Topic: OOC Chatter (OPEN TO ALL)

Huh, how funny I never noticed that I'd never created a folder for OOC chatter.

Anywhosa, I just wanted to apologize to everybody I was playing with last night as I was having a really hard time staying awake. Grr.

If Fiora didn't make a whole lot of sense, well I guess that's nothing new. ;)

I do believe this sums up Fiora's current idea of bunnies:

Yea? Of course it totally got me in the mood to rewatch this episode of Buffy. Sniffle. She gave good tv, damnit.

So I've been catching up on my television shows and while the storyline remains kind of bland No Ordinary Family has some really great actors playing their parts.

I totally thought the actress playing Detective Yvonne Cho was the image of Riley ORourke. I couldn't believe her fate. Looks and personality seemed to be right on target.

And if you ever want an idea of Fiora's irrepressible quirky energy take a look at Katie Andrews, the lab assistant.

I love finding correlations like these in popular media.

Granted I went completely overboard with Jericho (sniffle at its cancellation), I swear the casted characters were direct representations of this campaign we were running. The black sheep brother and the good one cheating on his doctor wife with an older bar wench. We had two paladins who completely fit the mold, the "good one" married to a healer but having an affair with a more experienced pirate wench. There were so many similarities I was joking about having our campaign ripped off.

Riley ORourke

I guess I'll have to finally break down and check that show out then. I've been waffling for a while because on the one hand, Darla from Buffy (and Rita from Dexter - Julie Benz) is phenomenal, but on the other hand, poor Michael Chiklis has been type-cast as the Thing, and I don't want to contribute to that. Heh. But yeah, I guess I'll check it out.

If I have dropped the ball at the moment I can only promise to pick it back up again here real soon.

Happy National Sandwich Day!

Here's a little Sandwich quiz, too!

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2010-11-04 15:15 EST
I LOVE IT!

LOL!

It is so amusing how sandwiches have become Fiora's "thing." And all because one of the first nights I played her, lost and hungry, Panther offered her a sandwich. And then everytime she came to the Inn she was able to convince somebody to make her a sandwich.

The funny things characters do, yea? (Btw I got a 6 out of 8 on the Sandwich Quiz. Who'da guessed Cheez Whiz? Gross.)

Anybody want to share their odd/funny/strange/unexpected character hangups?

Euriya Shilo

Narcissism.

Euriya has it.

Bad.

Like Fiora Sandwich bad.

Riley ORourke

Date: 2010-11-04 17:20 EST
Uh... The list of Riley's neuroses is long. In the interest of saving time I'll sum it up in three:

Faeries. More Sidhe than the less Fae, though.

Gummi worms. Particularly the orange/pineapple ones.

Stubbornness. Seriously, she has a major issue with anyone questioning whether she's right about something...and saying she has a "major issue" is like saying Everest is a big mountain.

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2010-11-05 23:39 EST
Stubborn? Riley? I'da never guessed.

"Like FioraSandwichBAD" has become one of my all time favorites. ROFLMAO!

I love that the Polyvore stuff is getting used. The Petrushka set was one of my favorites. If anybody would like something done, just let me know.

I plan on doing some more character inspired ones here soon.

I had meant to write up a narrative for Tasha and the North Wind's encounter but as I sat to alter the chat logs into a summation I was struck by how much I enjoyed the encounter (so steamy!) as it stood.

My apologies to those who do not care to read chat logs, but for posterity's sake I chose to leave it intact.

Thank you.

And Special thanks to The North Wind.

Okay I know I'm swamping the boards and I feel a tad guilty for it. So I wanted to let you all know that this glut of Fiora will certainly pass (right around January the 23rd in fact).

I just realized that making another post to feel remorseful for making too many posts ....wow...my logic. It hurtz D'Brain.

In other news: I revamped my profile! YAY! Finally! ::Does a little dance, makes a little love, Gets down tonight, Gets Down tonight!::

Admit it...the song is now eeking its way into your brain pan... "do a little dance..." ...you can't make it stop...."make a little love..." .....it's working.... "get down tonight!"

"get down tonight!"

As I've recently had my first interactions with the character and the player behind her, both are nothing short of amazing. Don't apologize for making people smile or outright belly laugh. I enjoy Fi, a lot!

Also, a word on Luke.

I write him like he's talking to me. It's not grammatically correct, nor is it meant to be. Just his voice and thoughts spilling into words on the screen. I hope that he doesn't annoy the perfectionists too much.

Thanks for the laughs and the homes, Fi!

Okay, sorry for the slow responses today had a ton of errands to run and ended up with a migraine this evening.

Okay, so I am a TREMENDOUS Green Lantern fan. Huge. Phenomenally large. I have Lantern Rings of various Shapes and Colors. I have tons of comics. I have a costumed hoodie. I have the Green Lantern symbol tattoo'd onto my left shoulder!

All that said, I am almost more excited for Thor than I am for Green Lantern. I loves me so Spaaaaace Asgard!

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-01-19 01:29 EST
I always thought Green Lantern was a joke. I mean seriously, Aliens with green rings that can turn into anything while a dude ran around in tights? And I'm a diehard comic book girl. But...

...and then they got Ryan Reynolds and my brain went.... "yessssss...."

In other news:

Work. The bane of all creativity.

Catching up quickly promises! Looking forward to the Gala I hope everyone is too!

And, of course, everybody is entitled to their own interpretation and interaction with the Date Auction but I figured I'd clarify:

Please feel free to bid on more than one character, in fact I think that would make it tons of fun. (Fiora is looking to win a week's worth of dates fyi)

If you have a set outcome determined as in a love triangle that you want one particular person to win please have that set up with the other player beforehand or plan on bidding until someone expires.

Because of the differences in coinage and monetary means, Fiora will be giving out tokens that are worth X amount and you will bid those. So the bid will not jump to a ridiculous ONEHUNDREDTRILLIONXXILLION DOLLAR YEN GOLDCOINS SMALLGEMS PLATINUMPIECES CREDSTICKS ATMCARDS.

Euriya Shilo

Date: 2011-01-19 01:32 EST
If Ryan Renolds had been Hal Jordan from day one I would have bought his comic book years ago. Little green lantern rings? PSHAW!!

And for the record, I am very excited about the upcoming Gala event.

Should be fun.

Ack! Julian I totally overlooked your door prize. I'm such a buffoon! I'm so sorry, you were one of the late additions and I hadn't updated my cheat sheet.

I'd like to have distributed your gorgeous wine selection to Dr. Euriya Shilo and Dusky Beaumont as they were in line to receive a gift next.

If you don't mind my blurring I will say it was presented accordingly and update my announcements. If you'd rather not I can come up with an IC reason where Fiora overlooked it. So sorry!!!

I'm relieved because I seriously thought that I was having some sort of moment in completely missing it myself. Not to worry, you had lots to do! I'm just glad it turned out I wasn't having a senior citizens forgetful moment.

Additionally, if you feel like your character would've been there but couldn't do to room limitations or multiple SN dilemmas, please feel free to "write up" or "incorporate" the Gala into your own Storyline. If you'd like an ICON send me a private message and I'll send one your way.

I had to share this one...

Two women friends had gone out for a Girls Night Out, and had been decidedly over-enthusiastic on the cocktails. Incredibly drunk and walking home they suddenly realized they both needed to pee. They were very near a graveyard and one of them suggested they do their business behind a headstone or something. The first woman had nothing to wipe with so she took off her panties, used them and threw them away. Her friend however was wearing an expensive underwear set and didn't want to ruin hers, but was lucky enough to salvage a large ribbon from a wreath that was on a grave and proceeded to wipe herself with it. After finishing, they made their way home.

The next day the first woman's husband phones the other husband and said, "These damn girls nights out have got to stop. My wife came home last night without her panties." "That's nothing," said the other. "Mine came back with a sympathy card stuck between the cheeks of her butt that said, 'From all of us at the Fire Station, Well never forget you!'

Toby and I ♥ you and Shilo, Fiora. Just want to put that out there.

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-06-16 12:28 EST
Well that's awesome! ;) I can't speak for Shilo, well technically I could but then he'd have to come in and give a longwinded explanation of his true meaning so I'll leave it to him, though I should point out that it was his interest in your writing and setup that drew my attention in the first place ;)

Wow, speaking of longwinded. HA!

Well, I happen to double triple chocolate fudge HEART you both. MOOAH!

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-07-12 14:17 EST
I would love a PlazadeTroyes night at the Inn. In fact, I love it so much that I want to DO IT.

Sorry I've been scarce lately, IRL has picked up full swing again and it's taken me a bit more adjustment to my new schedule that I expected.

What does Thursday look like for everybody?

This Thursday.

Luke Boudreaux

Date: 2011-07-12 14:37 EST

Everyone before me's got it right. I started seeing those calendar pieces go up on polyvore and I "liked" ALL of them! (Which isn't hard to do anyway, since Fiorisms alone are always amazing) But it has been a real treat to see what you've been working on, who has gotten what months, how they turned out and a glimpse into their characters. Many of the players put up actual posts of how their characters stumbled upon Fiora's secret "questionnaire" which I thought was particularly fun to read. And who doesn't want to know everyone's favorite food and color?? The two most important questions in life!

You did an amazing job on them. It's obvious you had fun making them, and I had fun enjoying them. They look so professionally done! No fair! Only to the tenants of the Plaza? Well I know the solution to this problem: everyone needs a loft over there!

The surprise worked. It was truly a special one. And depending on the availability of these calendars, I'll definitely be picking one up IC. Hopefully while supplies last! ;-)

Alain DeMuer

Date: 2011-08-05 08:48 EST
OH GOD. xD You have no idea how hard I laughed! Seriously, awesome work on the calendar, Fiora!

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-08-05 09:30 EST
Awww you guys are meltingly awesome! I had so much fun sneaking around and putting this all together!!

Paige, Lei, and Bridget: Fiora is only just now aware that she might've possibly needed to read those thingies before sending them to the printshop... ;)

Lelah and Luke: So glad you liked it! I hope I did your characters justice!

Elessaria and Alain: Thank you Thank you!!

And Dyarhk: You're a sweetie! Everybody was awesomely cool about it and I love doing things like this! The Plaza business offices are always welcoming! ;)

Anything that allowed me to meld together the my Polycrack addiction and RDI was guaranteed to make me happy!

I suppose I should order up some icons for everybody who wanted one. Hmmm... Yes, yes I shall do that now. ;)

And sidenote: BRIDGET IS FULL OF RAINBOWS, CLEVERNESS, and WIN!

I love the "One Good Shot Deserves Another!"

I want to have yer internet babiez!!

Bridget Valenti

Thanks girlie! I'm glad you enjoyed it -- I had a great time coming up with it.

Totally excited for the calendar icon! Maybe I should finally launch into that territory and create a Valenti Agency icon...hmm...

I'm thoroughly enjoying Luke's backstory. The voodoo/bayou angle is awesome.

Dyarhk

Date: 2011-08-08 15:14 EST
You're reading that too, Riley? It is awesome, isn't it.

I feel right at home on the bayou imagining those gators. I'll bet there's even a catfish of folklore in those waters named "Big Mona."

Luke Boudreaux

Date: 2011-08-08 15:33 EST
Big Mona? Thanks, I spewed my drink all over the big screen. LOL!
I'm glad to know you guys are enjoying it. It is a lot of fun to write, and even I am surprised by some of Luke's memories. Stay tuned, there's more to come.

Thanks for reading!

So good to see the board hopping!

Plaza night this week, I don't care what all has to be done. There are people that need to be introduced to people!

Welcome Fabian Salerno to the Plaza de Troyes Associates!

And because I don't think I ever officially did this: Welcome to Paige Lovelace!

I owe everybody a response of some kind or another and I promise I'm getting on it. My apologies, for those who don't know, last week during the storm our house was struck by lightning. Fried something called a "coupling" or "couplink" or something that sounds like a Cup and an "L" word of some kind or another. (Yeah, I totally zone out whenever people start talking hardware/software or anything involving stuff I don't want to think about).

Anywho, the Cable guy came out and did his bit, and then a tech friend came over and did their bit and everything is SUPPOSED to be running well but really it's not and the connection says Excellent but doesn't really mean it. (Flirty little bastard)

So the husband still wants to buy a new router and that is the plan as soon as we find a free moment.

Basically I guess I'm pirating internet right now, which I really don't get because I'm still paying my bill and my signal is excellent but my router won't connect to it but it keeps connecting to another network which is the same name as my router "Linksys" but I guess is not my router. Like a neighbors or something?

Say huH?

I don't know. I don't get it.

At all.

Grr, seriously frustrating.

I luvz you all. And will make it up to you soon as I can.

Luke Boudreaux

Date: 2011-08-13 16:03 EST
Glad you are basically okay, other than cable issues(Which do suck) Here in The Heartland it's been so dry that lightning strikes have set many homes on fire directly or even indirectly by setting the fields near those homes on fire. So I'm glad that didn't happen in your case.

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-08-20 14:02 EST
Bought a fancy new router (Yay!) but of course it is the start of a new semester (Boo!) so I will be around sporadically until I get used to the new schedule.

I was curious as to the chances of having a Plaza showing at the Color Your City?

Team de Troyes!

?

My own IRL schedule has been a helluva mess so I thought I'd get an OOC response before I tackled an IC one.

Let me know!

Bridget Valenti

Date: 2011-09-20 06:47 EST
I'd say there's a 50/50 chance I can make the actual event - that weekend's gunna be OOC busy, but I'll definitely be there if I can. God knows Bridget and body paint go together like, uh...

Fiora Shantalaine

Date: 2011-09-29 10:51 EST
I hear ya. Maybe we should just play it by ear, I'd feel incredibly guilty if I rounded everybody up and then couldn't show myself.

In other news. I realized it's time to have an overview thread listing the businesses and their services.

So give me a write up people! ;)

For that reason, you get a puppy from the internet to express what I wish to.

Okay people! What do you want to see at your Fall Festival Events?!? Hmm??

Katt has done a fabulous job putting together some great ideas for the City Wide event and Ander has decided to throw an Event at the Plaza for the day after. (October 28th and October 29th).

It is going to be a busy weekend Rhy'Din Style, but as I started putting together some silly ideas to promote interaction (I promise no blind date auction this month, we'll save that for the Business Gala's Anniversary) I thought why not pick the brains of those wonderful folk all around me.

So, let me know, besides the outfits, is it the playlists? Is it the food? Is it the drinks? Is it the games? What says "good time"?

Caroline Granger

Date: 2011-10-14 19:33 EST
::grins:: I'm such a plagarist. Tell me, are you familiar with Orson Wells' radio version of The War of the Worlds? Because I can't help thinking that transplanting that to Rhy'Din in 3-D color and sound would be hilarious. But that's just me.

To All:

I got a little behind on the West End Wargs, my apologies to all involved! Please feel free to jump in on the thread created as it is open. (Oh I should add that to the thread title -- mental note). You can come as a participant! Or as a player-washer! Or simply wonder what the hell Fiora is doing again.

And if you are interested in joining Fiora's hockey team I'm totally down with that! ;)

Plaza de Troyes members get free tickets to the games.. Smoochies!

Roughing Out Yet Another Idea:

Okay so another harebrained scheme.....(shh, no comments from the peanut gallery, you Nuts!)....I have decided to open my very own apartment/place idea for people looking for a home to post and live within.

Because it is Fiora and therefore by definition a little....(what word am I looking for here?)....I have decided that it would be seriously awesome if she took over a former Camping Lodge--think a boarding camp for rich kids--and decided that it was an apartment "complex."

Its location will be against the wall leading into Dragon District (where the Red Dragon is) but within the Market District (where the Marketplace is) and just north of the bridge into Temple District. Very centrally located.

I'm thinking mid-ranged price for those who don't want the cheap seats at Kesey, or the expensive suites at Luks.

Also, I envision fancy little chateaus of various sizes, (I can't wait to name them!) surrounding an enchanted pond (that will function as a swimming pool). I've got other amenities and npcs flickering about in my mind's eye but wanted to put this down somewhere in its rough form.

Who doesn't want Fiora as a neighbor?? Don't answer that.

Shen Lei

Date: 2011-10-20 15:36 EST
Is the word you're looking for there possibly ... kooky?

But hells yes, this is a GREAT idea!

I hope that Plaza de Troyes will have time this year to show up for Winterfest! :D Maybe an NPC'ed booth or even a sponsored set of lights for Festival of the Lights?

If you can't, I totally understand! I am just flitting from folder to folder and trying to get people interested and thinking! <3
