"Plaza de Troyes, this is JhaiNein speaking, how may I direct your call?"

Fluent in a variety of languages and diplomatic to the point of insanity, JhaiNein takes all calls for the Business Offices located in the Plaza. Should you wish to schedule an appointment with a psychiatrist, procure the services of a realtor, hire a private investigator, or see an astrologist about your star's path, please feel free to "call" here.

Thank you.

She'd paused in her interview with a client to call JhaiNein and let her know that Luke was coming, well that was her intent at least, but the problem with making calls in the WestEnd is that you never knew what you were going to get.

"JhaiNein that you?"

"Hello?!"

"Hey, if yer gettin this I've got --- client on--way--- will be there in an hour and I think---great---drive---ass---- Private Investigator--- great --- Jin--- you'll--- him---THANKS!"

So I followed her directions, and I came to a stop yet again, only this time in front of this Office Complex. Glass, steel, and again I had that feeling of so much more.

The Ponch was parked and secured, and after I checked the surrounding area, certain of no molesters, I walked toward the entrance, looking for this JhaiNein, whose name I wasn't going to attempt to pronounce. I liked what I saw so far. Clean, airy, a mixture of people who passed me as they entered or used that exit.

I saw a centrally located desk, and a blonde woman who seemed to be manning a post there, and hoped she could help me find the office, and where to wait for the bubbly realtor.

I took the time to read over the listing of others in the building, and wondered briefly what my astrological reading would be, when I didn't even know where in the hell I was. It wasn't Earth, nor Purgatory, but it was a damned oddity.

There was a Doctor's name listed as well, and I had only a few moments thought before I realized that it had to be a Shrink. Office set in a building like this, reminded me too much of the "Doctors" back home. I always called them Brain Pickers, and even though I didn't know this one, I wasn't planning on visiting him anytime soon.

I already know I have issues with my Father and Authority.

My Mother, died when I was young.

Yes, I have narcissistic tendencies at times.

No, I don't want your damn drugs.

I deal with my stress in...other ways.

So from my first impressions, this would be my new base of operations, and from here, I had to find a hovel to call my own.

Going Home, was the last thing on my mind.

Her six inch heels should've been impossible to walk in but the added swing in her hips revealed she had it all under control.

The miniskirt she was wearing hosted a wide belt that as nearly the same size, and the little bolero jacket accentuated the slender column of her waist. It was business appropriate...for a Playboy Bunny.

The little mockery of the suit combo helped illustrate the delicately lean lines of a long body.

Pulling the sunglasses from her face she revealed a bruise on one ice-cut cheekbone. The only anomaly in an otherwise perfect representation of Upper East Side.

"Is the Private Investigator in?" She asked in a crisp accent that to some transplanted Rhy'Dinites probably sounded a little Yorkish.

The phone rang in his office, causing him to jump. The damn thing had been silent except for a couple of order confirmations for pizza delivery. He listened as the receptionist down stairs talked to him about a woman wishing to see him, and a smile grew across his lips.

"Shall I send her to your office?" She asked, and paused as if she was looking something over. "You did not leave a message that you were away."

"Sure, Jacknine, Hanein... I have no idea how to say your name, I am sorry. But send the woman up, I am sure that she's waited long enough." Luke said.

There was an excitement, possibility of a case, or nothing more than a solicitor. But still, he smoothed his trousers, and shirt. While waiting for the woman's arrival, and practicing his introduction.

"Hi, I'm Luke Boudreux, how can I help you?"

She was made for a runway: All long lines and easy grace, the clothes accentuating crisp curves and sharp angles.

Always willing to up the ante she moved through his door on a predator's prowl, her painted lips meant to whisper secrets, tell lies, and engage in luscious hobbies.

"Mr. Boudreaux. A pleasure." And she extended a manicured hand for his to grasp, the fingernails a deep blood red and artfully shaped in the most ladylike of cosmetics.

The sunglasses had not been returned to her face and the dark bruise that mottled one perfectly elegant cheekbone seemed a stark contrast to her pampered persona.

"I was hoping you could help me."

I couldn't help but to notice that mottled bruise on her delicate face. It looked the size of a fist...a man's fist. There are few things that rile me up in this world, and hurtin' a woman in that manner is one of those things.

Her hand was as soft as I imagined it, as I took it in a gentle shake. I didn't catch her name yet, and that look in her eyes said that gentle for her, was rare.

"How can I help you, Miss...?" I was going for a name so I could look her up after we discussed how to help her.

I made up my mind, if it was a spouse, or boyfriend that did that to her cheek, he was going to lock up in bad shape.

"Please, have a seat." I motioned for the chair in front of my desk as I walked around to my chair. Something new, and a first client. Things may be looking up.

It took her a while to finally find the number. The quote-unquote Yellow Pages directory for this town hadn't been updated in ages, it seemed!

"Ummm. Hi. I needed to ... well ... scheduleanappointmentwithDr.Shilo.pleaseanddanku!

Oh! And this is Misty. I ... I guess I'm free any night but Friday, unless I can schedule something in advance.

The message had taken some deciphering but thankfully JhaiNein kept a ruthless system in check and the call was easily traceable.

The soft as molasses and just as warm tones of Dusky Beaumont would greet the caller on the other side, "Hello Misty, my name is Dusky Beaumont and I am Dr. Shilo's personal assistant. He would be delighted to keep his appointed date with you and looks forward to your planned activities. I have informed him of your call and have submitted several available dates to him for his approval. I shall contact you immediately upon his decision.

Thank you. And please, have a beautiful day."

Ever since that night in the Annex, she'd been huddled in her room, no lights, not answering the door. Nothing. 'Rin's jacket still covered her shivering shoulders that had nothing at all to do with the cold.

Her wrist-computer beeped, passing the message along. The glow of the holographic screen during playback traced the wet trails of tears on her cheeks. She hadn't even noticed she was crying, until the end of the message. Then the dam burst, and she curled up in her blankets, sobbing softly into the dark.

"Oh danku ... danku ... "

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-06-02 11:08 EST
The message arrived shortly before dawn, seeming to appear in a stack of mail that was to be opened.

It was written on heavy, dark blue paper with silver ink:

"Fiora,

I am in need of a realtor and since you are part of the RHL I figured I would ask you first.

I'm looking for a home, either in the WestEnd or New Haven, it can be a townhouse or a stand alone house. We prefer older buildings that are connected to the old tunnel system (I have enclosed a map for you), there must be a library, music room, ball room, a large kitchen (Or a floorplan that can be modified to create a large kitchen), and a large bedroom on an upper floor. We would like a garden and large yard with a high fence and a gate as we like our privacy.

While we don't wish to purchase a condemned property we are aware that we will have to make modifications to any house we purchase so it does not need to be in perfect condition. We're looking at the bones of the house rather than the dress.

If you could find something I would be very grateful.

Please feel free to ask any questions you have, if I am unable to answer them Lucien Mallorek should be consulted.

Thank you,

Kate"

Fiora's cerulean eyes could go very very wide when she was excited. Staring first from the letter to the map and then back to the letter and finally emitting a shriek: "TUNNELS! THERE ARE TUNNELS!"

And that is how Fiora Shantalaine came to know about the Underground Secret Tunnels of Rhy'Din. (Be Afraid. Be Very Very Afraid).

Miss Shantalaine,

I am writing in hopes that you would be able to set an appointment to meet with me. I am trying to locate an appropriate building suitable for my new offices. Over the past few years my business simply has outgrown being run completely out of my ranch. I look forward to meeting with you at your earliest available time, where we can discuss my needs, and what might be available.

Sincerely,

Ooooh! Excitement was a bubbling brew of chipper effervescence as the realtor fairly hopped out of her seat. Public offices for a ranch! It opened up a whole realm of possibilities she hadn't thought about beforehand.

She put pen to paper and wrote back in her looping scrawl:

Dear Mr. Duncan,

I would be delighted to offer any assistance ye might be needing. I've got office suites available at the Plaza de Troyes of course but am also willing to show ye somethin a little more private if ye'd like that instead. I'd love to meet with ye over coffee and/or sandwiches. Please feel free to stop by the Plaza any time or call my secretary, Paige Lovelace, to set up a lunch business date.

Thank ye kindly,

Fiora Shantalaine.

It was just like Rhy'Din to offer up her newest client in the form of an ally during a surprise monster attack. Jake Duncan had turned out to be a pretty decent and downright brave man willing to risk his life to help a stranger.

For that alone Fiora would find him a great deal. Of course, finding the perfect fit for her clients was exactly her favorite part about this job.

After running into Jake and Katt at the Red Dragon that morning, Fiora had settled on two perfect warehouses that could serve his purposes (both possessed a front office and a basement that could easily be converted to a library and both were near docks). The question simply lingered did he prefer the one closer to Silverblade Shipping or the one closer to the DeMuer Docks? Either offered better security simply due to their proximity to the other.

She'd wait to see what Mr. Duncan decided but she was leaning to the warehouse on the North bank, nearer DeMuer.

Nibbling at a beignet, courtesy of Katt, she dimpled at her decision to have the new business owner start catering to the Plaza. Yes, these things would most definitely bring her erstwhile business owners into the board meetings and distract them with sugary sweets...perhaps distract them enough to simply agree to her newest outrageous proposal...

She put that aside for now and checked her mail, her phone, and a glance at the door to see if any other potential clients had made their way to her.

Jake Duncan

Date: 2011-06-10 22:57 EST
It was with great excitement that Jake stopped by Fiora's office on Thursday morning. It only pleased him more to see that Katt had on his behalf in fact delivered the assortment of turnovers for the office staff.

Waiting until he saw Fiora, he offered her the plain manilla envelope.

"I decided on the place near DeMuer. I took Mira by to see it last evening and...." He nodded. "We would like to make an offer."

Jake smiled brightly and offered Fiora a busniess card. "If there are any problems you can give me a call."

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-06-12 13:50 EST
It was these moments that made her love her job. The sparkling enthusiasm in Jake's eyes had her bouncing up out of her seat to offer a hug of glee.

"Alright, I'll run the bid through." She had no doubt that it would be his and the paperwork was readied and sent out to Paige's desk to file. "Let's get ye started!"

"If ye ever need anythin else ye be sure to let me know."

((Thank you!))

Dear Mr. ConColor,

Ander! What a great idea! What kind of space did you have in mind? What services would you be offering the people of Rhydin? As a rule I generally don't do retail here at the Plaza proper but either way I can definitely find you a place, I'm sure of it! Want to meet for sandwiches and business discussions sometime this week? I'm available Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons. Let me know!

Upon receiving her reply Ander quickly grabbed a scroll and penned a response.

To Miss Fiora Shantalaine

The space I?d need will be for a caf?, its attached kitchen and nearby office for the caf? and my other two business? the caf? I?m proposing will be a place occupants of the plaza can get a quick breakfast either on their way out of or into the plaza, and also a nearby place for personal or business lunches, the food will be a mixture of local and NuTerrain dishes. As for our meeting it would my pleasure to host it at ConColor Wednesday at noon.

Yours Ander ConColor

Finishing Ander rolled the scroll tight enough to place it into an ember scroll ring and sent it to be delivered.

Jonathan Granger

For the second time in the last nine months, Jon found himself looking for a place to live.

Though conveniently close to Shanachie, Jon had left the apartment at Zen to Correy with the understanding that he'd pay the remaining rent left on the lease. He enjoyed his sister's company at Maple Grove, but didn't really like living under the watchful eyes of the rest of the family. He found himself spending so much time on the set of Crowes lately, he'd taken to sleeping in his trailer, but it left a lot to be desired in the way of comfort, not to mention Crowes was due to be done filming in a few weeks and he'd have no choice but to find another place to stay.

All things considered, it was time to get a place of his own.

Jon let his fingers do the walking through the Rhydin Yellow Pages in search of a realtor when he stumbled across an ad for Shantalaine Realty. Shantalaine, he mused. The name sounded familiar, but he wasn't sure why. Since he'd been released from the hospital, he'd learned to trust his gut when it came to such things. Since the shooting, his memory had been slow in returning, but he'd learned that if someone or something seemed familiar, it was probably because he had been acquainted with them before the shooting.

Regardless he needed to find a place to stay, so with that in mind, he picked up his cell phone and dialed the number listed, waiting patiently while the phone rang on the other end.

The imposing bookshelves stood guard over the ornate fireplace in the center of the wall. An odd assortment of knickknacks and books adorned the walls, not in the least of which was a collection of keepsake boxes. It was over one such box that Fiora delved. Nimble limbs folded in a less than decorous fashion, she was seated upon the thick sable rug before the hearth as she ran her fingers through the oddities she'd dumped out.

What meanings they might have for her were impossible to decipher as there appeared to be no rhyme or reason to their gathering. The button off a coat, the faded remnants of a napkin, and an earring were currently being studied when her phone rang.

"Got it!" She sang to no one as she was alone. Unfolding her gymnast's body in a spry leap she was at the desk in no small amount of time, unhooking the receiver and bringing it to her ear:

"Ye've reached Fiora!" She chirped into the actor's ear even as the paging beep from Paige revealed that she had someone waiting in the lobby to see her.

At the revelation that it was Mr. ConColor she bade Paige to send him up to her office even as she listened to Jon's request.

Ander Northlander

Date: 2011-08-24 19:55 EST
For their meeting, Ander had chosen to wear the closest thing he had to a suit, and was glad it still fit him (as he disliked wearing it and only wore it when he had to) in the AmTamir style barely pleated mahogany pants over leather moccasin boots of the same color but a slightly darker shade, an ember colored barely flared long sleeve shirt under an emerald green vest, his hair pulled back and held in place by an ember hair ring Under his right arm he carried several scrolls, drawing and business plans for ConColor on the Plaza, and business records from Magical Delights and ConColor to prove that he knew how to operate a successful business

Following the direction that had been given to him at the front desk Ander made his way to Fiora?s office, trying to calm himself taking several deep breaths as he went. Even though Ander appeared calm and collective on the outside there was more than a little nervousness on the inside, even though he has interacted with Fiora in the past, it had always been socially, this time it was business.

When he reached what he believed to be the correct door he knocked twice and waited for a reply.

Jonathan Granger

Date: 2011-08-25 20:07 EST
Jon waited patiently while the phone rang, until he heard a voice answer on the other end. "Hello, is this Miss Shantalaine? This is Jonathan Granger. I was wondering if you could help me. I'm looking for an apartment, something spacious and comfortable with adequate security and close to downtown. A condo or penthouse maybe. Do you think you can help me?"

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-08-30 07:24 EST
She was busily chatting away on the phone as she let Ander in. A quick sweep of the door revealing the dapper dressed gentleman to her enthusiastically cheerful wave. She simultaneously welcomed him inside her spacious and well appointed office and gave him the I'll-be-right-with-you look.

"Oh Jon, I've got the perfect place for ye! Great security and ye'll actually be able to keep yer fancy car nearby if ye like. It's beautiful and stately and perfect for ye. In fact it was where I first thought ye'd fit but then ye settled on the Gardens and I can't argue about that because the Gardens are super spectacularly unique. Oh speakin of, does this mean ye're movin out?" Before he could answer the possibly awkward question she was full speed ahead answering it for him, "Oh I bet ye need TWO Places what with bein a big movie superstar!"

The idea of multiple homes just tickled her something fierce and she floated about the office on a lithe little spinning dance to demonstrate her exuberance. Pausing in her ushering of Ander to the couch to perform it.

"I'd love to meet ye at Luks Condos this afternoon if ye got a minute dodgin the paparazzi. I just bet ye have to wear sunglasses at night now!"

Yup. Cue Song.
Just a few bars thankfully.

And as she came to a quivering stop at the beverage bar in her office she arched a look at Ander as to inquire about which drink he preferred. Finally giving Jonathan a moment to get a word in.

Jonathan Granger

Date: 2011-08-30 19:20 EST
Jon laughed when he heard Fiora break into song. The woman's effervescent enthusiasm was contagious. "Um, no, thankfully, it hasn't come to that just yet." Sunglasses during the day maybe, but not at night. Not yet, anyway.

Realizing she must have been at least partly responsible for finding the apartment at Zen, he decided to follow her lead, not wanting to admit that he didn't remember her or anything much of what his life had been like before the shooting.

"I moved out of the Gardens a few months ago," he explained, not really wanting to go into an explanation, preferring to keep his private life private.

"I'm..." He hesitated a moment before continuing, feeling a bit awkward. "I'm not sure if Correy is still there or not." That was something she was going to have to find out for herself.

"Luks Condos..." Jon repeated, trying to remember where exactly that was located. The place sounded familiar. No matter. He'd find it, one way or another. He glanced at his watch, thinking he might be able to squeeze a little free time into his afternoon, if all went well on the set. "Is four o'clock too late?"

Ander Northlander

Date: 2011-08-30 22:09 EST
In response to her inquiry Ander replied in just a whisper, loud enough for her to hear and understand him but low enough as not to interrupt her conversation, ?Thank you strong coffee if you have it, or just water if you don?t.?

As he waited for her, Ander separated the scrolls he was carrying, putting the facts and figure ones to one side on the couch beside him placing two on the coffee table in front of him, he unrolled them he gently passing his hand over the drawings and smiled thinking to himself

?Soon the dream that is represented by these drawing could be a reality?,

Then weighting down the corners with small but heavy crystal clusters he waited for Fiora to finish her phone conversation. As he mentally reviewed the points of his presentation to Fiora

One had conception drawings of the front * and inside of the proposed space he would need** the other scroll a set of detailed floor plans showing the caf? its attached kitchen and the detached offices space***

*an arch that serves as an entrance, took up the center third of the front wall and came perhaps a foot below the ceiling the words ConColor on the Plaza across the top in loose script, the rest of the wall is a naturally decorated aquarium housing large fish with the general shape of butterfly koi.

**the majority of the floor space is taken up by a checkerboard pattern of tables and four chairs but not your average tables or chairs for none had any legs or other means of solid support, the chairs have thick cushions before each chair on the table is a formal place setting and a centerpieces on each table is an orchid in full bloom potted in an orchid box. Along the back wall were several curtained booths Another drawing shows in the center of the room a water feature almost reaching the ceiling, water cascading down from the top of a rock cluster, passing through several various size natural ?bowls? as it traveled to a surrounding pond at the base, with water orchid growing in its multiple levels

***in a roughly 50 by 50 foot square the right 30x 50 space being the caf? the left front 20 x20 foot space being the office and the left back 20 x30 foot space being the cafes kitchen and storage

Fiora Shantalaine

"Four o'clock it is!" She sang happily as she sent an appreciative glance at Ander's soft interjection. Pouring the coffee she made a mental note to stop by and check on Correy first chance she got. For one, it was her duty as the realtor of the Gardens, but mostly because of the tension that had filled Jonathan's voice at the mentioning of his name.

Finishing out the details and farewells, she ended the call and turned to her guest, "Mr. ConColor it is so good to see ye again, I must say I've been cravin yer acorn treat--" She paused on a GASP! at the floorplan laid out before her, his coffee held out in a half extension toward him.

"Oh! oh! Oh!" The giddy little sounds would've been accompanied by clapping but the hot black coffee in her grasp kept her from such actions, "It's stupendous!"

"Were do you want to build it, we could--" And then the title leapt out at her, "Here?!" Sea swept eyes widened dramatically as she considered the opportunity presenting itself. While she'd been adamant that the Plaza remain a business services industry and not retail of any kind, it occurred to her that perhaps she was limiting herself. The Plaza folks could easily venture from their offices to dine in such a perfectly luxuriously pleasing sanctuary.

"Ooh, let's talk business."

Ander Northlander

Date: 2011-09-07 06:58 EST
?Yes lets,? Ander replied an almost smile on his face, taking the coffee from her outstretched hand, the hot coffee nearly spilling over from the cup as her hands went into non-contact clapping ?And please call me Ander. If it is possible could the front of the caf? open into a central location perhaps the main lobby of the plaza? First would I be buying the space or renting it and if renting would the rent be a set amount or a percentage of what was taken in. Before you answer let me show you what you?ll be getting,?

Taking a drink of coffee and setting down the cup before pointing to the drawing of the exterior of the caf?, as he explained ?As you can see most of the front wall is an aquarium, constructed of unbreakable crystal and there is a large water feature in the center of the eating area, the rocks will be hollow to keep weight down and hide any needed pumps filters and tubing. Both of which I will take responsibility for the care and maintenance of. I have my own construction crew who can install both of them as well as wall coverings and installation of the kitchen appliances.
All deliveries both before and after opening will be made by secured portal, so as not to disrupt normal business activities of the plaza, to which you or your representative will have access? A look of questioning hope crossing his face, ?That is, if there is no problem with me sitting up portals in the office and kitchen areas??

Then pointing to the drawing of the interior ?The interior will be decorated similarly to the eating level of ConColor?s in the Market Place but with slightly less formal place setting and dinning ware, as you can see the majority of the tables are in the open area but along the back wall are curtained booths for when more privacy is wanted or needed, the curtains are made of crystal fibers that from the inside of the booth are transparent but from the outside appear to be silk,?

Another drink of his coffee and Ander continued, ?As I said in my letter whereas ConColor nightclub in the market place is geared to dinner and beyond ConColor on the plaza will serve breakfast and lunch as well as what I call nibbles if you like I have a scroll with the menus of each, he paused before adding with a slightly larger smile, ?And I can tell you that acorn tarts are definitely there.

Ander then took a drink of his coffee and waited for the information he had giving to settle in and then a response.

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-09-09 14:44 EST
He had her at the acorn tarts. Granted she was becoming a shrewd enough business woman not to give it complet---"YES! Oh this sounds perfect! We can have ye just off the atrium, across from the Ballroom for private functions."

Humming to herself to she considered the plans he'd laid out before her, not even blinking at the mention of portals only giving a quick nod of agreement.

"Oh aye, could send sandwiches right up to my office without interruptin any business, ye could! Mmm, hmm... "

Somewhere, somehow, in all the busy chatter she'd managed to pull out a clipboard with legal forms, columns, numbers, and she was already busily scribbling out the parameters, "Lease agreement certainly, but maybe every two years?"

"My only request would have to be once a week featurin' a special treat from the Bon Bon Boutique. Like a guest chef kinda thing? Would that be doable?" She lifted wide hopeful cerulean eyes.

Ander Northlander

Date: 2011-09-10 00:16 EST
?Yes that will work.? He said a friendly smile on his face, leisurely taking a sip of his coffee, thinking to himself ?yes that would work very well it might even work into some catering events.?
He could see her poker face and being a business man himself understood its use and he hoped his was just as good, ?Certainly food could be sent to any office, not only sandwiches but salads, soups, even a light meal as well, almost anything from the lunch menu.?

A sip of coffee ?But I?m afraid only lunch could be delivered, breakfast would have to be either eaten at the caf? or picked up to go, and snacks what I call nibbles would be grab and go.?

Another sip of his coffee as he appeared to pondered the lease agreement period, getting a very thoughtful look on his face then replying ?yes Two years will be agreeable.? His face reverting to it friendliness

?As far as once a weekly feature from Bon Bon Boutique,? his cup again going to his lips before adding do you think that they might be interested in having a few items on our breakfast and nibbles menu as well as a weekly special?? A final sip before empting his cup ?Or perhaps even a treat exchange program??

Putting his empty cup on a clear section of table he lifted the corner weight and rolled up the scrolls putting them with the others, freeing the table for the papers Fiona was working on

Fiora Shantalaine

"I will put something together for Katt." She considered his other statement and was immediately thinking of other caterers in the area that he could feature. It would make for a fabulous promotional idea. And just what if they could feature flowers from that delightful Athalie?

The paperwork was drawn up rather quickly. For some reason this part always came rather easily to the flighty realtor and with a few signatures here and there she had signed Ander to the Plaza.

Construction would start the following morning. It looked like the Plaza was getting its very own Cafe.

A crate was delivered to Fiora?s office inside were a large number of highly polished wooden boxes inside each was what looked to be six inch x 1 inch clear raw crystals mounted on 6inch across circular bases of ember crystal trimmed in emerald and two scrolls one larger than the other, and the following message on a scroll on tom of them.

Please could you do me the following favor, as I do not know the residence of the plaza as well as you do could you please give one to everyone you believe would be interested in having deliveries.

When a box was open inside was what looked to be six inch x 1 inch clear raw crystals mounted on 6inch across circular bases of ember crystal trimmed in emerald and two scrolls one larger than the other, and the unrolled the smaller one was a lunch menu* for ConColor on the Plaza, and the larger the following explanation

She was in the process of cooing over the menu when her phone rang.

The Advertisements for the Small Business Fund had come out. She reminded herself to send a quick missive of congratulatory gratitude for Silver.

ConColor was coming up fast.

She needed to get with Katt and soon about featuring her BonBons at the Cafe ...aaaand...she needed to start getting started on that Halloween planning. Just as soon as someone explained the holiday to her. Again. Because it still wasn't making much sense.

And it was time to make a tough decision about the Gardens. A frown descended upon her features as she doodled a circle around the notation in her planner. The trek into West End didn't make any sense now that the Realtor's Shop was closed. All of her neighbors were hardly ever home and the ones she'd moved in to be close to had moved on a long time ago.

She nibbled at her lower lip. There was always Luks. But it was so fancy that sometimes she felt like an interloper playing pretend when she was visiting Dusky or Euriya.

Taptaptaptap...went her pen.

Lost in thought.

Part 1

She arrived early that morning. On foot. Dressed rather snazzily for all that she was skipping along like a demented schoolgirl. Her expensive purse swinging alongside her thigh as she sang, "Up in his treetop all day long, hoppin and a boppin and a singin his song, what a silly little jaybird that rockin robin was..."

At the sight of the Plaza she took a moment to sigh in appreciation.: A beautiful edifice of state of the art techno mixed with magic arts, the building somehow managed to maintain some of the simplicity of design that spoke to the medieval influences of the area. Dancing up the steps toward the main doors she noted that she was the first to arrive. She paused to remove her key, a shimmering marvel of magitek that hummed a pretty tone of recognition.

Fiora remained oblivious to the motorcycle that sat in front of the Plaza and the rider leaned against the wall. For every bit of snazz Fiora had, Candy Hart was the opposite. Firstly, she was covered in dried mud. From choppy hair, black shirt, jeans and down to her boots. Her leather jacket had been spared the treatment, draped over her messenger bag that sat at her feet. Ash flicked to the ground from her cigarette as she spoke up, "You the realtor?"

Naivete or a refusal to let the world tarnish her innocence, had Fiora spinning about to greet the stranger with not a hint of bother at being called out by a perfect stranger on the street corner in the barely risen light of the dawn. Dimples flashed, her smile gamine and encouraging as she spun about and chimed, "I am! That's me! Fiora Shantalaine, Making your Realty Dreams a Reality!" Yup, she was as bubbly as a puppy and as frenetic as a toddler on pixie sticks.

Fiora noticed the mild grimace that came her way and watched as a hand lifted to run through the muddy strands of hair, "Good. Cause I'm lookin for a place... " Killing the smoke on the heel of her boot, she bent over to pick up her jacket and bag.

"I can totally help with that." No hesitation at the mud or the smokes, or the attitude. In fact, she might as well be greeting a sprite for all of her good cheer. "What kinda place did ye have in mind? Ye'll need somewhere to keep yer bike obviously, and ye'll probably want somethin closer to town, ye don't strike me as the rustic type? Unless that's what yer after, cuz I've got the cutest little cottage in the Southern Glen that just came available after the gal who owned it ran off with a unicorn." The doors had parted to admit them into the marbled glorious foyer of the Plaza de Troyes. The balcony mezzanine high above their head, hosting the offices of the plazamates. The outrageous desk that operated at the center was unmanned presently, though the newly created ConColor Cafe was starting to bustle just through the doors on the right. Two double doors behind the desk led to the Ballroom, while yet another barely noticeable slender door led down to the vault. But it was to the elevator banks between the sweeping staircases that she led Candy if she were willing.

"Privacy. Security." Candy's eyes trailed over the interior of the building, taking note of the layout and other businesses. She followed behind Fiora at a comfortable distance, the woman looked and acted like she might be the touchy type. "I'd like to limit the paperwork involved." Something in her tone made it seem like what she was really asking for was to be a ghost as far as records were concerned. "is that an issue?" Stopping by the elevators, her eyes focused behind them.

The dialogue had frozen Fiora momentarily as she considered that. No one had ever asked such a thing and she was rather proud of her bureaucratic sense of record keeping. It kind of kept her flighty sense of personality well-grounded. The elevator sang its arrival in a pretty charming little tone and seemed to reanimate her. Cerulean eyes swept over Candy in consideration as she stepped inside the Box on a Cable as she liked to call it. "No records." Considering-ly. "Are ye payin' for the place outright or would ye be considerin a payment plan, rental, lease kinda thing?"

"Out right. With cash." Candy replied and moved toward the elevator, her hand placed against the door to keep it from closing. She waited for Fiora's response before stepping in. No sense going up if she might not go any further than this.

"Oooh..." Cerulean eyes sparkled in excitement. Cash. Outright. These were words that would buy privacy simply because she adored them the way a child adored their toys.
"This sounds."
"Clandestine." And she really honestly rubbed her hands together.

Candy smirked. A quick amused exhale of air through her nose and she stepped onto the elevator and let the door close behind them. "Guess we're in business."

"Business? Are ye thinkin' of startin' one?" She nearly clapped in glee, misreading the conversational cue as the elevator shot up the shaft in such a way as to leave them untouched by the speed but doing so in such a quick fashion as to reveal the dual workings of magic and technology at play. The doors chimed and she was dancing off the elevator eagerly, "What kind of work are ye into? Did ye want a residence near the business? Are ye in the market for a new place? Speaking of residence. Are we talkin stand-a-lone? Or do ye like neighbors like condos and apartments? And what part of town? New Haven is hella pricey and West End is hella cheap with the associated issues of bein' in West End. There's always Old Temple District, which is fabulous for stayin off the grid and bein unnoticed, most people don't wanna know yer business." She was astute for all of her giddiness.

"There's New Purgatory, another great place for layin' low without the magic and technology mishaps of West End, but with the same kind of neighborhood."

Micro-twitch. "No business. Figure of speech." Candy could hardly contain all the words that had come out of Fiora's mouth in her head. She waved off the business thing, "No neighbors. Privacy. Space. I don't mind seclusion. I wouldn't stay at the inn cause you can't keep track of who is there and why."

"Nothing magic." Another micro-grimace.

Nod. Nod. Triple Nod. Down the exquisite hall and through the doors of her rather stately and luxurious office. The desk was ignored as she instead made her way to the large plush couches that were arranged before the fireplace. Motioning Candy in their direction she headed for the filing cabinets marked by districts. "No Magic. Privacy." A flicker of concentration as she gleaned information from the monosyllables that belied her seeming silliness. "Need to know who and what is around you. Space is a must." She was already compiling several options. "Yer gonna want protection and," A narrowing of her eyes as she followed through to her conclusions, "to be able to see those who approach. No commercial businesses in the area so there are no excuses for people to be coming and going.

Candy glanced at the plush couches, then she shouldered her bag and jacket to the foot of one just before she took a seat at the edge. Giving a nod to each point.

Demonstrating that she probably had inferred quite a bit about the people of Rhy'Din Fiora was quick to determine Candy's needs, "I've got this great abandoned bunker in Market District that doesn't fit in with the usual clientele so it gets overlooked and will go for an easily achievable price." A wrinkled nose as she drew out its dossier and rummaged in another drawer, "I've also got this former Abbey in Old Temple, just across the bridge that has been renovated by a former cop from another realm."

"There's this studio apartment that was used as an archery range and headquarters for an Elven contingent of gloryseekers...." She peeked up at that one, "It's got this really cool climbing wall."

"You check the Abbey lately?" Candy had to give a twitch of a smile, she knew a lot of people that squatted in old churches or mansions... herself being among those numbers. Leaning back, she rubbed the back of her neck. "Would I have room enough for a... " She tried to think of a good way to describe it, "personal gym.... training space in those places?" A few scrapes here and there and red knuckles. Candy looked like she fought for fun or pay or both.

Fiora's lips drew to the side in an odd wrinkled way of thought. The dossier held out to Candy for consideration as she mentally went through her walkthrough, "Oh aye, it also had a storage room with an exit route that is in the floor plans, though there's another one in the bathroom that isn't."

Candy took the dossier from her and flipped through it, scanning over the information there. Without looking up, "You got time to go by these places, I'd like a walkthrough before I make any decisions."

"That'd be grand." She loved exploring places. Adored it in fact it was one of the perks for the realty business that she adored. "We could go now!" Eyes lit up in excitement, "Can I ride on yer bike?"

There seemed no other way to it, still Candy grunted inwardly. Tossing the dossier to the table, she nodded. "Guess you'll have to...,We'll check out the Abbey and the bunker." Picking up her jacket and her bag again.

"Yes!" And there was a high kick of joy joy, "It has been forever since I've been on a mechanical horse!"

*********

Fiora regaled Candy with her experiences on mechanical horses, how awesome a person Jatari was, neat and interesting details about every single place they went past (which actually demonstrated a working knowledge of Rhy'Din that was surprisingly acute), and the perfection that was sandwiches, booty calls, friends with benefits, and the dangers of getting married with the Nexus always looming around to take people away once they fell in love, and of course her opinions on the upcoming Hockey season.

Candy got a free lunch, probably a headache, and a perfect covert bunker just on the dirtier edges of the Marketplace.

Cian Granger

Date: 2011-10-10 14:29 EST
Cian wandered into the Plaza, a duffel bag slung over one shoulder, on his way to hockey practice. He'd been living at Kesey for the last few months, but he no longer felt comfortable there.

A drifter with a strong sense of wanderlust, he didn't really settle down any one place for very long. His heart earned for adventure, and he longed to sail the sea, but without a ship or a crew, for now, it was only a dream. At least, until hockey season was over, and until hockey season was over, he needed a place to stay, a place to call home.

What was home? Was it just a place to hang your hat, like the old saying went? He hadn't felt like he had a real home in a very long time.

Cian cleared his throat as he approached the receptionist's desk, having no idea the girl behind the desk was related in any way. "Excuse me, I'm here to see Ms. Shantalaine about an apartment. My name is Cian Granger." No, he didn't have an appointment, but she was the owner of the Wargs, and he knew she'd recognize his name.

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-10-14 19:03 EST
Poor Paige didn't even get a chance to respond as Fiora was bebopping through the doors at that exact moment and trilled an excited, "CIAN!" And then she erupted into a series of hooting hollers best saved for hockey matches, "OOT-OOT! OOT-OOT! GRANGER!"

"It is so totally awesome to see ye!" And she was a hugger. Oh damn.

"Whaddya in for? Is it about the hockey team?" And she winced because with everything else she felt like she'd let the puck slide on that one....hahahahaha...she was giggling even as she had the punny thought. The whirlwind of emotions visible across her expressive face.

Cian Granger

Date: 2011-10-15 13:29 EST
Cian couldn't help but chuckle at Fiora's overabundance of enthusiasm. He smiled as he found himself getting hugged by his boss-lady and actually blushed a little at her hollering. Getting hooted and hollered at during a hockey game was one thing, but off the ice it was a little embarrassing.

He flashed an almost shy smile at the receptionist before untangling himself from Fiora's hug.

"Actually, I'm here about an apartment. I've been staying at Kesey and..."

How did he explain that he was looking for something with a few more creature comforts? A little more security, a little more privacy, a few more amenities. Maple Grove wasn't an option either. Living with your family afforded very little privacy, and estranged or not, he was a Granger, so money was no object.

"I'm looking for something a little more..." What was the word he was looking for? "Comfortable?"

Paige Granger

Date: 2011-10-15 18:50 EST
Paige barely had time to register the man's face, let alone his name, before Fiora came cheering out of her office. The woman had ears that rivaled elven if not better! A kind smile was offered to Cian.

"I do believe Ms. Shantalaine has time for you, Mr. Granger." Paige stated with amusement.

He was family, one she did not know of, but work was current and besides his hands were full. Such a statement couldn't be any truer when it came to Fiora and her hugs.

Since it seemed they were going to have their meeting in front of her desk she did her best not to listen in and straighten up her desk in order to look busy. "Can I get you anything to drink Mr. Granger? Ms. Shantalaine? And Ms. Shantalaine? I am not sure you seen but I think Mr. Ander left you a basket at your door." Hopefully Fiora didn't trip over that on her way out of her office.

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-10-16 11:31 EST
"Comfortable?" She could totally do comfortable! And on that note she grinned impishly at Paige, "I think ye should totally join us for some hot cocoa, Miss Lovelace. Just seems the comfortable thing to do."

And then she was sidetracked, "A package from Ander!? Ooooh!" Excited trill as she darted for the elevator. "Well come on then! I'm sure it will have a ton of goodies in it!"

Cian Granger

Date: 2011-10-16 14:47 EST
Cian looked between the two women, whose exuberant enthusiasm was almost infectious, and smiled warmly. He couldn't remember when the last time was that he'd had a cup of hot cocoa. Probably the last time he'd visited home and spent some time with his sister, Gabriella. It had been a while, to say the least.

Cian turned to Fiora's receptionist, still having no idea they were at all related. Somewhat estranged from the family, he'd never been too close to most of them and had lost track of names and faces long ago. He extended a friendly hand to the girl and a smile to go along with it. He'd already introduced himself, but it seemed like the polite and proper thing to do, not that he knew much about manners.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Lovelace. I'm Cian. I play left wing for the Wargs."

Victoria Granger

Date: 2011-10-18 10:34 EST
Oh, wow. Talk about bad timing. Vicki paused in the doorway of the Plaza, her eyes on the little group gathered around the reception desk with a wry smile. She'd been hoping to catch a time when there were no people waiting, when she wouldn't be interrupting, but of course, that just wasn't to be. Added to that she'd arrived in time to hear the man introduce himself as a Granger, and she couldn't have timed it worse.

Still, she was here now. Undoing the buttons on her dufflecoat, she dropped herself down into one of the seats in the reception and dragged a very battered copy of Lord and Ladies out of her pocket, turning to a page at random. She was more than happy to read until Ms Shantalaine had time for her.

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-10-18 11:33 EST
Fiora did trip.

However it was not due to Ander's gift basket, which she'd stopped to scoop up and spin about excitedly to show off. No, it was the backpedal from there that found the 2 foot...rooster?

Flashy heels kicked high, skirts flounced, a startled squeak, and she was upended. Though a hint of the acrobat remained as she turned it into a roll and found her feet with a breathless laugh. "Whoa nelly! I found a cock in my office!"

Sweeping her russet curls back from her face she dropped to her knees to read about her prize:

"I won a cock!" She beamed in thrilled glee, dimples deep and blinding as she wrapped her arms about the thing and brandished it at Cian and Paige quite happily. "How auspicious is that?!"

Yes, she just dropped the word auspicious in the middle of her gleeful tirade. Up! She hopped and looked for the perfect place for her prized possession to maintain its position of honor.

"I'm gonna take it as a sign! I was hemming and hawing about entering into my own commercial property place but this is a SIGN people! A SIGN!"

She practically quivered with excitement: "How would ye like to be the first tenant of the CHATEAUS de TROYES!?"

...Of course it was near impossible for all of this racket not to carry down to the new arrival.

Paige Granger

Date: 2011-10-18 12:52 EST
"I don't think it's goodies, Ms. Shantalaine." She tried to call after Fiora. It was too late. She chuckled and smiled to Cian. "A pleasure Mister Granger. I'm Paige. I'll get you and Ms. Shantalaine your cocoa."

Looking to Victoria who seemed to be waiting. She'd excuse herself, coughing a laugh when she heard Fiora's 'find' in her office. She shook her head and made her way to Victoria.

"Hello, Miss. Welcome to Plaza de Troyes. I am Paige Lovelace. How might I assist you?" There was a warm smile for Victoria when she got her nose out of her book.

Cian Granger

Date: 2011-10-18 21:05 EST
Cian seemed a little shell shocked at first by Fiora's exuberance, then there was the suggestion of hot cocoa, and the final straw was the rooster sculpture. "C*ckadoodle-do?" he remarked quietly, with a small smirk.

And then she was moving on to something else again, as changeable as Rhydin's weather. He could hardly keep up with her, and he was not exactly know for being laid back.

He arched a brow in reply. First tenant? "The Chateaus de Troyes? I've never heard of it. Is it part of the Plaza?"

Euriya Shilo

Date: 2011-10-19 23:11 EST
?So you see, Mr. Galvier,? Euriya said as he opened the door, the cacophony of voices coming from down the hall widening his eyes in surprise. Quickly he turned back to the man he escorted from his office and continued. ?, as I explained earlier, it would be imprudent and uncivilized to kill Mr. Shumacher.?

?But Doc, did you see the Lost Boys? I mean, how am I supposed to let him off the hook for that? It was an insult to my people. In one scene he has us hanging from the ceiling like bats!? The man was agitated, yet doing a great job of keeping himself under control. ?Like bats!?

?I understand your irritation, truly I do. But let?s remember, that was only a movie. It wasn?t real. You?re real, Mr. Galvier. A real vampire. Joel Shumacher has nothing on you.?

?Or that bitch Stephanie Meyer!?

?Your hour is up. I?m sorry. Please see Mrs. Beaumont for your follow up appointment.? He offered that warm, reassuring smile before motioning the man toward Dusky?s desk. He made it a point to keep his vampire patients constantly on the move, mainly because he didn?t want any of them dallying around the lobby when Shen Lei came through. It was those sorts of misunderstandings that might send the devastating Hunter into a frenzy, which could ultimately result in a thinning clientele.

Eyes averted from the departing nosferatu to observe the cause of the ruckus, and he was utterly astonished to find it originating from the office of Rhy?din?s most prolific realtor.

Or he wasn?t surprised one bit.

He wasn?t sure what all the c*ck talk was about ? with Fiora at the center of it all it could have been about anything ? and wasn?t sure that he wanted to know. He slipped back into his office again, closing the door behind him.

Victoria Granger

Date: 2011-10-20 02:45 EST
Surprised to be addressed directly by one of the three who had seemed to be disappearing into the realtor's office - although not so surprised by the exclamation from inside the office, Mataya's warning having been quite thorough - Vicki looked up from her book into the smiling face of the young receptionist.

Rising to her feet, she stuffed the battered paperback into her pocket once again, offering Paige her hand by way of greeting. "Hello," she grinned, not even trying to hide her amusement at the overheard snatch of conversation from the psychiatrist and his patient as they passed by. "I'm Vicki Marshall, I was told that this is the best place to find a halfway decent flat to rent?"

She shrugged lightly, flicking copper hair over her shoulder and out of the way as she lowered her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "Is everything on offer as expensive as it looks?"

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-10-20 09:52 EST
She buzzed about the office like a hummingbird. Flitting from one spot to the next as she settled the rooster in various locales, obviously looking for her favorite place for the new shiny still. "I might just have to commission a stand of its very own..." muttered to herself before her gaze rose to Cian and blinked owlishly for a moment.

"Oh right! We were in the middle of somethin'!" The rooster finally ended up dead center of the coffee table in the center of the cozy little arrangement of couches and chairs in front of the impressive fireplace that even now housed a cheerfully crackling fire that was a vivid bright lime-green.

She flounced back on the couch with a wicked giggle that bubbled up from somewhere low, "Okay, there."

"So, we were talkin' about the Chateaus. See, I've been thinkin' about this complex that isn't far from here. Great place, been renovated and I was contracted to sell it, but I think I'm gonna own it! It's great! Swimming pond, little chateaus all about. Price-wise it is between the Gardens and the Luks. Nowhere near as pricey as the Luks but a little more steep than the Gardens cuz it's location is SUPERB."

She remembered she had pictures and was back up to find them.

Cian Granger

Date: 2011-10-25 18:47 EST
Cian watched Fiora quickly flit about her office, like a hummingbird, buzzing from one thing to another, never staying on one topic very long. He eyed the fireplace and the lime green flames wondering how she managed that, but nothing was impossible or out of the question in RhyDin.

He followed her to the couch, unzipping his black hoodie on which was emblazoned an emblem of the Wargs, as he lowered himself onto a chair.

A chateau sounded different. A place of his own that would afford him a little bit of luxury and privacy and wasn't too horribly expensive. Despite that, he frowned a little.

"I just have two questions..." Because the price of rent wasn't really an issue. "When can I see them and how soon can I move in?"

Paige Granger

Date: 2011-10-26 08:38 EST
Paige watched the woman with a summer warm smile. "Halfway. My dear Miss Marshall. Fiora could find you your dream home at a reasonable price or work with you on a monthly payment so you could own such luxuries."

A giggle came from her at the whisper and her voice lowered to a stage whisper. "With Fiora you never know my dear." She winked and raised her voice. "Excuse me. I'll be right back!"

Paige went off in a hurry which with Fiora she had absolutely no choice in. If she wasn't quick there would be no way she could keep up with Fiora. Rich hot gourmet cocoa was prepared with whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon.

One would be delivered to 'sex in a suit' aka Euriya who Paige did see attempt a grand escape. Coward! Knuckles tapped on his office door. "Mr. Shilo I have some cocoa for you. I'll just leave it out here." The heavy mug was placed on a table near the door in an arrangement so it wouldn't spill.

Turning she hurried off to Vicki, setting down a piping hot mug of cocoa down on the table for her. "Ms. Shantalaine will be with you shortly, Miss Marshall. If you need anything please feel free to ask me." Paige smiled to the woman and excused herself to deliver the last two mugs.

Entering Fiora's office she stayed out of the way of the buzzing Fiora and made a beeline for Cian. Tray held out she waited for him to take one of the remaining two mugs. She had just heard Cian and decided it was best to speak up while she could, "Ms. Shantalaine, before you flutter off to show Mr. Granger I would like to remind you that you have another outside waiting to speak to you."

She winked over to Fiora and held out the tray to her too when she buzzed on by.

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-10-30 12:21 EST
Paige knew her compatriots well, Fiora was just seconds from exclaiming "field trip!" and dragging Cian off to see the Chateaus.

She exclaimed in excitement over the delicious hot chocolate and settled down momentarily to lick a dollop of the cream from the top. The tip of her tongue hitting the heated liquid and stealing a squeak from her.

"Mmmmmm....." Heavenly rolled eyes and a contented sigh as she let the flavors dissolve.

"Oh well, if Cian doesn't mind we'll combine the two? Aye?" She asked in that way that people had that didn't really imply much in the way of an answer was needed. She was a bit of a steamroller, but a pleasant steamroller.

Still carrying the hot chocolate in her greedy little hands she poked her head out of her office to look over the mezzanine and at the patiently waiting Victoria Marshall. "We were just gettin' ready to pay a visit to my newest property. The Chateaus de Troyes! Want to join us?"

There was something about the way that she asked: A delighted air of pleasure and the promise of personally thrilling her with the agreement.

Cian offered an easy-going smile to the women. He was usually up for anything, especially if it even remotely resembled an adventure. Okay, so going to see a new apartment wasn't exactly an adventure, but it was something new and he didn't have anything else exciting going on at the moment but hockey practice.

"The more the merrier," he declared, hopping up from the couch to follow after the exuberant Fiora, who, like himself, never seemed satisfied to sit still for very long.

Euriya Shilo

The mug of cocoa stood idle for a long moment, seemingly ignored, the light haze slithering from its delicious facade dwindling with the lengthening of time unnoticed. Finally the door opened and Euriya emerged, trusted blackberry secured in a right hand that fell to his side. A curious glance around presented obvious inquiry as to the reason for his interruption, though when his eyes found the cup sitting nearby he fully understood. Pushing his glasses higher up the bridge of his nose, he took the mug and brought it to his lips, pausing there to indulge in the delightful aroma.

"Thank you." He offered politely into the bustle of people at the far end of the hall, hoping to find the ears of the Plaza's gentle admin.

Ander's party had gone off smashingly well the previous evening and Fiora had looked cute as a button in her little pirate costume - Euriya had joined her in a similar outfit, satisfying her requirement of him to indulge in the festivities of All Hallow's eve. They'd gotten back to his condo late and stayed up even later, which made for a rather lethargic following day. Still, that hadn't deterred him from a thousand crunches to start off his morning, not to mention a round on the weight machine.

He intended to pay Tasha a visit later on that day, wanting to make sure she was handling the influx of spiritual activity this time of year presented without much trouble. He knew that there were certain aspects of her profession that were bothersome, and could almost guarantee that the last day of October was one of them. He also had to have a quick conversation with Lei, along with Rufus, about the proper conduct of dealing with people on Halloween. The last thing he wanted was the deadly Slayer extracting her form of justice on some unsuspecting mortal dressed like a nosferatu. While he was certain the astute combination of her and her Watcher could discern the difference between real and imitation, magic within Rhy'din cold make such a diagnosis rather murky.

The vibration of his phone caught his attention and he checked the crystalline light of the screen, a grin slowly forming.

Seemed the owner of Rhy'din's newest Hockey Franchise was about to sign his first player.

Over the rim of his glasses eyes inclined, catching sight of the flittering Realtor as she whipped about amongst the crowd.

Game time.

To be honest, Vicki had just been settling herself in for a long-haul wait, having heard a few things about the charming Ms Shantalaine and her flights of fancy from not one, but two previous clients of hers. After all, a book and hot chocolate; what else would she need to keep herself entertained?

She'd just taken a large gulp of the thickly sweet beverage when the option to join in was put to her by what appeared to be, from this angle, the disembodied head of the realtor herself. Swallowing quickly, the redhead lowered the mug, her bemused smile all manner of entertained by the floorshow in the first place, and nodded.

"Um ... yeah, why not?" she laughed cheerfully. "It's not like I have anywhere else to be today." Although the latent practicality in her nature - and her experience of Rhy'Din so far - did urge her to add, "This isn't a euphemism for some kind of orgy, is it?"

Fiora Shantalaine

Fiora had had to think about that one for a little bit, as far as euphemisms went it was a good one.

She probably referred to it about a dozen times while leading Cian and Victoria around the grounds of the Chateaus. Still under construction quite a few of them were already completed and the designs were randomly differentiated based upon the structure of the land around them. Some built into the trees themselves, one tucked into a hillside, another on stilts and still others completely stand alone units. Most were easily accessible from paths from the Great Lodge, others required a more determined visitor to reach.

Jeeps were available at the Great Lodge for tenants and prospective clients to explore the land. Giving Cian and Victoria space to get acquainted with the place, Fiora left them in the capable hands of the Hobbit Staff. A visit with Fabian had sealed the security aspect and by the time she ventured back to the Lodge it looked like she had a definite in Cian, though she was rather surprised to discover he seemed quite interested in a tree house.

Questioning cerulean eyes took in Victoria as she sought her response, "So is this yer style or were ye thinkin' somethin' more urban?"

Cian wandered around the grounds, exploring the various structures, some still under construction, some already built. At over six feet tall, a hobbit hole was definitely out of the question, and while he'd briefly considered a tree house, he'd decided going up and down the ladder would get a little tedious after a while.

He drove around, looking at this and that, but nothing seemed quite right, until just as he was getting reading to leave, he finally stumbled upon a place that interested him. He wasn't quite sure if it was even belonged to the property, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

And so, he found himself back at the Great Lodge, inquiring about the quaint, little secluded cottage he'd found in the woods...

There was no denying it - the prospective Chateau De Troyes was a beautiful sight, ready to be further beautified by the residents as they came flooding in to snatch up the prepared homes on display. It was really Victoria's cup of tea, though, and frankly, the prospect of having little people running around and greeting her with that amount of cheerful nonchalance every morning was ever so slightly nauseating.

She smiled back at the merry realtor as she answered. "To be honest, I am looking for something a bit more urban," she confessed, fumbling her phone out of her pocket. "That little house we passed on the way up here, the one built over the stream? I don't suppose you have it on your books, but I took a picture as we passed anyway."

Scanning quickly through the pictures on her phone, she found the right one and showed it to Fiora. "Something like that would suit me down to the ground, if it's possible on my budget."

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-11-10 13:27 EST
Cian and Victoria were her favorite types of customers. They knew what they wanted and they made the hunting easy. And to top it all off, like a cherry nestled in a pile of rich whipped cream, they were right on the money, no delusions there.

Sometimes a client would request a place that rang false or didn't quite fit them and Fiora would squirm with the discomfort of giving them what they thought they wanted. She was sure there were fashion designers out there who felt the same way when someone inquired after a style that did not suit them. She could understand, after all, as much as she might wish she was a leggy supermodel thin woman who could wear sheaths and pantsuits. She recognized how silly she looked playing dress up in such items. Short skirts suited her more compact frame and gave the illusion of length to her petite body that delighted her.

Nowhere near as much as the delight she felt when a home and a person came together. It was euphoric really. Thrilling to sign off on Cian's perfect cottage and hand over the key to the Chateau he requested. And Victoria's place, charming and well-kept was perfect for her. Some negotiations remained to be ironed out on the price as Fiora hadn't actually owned that particular property but things were progressing along at that enjoyable clip that said success was on the air. She'd be happily gifting Victoria with the key to her own home, payments set up through the Goblin Bank and Trust, by the morning if all went smoothly.

A chipper and dimpled Fiora breezed through the Plaza, singing happily to all those Plazamates that she encountered. Waving at the busy Paige and entering her office.

So it could be viewed with some surprise when she re-emerged but a short time later with a sadness held within her cerulean eyes that revealed a bruised shade upon her soul. A dejected kitten, she slipped past the door of Dusky Beaumont's and lifted a plaintive face to the keen eyes of Doctor Shilo.

She gave no heed to the fact that he was working. Fortunately timing her arrival in a moment that he was not with a client himself. Skirting the edge of his desk, she arrived at his chair and with no invitation needed she climbed into his lap. Tears pooled in blue-green eyes, and her lower lip trembled as her voice clogged with emotion, "Sometimes." A forceful lift of her pointed little chin revealing the determination not to cry that was overcome by the first trailing glide of a tear that spilled over the fringe of her lashes, "I hate Rhy'Din."

(In reference to:

People vanish all the time, one less familiar face in the crowd, one more abandoned apartment to be filled. One day there furniture is there, the next? it?s not. A bit of paper slipped beneath a realtor?s door with a key and a note that includes a jotted address and the words ?Space Available.?

No one thinks much of it. People come, people go. It would be just as pointless to mourn the loss of grains of sand from the beach. Somehow the community has become disconnected, unconcerned. Individuals write it off as a matter of choice or unlucky fate, that the same curious twist of luck that landed someone here one day happened to resolve and send them away.

The problem that follows is that sometimes when people go missing? no one thinks to find out where they?ve gone...)

Click of suede boots sung in the Plaza as the blond entered. Sweeping quickly to the front desk she called out. "Excuse me! Need an appointment with Fiora Shantalaine about renting out or buying an office here at the Plaza. Is she in?"
