looks the damn same on the inside to me." muttered under her breath before inhaling a drag. Her gaze drifting off to the crowds of people passing by on the streets.

"I don't know, I'm used to Nebraska..." She crinkled her nose, a shake of her sandy brown head. Like always, that hair fell flat across her shoulders. Her journal was tucked into a fabric pack with the black cord straps resting on her shoulders. A pair of black jeans, torn at the knees and a long-sleeved white shirt that looked too big for her slender frame she was practically swimming in. She'd taken off the thin plaid over-shirt she'd been wearing, now having it tied tight around her hips, flapping against the back of her legs with each step taken. Those mucky brown Rocket Dogs that had seen better days. Her slender arms hung loosely around her abdomen, a bony shoulder lifting. "I remember some of it? But... You know I hate being in town," she scowled lightly, sandy curtains of hair practically hiding her face as the anxiety of being around so many unfamiliar faces -faces that were monsters in disguise more times than not. She waved her hand lazily down a street they were coming up on, "that one. I remember it from last time. I think we're close to that coffee shop." Her stride picked up pace, not quite a jog but it was pretty damn close to power walking at this point.

Exhaling a thin stream of smoke as she glanced around the vicinity ahead. Taking quick looks at nearby signs. "Coffee shop huh? Maybe they're have a map or something. Fuck it, let's go get coffee." Even though coffee tastes like ass. Whatever. "Well. Lead the way Lassie." spoken sarcastically. Even a monkey could catch that obvious a tone. Though she held a smirk on her features. Flicking her smoke before crossing her arms, mid stride.

Making his way town the road adjacent, the messy blonde haired guy in a grey simple sweater and basic jeans paused in his tracks. A faint disgruntled expression held on his features for a split second before he had turned his head. His gaze setting on the two girls across the road. Clear as day for him, complete tourists. If there's anything that stands out in RhyDin, it's a tourist. Normally a sight he wouldn't bother with, but two pretty cute ladies? Bait the hook, here comes the playboy. The man made his merry little way across that street in a heartbeat. Incidentally more or less disappearing in the crowd of by passers walking behind the duo. Seemingly generically human at it's finest. Blending in with most crowds, easily so.

Naive and innocent, the Djinn continued on as if they didn't have a follower. "It's a start, and I want a cappuccino." A cherubic smile was flashed toward Amber as she nearly hoofed it toward that familiar street. She made a face at being called Lassie, a crinkle of her nose. "I shaved my legs this morning..." She teased, in terms of the whole hairy business. Her thumbs slid behind the cord straps of the bag on her back, pressing it closer to her as the strings pulled taut. "I hope they have a map," she muttered, turning her attention back to the street as she turned the corner onto the next. "I'm tired of walking blindly in this darned place." The born and raised no-longer Christian still couldn't break her no-swearing rule.

"Damned." The naivety of Kenna no longer phased her, as much as she was determined to break the habits. Having seen just how innocent Kenna is throughout the last few weeks Amber had made the decision to correct Kenna's censored speech. "Why do you even like cappuccinos? I don't understand the allure of all the fancy names. Coffee is coffee isn't it?" Taking another drag of her smoke whilst briskly hoofing it to keep up with her companion. Completely oblivious to their uninvited company trailing behind. Amber never was exactly the cautious type.

Following closely behind, the man paused when he'd notice their increase in movement speed. Questioning for a moment if he had been noticed. A questioning he quickly blew off, after all tourist humans? No way they'd noticed him that quickly in such a crowded road. More likely they had decided a destination. Although there were two, the male's focus seemed to be more set on the brunette. He could feel it, she wasn't as 'normal as she appeared. Not with the energy he'd taken notice of from across the way. It wasn't long before he'd moseyed his way up to their pace. making sure to keep his distance. Stalker mode initiated.

Shaking her finger at the correction from Amber. "Yeah, that." Why swear when she didn't need to? Amber picked up the slack enough for the both of them. She deadpanned and looked over her shoulder at the woman, giving her an are you kidding me? kinda look. "Because it's coffee that tastes better than plain coffee. At least it's not Starbuck's milkshakes... That's not coffee." She shook her head, and even though she had a good view of everything behind her.... She was still as oblivious as could be. Perhaps because she'd never had a stalker before, she wouldn't know what to look for if she was. Turning her honeycomb hues forward before she would run into a pole, questionable on if Amber would warn her about it or leave her to learn the lesson on her own. She paused on the sidewalk, head swiveling when they reached the corner of the next street, chewing on her bottom lip as she seemed lost for a moment. "Crud..." she huffed, trying to pick through memory of the last time she'd made it to the coffee shop. It took her a few seconds, but she remembered. Pointing at the street on the right. "We're close, it's just around the corner." And then she was zooming forward again. Those scrawny legs could book it.

"Hey, slow down! Wait! What the hell is a Starbucks?" She blurted out as she attempted to speed up once more to keep up with the flighty girl. Flicking her cigarette away as she trotted up. "Okay what're you addicted to cappuccinos? Is it crack? Do they put crack in your coffee? It's totally some narcotics isn't it? Definitely." chuckling softly after her remark. "So Seriously, what's a Starbucks? I keep imagining a male deer from space." As they rounded the corner Amber bumped right dead into another passerby. "Oops. My bad. You okay?" going on to make some simplistic display of apologies with the stranger before moving on along the route.

Having continued his pursuit the stalker began speeding up when he took notice they were bounding another street. Making his way right up to the corner quick enough to hear the commotion. He practically clung to the adjacent building wall. Hugging close to stay out of view as he listened in to Amber's little dialog with the stranger. Not long after, a smirk slipped across his face. Moving off the wall While the girl said her goodbyes. Standing there he began rolling his neck, awaiting the next person to round the corner. Only to confront him. "Sup man, lookin' for wallets?" Naturally, the man denied, attempting to dodge the accusations....

Cheeks puffed as she slowed down to allow the girl to catch up to her, often forgetting how quick she could be when she had something on her mind. Blame the years of booking it to and from class, being the good girl that was typically the first in the classroom before everyone else showed up. Was she an over achiever or maybe she just liked getting first pick of the seats. "It's a lie!" In terms of Starbucks. "They claim they serve you coffee... but the actual coffee is gross, and the only ones that taste okay aren't even coffee, they're just milkshakes. You want a good coffee shop, go to Dunkin' Donuts." As if they were going back to Earth any time soon... unlikely. She couldn't help but chime out a laugh at the image of a male deer from space. "You think it would have antlers or antennae?..." She mused, pausing to look back at Amber when she seemed to bump into someone and she heard the apology. "Too busy thinking about spaceman deer instead of where you're walking?" She teased, a joking smirk on her face until she heard the voice. She was naive, not stupid. Blinking, she looked at Amber like a red flag went off in her head. Earth had plenty of thieves. "...Check your pockets..." Uncertainty on her face as she looked at her friend.

"Dunk-In Doe-Nuts. Sounds like the name of a terrible hermaphrodite strip tease dance... Oh totally antennae. Like ants. And so what if I was, what's his exc-" Amber blinked. Having taken no real care or knowledge of thievery, blame the nomad tribe life. She cast a confused expression at Kenna as she slid her hands into her front pockets, then her back. "Why am I checking my pockets agai- Mother fucker." And just like that she rounded that corner in a heartbeat. Only to halt to a stop at what she'd now witnessed.

Welcome to Rhydin ladies. The point of words were well over when the thief chose to deny his crimes. And the stalker wouldn't have it. By the time Amber whipped around the corner the boy had the thief against the wall. Pinned by his neck. Taking a side glance toward the pattering footsteps, to behold Amber staring at him. "Ma'am, I believe this asshole stole something from you?" Setting his sights back on the thief, the left corner of his mouth twitched, hinting at the holding back of a smirk, or grin. "Just give it back before I have to hurt you man. Stealing from tourists? Really. It's pretty low. And you're making our city look bad too, and that I cannot abide. Give the lady back her belongings and apologize." What a nice guy, right? Not fishy at all.

Chiming laughter that was cut off by the image that accompanied Amber's words, she looked appalled. "Oh, sick..." Shaking her head, trying to wipe the mental image of a hermaphrodite strip tease gone bad from her mind. But when Amber was checking her pockets, she went back to chewing on her bottom lip in wait to see if her suspicions would be confirmed. When it seemed it rang true, she jogged after her having been ahead of her in the opposite way, she had a few paces to catch to. "Hopefully he's not too far aw-..." Stopping in her tracks, she peered over Amber's shoulder at the sight of the blonde guy pinning the thief by his throat. Honeycomb hues shot wide, staring blatantly between the two men. It didn't take her long for the words to register and realize that the blonde man -who might be pretty, but she'd never say that out loud- was trying to help. Her sleeved arms lifted to cross over her chest, looking as intimidating as a Pomeranian as she made a face at the thief. "Cheeseball..." She was ace at this sort of thing. Clearly.

After steeling herself, having caught off guard by the very idea of a stranger lifting a finger to help her. As well as how he just so happened to know what happened TO help her. Call it paranoia or not, but she didn't buy it. "Thanks uh, guy? But it's me he stole from, I've got this. Let him go." As she spoke she stepped toward the two. Her gaze set on the one who did the actual stealing. "You know. I don't really know what constitutes punishment for thievery in this town. But where I come from, you wanna know what happens to a thief who gets caught? They cut off their hand." At this point in her speech, Amber had decided to lean in toward the man. A sneer on her face. "So you can keep my money if you want. But if you do, I only have one thing to ask. Right, or left?"

The blonde guy however, hesitantly did as he were told. Letting go of the thief, he however refused to step back. Instead he started to laugh at the verbal scare tactic he were hearing from Amber to the guy. The idea of the girl chopping off anyone's hand was absurd, and thus hilarious. However, when the moment arose, which it did perfectly at the end of Amber's little speech, the man decided to join in. "You heard the lady. Which one you wanna keep pal?" The short moment of intimidation faltered back to laughing when the thief dropped Amber's stolen cash before darting down the street. Bent over, hands on his knees. "Aw man, look at em' run! Damn, I really didn't think he was gonna buy you taking off one of his hands but I'll be, he bought it. Not bad. Wait, did she just call that punk a cheeseball?"

She was mostly silent, not much of a help in this scenario at all. What could she do? She didn't know jack about what she could do. What she did know.... What? Make a deal with him? Amber's threat had those eyes turning like a deer caught in the headlights, staring at the back of that blonde head of hair as she managed to keep her jaw from unhinging. Sure, the girl swore a lot. She could a raging bitch sometimes, but... Cutting off someone's hands? She shifted uncomfortably and hugged her arms even tighter around herself, chewing feverishly at her bottom lip. By the end of the day, the damn thing was going to be swollen by it. She let out a relieved sigh when the thief decided to drop the cash and run for the hills, doe-eyes relaxing as her shoulder slumped from the tension she hadn't realized they had acquired. "Thank Jeebus..." she muttered, until her cheeks grew a shade of rose at the guy calling her out on her attempt to insult. Releasing her hold with one arm, lifting her hand to scratch her nails at her scalp that ruffled that sandy brown hair. "Yeah.... That's all I could think of..." She admitted. Hey, it sounded good in the moment...

Amber watched the thief run with a blank expression. Only to heave a sigh as she leaned down to pick up her money. Going for her smokes once more after retrieving the stolen funds. "Thieves are spineless. Ugh." Her words were cruel, absolutely. Just as they may have not been just an idle threat. For now it weren't certain. But her looks defy her nature. A nomad is a nomad. Lawless, stubborn in beliefs. Turning back to Kenna after lighting her cigarette. "That was obnoxious. So let's hit that coffee shop. Now that I have my money back."

No fool, he'd noticed immediately that the blonde wasn't buying the convenience of him being there. So just as she practically pretended he wasn't there he did the same to her. "Jeebus. Hah, Christian? You're a long way from Earth. Then again I guess I am too. I'm Camren. So, accidental or purpose? You know, how you got here. RhyDin." The boy who introduced himself as Camren, he held a seemingly genuine smile on his features. Motioning to Amber with his eyes to Kenna. "You ladies oughta keep closer eye on your wallets around here. RhyDin' pretty thick with thieves."

With the thief gone, and the threat of limbs being lost also put away, the teenager seemed to relax significantly. Her arms still remained folded over her abdomen, but she didn't seem quite so much like a doe in the headlights. "They should get a job like everyone else," she muttered, about thieves being spineless. Honey hues ticked to Cam, nodding at his inquiry about being Christian. Brows furrowed for a moment, like she was indecisive. "Well... was... I don't really know anymore." It was hard to say what she believed in anymore. Everything she thought to be myth was real now, maybe everything she thought of religion was the true myth. She had no idea. Regardless, something told her that her fellow Christians would try to burn her at the stake for what she was. Distracted from her silent reverie at the introduction, she returned the favor. "Kenna," she glanced to Amber, nodding once but holding up a finger to wait a minute as she talked to the boy. After all, he'd caught the thief. She clearly wasn't as suspicious of him as her friend was. Turning her innocent gaze onto Cam, she seemed to shift her weight from one foot to the other. "Purpose... Guess you could say I'm trying to find myself." There was a tick of a smile there, a little bit secretive. She'd been up front with Amber, but that didn't mean she'd go yelling through the streets that she was a Djinn. She just didn't think people were at her throat about her kind. Turning her frame sideways like she was going to follow her friend, she pausing and jutted her thumb toward the street, glancing at Amber momentarily before looking at him. "You want to come get a coffee with us? You kinda saved us from getting robbed, after all." Kenna had money on her, sure. But not much. She had what she came to Rhy'Din with, some still left over from buying her room in advance. She still had another couple weeks before she had to worry about job seeking to keep it up.

"Coffee? Hmm.. " Pausing momentarily to stroke his chin, the expression on his face screamed the sole purpose was for theatrics. "Yeah, I could go for a cappuccino right about now. Who drinks basic coffee these days? What with Starwhore monopolizing things. The way I figure it's only a matter of time before Wallyworld and Starbucks swarm RhyDin too. You know, they say hope and faith are the mightiest of weapons. I'd say that's probably why they're so hard to hold onto." Turning his sights on Amber with a questioning look. "That is, if your friend here is alright with the company. I Don't want to impose.."

Amber on the other hand unlike Kenna, did not see any reason to invite the stranger into their midst. Casting a look at Kenna while practically screaming in her head THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING KENNA. Though, despite her reserved thoughts when put on the spotlight by Cam Amber took a complete one-eighty. "Hmm? Yeah, whatever. I don't mind I guess. Let's just go okay? Before that guy comes back with an army of hobos or something." One would say sarcastic, but Amber in truth had a strange fear of homeless people. Grungy hobos sketched her out. "Why is everyone bringing up cappuccinos? What's so damn good about them?"

She blinked and seemed to stare at him for a moment when he brought up the cappuccino. One might think that she wasn't going to buy it, but though she was an honor roll student.... She didn't have a lick of street smarts. A cherubic smile cracked her face nearly in half, looking at him before looking at Amber. "See! He gets it." Shaking her finger at him, raising those pale brown brows at her friend. She couldn't help but roll those honey hues and shake her head, her arm dropping at her side. "Seriously, just because someone lives on the streets doesn't make them a bad person." Scrunching her face at the blonde girl, "that's just prejudice." She might be a sap for those homeless people sob stories, and those Youtube videos where the people secretly act like they need help, and the homeless person gives them all they've got less to help them... She cried every time those people gave the hobos money and the gratitude expressed by the homeless person. Balled like a baby. She snickered, "you're going to have to get one and find out. Is there really any way to describe it other than awesome?" She raised her brows at Cam, ticking her head toward the street to indicate him to come with as she turned in that direction, moving up beside Amber so she was in the middle.

"Well sure there are. But instead of a multitude of various attempts to verbally explain a beverage how about I just buy you one? Not that big a deal," Cam raised a brow, grinning slightly. "Once you have one, you'll get it. Though I gotta ask, why haven't you had a cappuccino before exactly?"

"Well... I guess if you're buying it I can give it a try. But honestly I just want to get the hell out of this part of the city. It's annoyingly crowded." With a furrow of her brows at Cam's simple inquiry, Amber barked back "There's no such thing as a cappuccino where I'm from." Shrugging as she took a drag from her smoke. inhaling sharply before exhaling it at Cam. "You ask a lot of questions. But whatever I guess. Amber by the way."

"Now we're getting somewhere! Kenna, Amber it's lovely to meet you both. Sorry it had to be under the circumstances of thievery but at least the crisis was averted right?"

That sandy brown head swiveled back and forth, listening to the two. Amber had a bit of an attitude to her, but she seemed to be getting along for the most part with the one who'd played hero of the day. Meanwhile, she played follow the leader with her being the leader. Heading for the coffee shop that she was having a clearer memory now that they had turned onto the right street and she had a better grasp on her surroundings. "Nothing all that wrong with asking questions. How else are you going to get to know someone?" She interfered, her voice lost to the wind as she was looking at the shops that lined the street more than them at the moment. She couldn't fully remember the name of the shop, having only passed it a couple times but the intoxicating coffee aroma was one to remember. When Cam mentioned it was lovely to meet them, she flashed the two that sweet smile that was actually genuine before shrugging a bony shoulder. "Yeah, the thief sucked but hey it wasn't your average meet and greet, huh?" The smell of coffee caught her nose and she turned to see the shop just a few buildings ahead. "Found it!" She chirped, scrawny legs bounding forward before the flighty Djinn all but shoved her body through the doorway, using her hip to hold the door open for the two behind her when they caught up.

After her previous remarks Amber had fell quiet. Seeming to go from distant to more reclusive. For some reason, something felt off to her. For now she dismissed it. But that didn't mean she didn't plan to play it safe. Whether it were this Cam guy or not, Amber fully intended to if nothing more simply pay close attention. And for her, that meant less talking and more listening. Making her way through the doorway first, she turned back to wait for the other two whilst directly inside. The smell of coffee infesting her nostrils made her wrinkle her nose. Taking a moment to adjust.

Cam seemed to hold a smile the entire way to the shop. Despite Amber's behavior patterns. "I'm gonna go on a limb here and guess Amber isn't one for meeting new people. Nothing wrong with it." Once making his way up to the door instead of walking in, he placed his hand on to the door over Kenna's head. "Ladies first." He insisted. Motioning with his head for Kenna go make her way in. Only to follow her whenever she eventually did so. Making his way right up to the counter to order. With a side of small talk with the girl behind the counter.

She noted how quiet Amber was, but that didn't seem to surprise her all too much. After being told about Orcs, the real ways of the Orcs... the girl's reclusive nature to strangers was less of her being a bitch as it was just her upbringing. Though she understood the concept of caution, the naive teenager didn't seem to worry all that much for the blonde boy the way Amber seemed to. She caught the nose wrinkle from her, shaking her head until she caught the observation from Cam. "Just cautious is all." She shrugged, not finding it her place to reveal Amber's Orcish background. She knew her social faux pas and telling other people's business wasn't one she made a habit. "Considering recent events, it's not a bad way to go about it." She snickered, meaning the thief just moments before. She felt his presence before she looked up at him, "what a gentleman," then she was turning away from him and making her way to Amber's side as he took the reigns in ordering. She didn't pay much attention to the small talk made to the girl behind the counter, looking at her friend with a raise of brow. 'You good?' mouthed to her and her unnatural silence. Or maybe it was concern for her friend since they just had a run in with a thief. It was hard to tell.

"Honestly..?" Amber responded in a near whisper. Leaning in close to Kenna, her eyes glued to Cam from their position. "I feel like someone's watching me. No. More like reading me. I don't know, maybe It's just nerves. Forget I said anything. I'll get us a table." And with that Amber glanced around. Only to wander over to a vacant booth near the shop window.

After a moment of speaking with the smiling giddy cashier, Cam turned around. Making his way back over to Kenna. "That takes care of that. Should be ready momentarily." Taking notice of Amber's lack of presence he glanced around the shop until his gaze set on her in the distance. "Shall we convene over to miss broody?" Cam questioned with a soft and short chuckle. "Heh.. In all seriousness though, between you n' me, she did just get robbed and all. Is she typically like that?" Curiosity killed many a cats, but never a Cam. Though by now certainly many question how.

She listened intently, concern riddled on her face as she looked at Amber. Watched? She blinked, glancing around slightly as if there might actually be someone watching, "I don't see anyone..." She muttered, chewing her lip after. Blinking, she turned back to her before frowning slightly. "Okay.. I'll meet you there in a minute." As Amber walked off, she watched her for a moment. She seemed off, but she wasn't sure if it had to do with what just happened, that there was now a third party member or if she was just being paranoid now. Sighing, she shrugged it off for now, turning to look at Cam when he approached. Exchanging her worried look for a smile, she lifted her brows at him. Her lip pulled away from her teeth and she bobbed her head, "yeah? Great." Because coffee. She crinkled her nose at the nickname given to Amber. Her hues ticked to her friend, looking at her for a moment before she set her gaze on Cam. A shrug of her bony shoulder as she glanced to the floor. "I don't know, she's pretty reserved and whatnot. It was how she was raised.." She didn't offer any more information than that. "But she might be on edge after what just happened." Curling her arms around her shoulder, she seemed to shift her weight in deciding if she should tell him or not. Could it hurt? She didn't think so. "She mentioned she felt like she was being watched... Or read or something." Her voice softer, leaning a little closer to him as she lifted her eyes up to him before she played it casual and leaned away from him so it didn't look like they were just whispering to each other. "I don't feel it, but that's just me." She was naive and innocent, of course she didn't feel like something was up.

"... Watched huh?" Having silently listened to what Kenna had to say up until that vary point. "Well, it's probably just nerves. Unless Amber's got some enemies she hasn't mentioned to you. You'd be surprised the baggage some people bring with them to this world. And frankly speaking, I'm going to assume she didn't come here with you from earth. Who on earth doesn't know what a cappuccino is?" About that time their order had been called, and Cam made his way back to the counter. Giving a quick glance around while trying to remain inconspicuous about it.

Amber on the other hand didn't really seem so calm. In fact she gave off an obvious feel of anxiousness. Elbow on table, she began biting the tip of her thumb. Her gaze set out the window. Moving ever so slightly every few seconds. Bouncing from person to person who passed by her line of sight.

"Hmm...Hanging out with little girls now days huh Cam..? How the mighty fall. Cute." Mumbling to herself while peering through a pair of binoculars into the caf? window from behind a dumpster she were leaning on in the alley across the road. The strange brunette adorned in basic jeans and a faint red tee shirt lowered the binoculars down onto the dumpster to light herself a cigarette. Inhaling a quick drag before snickering to herself. Oh is Viv gonna eat this up. I've found you Cam...

Bobbing her head to the echoed question, she chewed on her bottom lip as he went on about Amber maybe having enemies. She hadn't thought about that. Snickering, "she can be grumpy but I can't imagine she has enemies like that..." Orcs were reclusive, where did she make the enemy. She shrugged, holding her arms closer to her torso as if she was cold. An unlikely circumstance, she never got cold. Shaking her head, "no... I met her not long after I got here." When it came to herself, she didn't have that much of a filter about those things-you-shouldn't-tell-a-stranger. Not when it came to her. "They don't have cappuccino's where she's from." She echoed the statement made by Amber earlier, though there was a bit of a smile at his question. Honey hues ticked to the caller, taking the time of Cam to walk off to sneak a glance at her friend who was chewing on her thumb. There was a furrow of brow, that tad bit of worry there that something was wrong. She waited for Cam to come back with the coffee first before going over there, but she was keeping a close eye on Amber through her peripheral. And away she chewed at that bottom lip. Thing was definitely going to be swollen by the end of the day.

It didn't take long for Cam to return to Kenna, Coffees in hand. "Psst," he expressed, motioning with his head toward the table Amber sat at before making his way over there himself. "Hey, people to Amber. Snap out of it n' try this cappuccino." Spoken with a cheery disposition as he placed one of the cups in front of her. Making his way to sit across from her. Taking a sip from his cup as he shot a side glance out the window himself.

"Huh? Oh. Yeah, thanks." Reaching down to take her cup, she immediately sipped from the contents. Only to stare at the cup with a quizzical expression as she withdrew it. "Well shit, that's not half bad really.." She mumbled to herself. Glancing off toward Kenna, then across from her to Cam. "So, how long have you been in this place? That's right, my turn to ask questions."

"Oh no no Cam. You're not getting too cozy today. Time we had a little chit chat." A wicked grin swept across the woman's features as she lowered her binoculars again. Making her merry little way around to the other side of the alley. Where she slipped into the drivers seat of a red Jeep Hummer. Slipping the keys from her pants pocket into the ignition. Taking another drag from her smoke before starting up the vehicle. Reaching out with her right hand to open the glove box as she exhaled. Retrieving a .45 from the glove box to check the clip before returning it.

There was a nod at his motion, following him to the table. There was a chiming laugh at his calling to Amber, slipping into a chair next to her. She waited for Amber to test it out, eyeing her like the opinion of the cappuccino was absolutely dire. That cherub smile broke wide at the sound of her 'good enough' compliment to the coffee. "Told you~" she mused, finally reaching for hers to take a sip from. "Welcome to conformity," she teased Amber, smirking at her before she looked at Cam when the question was fired off at him. She amused with herself with sipping cappuccino, but that curiosity flickered in her gaze directed right at him. That silent encouragement. She was a better listener than she was a talker, unless you got her onto certain topics. Or she was well acquainted with the person.

"Well, I guess it's been a few years now. Off and on for even longer. Maybe it's just easier to say RhyDin is my home. What about you ladies eh?" Cam braced himself with his elbows on the table surface. Raising his cup in the generic 'cheers' motion to Amber before taking another sip.

"Two days before I met Kenna." Blunt, right to the point and giving off jack shit worth of information. Deflecting is exactly what Amber planned to do until that uneasy feeling went away. Anybody but Kenna, didn't matter to her in the moment. She wasn't going to trust.

Pulling out from her inconspicuous parking spot, the woman pulled out into the road. Making her way down the road toward the cross section that would lead to the road the Caf? were on. Having pulled the firearm back from the glove box, she leaned forward to slide the piece under her seat. Taking another drag from her smoke as she made her way to the crossroad. Flipping that blinker as she exhaled. Flicking the cigarette butt out her window at the next person she drove by. A man reading a paper as he walked. Dead aim precision as the butt bounced off the man's head.

"Couple weeks," a shrug of her shoulder as she lifted the cappuccino to her lips for a slow sip. "Moved here from Nebraska." The naive girl would probably be easy to pry information out of, like the hows and whys of the reason she was in Rhy'Din. The problem was, she didn't quite know where to start, so she didn't. Amber was harder to hand out trust than Kenna, and some might say she handed it out like candy. Even against her own instincts. Maybe it was years of being a good Christian girl that she tried to believe there was more good than bad in the world. Or maybe she just didn't know her ass from a hole in the ground... which was just as likely. Her eyes ticked to her friend, drifting slowly back to Cam. She was used to Amber's stand-offishness by now, so it didn't seem to bother her.

After pulling around to a vacant parking space Yvette reached back down for the .45 under her seat. Tucking it in the back of her pants after exiting the vehicle. The stranger didn't even bother taking the keys from the ignition. Most likely because she didn't plan on staying long. With a more or less 'pep' in her step the brunette mosey'd her way right inside the shop. Right up to the counter. "Large coffee, black." Seemingly not even really too concerned with dealing with the cashier, it wasn't long before her gaze shot over her shoulder toward the trio. Faint hints of a smirk on her features.

Attentive as ever. Amber took full notice of the eyeing done by the newer patron of the shop. After all, where she hails from awareness of surrounding is more or less rule number one to survival. Though RhyDin may not be much like her home at all, her raising would always ring true. "So, you just trot around scoping out tourist then. What's your game Camren?" Amber's eyes narrowed while setting on Cam. "If you think I buy the whole convenience of you being right around the corner to catch a thief, I don't." With her ever growing feelings of anxiousness and anxiety Amber wasn't taking risks. And To her, Cam is a risk.

"Game? Well, I suppose I can see why you'd jump to that conclusion. But I assure you it's pure coincidence. I know a pickpocket when I see one." Taking another sip of his cup before placing it down on the table. Leaning back in his chair before his gaze began to dart between the duo. Perhaps using an aloof attitude to belay facts. He was very aware of exactly who just trotted herself in. And she just so happened to be the last person he damn well ever wanted to see. But rather than make a scene, instead Cam chose to play it cool.

"Amberrr," she muttered under her breath as she let out a sigh. Shaking her head, she shot Cam an apologetic look from across the table. Glancing back to her friend, she muttered under her breath. "He helped us, and you're going to give him the third degree?" Groaning, her head tilted back. She wasn't going to call Amber out on paranoia in front of a practical stranger, but the thought definitely crossed her mind. Her head up-righted, and the naive girl took no notice of the girl at the counter, her suspicion wasn't raised in the least. Instead, her nostrils flared a bit in frustration that Amber was being that way to someone who'd helped them, but she tried to bite it back. She wasn't much for confrontations, so she just took another swallow of her coffee.

"Okay sure. I guess..." Amber didn't buy it one bit, but without actual proof what would be the point? So for now, she'd bide her time. And watch this guy like a hawk. At least that was her game plan. Until the entire scenario took a different turn. A turn that started with another stranger no less. One who would give her even worse vibes than Cam did.

After dealing with who she viewed as an obnoxious peon of a cashier, The woman turned on her heels with coffee in hand. Directed right towards the table the trio were seated at. In a manner of seconds she had trotted herself right over to the three. opening her mouth immediately. "Cam, here you are. Flirting it up with girls again? Should have known..."

Cam heaved a faint sigh. Hoping to himself Yvette wasn't there for him. But of course he knew better. Just as he knew whatever the hell she wanted, if he didn't comply his newfound company would be in danger. Slowly, he turned to face her. Left hand out for his cup, where he took a sip before responding. "Yvette. Can't you see I'm on vacation here? The 'boss' has plenty of other people to fill my position."

"We both know that's a lie Cam. The 'boss' needs your talents and you full well know it. Stop being lazy and scarce. You recall what happened to the last guy who got fired. You really want that?" she recanted. A smirk plastered on her face. raising her cup to take a full blown gulp or two from the steaming contents.

"Can we have this conversation another time? I'm busy with friends right now." Cam more or less spat out at the woman. It wasn't too hard to see the tension between the two. Though whether it was animosity or sexual frustration was up for debate. At least for now anyway.

"No, we can't. Hurry up with your business. I'll be outside waiting. Don't take to long this time, I've got other things to do." And with that response the woman made her way out the door. In and out like a bad omen it would seem.

"Good," she muttered, a smile spreading on her face now that Amber seemed to be more compliant with niceties. At least she hoped. Taking regular sips from her cappuccino, the cup slowly lowered as the new arrival approached and started talking to Cam. Friendly, naive and stupid, she smiled at her but didn't interrupt their conversation. A friendly smiled turned quickly into a look of confusion as they exchanged words about 'work'. A glance to Amber, she raised her brows and gave a shrug. She didn't know what the hell was going on, and it wasn't her place to ask the newly met friend what he did for work. Turning her attention back to the co-workers talking, she tried to play it quiet and just sip her coffee instead of blatantly staring and listening to them. Then Yvette said she was heading out, and Kenna piped out a delayed, "Nice to meet.... you..." The last word trailing off as she shook her head and looked at Cam. "Friend of yours?"

"If you quietly hope your friends get run over by a Mack truck, then yeah. Eh, pay Yvette no mind. She walks on all fours and yaps obsessionally." Cam mustered up a short lived chuckle. "We don't exactly see eye to eye on a lot of things. But that's the way the cookie crumbles, right Amber?" Casting a side glance at Amber with a half cocked smirk. He knew full damn well Amber had no intentions on giving him any benefit of the doubt, but that didn't mean he couldn't find a way to get along with her.

"Seemed more like a pissed off ex girlfriend than a co worker. Just saying..." Amber mumbled. Though the entire time Yvette had been there and gone she didn't take her eyes off the chick. "So what o you do exactly that has you associating with louts like her?" Kenna may be polite and all, but Amber wasn't afraid to ask the questions she knew were on both of their minds. But of course, her friend was a bit more naive than her.

"Eh... We supply some of the foreign distribution here in RhyDin. You know, imported alcohol and whatnot. All legal, hand to You-Know-Who." Feigning a genuine smile toward Amber and her prying. Didn't matter much to Cam, She had a question he had an answer, whether truthful or not.

She made a bit of an eek face as she at least managed to catch his meaning of otherwise "polite" words to what he really meant. And the truck comment. "Take that as a no," she giggled whimsically, taking another sip of her coffee before it got cold. Her honey hues ticked over to Amber as she had the boldness to ask the question she'd been thinking. That time... she didn't chastise her friend. Curiosity got the best of her as she waited for Cam's answer, giving Amber a mental thank you for being the brave one of the two. Not thinking twice about his lie, or doubting it, she pursed her lips and gave a glance around. "They've got to have stuff brought in some how..." She muttered, nodding. Her eyes glanced to the doorway, silently amused that Cam was taking his sweet time and making the girl wait, though wondered if Yvette was going to come busting back in and demanding their new friend leave. Shaking her head at that thought, she drew her attention back to Cam. "The way she talks about your boss, they sound like a hard... butt." Ass, Kenna. Just say ass. But no, she won't.

"Actually it's kind of the opposite. The boss man is typically pretty lax. It's the folk who work for him that are a total pain. Well, you saw Yvette. And sadly..." Pausing to take an actual gulp from his coffee. "She's the lesser of the two evils in our employment. Personally I don't like naming names, but the other gal... Well, she's a total terror." Seemingly pretty forthcoming with information. If only that were actually the case. Fact is these two were spotted with him, and that makes them recognized now. For Cam's perspective, that meant they could both be in potential danger if he didn't start to comply with Yvette's sure to be ridiculous demands.

"Lesser huh..? Interesting..." Her tone showed either disinterest or distraction. There was something about that Yvette woman she recognized. Further than that it's the same thing she's coming to recognize with Cam as well. But her mind wasn't putting together the pieces. To her both of them gave off vibes she was very uncomfortable with. And the hairs on the back of her neck suggested she needed to feel wary of them both. Amber began nudging Kenna with her knee under the table. Mumbling under her breath "We need to speed this up Kenna..." Not really taking the time to explain.

Not that explanations were needed for anyone else here. With an eye glued to Amber he could easily sense her uneasiness. Hell, he was pretty uneasy right now too. Although he refused to show it. "I guess I should be getting out there n' see what she wants. Though I really don't want to..." Cam heaved a sigh before downing the rest of his coffee. Sliding his chair out to take a standing position. "I wish I could stay and get to know you two a bit better. But duty calls I suppose. Maybe we'll see each other again sometime eh Kenna? Amber, you ought to keep your eyes glued, hun. Pickpockets everywhere 'round these parts."

As he went on to explain, she listened intently and lowered her cup of coffee. She didn't want it to get cold, but she also didn't want her bladder to pay for the excessive intake of caffeine later if she chugged it too fast. Her hands slipped beneath the table, hands clasping as she rested her arms on her lap. She nodded and crinkled her nose at the mention of the girl being a terror. "Hope the job's worth it.." She muttered, shaking her head. A tick of a glance to Amber, she seemed distracted. Her brows furrowed at her, silent questioning and she blinked at the knee bump. "Okay..." She wasn't getting it, and you bet she'd be prying after Cam was gone. Which apparently was now as he piped up that he was leaving. "Oh, okay." Her smile returned, and it was bright as she looked up at him as he stood. "Don't wanna take up all your time," she noted, glancing to the door. "She seems impatient.." She was being nice, as always. Returning her gaze to him, she bobbed her head in a nod and smiled wider. "Absolutely, I hope we do." He seemed nice and he'd helped them out, why wouldn't she want to see him again?

Without her knowledge, or even notice, the swarm of birds markings on her arm shined a brilliant cobalt beneath the table before dulling and returning to it's familiar black.

For a split moment, A faint glow from beneath the table caught her attention in her peripheral vision. Though she neglected to mention it. Hell she wasn't even sure what it was, but she noticed it none the less. Barely listening to Cam's little speech she simply nodded to him once he had mentioned her name. Amber were more or less lost in thought, Striving to recollect what exactly it was that held some eerie familiarity to her when it came to those two.

Cam's smile were more or less beaming when Kenna claimed she did want to associate with him further. Though beneath that smile held a sense of dread. Most likely born from paranoia of Yvette. Never the less Cam held steadfast. "Well, See you ladies around. Remember what I said Amber. Pickpockets. Everywhere." And with those words he had began departing. Making his way out the door and around to the small parking lot. Where of course Yvette were there waiting. "Persistent as usual I see.."

Leaning against her already running hummer, As Cam stepped out and approached his comment only made her scoff before taking a drag of the cigarette she were partaking. "You're one to talk. Chasing em' younger and younger aren't you? How long before you overstep into pedophilia Cam?" With her remark she motioned with her head to the vehicle. "Get in. You don't want to say no."

"Oh hah hah. Bitch." With a sigh he made his way around to the passenger seat. Climbing on into Yvette's vehicle. Immediately checking the backseat for an ambush. Not there. Though of course he were convinced if it wasn't coming now, whatever she had planned lead to one.

With a smirk on her features she hopped into the driver's seat. Immediately whipping out the .45, pointed right at Cam's crotch. "Try to bail and say goodbye to your favorite limb. Kapeesh?"

"You're too trusting Kenna..." Uttered with a sigh before sipping from her cup. "That guy is flaky, and his 'co worker' is even more flaky."

Kenna didn't notice the marks on her arm at all. Too distracted by Cam, her smile widened even more at his smile. What, he was pretty okay? His smile was contagious! Let her be. Finally pulling a hand out from under the table, she waved to him as he walked off. "Later, Cam." When he was gone and Amber started spouting that she was too trusting, she gave her a look. "And you're too distrusting." She pointed out, raising her brows as she fell back against the chair and picked up her coffee again. Mumbling, "you think everyone's flaky." No, no... Kenna, you're just too trusting.

"Yeah, sure. Whatever." Amber shook her head. Going for her coffee again. "I got pick-pocketed and I'm too distrusting. That makes so much sense." Maybe Kenna was right. Or maybe Amber felt she needed to be on guard because her companion was as naive as could be. Whatever the reason. Her sarcasm showed full well her views. "How can you not see how obvious that was anyway? It was clearly a set up to give that guy a chance to talk to us. Mark my words, three days tops and we'll somehow 'conveniently' run into him again. I guarantee it."

"Jesus Christ woman. Why does it always have to come to threats with you?"

"Shut up." Yvette immediately cutting Cam off as she moved the gear stick into gear, pulling out of the lot and right into the road.

"Screw off. I don't answer to you. So what next? We go to whatever the hell you n' Viv have set up shop? Torture me all you want, you'll get nothing out of me asshat."

"You don't deserve her company Cam. No, you're all mine now. Just shut the hell up and stay put. I won't say it again."

Her head ticked to the side as she shrugged. Okay, maybe Amber had a point there but she didn't get bad vibes from Cam. Maybe it'd been convenient, but regardless he still helped when he could've just kept walking. Her own sarcasm came out, but it was much lighter than Amber's. "So, what? He was waiting around the corner to nab the thief to talk to us? What's next? Did he pay the thief to jack your wallet, too?" She snickered, glancing over at her friend as she took another swallow of coffee. She had to forcefully stop herself from rolling her eyes. She squinted at her, pursing her lips behind the cup before she grinned. "Fine, I wager 10 bucks." She gave the girl a smile as she eyed her over the rim of the cup.

"Your money to lose. As for him paying the guy... Maybe. Likely actually. You didn't even notice him did you? He followed us down the road just before the thief took action. I saw him intentionally cross the street to get behind us." Not really her intention to sow seeds of paranoia, but Amber was no fool. Human raised as an orc the girl knew full well that when something seems suspicious, it's probably because it is. Intuition isn't something to deny. "I get that you believe in the good in everybody Kenna, but just because they could be good people doesn't make them so. 9 to 10 everyone's dark and treacherous."

".... Guess I have a hearing problem." Cam suddenly swatted Yvette's armed hand with his right hand, pushing the gun off set only to reach out and grasp a hold of her hair with her left. Forcing her head down into the steering wheel several times.

Caught off guard by Cam's sudden brazen actions her face collided with the steering wheel each time. Blurring her vision. Though she wasn't going down without a fight. Slamming down on the gas petal while jerking the wheel back and forth in serpentine patterns. It wouldn't take a rocket scientist to realize she intended to flip the vehicle.

The moment Cam put two and two together he attempted to struggle the gun out of the disoriented psychopath. Leaning in to headbutt her as he did so.

When he headbutted her, she jerked the wheel as far left as it would go. Having her weapon wrestled from her hand was the straw. hastily reaching out to yank on the emergency break. The tired squealing as the hummer skidded a bit at a horizontal position on the roadside just a block or so from the coffee shop. Successful, the vehicle began to flip on the road.

With the hummer now skidding across the road on it's side, Cam found himself getting his head slapped against the window. only to end up underneath Yvette. Struggling a bit to position himself right for a position not guaranteed to end in him being put down by this adversary.

Once gravity had thrown Yvette onto Cam from the momentum and force of the flip, Yvette started swinging. Throwing blow after blow at Cam in any blind spot possible. A moment that only made the little psycho seem completely batshit crazy However in her swinging she dropped all defenses. Seeming more like a berserker than the calculated killer she appeared as not even five minutes ago.

Those openings where all he needed. Among the sounds of scraping metal and sparks an entire clip's worth of gunshots could be caught by the ears of lookers watching the car slide. While attempting in vain to deflect as many blows as possible with his left arm, he pointed the gun with his right. Unloading until there was no rounds left in her general vicinity. No need or point to aiming when your opponent is in point blank range.

"Says you," about losing money. Her brows furrowed at the mention of Cam following them. "What makes you think he wasn't just headed in the same direction?" So naive! Shaking her head, she sighed. "Even if there was something sketchy going on, he doesn't seem like a bad guy. I don't know, I think we should still give him a chance. That's all I'm saying," she glanced over to her friend, sipping down the coffee. Completely and totally oblivious to what was happening no more than a block away from where they were enjoying their coffee.

"I'm not suggesting he is. I'm just saying it's not smart to just trust him like that. The entire scenario oozes suspicion. And I don't know if you did, but I caught what that woman said. 'Flirting with girls again' suggests he's got a reputation with women. And most likely not a good one. Then he comes and helps 'damsels in distress' with a thief problem. Seems a bit of staged white knighting to me." Amber took a moment to take multiple sips from her cup. "My point is, he might just be setting all this up to try and get laid Kenna. We are women." In trust yeah Amber didn't trust pretty much anyone. However in her attentiveness she learned to pay attention to key details. Yvette's words, Cam's expressions. Not just toward her, but toward Kenna as well.

Instead of shrugging off her friend's words, she listened whether she agreed with them or not. And tried her best not to roll her eyes at the assumptions made. Scooting lower in her chair, she sighed, finishing the last bit of her cappuccino that was cradled in her hands. "Even if he is, so what? Plenty of guys try to get laid." Her head nestled onto the back of the chair, she let her neck roll so she could look Amber head on. Her brows rose and she lifted her hand, twiddling the finger that held a silver Promise Ring on it. "I'm not stupid. Even if he tried, it doesn't mean I'd give it to him." Scoffing, shaking her head. "And I doubt you would either. But that doesn't mean I'm going to blow off every guy I see just because they think they can get in my pants. If it seems that way, I'll tell him straight up." Shrugging a shoulder, she gave the girl a pointed look. "If he's got a problem with that, then it's sayonarra~" Scrunching her nose at Amber, she let out a bit of a laugh. Mama didn't raise no fool! Naive and innocent, yeah. But that didn't change her morals.

Amber held a puzzled expression as Kenna spoke. Telling someone no? Words and that's that? These were foreign ideals to her. At this moment Amber began questioning if the word rape was even prominent in her world. Or if it was foreign to her like talking out things were to Amber. The differences in the two confused and perplexed Amber daily. They were definitely from different worlds. But the differences in their worlds was fascinating to say the least to Amber. And then it got her thinking. Camren spoke about Kenna's world like he was from there as well. But the feeling she got from him and Yvette suggested to her they were from hers. Having decided all the pondering would likely give her a headache, Amber rose from her chair. "I'm getting kind of hungry, let's go find some place to eat something. Baked bread with stuff that looks like semen doesn't interest me."

They were definitely from estranged worlds, those two. And though rape was something that happened in Kenna's, she didn't look at every guy and assume they were going to rape her. Amber's world both perplexed and terrified her from what she'd heard about it. It was a world she really didn't want to find herself having to survive in, really. As far as strange worlds went, Rhy'Din was the most she was wanting to go away from home. But when food was brought up, the Djinn wiggled her way into a straightened sitting position and then slowly got to her feet. Empty cup in hand, she made a terrible face at Amber's words. "Oh sick.." Shaking her head as she made some form of ick noise at that, she dumped the empty cup into the trash bin. A glance to the display case of pastries, she pouted and had to turn away from it. "I'm never going to be able to look at a glazed donut the same way again..." Crinkling her nose as she nodded her head toward the door. "Let's go, Mrs. I'm-Going-To-Ruin-Pastries-For-You-Forever."

"Oh trust me sweety, it'll be a lot more than bread I end up ruining for you. Don't expect me to have any table manners.I don't even know what that term means." And there it was, a complete change of pace. All smiles and jokes now that Cam and his lady friend were gone. Making her way over to hold the door open for her companion. "Think they might have any places that serve bear around here? I could really go for some bear... Or maybe crocodile." The moment she mentioned bear there was a slight glint in her eye. A kind of look that made one think she were about to start salivating at any moment. "Come on already, before my stomach starts speaking whale."

She let out a groan at Amber for saying she was going to ruin more than bread for the Djinn. Trailing after her slowly, she giggled at the mention of table manners. "Guess I'll just have to take your butt to etiquette school. Kenna Style." Beaming at that, there was a defiant grin that wasn't intimidating though she tried to pull of a don't try me, I'll do it! sort of look. She failed, horribly. She got to the door and paused, staring at her and blinking. "Bear...?" Yeah, totalllllly different worlds. "Um... maybe? I don't know." Reaching up to scratch the side of her head in thought, she shook her head and made a face at crocodile. "I'll stick with chicken, thanks..." Shaking her head, she passed by Amber and through the door. "I'm going, I'm going!" She chirped and giggled, holding up her hands in surrender. "I don't want an earthquake to spike up." And then she was walking off, playing Lassie once more and a horrible navigator. Maybe Amber would be better off with Lassie.

"Chicken? Those skinny birds with the weird red scrotum under their beaks? Pfft, they don't have enough meat on em. Now Rocs, hose birdies can feed a whole hunting band. Been a long time since I had Roc meat.." Amber following right after her horrible escort of a companion while going on about the different sources of quality meats as they began their pursuit of food. Maybe Amber would be better off with Lassie, but then again if she got hungry there wouldn't be a Lassie to keep pushing Timmy down that well.
