With all the traveling she'd been doing lately there was one thing Kate forgot to take with her. It was a small, leather bound journal that when she was in one of her homes in Rhy Din was always within reach. The ties that wrapped around the book and held it together were worn and old, the notebook inside could be changed as it was filled.

The fact that she did leave it behind would be enough for some to surmise that something big had happened.

Question was, what?

There's something wrong. I can't put my finger on it but everything just feels one step to the left rather than where it's supposed to be.

I'm happy, things are good but it's like there's someone or something waiting in the dark to step in and do something.

Right now I'm just working on not reacting, hoping that this is just a reaction to the "good" that's going on. I know how I get sometimes, good things happen and I start looking for and expecting band things. I don't think this is going to happen this time but part of me is still waiting for it.

Is this feeling just an extension of that or is it something I really should be paying attention to?

I guess I'll have to wait and see.

She'd filled book after book, the ones from the past year were still in her desk. So much had happened that she had to start yet another new one.

The first few pages of it were full of doodles, names, numbers, places, seemingly random things, there were even a few musical notes drawn with flowers in the upper corner of one of the pages.

The previous book looked the same only it had slips of paper and other things shoved into it.

At the bottom of the first clean page on the new book one thing was written:

"I think whoever hired me to go after these orbs wants me dead. If I can find out who it is I might find out how I became human. Somehow all the information has been hidden from me.

Below it was drawn some flowers and a small bird, under that was a name:
Kate Mallorek
Another flower, a date, and an address were under it.
